these guy are remembering things different.
Remember Tristan took less than the max.
J.R in his first F.A opted out of his contract to test the market and he wasn't properly courted so the cavs lowballed him and he had to sign for less until after the cavs won the championship.then he had all the power.
Any decent Agency would have gotten the same for their clients.
what I find very distasteful is how the NBA allowed an active player to have his own sport agency at least don't allow him to sign NBA players.
I totally agree with you but the Cavs management also did a poor job on that roster. The team is not balanced right now and any injury to Kyrie could cost the team a whole lot.

Omo who do you guys get tho? Maybe you go to Euro League or call Gilbert Arenas. Haha

The Cavs have no cap space. They are neck deep in luxury tax. No P.G worth a damn is coming to the Cavs cos they just can't pay em.

If Lebron and J.R took just 4 mil less there would have been enough to hold on to Delly
You don't need to worry about our expensive roster. We've got the most expensive basketball player in the world wink

Signing a PG now depends on the amount of draft assets we have and apart from that, we're only looking for an average player. So, I don't think we would have to break the bank.

The trade deadline is Feb 23 and I'm quite optimistic that the management would strike a decent deal before then.

Well. Its so silly when the king drops a triple double, Irving drops 49pts and Love puts 16rebs and still lose to the Pelicans without Davis. It shows how weak our defense is. I don't think a backup PG is the issue, a reliable center is, not the weak a** TT.

We'd bounce back against Sac tonight.
A backup PG is the main issue now, miss.
LeBron is playing about 40mins/game because no one can pass the ball when he/Kyrie is on the bench and that is making him turn the ball over at critical parts of the game.
I agree with you that our defense is weak, but I also think our bench lacks depth.

P.S Kindly compare our number of assists to that of other teams to see what I'm talking about.

if he didn't force his team to give couple of players crazy contracts, they won't be in this position. He made his bed, let him lie in it.
I blame the management for not seeing the bigger picture. LeBron wanted more money for his boys, but Griffin should have taken a clue from the way Pat Riley dealt with him when he was with the heat.

Whether we like it or not, the cavs are going to get a PG because it's obvious that the team needs a playmaker. I just hope his statement won't make it difficult for them to get a decent one.

If we talk now they'll say something else..

LeBron shouldn't be complaining about needing help.
And where's Kyrie in all this? I don't think the Cavs need anyone else. What were they thinking before taking Kyle Korver or didn't they have enough 3pt weapons with Kyrie, K.Love, Frye, Jones and Jefferson?

The only difference these days is that almost all teams play with so much confidence and toughness.
I condemn his public rants but the fact still remains that the team needs a backup PG.
GSW without curry has a better chance of winning than a Cavs team without kyrie.
The team lost two backup PGs this season and it's really affecting them.

Make he go sleep. After securing exhorbitant deals for the clients of a member of his 'posse' and of course a monster but perhaps deserved deal for himself where are the Cavs going to get a decent PG. With which cap space? Is he aware his team already has the highest payroll in the league? He better make that team Work Work Work Work Work
LA clippers are like kids running around the field now just because CP is down.
What if kyrie gets injured?
Do you want what happened in 2015 finals to happen again? cheesy

I agree with you that LeBron and his crew influenced the JR and TT deals. But for the sake of the team, the management should just get us a PG.

LeBron why
The guy was just sincere. He has been turning the ball over too much lately and I think it's because he's the only one making the plays.
We desperately need a PG.

Zaza flagrant and stand over Westbrook (who flops anyway) cheesy

After the match, Russ tells Enes Kanter "Don't say wassup to that bïtch ass Nigga". cheesy

When asked about his in game banter with KD
He said "what talk?"
Are you on speaking terms with KD?
He says No!!

About Zaza standing over him..
He says "I didn't know he was standing over there but I will get his ass back".

He's still a Beast tho
Westbrook is more concerned about his ego and triple-doubles than the success of that team.
I don't think he would even succeed if surrounded by superstars.

I think the mods should just change the title of this thread to 'Cavs Vs The rest of the World'

The Cavs were not good last night and I don't think it's something to worry about. GSW won both legs last season and they still lost in the finals.
The West is so competitive and I don't think it's a sure ticket for them yet. So,You guys should just save your energy for the Playoffs/Finals.

I don't think Durant leaving OKC is totally because he couldn't win there. He wouldn't say it but I believe he left cos he didn't want to play with Westbrook anymore. He knew that and chose the best place to play the way he wanted and win as well. Just my opinion.

At least he didn't do a show to announce his decision. Lol
Westbrook did a great job when Durant was injured and He felt he should be the face of their franchise. Durant wanted to win but Westbrook was more interested in who leads the team and that's one of the reasons I don't really fancy his triple-doubles. No man can do it alone and He will definitely be exposed in the playoff.

People knew Durant wanted to leave OKC, but why GSW?

No hoops disciple would say they don't recognize his greatness. Maybe the magnitude is what we are disputing

1) Lmao at he took a pay cut. Who didn't? Ojebi. He for no take am na. He needed a ring to validate his career and legacy. He didn't sacrifice zilch. Wade did. That was his team

2) Lebron also lost in the 2nd round twice in 3 years prior to joining the Heat.

3) He also won it with the Cavs. Difference is he didn't even get to the Finals (in his MVP seasons) which means those so-called superstars pushed him over the line

4) He was the star of the team with two other guys averaging 18-20 pts. The firepower plenty. He should have been 4/4 in Finals with the Heat

5) There's a Yoruba saying 'Ona kan o wo oja' One road no enter market. Some want to build camaraderie others are all about winning

Wade put his ego aside and gave Lebron the keys. He didn't have to

Lastly Durant's decision is no worse than Lebron's its the height of double standards to argue otherwise. Joining two of the top 5 draft picks in your year? And you are the best? the King? Come on bruhh
The Yoruba proverb 'ona kan o woja' also means that people don't care about how you got to the market. The main thing is to get there. The problem arises when you decide to take a different route only to get lost in the process.
Likewise, Different ways lead to success and what works for you might not work for others. Kobe had everything he needed in LA and he was successful. Durant had a good team but he felt will be successful elsewhere (We've got to wait and see if he will get to the market or get lost in the process of finding his way there). LeBron needed help which he was able to get in Miami and he was arguably successful.

I sincerely respect your opinion and I understand how challenging it is to separate emotions from arguments like this. So at this point, We've got to let it slide.

Cheers smiley

Fanstatic performance for Korver today. 18pts off the bench, 70% FG, 67% from 3's..
Warriors, Ya ready?? grin
You forgot to mention Shump, he had a great game too.As for korver, he has not even scratched the surface yet. The good thing right now is that half of the team can shoot the ball even with both eyes closed.

My only concern is the way some teams dominate us in the paint.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Muna15: 8:19pm On Jan 14, 2017
lolawilliams:
Ver good. KD's decision will always be worse than LeBron's decision. more reasons.

6- The 2015 Thunder are overwhelmingly better than 2010 Cavaliers and everyone knows this, he gave his heart and soul to the Cavs night in and night out from 2003 to 2010. Carried them on his back with memorable performances in the post-season. All the while being defeated time and time again because he didn't have enough help around him in Finals. OKc is a fully stackd team

7- LeBron had an aging Shaq and Antwan Jamison to fall back on along with Mo Williams. Compare that with the 2015-16 Thunder who had Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, Steven Adams and Enes Kanter to help Durant. The diff is just too much

8- He once tweeted this " Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let's go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!"... Lol WTF, when did he bevome a politician, lol he should have sticked to what he said.

But i can understand he needs a ring grin
Impressive!

But you Lebron fans make it sound like one man can do it all ALONE despite the fact that he ran to join 2 of the top 5 players in his draft class. Chei and to think it is still una wey go gather dey criticize Durant dey always turn my belle.

These were some of Shaq's numbers in the Finals. 38/16.7/3.8blks another Final 36/12/4

That was Kobe's Finals MVP competition who played at Center and closer to the basket.

No competition between Kobe's West and the weak East we are seeing now. Since Lebron entered the league the East has won fewer titles. Even more than half of the titles the East won were as a result of at least 3 superstars aligning. Compared to Kobe who competed with the Mavs, Spurs, Suns and Kings (one of the best teams to never get to a Final)

What of in 2011 did he give his all? 2014 nko when his counterpart was shooting over 60% from the perimeter what did he do about it?

Lebron is a great player but when he wins he did it alone, when he loses its cos he didn't have help. This is my argument with his fans
In Sum, You recognize LeBron's greatness. You only have issues with those who see him as a team player wink

And Please, You need to stop comparing Bron's Decision with that of Durant.
1. LeBron took a pay-cut to join the Miami heat (You can call that teamspirit- eagerness to sacrifice your personal interest for the success of the team)
2. The last time the Heat made it to the conference semi-final was three years before he arrived (which means Wade alone was not enough).
3. He won the MVP twice with the Heat which shows that he ran the show among your so-called superstars.
4. He won the finals MVP on three different occasions which means he was the star of the team in the finals.
5. He built a good camaraderie with his teammates and that contributed to their success on the court.

Now, kindly compare his decision to that of Durant.

P.S LeBron won his two championship with the Heat because he had Dwade and Ray Allen. He won the last championship because he had Kyrie. So, I will never say that LeBron alone can win championships.

I don't know about padding stats. Kobe always did the needful to win

You had to earn Kobe's trust. It was all business with him. And it wasn't all talk. He always brought it every night and never quite understood why others didn't do the same. Wanting to take the clutch shot is just Kobe's DNA. He was ready to take the blame when things went south. As it should be when you are the best player on the team.

For me Lebron has played in a weaker conference with 5 all-stars for half his career. He would have to match Kobe's ring total at least before I consider him better. My opinion
Basketball is a team sport and no man,I mean NO MAN, can do it all alone. Kobe won 5 championships but he was the finals MVP on two out of the five finals appearances which shows he was not the best player on three different occasions. He didn't average 100points which means he had some help from his teammates (Shaq, Gasol and others ).

More so, I don't think it's ideal to compare kobe's championship hustle with that of LeBron because during Kobe's time, the Bad Gs were scattered all across the league unlike now, where we have them in fewer teams and you would agree with me that the more star-studded the teams are, the more competitive the playoff/finals.

Nearly everyone in the league wants to win but I know some Gs want it more than others. So, I don't think Kobe's mentality was the only factor that contributed to his successes ( Both for US and Lakers) and I bet you wouldn't say Lebron lost the finals two years ago because he didn't give his all to win. To me, He lost because his team was short of talents.

Kobe was a great player and he is the best SG, behind Jordan, to ever play the game. But at the same time, we need to all acknowledge the fact that we are really experiencing history right now watching LeBron and it might take a very long time to see someone like him again.

I think Lebron has never been hated or derided like Kobe. Kobe was the ultimate pantomime villain. Lebron did not get real hate till The Decision.

Kobe is many things but not a diva. Maybe a ballhog. (I don't know how ballhogs average over 5asts over a career. Kobe was never fake humble or fake nice like Lebron. Kobe was a real nigga who didn't send you or need your love. His beef with Shaq was over Shaq's work ethic. All Kobe cared about was winning and if you were not on that page you couldn't co-exist with Kobe. Just look at Howard he's probably going to retire without a ring, now compare him to Gasol who put his head down and pushed him to help the Lakers to two rings
Yeah! Kobe didn't care about what people had to say and that really made him so successful. He would race down the court just to pad his stats.

He was very hardworking and he expected that same commitment from others but he never trusted his teammates and he always wanted to take the clutch shot.

Kobe was a great player but I believe LeBron would be considered ahead of him when he retires.

Korver happy lowkey he wont get sweep by the Cavs in p/offs like it happened for the past 2seasons. lool

korver is a good pick, just think about when JR gets back HOLY HELL!! , the Cavs already knows who they will be meeting in finals and its obvious the team we got cant beat the Warriors in finals. Now that we copped us a 42.9% 3point shooter. I just hope we get one last thing which is a rim protector, then we're good to go.
JR does nothing for the cavs than to shoot 3s from awkward positions. He was better last season probably because he wanted a bigger contract and he was able to get it thanks to LeBron and his clutch sport crew.
With the arrival of korver,JR should be coming from the bench.

Well the All Star voting, though largely based on court celebrity power (Ofcus I would vote for a player I fancy watching) also tells us alot. Most of the top picks share my sentiments, my only surprise is seeing my one and only Dwayne (d'flash) Wade ahead of Isaiah Thomas. grin grin grin. If a half broken Dwayne Wade can get ahead of Thomas, then It's obvious he wouldn't get a look-in for MVP as some campaigned on here.
I was also surprised to see Carmelo gather so many votes.I guess their wives (Lala & Gabrielle) also influenced the voters.

At all. At all. Age-wise, he's passing his prime. Irvin would never be a pure play-maker. Cris is 31, may just need a ring at this age. I actually think he would make cavs far more entertaining than they currently are.
Factor in the relationship between him and Bron.
In fact,CP would make any team more entertaining because of his play-making skills but I don't think he would want to be tagged a 'ring chaser' or 'LeBron ass licker'
Another thing is that CP has done so much for the game and I don't see him taking a back seat in favor of kyrie.

Yall don't need JR. He is a streaky, volume shooter. Your team has shot well for the most part especially (and surprisingly Lebron). In the spirit of New Year did I make this post.

Happy New Year peoples. Where is Mizzbeee?
I really agree with you.JR is the most overrated 3-point shooter in NBA. He's too inconsistent to be paid that huge amount of money.

I don't see OKC GSW being a great match up like that of late year. Russell will definitely ball but his team does not have the defensive strength to stop those GSW shooters.

Yeah...K.love is weak but don't forget that he's a double-double machine.

We also need a good defender to protect the rim.
