Since it's in Ladipo u can look for a Toks of the same car, pop the bonnet and trace all the wiring.

Start with the engine fuse box and bsi and replace any fuse bridged with copper wire.

Doing this is going to expose all the problems the previous owner refused to solve but if you can get the electrical system back to factory you'd enjoy the car for years ( I had a 307 12 straight years, spent far less on fuel and mechanics than my corolla counterparts, only gave it out a few months back because someone I gave it to for a few months messed it up in the name of repairing).

BSI kit costs about that I changed mine for 60k though before giving out the car.

When electrical issues are fixed, buy a Diagbox scanner & learn how to use it and NEVER let any rewire bypass anything.

If anything goes bad replace it.

don't really know abt your EW10J4 manual

also tell your technician to check the wiring, if it was an abuse that damaged this BSI, same abuse will corrupt this one you're about to buy... tell him to check for abuse.

Ok thank you very much. I will call him right now, infact I will go there tomorrow, so he can check for any wiring abuse and solve it once and for all. At least if I pay N80k and it solves all wiring issues, it will be worth it.

Meanwhile, my Rewire just called me. He told me that he changed the BSI of the car (my 407) and the headlights issue of constant power on was normalized.

He then told me that the BSI can not be changed alone, that I need to change the brain box, BSI and key together, and that it will cost me a total of N80k.

Is this really true.

I am in Lagos and the car is with my Rewire at Ladipo.

I swear, if I knew the car was abused, I wouldn't have bought it. I honestly didn't know but when I got there to buy it, the car did not start because the battery was weak, so they had to start it with another battery. They said the battery went down because the headlight is always on and that is as a result of the faulty headlight control at the steering. That's all they told us, I didn't know that will result to a serious problem.

Maybe if my Rewire was there, he would have read a deeper meaning to that but my Mechanic ignored it.

I will appreciate if you can help. I called my Rewire this morning, he said I can come check the car by tomorrow.

whichever way, you're 4ckD man.....don't blame peugeot for that, blame the guy who abused that car and then sold it to you. there's nothing wrong buying an abused 407..
I mean.. I bought my 607 abused but luckily the electricals were intact even the ECU & BSI are still factory. but engine bay was in a mess with lots of wrong mechanic parts installed, missing vacuum hoses, weak engine & wrong manual gear installed... these abuses, you can manage ; considering the ridiculously low price you're pricing the car.

I advise ppu to shun (electrically abused) peugeot cars. Go for Japanese cars or others if you're not a Peugeot enthusiast. seems that brand is not for every Nigerian.

Tell me your location if I can help you with a technician. just be praying the abuse is minimal, even ikenna351 dey fear/avoid severely abused 407.

I wish I saw your message before I opted to buy a 407. Luckily for me, I got the E10 engine with a manual transmission. I have a 307 so I wanted to buy something better, that's why I went for the 407.

Infact, the 407 I bought has some issues. I just bought it last week. The headlight doesn't go off and it kills the battery, the car display area is blank. My Rewire guy is currently battling with solving it. He blamed my Mechanic for certifying the car good for purchase because I went there with my Mechanic.

Is there a way you can help? Or can you recommend an Expert Rewire to help solve it.

I am really worried.

It isn't a reliable car especially the automatic trans, the best or least worst of it is if u get the one that comes with E10 engine manual trans, the car has electrical issues, the shocks are not that strong and durable, it has terrible cornering especially when you are static, the front is usually low ul have to raise the car up a bit to avoid scraping off ur bumper or silencer, the a.c and clock panel display always gets fried by sunlight,
Small thing light don show for dashboard , not fuel friendly as compared to 406, let me stop here

I think you should go for a Peugeot 406 because it is lesser in all regard than a 407.
