Coding is broad. You can start by learning about different fields and your end goal on YouTube.

Dear young Nigerians,

If the country has failed you, you can't afford to fail yourself.

Learn to code. Learn to write. Do videos.

If you are not good at any of these, invest in crypto.
The world is at your fingertips.

Those who learned these earlier in life are the ones balling today.

Let's not fail ourselves.

Please don't be desperate for a job. Spamming for job openings with over 200 applications is not a good proceeding. Stop applying and start enjoying building dummy projects and adding it to your portfolio while positioning yourself.

Always remember that a good Engineer doesn't look for a company to work for. In contrast, companies are always looking for a good Engineer to work with.

To give you a clue, always attend to interviews like you don't really need the job. It works better that way.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm currently in this phase of too busy building my portfolio and not applying for jobs.

To be honest, a recruiter reached out last week and I was scheduled for a 30 mins interview that same week. Just a little time to prepare.

Hmm being my first official interview ever, I performed terribly. I have been here beating myself up for missing this life saving opportunity.

Please can you explain more on "always attend to interviews like you don't really need the job"

Your response would mean a lot sir.

CareerHow Did You Land Your First Tech Job Without Experience? by munstaqq(op):
I'm sure my story is quite similar to many people out there, so your advice will mean a lot.

My background is Accounting and I started learning Data/Business Analytics sometime this year and I'm quite good at Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, PowerPoint, and even started learning Python recently.

But there is a problem, I don't have a traditional experience. On several occasions, employers had reached out to me on LinkedIn for job opportunities but ghosted me when I told them I don't have experience.

Also, I have received tens of automated rejection emails. I believe I'm good and just need a chance to prove my worth. But hmm.

So the question is, how did you land your first tech job without experience?
And what advice would you give, given your knowledge of the industry?

Thank you.

Sorry, what will I gain from fabricating stories on a faceless forum?
Or villagers don't deserve a higher education?

I attended a private secondary school and I'm also a university graduate. My mum did all forms of petty business to see me and my brother through University, she died a few months before our graduation. So we have undergone years of formal and self-education.

Please what are you saying?

Dear Nairalanders,

With a sad and heavy heart, I'm writing to seek your advice and/or recommendations.

My mum is late. She died 2 years ago and since her demise, everything has turned left for us - her children. We were deserted and left to fend for ourselves by our uncles, aunties, and other relatives that we thought were with us when my mum was alive. My dad is still alive but he only pretends to care about us. I can't even remember the last time he has done something good for any of us. Our school fees, food, everything, were taken care of by my mum.

There is a 50-year-old man who we were later told is our distant relative. His house is a stone's throw away from our house. When I was at home, I used to run errands for him, like going to the market to buy things for him. So it was normal. He used this same method on my sister. He took advantage of my sister's naivety and impregnated her. She's barely 16 and I swear to God, she has not known any man until this bastard did this to her. He even ran away from home and plan to come back when tensions are low.

Note: we left her in the village with my dad and my brother. We, the elderly ones left the village to hustle in the city. We have not settled and we couldn't afford to take them with us.

Please I need your advice. What should be our next line of action? He's 50 and won't marry my sister. There is also a high tendency that he won't even take care of her and the baby.

Please what should we do? We are all we've got and nobody to turn to to help us fight this battle. What should we do?

Thank you.

Spot on
Proper cost evaluation be done before sales to avoid selling them kobo kobo to their cronies.

Another thing is how will the monies generated be used to avoid looting which the government is known for.
Lol ... I know looting of the proceeds from the sales of these agencies is certain. Very certain.
But once privatized, Nigerians will benefit in the long run.
PoliticsRe: FG Outlines Firms For Sale, Concession by munstaqq:
Welcome development!

The government's job is to make laws and the enabling environment for businesses to thrive. The government needs to get out of the way.

Privatizing these lost-making agencies will bring more efficiency and accountability.

However, the government should create a price ceiling for the potential buyers to avoid exploitation.

Those of us that reported today were faced with some challenges. Most of the companies are no longer functioning. Those that are functioning know nothing about the program. So we were sent back home.

Kanu will suffer because he fought everybody. Even those that stood for him were not spared.

Everything!

I finished from a Federal University and i have interacted with some international graduates. Trust me, our quality of education is not that bad. Just need some reforms.

And I love the fact that education is cheap. No student loan and stuff.

I was even paid stipend to serve my country.

Thank you Nigeria!!

Please which other SQL application can I use? I don't want to put my learning on hold because of this little challenge.
