The sudden eruption of a Philippine volcano over the weekend has forced tens of thousands from their homes and grounded 500 flights in the country’s main airport.

Red-hot lava gushed out of Taal volcano Monday, which pumped out ash that blew 62 miles north to capital Manila, closing its airport. Experts have warned that the eruption could get worse, and officials were planning to evacuate hundreds of thousands.

Cardi B may be getting a chance to get her citizenship elsewhere.

After Black Twitter joked about the possibility of World War III starting, Cardi took to Twitter to announce that she would be filing for her citizenship in Nigeria. She tweeted, “Naaaaa these memes are fuckin [crying emojis] but shit ain’t no joke ! Specially being from New York .Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger.Dumbest move Trump did till date …I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship.”

Bashir Ahmad, personal assistant to Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari, also caught wind of Cardi’s tweet and jokingly made reference to Nigeria being a better country than Ghana.

Cardi was recently in Africa to perform at the Livespot X Festival on Saturday (Dec. 7). She also performed in Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium in the capital city.

On her down time, she visited an orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria and donated supplies to the less fortunate. donated hundreds of diapers, bottled water and feminine products for women at the orphanage. Music executive, Brooklyn Johnny, joined Cardi on the trip. In an Instagram post, he shared to fans that they loaded up as many supplies they could to take to the orphanage. “We spent our only free time in Nigeria shopping for children in need,” he wrote. “We literally bought as much as the vehicles we had in our convoy could carry… Today was a good day.”

In an Instagram post, she shared photos of herself with the women of the orphanage. She captioned the post, “Gotta thank the ladies and the gentlemen that nurtured these kids that need just a little bit of more love and protection and gear them up for a better place, destiny and future. People like YALL MATTER!”

Trey Songz, the R&B singer, was recently slammed with a brand new $10 million lawsuit from a woman and her attorney who claim the performing artist sexually assaulted her.
Reported by The Blast, the outlet claims a woman in Georgia, going by the name, “Jane Doe,” filed a suit against him for putting his hands up her dress without permission, and also trying to insert his fingers into her vagina.

According to the suit, the woman claims the event took place in a Miami nightclub on the 1st of January, 2018, after Doe and Songz left a party at P. Diddy’s home. On Friday, Trey reportedly posted a message to his Instagram which read, “Blessed. Stressed less.”

As fans of the performer know, Doe has been accused of domestic battery before, however, the charges and lawsuit were subsequently dropped. As it was previously reported, the 2018 domestic abuse case mentioned above was rejected by the LA District Attorney.

Andrea Buera accused Trey of hitting her and giving her a concussion at a party in Hollywood Hills during the NBA All-Star Weekend. Afterward, the City Attorney’s Office began an inner debate regarding whether or not the performer would face charges of misdemeanor domestic violence.

President Muhammadu Buhari says there will be a significant improvement in electricity supply across the country in 2020.

This was contained in the president’s New Year’s message to Nigerians on Wednesday.
The president said:-

“Power has been a problem for a generation. We know we need to pick up the pace of progress. We have solutions to help separate parts of the value chain to work better together,” Buhari said.

“In the past few months, we have engaged extensively with stakeholders to develop a series of comprehensive solutions to improve the reliability and availability of electricity across the country.

“These solutions include ensuring fiscal sustainability for the sector, increasing both government and private sector investments in the power transmission and distribution segments, improving payment transparency through the deployment of smart meters and ensuring regulatory actions maximise service delivery.

“We have in place a new deal with Siemens, supported by the German government after German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited us in Abuja, to invest in new capacity for generation, transmission and distribution. These projects will be under close scrutiny and transparency – there will be no more extravagant claims that end only in waste, theft and mismanagement.

“The next 12 months will witness the gradual implementation of these actions, after which Nigerians can expect to see significant improvement in electricity service supply reliability and delivery. Separately, we have plans to increase domestic gas consumption.

“In the first quarter of 2020, we will commence work on the AKK gas pipeline, OB3 Gas pipeline and the expansion of the Escravos – Lagos Pipeline.

Mariah Carey‘s Twitter account appeared to be hacked briefly yesterday (December 31), sharing tweets featuring racist slurs and comments about Eminem.

Google released Android 10 earlier this year in all of its glory. While there are many features people love, there is an exciting one that Google hasn’t talked about.
The latest Android update comes with a Desktop mode, which will allow users to use Android on their PC. Google is still working on it, in the meantime, users can look at it in the Developer options.

Thankfully, there is a dev working day and night to bring out the potential of the Android 10 Desktop Mode right now. Daniel Blandford, whom we last saw testing a custom launcher for desktop mode.

Now, his custom launcher has matured, and it’s called Flow Desktop Launcher. You can download its early test preview version that’s currently available on Google Play. You need to enable freeform windows and experimental desktop mode located in the developer options for it to work.

According to Blandford, there is a long road ahead before the app goes stable, given that he’s the single person working on the project. His custom desktop mode launcher contains a lot of bugs and half-baked features right now.

When connected to an external monitor, Flow launcher displays a full-blown desktop-like interface built on the likes of Samsung Dex. You will be able to see the list of all the apps installed on your phone and even use them, check the battery level, toggle quick action buttons, add apps to the taskbar, etc.

Before you get too excited, Flow Desktop Launcher is only compatible with a handful of devices right now. It officially supports OnePlus 7T Pro (fully tested and working) and OnePlus 6T.

The custom launcher also lists Essential PH1 and Samsung devices with Dex preinstalled as officially unsupported devices. It shouldn’t be a problem for Samsung users as they already have a stable desktop mode at their disposal.

But even on supported devices, you can try the Flow Desktop for a limited time, after which you’ll have to buy the premium version. Blandford says it is to continue the development of the project.

A woman hurled two screaming little ones to their deaths from an eighth floorboards parking garage, then jumped off of and killed herself, it is advertised.

The unidentified woman and little ones, both of whom are believed to be beneath five, fell from the top of the auto parking garage near Ruggles Station in close proximity to Boston’s Northeastern University on Christmas Day.

A black Acura SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE with its doors open and a couple children’s seats was seen recorded off on the top floor of the building, with police yet to identify typically the victims or their relationship one to the other.

Andre Serizawa claims that his / her friends saw the horrific event, and wrote on Facebook: According to what (his friend) heard from a college student who saw what happened, the kids were crying and screaming before and after she threw them off the top of the garage followed by the impact of them hidding (sic) the ground before she jumped herself.

Items of clothing including a dark-colored buckle shoe and a pair of broken glasses were seen on the ground near to where the bodies were found.

Both Northeastern University Police Department and the Boston Police Department have yet to confirm more details on the circumstances.

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said the woman in addition to children were rushed to medical center, where they were pronounced non-viable.

He said the woman was related to her victims, but said officers were continuing to focus on identifying the three bodies.

NBC Boston reported that the top two floors of the garage have already been closed while police investigate, with the university now planning on closing off the top floor indefinitely.

Eight EMTs, two paramedics, two supervisors and a special operations team member attended the tragedy, with those workers now set to be offered counselling and assistance.

Former Boston Police Chief Daniel Linskey told Boston25News: It’s going to be in their minds for their careers and that is something the police department has to work very difficult to do a critical debrief with these officers to make sure the images they saw, the thoughts they have, are managed.

Those are the type of incidents to go into a first responders mind and build up and they build up to the point where police are leading professions right now in suicide.

Uber has announced that Travis Kalanick, the controversial former CEO of the company, would be stepping down from his position on the board of directors and has sold all of his stock options, estimated to be worth at least $2.5 billion, according to CNBC.
Kalanick’s last day at the company he founded will be December 31. The company launched its IPO in the spring of 2019.

In a statement released by the company, Kalanick said “Uber has been a part of my life for the past 10 years. At the close of the decade, and with the company now public, it seems like the right moment for me to focus on my current business and philanthropic pursuits.” This may be a reference to Kalanick rumored next project, a startup called CloudKitchens, which will provide industrial kitchen space to restaurants that want to focus on food delivery, as first reported by The Information.

It’s unclear if there might be more to Kalanick’s departure, or what the company might look like without him attached. But at least one expert thinks this is a cyncial move on Kalanick’s part.

“This changes nothing for Uber, which has a business model that doesn’t work, and is losing billions of dollars because it subsidizes its passenger rides,” said Steven Hill in an email to Digital Trends. Hill is a journalist and the author of “Raw Deal: How the ‘Uber Economy’ and Runaway Capitalism Are Screwing American Workers.” He published an op-ed in the New York Times, arguing that the company needs more than just a leadership change if it’s going to turn a profit.

“Kalanick’s resignation, as well as his sell off of $2 billion in stock, likely reflects his realization that this money losing company has no future,” Hill wrote to DT. “Uber is losing billions of dollars because it is subsidizing at least 50% of every ride. In the ultimate irony, the more people use Uber, the more money it loses. At some point Uber will have to either double its prices and lose customers or go out of business. It looks like Kalanick is betting that it will be the former.”

Kalanick was forced out as Uber’s CEO in 2017 after an avalanche of scandals — a series of stories culture of sexual harassment at the company and the lack of response to Uber riders who reported being assaulted had Kalanick’s reputation as a precocious disrupter looking abusive and callous. The revelation of Uber’s “greyball” app — a fake app the company installed on the phones of people Uber suspected of being regulators, which allowed the company to get around inspections — as well as several other unsavory stories rocked the company and proved untenable with Kalanick’s continued leadership, although he remained on the board.

The company still faces challenges around the world for its culture of “disruption.” In November the city of London — Uber’s biggest European market — refused to renew its license to operate, citing persistent safety concerns that remained unaddressed (not the first time this had happened to the company in London), and in the last weeks of December, a German court banned Uber in the entire country, effective immediately. The company said it is still deciding whether to appeal the verdict.

Uber has not yet responded to a request for comment, and it’s not clear if there will be a replacement for Kalanick on the board.

“Very few entrepreneurs have built something as profound as Travis Kalanick did with Uber,” CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a statement. “I’m enormously grateful for Travis’ vision and tenacity while building Uber, and for his expertise as a board member. Everyone at Uber wishes him all the best.”

A number of Twitter users from Northern Nigeria have expressed outrage after the Saudi Ministry of Justice announced the prohibition of marriage of persons under 18 years.

Saudi Arabia set 18 years as the minimum age for marriage, the Saudi Gazette reports.

This development angered some Muslims from northern Nigeria and they condemned this move.

Twitter user @AY_Zarewa said this move will increase fornication among young people and he warned that such laws should not be brought to Nigeria. He also prayed that the law banning underage marriage in Saudi will be reversed.

Yesterday, on Christmas Eve, a 15 year old girl from London committed suicide. A local paper published her suicide note – with the acquiescence of her family.

Its Christmas-time, and studies show most suicides take place during the Christmas holiday season.

It’s with a heavy heart that I write you this note, knowing the amount of pain it is going to cause you.

Mom, I want you to know that I love you dearly and will ever love you. If I am given the opportunity to live again I will still choose you as my mom and our family will still be my place of birth.

But unfortunately, I know that there is not going to be any such opportunity.

Mom, I didn’t want to do this, but I was compelled by circumstances beyond my control to take the plunge.

I tried my best to pull through, but my best was not good enough. I battled alone for about thirteen months now until my strength failed me.

You and dad could not decipher what I was going through and maybe I should not blame you for that.

My one and only brother came very close to understanding what I was passing through but it was too much for his young mind to comprehend.

Mom, I know that you and dad loved me and did everything you could to prove that to me but I was not feeling loved.

You provided for me more than I even wanted, took me to places that most of my mates have not even heard of, yet despite all these, my heart was longing for love.

I needed someone who would love me for who I was. I needed someone who could reach the depth of my soul and feel the vacuum there.

The material provisions you spoiled me with could not do that. And I was alone all the while, despite the fact that we laughed together and had gist as a family.

Then came the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

President of Kingsway International Christian Centre Global, Matthew Ashimolowo, has said the fact that corruption can only be reduced if you have order and a system that wipes out the act.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Newsnight programme, Ashimolowo expressed that President Muhammadu Buhari requirements subordinates that can pilot the extramarital relationships.
