To add to my submission, I can tell you that even Private companies practice quota system. Yes they do. For example, a company that has offices in different part of the country would like to have employees from many part of the country to favor their business. But in doing so, they go for the best available from the recruitment screening.

Even in so called advanced countries. For example, even at institutions like Havard and Stanford, SAT score consideration can be lower for Black and Hispanic than for the white.

Please is there anyone that hasn't received APL yet? I am worried because I am yet to receive mine and others have received theirs since last week. I live in Kaduna.

Take it or leave it An average southerner is more intelligent than an average northerner and the FCC something favors the educationally backward states like Zamfara, yobe, kebbi, taraba etc. Let the FCC be scrapped and only the best should be favored irrespective of region or tribe on the long run it will make everybody sit up.
PS I am not taking anything from the Northerners as I schooled in the North and I have met some of them who Are savants in academics.

Intelligent? Really? You may need to check what that word means. On the average, literacy rate is higher in the South. But intelligence, perhaps I don't know what that means.

Most Southerners that study in the North, are below average of a typical Southerner. It's mostly frustration of not getting admission in the South or due to rustication, that made some of them to study in the North, because of easier admission entry requirements and lower competition.

You are also wrong. Most people come to the North because there are fewer applicants from the North, so the feel they can get in easily. There are people who have high academic abilities and still come to the North. I met a first-class graduate from University of Uyo who said to me she thought I studied abroad. I also met a smart friend during my service who confessed to me that he thought Northerners are dull. Yeah there is lower competition. But most Southerners that come the North cannot also be compared to top students from the North. There is lower competition. But that is also changing because more and more people are going to school in the North recently and it is becoming difficult for Southerners to get in, not because they aren't good, but because there are better candidates from the North.

The phrase "Federal Character" means merit has been sacrificed already! Hence you can never claim that the any process that is subject to federal character is on merit, because federal character implies that some people who are less performing, say, from the educationally less developed States, will find their way in, above candidates who totally flawed them from the educationally advanced states.

How do you deny a candidate from the south-south who scored 80% and allow a candidate from the north-east who scored 40%, and still have the audacity to say such a process was on merit? No! It's not. We've already used federal character to sacrifice merit in order to favour some folks. Ditto for why cut-off mark for entry into the Federal Government Colleges varies. A candidate from Zamfara State will have a cut-off mark of 23% & a candidate from Ogun State will have a cut-off mark of 85%, and you call that process merit-based? So, such a process lacks merit from the beginning once federal character principles apply.

Ask candidates that went for interview at the Towers and they will tell you for a fact that you hardly hear names from the geographical "upper" regions of the country when names were being called in the amphitheater. It was claimed that some powerful folks were not happy with that & decided to "adjust" the process to aid more people from those "upper" regions of the country to come in. For a process that started speedily to now take nine months between conclusion of interviews to issuance of APLs....

Lastly, note the use of the phrase "National Spread" which the NNPC used in its communique, it showed a desperation to validate the process. They've turned it to a game of luck.

You are wrong wrong wrong. Following the federal character does not mean people from the North are anything less. The percentage of educated people in this South is higher than that of the North, agreed. But that does mean that there are no good candidates in the North. I participated in competitions and beat people from the so called South. I won MIT scholarship and students from the South whom I took the same course with couldn't get it. I won international competitions that people from the South participated. During my studies, we had students from every parts of the country, but all the tree top students in our graduating class are from the core North.

You need to study in the North and then you will see the reality. Southerners who study in the North will hardly make the comment you made. The percentage may be different, but there are equally excellent and talented candidates from the North.

Chai.....despite having the certs, MSC, work experience & even ICT skills. This fefol actually excluded me from the APl. The interview itself was awesome, answered at least 70-80% of questions thrown at me.

Could it be because I refused to return king Ayam his extra transport fare? , I actually planned to give him face to face, too bad, I wasn't called.
