Akeredolu Flags Off Construction of First Privately Owned Gas Inland LPG Terminal, Oil Palm Mills in Nigeria.

Says "Lagos already congested for Business, Investors Should Come to Ondo"

Thursday, June 10th, 2021

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Thursday flagged off the construction of the Nigeria's biggest privately owned Gas Terminal and Oil Palm Mills in Ore Industrial Park situated in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Akeredolu said the projects which are Public-Private Initiatives, are in furtherance of the commitment of his administration towards transforming the state to the economic and industrial hub of Nigeria

The Projects, the 2,000 Megatonnes Alles Charis LPG Inland Terminal and the Red Gold Oil Palm Mills, were flagged off in commemoration of his 100 days in office as a second term Governor.

The LPG Inland Terminal and Red Gold Project is a Public-Private Partnership between the Ondo State Government and Private Investments.

Speaking at the event, Akeredolu assured the people of the State that his administration will continue to intensify conscious efforts to ensure the growth of existing industries in the State as well as creating an enabling environment to attract new investors.

He explained that upon the inception of his Government in the year 2017, the state could not boast of having any industry, however his government has now attracted numerous industries into the State.

Akeredolu said through the Ore Industrial Park, over 120,000 jobs opportunities will be created in the State. He also expressed high optimism that the LPG plant will catapult Ondo State as the nation's LPG distribution nerve center.

Speaking on the Red Gold Project, the Governor stated that Ondo State has a comparative advantage in Palm Oil Cultivation over other states and nations across the world and his government will ensure that it fully develop the facility that will bring in millions for the State.

PoliticsConstitution Review: Return To Use Of The 19th Constitution- Akeredolu by mutumina007(op): 3:57pm On May 26, 2021
Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday, backed the call for the country to return to the use of the 1963 Constitution.

Governor Akeredolu spoke while declaring open the Zonal Public hearing of the review of the 1999 Constitution held at the Cultural and International Event Centre, Akure.

Akeredolu stated that the powers of the federal government must be trimmed down as it was the major of friction in the country and politics of bitterness.

He warned that the current attempt at the Constitution amendment should be taken beyond the usual jamboree conceived and executed to arrive at predetermined result.

The Ondo Governor said the 1963 Constitution which reflected the Republican status of the country remained the best document for a country as heterogeneous as Nigeria.

He said it was the best practicable guide towards nationhood but was abolished by the military by imposing a unitary system on the country.

According to him, “The current exercise, therefore, must not toe the path of the previous attempts at tokenism. The basic law of any country must not be reduced to frivolities reflecting preferred whimsies. It must not be oppressive of the minorities. Its provisions must indeed give teeth to the primary purpose for which the government exists. No provision of the law must not be justiciable as Chapter Two of the current 1999 Constitution seeks to impress on us.

“All the agitations of the peoples of this country must be looked into with a view to improving the economic power of the average citizens. The best way possible is to allow each region flower in its areas of comparative advantage. The behemoth called the Federal Government must shed the excess weight unduly appropriated over time. It is the major cause of friction. It is the reason for the politics of bitterness. It explains why everyone wants the power at the centre. It promotes ethnic chauvinists and encourages mediocrity.

“The new law must view, critically, the current misnomer which sees the Federal Government appropriating humongous amounts for moribund agencies whose duties overlap with those of the states. The fiscal policy of the country must be restructured to encourage ingenuity and uncommon resourcefulness. The Federal Government should only coordinate and receive royalties. The current system is not sustainable. All of us are beginning to appreciate this fact.

“The current exercise will derive its legitimacy if taken to the people for revalidation. Nothing must be taken for granted. Everyone must be treated as an equal partner in this whole enterprise of nation-building.”

“No patriotic citizen can deny the fact that the country faces dire challenges at the moment which, in themselves, bear the necessary ingredients for redefinition, determination, growth and eventual development. The movement towards social integration must be steady and focused.”

EventsBola Tinubu Celebrates His 69th Birthday Today by mutumina007(op): 7:01am On Mar 29, 2021
Happy Birthday to an example of a technocrat as political hero. From all of us at COSGABAT.

Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (born 29 March 1952) is a Nigerian politician and a national leader of the All Progressives Congress. He was Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007.

Early life
Tinubu was born on 29 March 1952 in Osun State, Nigeria. His mother, Abibatu Mogaji, was a trader that later became the Iyaloja of Lagos.

Education
He attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children's Home School in Ibadan, South West of Nigeria. Tinubu then went to the United States in 1975, where he studied first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Early career
Tinubu worked for the American companies Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation.[3] After returning to Nigeria in 1983, Bola Tinubu joined Mobil Oil Nigeria, and later became an executive of the company.

Governor of Lagos State
When he assumed office in May 1999, Tinubu promised 10,000 housing units for the poor with little achieved. During the eight-year period of his being in office, he made large investments in education in the state and also reduced the number of schools in the state by returning many schools to the already settled former owners. He also initiated new road construction, required to meet the needs of the fast-growing population of the state.

Tinubu, alongside a new deputy governor, Femi Pedro, won re-election into office as governor in April 2003. All other states in the South West fell to the People's Democratic Party in those elections. He was involved in a struggle with the Olusegun Obasanjo-controlled federal government over whether Lagos State had the right to create new Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to meet the needs of its large population. The controversy led to the federal government seizing funds meant for local councils in the state. During the latter part of his term in office, he was engaged in continuous clashes with PDP powers such as Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Lagos State senator who had become minister of works, and Bode George, the southwest chairman of the PDP.

Relations between Tinubu and deputy governor Femi Pedro became increasingly tense after Pedro declared his intention to run for the gubernatorial elections. Pedro competed to become the AC candidate for governor in the 2007 elections, but withdrew his name on the eve of the party nomination. He defected to the Labour Party while still keeping his position as deputy governor. Tinubu's tenure as Lagos State Governor ended on 29 May 2007, when his successor Babatunde Fashola of the Action Congress took office.

Personal life
He is a Muslim. Tinubu is married to Oluremi Tinubu, the current Senator of the Lagos Central Senatorial District. His nephew, Adewale Tinubu is the CEO of Oando Plc. His mother, Chief Abibatu Mogaji, died on the 15th of June 2014, at the age of 96. On the 31st of October 2017, his son Jide Tinubu had a heart attack while in London and was later confirmed dead.

*CRITICS OF TINUBU'S ₦50M DONATION FOR THE VICTIMS OF KATSINA CENTRAL MARKET INFERNO ARE CALLOUS*

The fire incidence that engulfed the Katsina Central Market is so devastating and different government delegations have been condoling with Governor Aminu Bello Masari and the victims who lost their valuables worth millions of naira.

Interestingly, a well meaning Nigerian and development driven personality, The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu gave reasons to heave a sigh of relief with the donation of N50m to cushion the effect of the unfortunate incidence.

While this has been generating a large magnitude of applause across the country, some ignorants and 'I never chop' media goons still allow themselves to be used into condemning the kind gesture of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this regards.

The Coalition of Support Groups for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (COSGABAT) hereby advises the public to see the faceless sponsors of such move as callous, cruel and vindictive elements who never mean well for the nation. Thus, the group implores the general public to disregard them but encourage the people who have been showing kind gesture to the victims.
