Politics / Breaking:ondo D’gov Under Fire For Call To Take Over Within 21 Days by mutumina007: 8:53am On Jul 05, 2020
Reactions have continued to trail the 21 days ultimatum given the Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to hand over government to his deputy ,Agboola Ajayi following Akeredolu’s Covid19 status.

On Tuesday, Governor Akeredolu disclosed he had tested positive for COVID-19, but allayed the people’s fears by asserting he would continue working from self-isolation.

Following this development, some supporters of the deputy governor have commenced a social media pressure on Akeredolu to hand over to Ajayi.

Briefing newsmen in Akure, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said aside the loss of trust and alleged treachery on Ajayi’s part, governance was not grounded, as Akeredolu remained active in the line of duty.

In a reaction, Tope Okeowo, Ajayi’s press secretary indicated he (Ajayi) “was not prepared to step in for Governor Akeredolu, since he was not incapacitated.”

But in less than 10 hours , the Deputy governor made a U turn ,insisting that Akeredolu remained partially incapacitated, and had no choice than to hand over the reins of governance to him. He gave Akeredolu a 21-day ultimatum to effect the process.

The statement by Agboola’s media adviser ,Allen Sowore reads “Ordinarily, one expects Mr Governor to bring to bear on governance his background as a lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, (SAN). But it is rather surprising and worrisome that the Governor has chosen the part of perversion of justice, by allowing his close aides to go astray in a matter of constitutionality.

Section 190(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) is apposite in the prevailing constitutional abberration in Ondo State. On our part, we will continue to pray fervently for Mr Governor’s quickest recovery.

However, it should be noted, that Mr Governor is at liberty to handover or not within 21 days after which the constitution becomes operational.

Ostensibly, the refusal and failure of Mr Governor to handover the running of government to his deputy while he is temporarily incapacitated in self- isolation underscore his absolute disregard for our nation’s supreme document, 1999 Constitution (as amended) as well as the tenets of rule of law. The Governor’s position is a spite on the Ondo State people and a direct assault on the provisions of the constitution which he swore to uphold.”

Meanwhile, the social media have been awash with reactions from the people who think the call was inapt.

Politics / BREAKING: Count Me Out Of Impeachment Plot Against Agboola – Akeredolu by mutumina007: 6:43pm On Jun 29, 2020
Count me out of impeachment plot against Agboola – Akeredolu

For the umpteenth time, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu Aketi SAN, has washed his hands clean of any impeachment plot against his Deputy, Agboola Ajayi.
Akeredolu said the Deputy Governor’s ranting over his alleged impeachment was borne out of his own shadows hunting him.

A Media Aide to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Allen Sowore had in an open letter to the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly claimed that a secret meeting was being conveyed to impeach Agboola Ajayi.

In a swift reaction yesterday by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo described the alleged impeachment plot as tissues of lies and misadventurous propaganda.
According to the Governor, “The totality of untruths previously marketed to oil the mis-steps is obviously hunting the man who had hyped himself out of relevance.

“It is perhaps, illogical that the Governor with minority in the Assembly will be inviting the Deputy Governor’s majority for what they feel appropriate for their imaginary thoughts.”
He said he had kept quiet to allow the lies of his adversaries to fight his battles on his behalf.

Agboola Ajayi recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

WE ARE NOT FOLLOWING YOU TO PDP DESPITE INDUCEMENTS- Ese-Odo LG APC Secretary, others tell Agboola Ajayi

The well-publicized defection of Agboola Ajayi from the ruling APC to the PDP suffered its first reality shock on Sunday as majority of the members of the APC in Ese Odo Local Government Area rejected his inducements and refused to follow him to the PDP.

The Secretary of the APC, Ese-Odo LG chapter, Ajayi's own local government chapter, Hon. Tob Loko, dissociated himself and his people from what he described as " ...betrayal of leadership and attempt to undermine the government...".

Hon. Loko had rebuffed the monetary and material entreaties offered by the defecting Ajayi to lure the unwilling members of APC in his local government chapter to follow him to his new party.

Loko told Agboola Ajayi that himself and other good members of the party in the local government who had tolerated him for this while will not join him in his way to political destruction.

Politics / BREAKING: Ondo State Govt Denies Jubilation In State Over Sack Of Oshiomhole by mutumina007: 7:00pm On Jun 18, 2020
THE Ondo state government Thursday described as untrue and mischievous the report that there were jubilations in the state over court verdict that suspended the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole. Information and Orientation Commissioner Donald Ojogo said this in Akure at a press conference.

Ojogo said ” Every well-meaning member of the party was concerned when the Appeal Court gave its verdict. “The level of concern may vary but as leaders and members of APC in Ondo State we were greatly concerned not because of any personal reason but because we felt that the party didn’t need whatever intrigues that may shake the table at this point in time. ”

So, like every other member of the party nationwide, we were all concerned. ” We found very shocking when a news item that was promoted in one of these platforms saying that supporters of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu were jubilating over the decision of the appeal court. “We have resolved that we must put the record straight.

We are coming to this point not because we’re rattled by the report but we see it as a very untoward part and it is a trajectory we must stop from flourishing. “The author of that report in all intents and purposes wanted to create an unexisting frosty relationship between Mr Governor and the leadership of the APC.

“By every standard and by every yardstick that could be deployed to measure anything, Mr Governor is the leader of the party and as such, he will be so disturbed if there are crisis in the party. ” So, that report we found very very unpleasant. We saw the report as product of a willful machination by an unimportant journalist. That is if at all he is a journalist.

“We need to put the record straight because unsuspecting public. Not everybody in the public will be so enlightened to know that, that particular report was a hatchet job created by those who believed that they must create problems within the rank and file of the party. “It was masterminded clearly by those who believe that the very cordial relationship between Mr. Governor and the leaders of the party, whether at the state level here or at the national level will not serve their interest properly. “

That report was utterly mischievous, it’s non-existent and shows how shallow somebody might want to appear using a credible platform. The commissioner added that “we would have to come out without hesitation to clearly state when some miscreants will want to hide under credible platforms to dish out their personal sentiments against the people of the state and against government and that is the reason we felt we must come out to dispel this story”.

Investment / AFRICA'S YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS VILLAGE RELOCATES TO AKURE FOR PEACEFUL AMBIENCE by mutumina007: 4:39pm On Feb 20, 2020
In line with the commitment to achieve his administration's cardinal point of Job creation through entrepreneurship, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN, on Thursday performed an innovative ceremony of the World's first Africa's Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) Village.

The entrepreneurship village, situated adjacent the International Event and Culture Center (DOME), will be built by the AYE, with the provision of land by the state government as a means of support and partnership.

The Africa's Young Entrepreneurs is a platform with a vision to successfully develop Africa’s budding entrepreneurs through mutual networking with established captains of industries.

The A.Y.E brings learning, resources and business acumen, with the aim of developing young entrepreneurs within the ages of 18 - 45, with 12.6 million members in 20 African Countries.

Governor Akeredolu, who performed the ground breaking ceremony, said the village, when completed, will address the challenges of skilled labour shortage posing serious problems in the country.

Arakunrin Akeredolu believed that, with the existence of the village, it will prepare the people, particularly the youths for the Deep Sea Port which his administration is vigorously pursuing.

The Governor explained that the establishment of an Entrepreneurship village in the state capital will change the narrative of the state from a civil service state into one where entrepreneurs who will turn out to be employers of labour will abound.

A. Y. E, led by the President, Summy Francis, thanked the Governor for providing the support needed to achieve the dream of the organisation to build the world first entrepreneurship center.

Francis explained that his choice of the state was because of the peace and the stability in the state.
