Yearly a great deal of admission seekers goes through the pain of writing JAMB UTME And thereafter proceed to write post UME before they can gain admission into tertiary institution. Many a times it’s just few percentage of the hundreds of thousands candidates that passed UTME and even post JAMB that do ultimately secured admission IJMB is a unique level programme for undergraduate seeking admission into any university of their choice. You will be admitted into 200 level, without writing UTME, or POST UME. IT IS A PROGRAMME THAT RUNS FOR NINE MONTHS, AND ACCOMMODATES STUDENTS FROM ALL FIELDS. Upon successful completion of the programme, you can buy direct entry forms and apply for any school of your choice.

Most candidate who failed either in Jamb or Post Utme in the past always do this program to secure admission into 200level and meet their colleagues in 200 level. The good news is that a lot of candidates are entering into the university via IJMB programme as its provides a unique platform for realizing your dream of university education-even more better than JAMB because it aids in securing admission into 200 LEVEL upon completion.

IJMB short time duration
IJMB short time duration saves lot of money and time for both parents/guardian and students as it run for just nine (9) months unlike other equivalent ND program which run for approximately two (2) years or NCE program that run for approximately three (3) years which in the end gain you admission into the same 200level. But with IJMB, gaining direct entry admission is fast, safe and very convenient where parent parent/guardian don't have to spend much money as it is for just a period of nine months and the students on the other hand won't have to wait too long before gaining admission into the university.

Crime / Pray For Nigeria Also... A Must Read by muyeskin(m): 7:46am On Nov 15, 2015
Everybody is mourning with France today...I mourn too. 200 people were killed at six different locations. The loss of a life is worth mourning. I condemn terrorism in strong terms. But isn't this a way of simply saying some humans are better than the others? Boko Haram has killed more than 17,000 people between 2009 and now. No western country ever mourned with Nigeria the way the world mourns today. 17,000 innocent souls -fathers, mothers, children, the elderly and the young, these people were only considered as numbers. Are Africans less of humans? The most amazing is our Nigerian people too creating different kinds of DP's, animations etc just to identify with the mourning west, get me right I have nothing against mourning the loss of innocent lives but I dislike double standards, if we can mourn the loss of 200 people this way then I think Nigeria deserves a whole year worth of public holiday just to mourn our 17,000+ people lost to the inhumanity of terrorism.
Happy Sunday

Health / When It Comes To Genotype, Love Isn't Enough (beware) by muyeskin(m): 7:49am On Jul 21, 2015
The concerned mother was frantic. Her son who has sickle cell disorder had developed priapism – an abnormal and often painful persistent erection of the penis – which happens to be one of the many complications sickle cell patients encounter as they battle the disorder. Being a medical emergency, the worried mother was advised to take her son to the hospital without further delay; else, the engorged tissues might die and this might affect her son’s virility if he survives the ordeal. If this unnamed mother is lucky to still have her child alive, the Dickson-Ibekwes are not; they lost their daughter, Angela, an undergraduate student of Economics at Bells University of Technology, Sango Ota, Ogun State, to the complications of sickle-cell disease about five years ago. This is a small glimpse into the world of SCD, where affected families virtually engage in daily battles to keep their affected children alive. Dr. Kunle Adedayo explains that SCD is a genetic disease. Those who have it inherit two genes for sickle haemoglobin – one from each parent. He says, “Sickle haemoglobin causes red blood cells to develop a sickle, or crescent, shape. Sickle cells are stiff and sticky. They tend to block blood flow in the blood vessels of the limbs and organs. Blocked blood flow can cause pain and organ damage. It can also raise the risk for infection.” Experts say in sickle cell patients, crises are a given, as the abnormal red blood cells can sometimes clog sections of blood vessels, leading to episodes of pain, which can be severe. “These episodes, a.k.a vaso-occlusive crisis, are generally known as sickle cell crisis,” they say. Adedayo says while normal cells are regularly replaced in healthy people, among sickle cell patients, abnormal blood cells have a shorter life-span and are not replaced as quickly as normal cells. “This leads to a shortage of red blood cells (anaemia), with the attendant tiredness and breathlessness, especially after any physical exertion. Worse, patients may sometimes need blood transfusion to curtail the anaemia,” the physician explains. Adedayo points out that normal red blood cells move easily through the blood vessels, taking oxygen to every part of the body. “But sickled cells can get stuck and block blood vessels, which stops the oxygen from getting through. This can cause a lot of pain in the hands, feet, belly, back and chest, which may last for hours or days. The crisis can also harm organs, muscles, and bones,” he notes. Physicians warn that the potential complications of sickle cell anaemia include stroke, acute chest syndrome – where the lungs suddenly lose their ability to take in oxygen, often as a result of infection; increased vulnerability to infection; and pulmonary hypertension – where the blood pressure inside the blood vessels that run from the heart to the lungs becomes dangerously high. Physicians warn that anything could trigger crisis in a sickle cell patient, and these include cold temperatures, wind, dehydration, and too much exercise. “Again, when sickle cell patients are exposed to low oxygen as a result of cigarette smoke, or if they are exposed to high altitude like mountain climbing or air travels, they can develop vaso-occlusive crisis,” Adedayo warns. He also discloses that though doctors are not able to predict which symptoms a child born with sickle cell disease will have, when they will start, or how serious they will be, once diagnosed via a simple blood test, the patient must be placed on antibiotics from two months of age till age five in order to prevent infection. “This is in addition to taking the routine childhood immunisations,” Adedayo counsels. G uard against having a ‘sickler’ Many Nigerians don’t know their genotype, while some confuse it with blood group; but knowing one’s genotype is very necessary if couples – especially those preparing for marriage – must save themselves and their offspring from a lifetime of pain. Sickle cell disease is inherited, which means it is passed from parents to children as part of their genetic make-up. Parents cannot give SCD to their children unless they both have the faulty hemoglobin in their red blood cells. “To get SCD, a child has to inherit two sickle cell genes – one from each parent. When a child inherits the (sickle cell) gene from just one parent, that child has sickle cell trait, which means he does not have the disease but he is a ‘carrier’ and could pass it on to his children,” Adedayo explains. “Sickle cell disease is a blood disorder in which the body produces an abnormal type of the oxygen-carrying substance, hemoglobin, in the red blood cells. Normal hemoglobin is called hemoglobin A, but people with sickle cell disease have only hemoglobin S, which turns normal, round red blood cells into abnormally curved (sickle) shapes. “Normally, a person inherits two genes (one from each parent) that produce beta-globin, a protein needed to produce normal hemoglobin (hemoglobin A). A person with sickle cell trait inherits one normal beta-globin gene (hemoglobin A) and one defective gene (hemoglobin S) – what is medically referred to as AS.” Doctors say people with sickle cell trait rarely have health issues because they also have some normal hemoglobin; but they can pass the sickle cell gene to their children. In other words, when two people who have sickle cell traits (AS) marry, they can produce a child with hemoglobin S – SS, a.k.a, child with sickle cell disease. “Both parents must have either the sickle cell trait or the disease itself for a child to have sickle cell disease,” Adedayo says. The ugly numbers Here’s the frightening statistics: If you and your partner both have sickle cell trait (AS), your child has a 25 per cent chance of being born with sickle cell disorder (SS). If only one of you has sickle cell trait (AS), your child cannot be SS, but there is a 50 per cent chance that your child will be AS. If one parent is SS and one parent is AS, there is a 50 per cent chance that their children will be SS. Doctors therefore advise intending couples to know their genotypes and forgo relationships that can lead to the birth of a child with this painful disorder.

Health / Protect Your SPERM. It Is Delicate (TIPS) by muyeskin(m): 7:38am On Jul 21, 2015
If you and your partner are planning a pregnancy, then the health of your sperm is very important. However, you need to understand the various factors that can affect male fertility, and that’s why you need to consider the following steps in order to help your sperm become top performers. 1. Do not have unprotected sex. Sexually- transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhoea and Chlamydia, can damage the sperm- producing cells that block the tubes carrying sperm from the testis to the penis. 2. Avoid pesticides that control pests in the garden and on the farm. Such chemicals can damage the sperm-reproducing organs. 3. Avoid insecticides that are usually sprayed to kill mosquito. Such chemicals can damage the sperm-reproducing organs. Therefore, if you must spray your room against mosquitoes, allow at least one hour before going back into the room. 4. Avoid exposure to lead fumes generated in the manufacture of small cell batteries and in bullets. Such fumes can reduce sperm count through their negative effects on the hormones and the testis. 5. Avoid exposure to heavy metals like cadmium from the manufacture of heavy batteries, as they negatively affect the hormones. 6. Avoid exposure to paint fumes and plastic softening chemicals like phthalates; hydrocarbons such as ethylbenze, benzene, toluene and xylene, as they destroy the sperm-producing cells and hormones. 7. Minimise exposure to electromagnetic radiation, as the sperm germ cells are very easily damaged by the gamma rays. 8. Minimise exposure to radiation, as the sperm germ cells are very easily damaged by radiation. 9. Avoid fumes generated by welders and iron smelters, as their heat can affect sperm production and lead to low sperm count. 10. Avoid exposure to accumulated old newsprints, as the carbon can lead to low sperm count. 11. Avoid wearing tight pants and trousers, as the heat generated can cause low sperm count. 12. Avoid children with mumps, as having mumps in childhood can cause irreversible damage to the testis. Therefore, never allow a male to visit other children that have mumps. 13. Minimise your consumption of alcohol, as drinking to excess can cause low sperm count and also reduce libido, causing you to have a low sex drive. 14. Do not smoke, as cigarette smoking can damage the testis and lower the sperm count, lower the ability of sperm to move and lower the lifespan of the sperm. 15. Do not eat too much saturated fat, as they reduce the efficiency of the hormones and enzymes that help in the sperm production process. 16. Do not eat food or supplements with soya beans, as soya beans convert to the female hormone oestrogen, which tends to neutralise the male hormone testosterone, which is needed for men to reproduce sperm. 17. Minimise your intake of refined carbohydrate such as white flour, white bread and white rice, as they reduce the efficiency of the hormones and enzymes that help in the sperm reproduction process. Instead, eat more of the unrefined carbohydrate such as brown rice, wheat bread and oats. 18. Do not become constipated, as this can obstruct blood flow to the testis. Therefore, eat more dietary fibre. 19. Do not eat a poor diet, as this affects the quality of the sperm. Instead, eat more whole grains, vegetables and fruits. 20. Do not take artificial sweeteners such as nutrasweet, candarell and sweetex, as they reduce sperm count. 21. Avoid excessive consumption of raw lemon, as this may inhibit the enzymes responsible for sperm production and libido. 22. Do seek immediate medical help if one or both of the testes are un-descended from the abdominal cavity into the scrotal sac, as this can significantly reduce sperm production. 23. Do not sit for long periods of time in one position if you are a long distance driver, drive a small sport car, or a chief executive having many board meetings in leather chairs, as this can increase the temperature around the scrotum which can reduce sperm count. 24. Avoid traumatic injury around the testes, as this can damage the sperm-producing cells. 25. Avoid bicycling, as this can damage the tube carrying the sperm. 26. Avoid stress, as this can decrease the sperm count and lead to production of abnormal sperms. 27. Avoid obesity, as this can reduce blood flow to the testes, making the sperm production process more difficult and significantly reduce libido. 28. Avoid substance abuse like cocaine or heavy marijuana use, as this can lead to low sperm count and deformed sperms. 29. Avoid poor nutrition, as this affects the quality of the sperm. 30. Do not have children at a late age, as the quality of the sperm decreases with age, leading to more difficult conception and greater possibility of having children with deformities.
