🚨 SOUTH AFRICAN MAN ARRESTED IN THAILAND AFTER AUTHORITIES ALLEGEDLY DISCOVER 17.5KG OF HEROIN HIDDEN IN COFFEE AND GREEN TEA BAGS EN ROUTE TO MADAGASCAR 🇿🇦🇹🇭

Thai customs authorities have arrested a South African man after allegedly discovering 17.5 kilograms of heroin concealed inside coffee and green tea bags at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

According to authorities, the suspect was travelling from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, through Thailand, and was reportedly en route to Madagascar when the drugs were intercepted during customs inspections.

Officials estimate the seized heroin is worth 7.3 million Thai baht in Thailand, with its value reportedly increasing to more than 22.75 million baht if it had reached its intended destination.

The suspect has been charged under Thailand's Customs Act and Narcotics Code. The allegations remain before the courts, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

This man was once considered one of the top leaders of ISIS. The United States even placed a $10 million bounty on his head. He later returned to Syria and founded the Al-Nusra Front, a group widely regarded as even more brutal than ISIS. Later, he rebranded it as Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

For years, he carried out terr@rist operations in Syria. Thousands of civilians and Syrian soldiers lost their lives. The South African government has announced that it will seize and sell assets belonging to Nigerian immigrants found to be living in the country illegally, saying no compensation will be paid.

Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi said properties and other assets acquired by undocumented immigrants are regarded under South African law as proceeds of crime and will be forfeited to the state.

According to her, the funds raised from the sale of the confiscated assets will be used to strengthen crime-fighting efforts and support victims of crime in South Africa.

The announcement comes as Nigeria and several other African countries continue evacuating some of their citizens from South Africa following renewed xenophobic attacks.
