PlayerMeji:
APC cannot afford to not control 3 states in Nigeria, namely Lagos, Kano and Rivers states.

They already captured 2, now they want the third.

They know PDP gets funds from Rivers, that's explains why Wike is not a pushover in PDP.

The moment they capture Rivers will spell out THE END for PDP.

Lagos and Kano already done deeds.

APC sacrificed Osun and Adamawa to get Rivers, they know these states were more of a liability to them than others.
In SS and SE the people decide and not any larger than life political megalomania. This is not the feudalistic north or subservient west

They didn't control lagos.

They were given the opportunity to provide security in sections of Lagos island, while the Yorubas kept the ownership of their lands.

The ilaje controlled their own territory in Ondo, while Ijaw and some Edo influence controlled the rest to the East.

Yorubas, Fons and Guns controlled the sea side of the present day Benin Republic. cheesy
You are very funny. We are talking about ancient people when it was all about Conquest. Lol. They can't be guarding the land if they had not conquered it

I love this. Since you also discredited yoruba version. However, as a neutral person from the east I go with benin version. Even the name oduduwa sound so Benin. Unlike ezechime and akalaka which are purely igbo names adventurers from igbo to benin

It was simply named after the Empire of bini. it doesn't mean it now belongs to it.
Benin controlled the coast.

No! the oba of Lagos is believed to be a direct descendant of Oba of Benin, unlike other Yoruba kings

However, the plain truth is that the current oba of Lagos is not entirely a direct descendant of oba of bini. it is believed he is a mixture of an Ijesha man called Alagba and a descendant of Oba of bini.

More importantly, the oba of lagos has no land in lagos, the land on the island belongs to a Yoruba sub group known as the Awori (the red cap chiefs) E.g.

The Oba oniru

The Oba Elegushi

The Oni Koyi of ikoyi

etc.
All obas originate from benin. All emirs are fulani. Deal with it

This is not possible

No one will ever make such silly claims

Most Yoruba kings are Oduduwa offsprings is more like it.
Yorubas have been making that silly claims. Those yoruba kings are of benin origin as confirmed by oba of lagos. Original history is guarded in the palace. What you read from academic researches are adulterated for ego massaging

Lol... you guys will just come up with any trassh that comes to your brain.
In one breath Oduduwa is the father of Yorubas in another he came from Benin to rule Yoruba land.
A neutral person person will tell you the bini's hypothesis doesn't add up.
Archealogically, Ife is older than Benin. Logically, historically, demographically and scientifically, the binis are offshoot of the Yorubas.
You have more of Yoruba influence on the binis than vice versa.
Its the yorubas claiming that yorubas originated from oduduwa who fell from the sky. Ife being archaeologically older than benin mean nothing. Usman dan fodio came from futa jdalon and established the caliphate in northern city states, an event that is relatively recent in history

The history of most west African tribes is based on Fables and very little sound evidence. The attempt of Europeans to rewrite our history during the colonial era played a key role.
You see why yoruba historical supremacy tussle is absurd? They want to push their fabbles as facts, others can invent theirs as well.

From your argument " a prince of Benin is the father of the Yorubas"....Ok. now let's reason logically.
In Set theory, a subset can't be greater than the Universal set.
How come, the offspring of a prince of Benin (Oduduwa) kingdom (the Yorubas) is over 10 times the population/Size of the Bini kingdom itself. Bini is just an equivalent of the Ijebus, Oyos, Egbas, Ileshas (which are fractions/subset of the Yoruba) in size and population.
Can a rat give birth to an elephant?
Your arguments lacks logic.
Yorubas did not originate from oduduwa. Oduduwa met yorubas when he came up from benin. He settled and organized it into a state and ruled it

There was no Oba in Benin before Oranmiyan the son of Oduduwa.

They were called Ogiso
But the benin said that ogiso means king of the sky, how do you explain yoruba claim of oduduwa falling from the sky?

Igbo man what logical argument do you need? Is Oba not a Yoruba title? Non Yorubas are claiming the title and in your logical mind is fact?
The "Benin" word is a Yoruba words of Ile-ibinu (the land of vexation ).
The official language of Oba of Benin Palace was Yoruba language before it was banned

When their kings dies, he's buried in Ile Ife.

There are a lot of Yoruba representation in the Niger delta more pronounced than the Benin culture but Benin people will lay claims to it. we won't argue with Yoruba haters for now
And you forgot the impact of yoruba imperialism of the Western region era

Oduduwa was from Oke Ora [Ora Hills] in the eastern part of Ife. Ife East LGA covers the area even. Oduduwa was a local not a migrant from Bini or Mecca. He was a proper Ife man whose family is in Idio section of Ife where he lived & died.

To the Bini: did the lost Bini wanderer who ended up in Ughoton come with relatives to Ife?
The places you are mentioning were his abodes during transition from benin to ife

So you people can even lie that bini kingdom is second oldest kingdom after Egypt kingdom. That got me rolling. To start with, Egypt kingdom is not even the first kingdom. Benin kingdom that came into existence 40 years after oyo empire.

Benin kingdom came inv1440, oyo kingdom 1400.
These dates were fixed by academic revisionist. Dates can have up to 100years error during that period of history in sub saharan africa

No they are not

The Nupes also known as Tapa have often wandered into Yoruba land from time to time

For example, Oshodi is named after one such Nupe

It is also a known fact that Edos often wander in Yoruba territories and vice versa before the advent of Nigeria.

The dressing of Oduduwa looks more like Nupe than an Edo. Hence, the historians were lead to believe he might have traveled all the way from Saudi Arabia.

Other historical facts might have supported an Edo origin i.e. trapped in cage etc.
How did Nupe take benin title of oba? Instead of their own etsu title?

The orgin of Oduduwa is very controversial and hidden in the mulky waters of History

Some said he came from the Nupe enclaves

Some said he might come from Afamei land in Edo

Others claim he is a son of the ogiso.

There are enough evidence to back the three

Hence, it is best we leave it to proper historians
Those controversies are the handiwork of the inflated ego of yoruba revisionists
