HeavenlyBang:
MTN has had a Fibre broadband service for quite a while now but is now quickly expanding its coverage. I looked into it at the start of the year, and was happy to see them finally begin rollout in my estate months ago.
.

5. There are currently five plans, defined by bandwidth.

20mbps - 15k monthly
50mbps - 25k monthly
100mbps - 50k monthly
150mbps - 60k monthly
300mbps - 100k monthly

.

I was told they’ve removed the 15k plan. Could you please confirm.

Gshems:
I also use the hertz6. I usually get 20mbps but for the past 2 weeks, sometimes it goes as low as 500kbps. I can't stream anything but YouTube on 360p

The past 2 weeks has really been terrible, it takes forever to load pictures on my phone and some sites don’t even load pictures on my laptop. This ODU should definitely improve your speed.
I am weighing my options between FibreX and this at the end of the month.

Gshems:
I am thinking of getting this new odu router. Tho I already have an airtel router but recently network has been bad. High ping and latency which makes streaming problematic.. Will h getting the odu solve these issues for me

From the experiences of people here, you’re likely to see improvements.
I use the hertz6 router and on average I get 5mbps and below constantly, it goes up to 10mbps occasionally.
Yesterday people complained of experiencing bad network which was 15mbps, which to me would be great network. This alone indicates to me that I am going to have a better network when I eventually move to the ODU router.

de3lar:
Please does anyone knows how I can check when my ODU subscription will expire?

Check on your mobile app

Saw them laying the fibre cables on my street, I just wonder how long it’ll take them to test and go live.

Went on their website only to see that they’ve completely removed the available locations around me and replaced it with streets in Lagos , I guess they’re working on updates.

michlins:
Registered and paid for my ODU. Hopefully it comes in before Friday as my current subscription will expire by then

You finally got where to get it

akinremedy:
try to change your DNS server. It would solve that problem

What can I change it to?

asaleh96:
Basic 8/2 is 260k after deductions.
Allowances not included.

thank you

Meklex:
your router is the new version or old version?

Mine is the hertz6 router

Meklex:
I sometimes get this "DNS address could not be found" but the website will later open after a refresh

My router also barely have settings for better control.

Meklex:
I have good network on my ODU but sometimes to open some websites na wahala. Is there any settings I should touch?

When I am on my Airtel WiFi, it doesn’t load certain images on a course I am taking. I didn’t even realize until recently when I made use of my Mtn WiFi.

asaleh96:
I am trying to give you an accurate figure.
Just made my findings and it was NAMA that got 200% FAAN got about 25%.
NAMA is now approximately 460k +/-

Thank you.
For clarification, that’s monthly?
Any figure for FAAN? Even if it’s a range.

Asaleh96 please what’s the emoluments for NCAA and FAAN

dazzy4real:
I tried this POE i used for my former router that has an ODU just like this Airtel, but i was surprised it couldn't power the radio, cos the indicator was just red. What can we use as power bank ?

Was the selector in the 15v or 24v when you tried it?

NSEstudent:
For all of them?

Do you know anyone who has used physical sim on ODUs which were initially registered as esim?

That’s the antenna, and there are only 2variant which are identified by the chipset used.

I don’t have any close one making use of it, but by month end my neighbor and I(still weighing my options) may get it.

NSEstudent:
I thought one would see the sim when it's being registered. But you can check on the sides of the outdoor unit if there is a removable Sim card.

If you search “g5f” on YouTube, you’d see that there’s provision for sim, it’s just covered.

Airtel is driving me crazy!
It doesn’t load images and logos in some websites and environments.

Bitchiamjay:
GL 8 is 270K+ for FAAN

dunno about NCAA.

Thank you

Please someone should assist with NCAA and FAAN salary. I am just making preparations towards next year/cycle of employment.

asaleh96:
So FAAN and NAMA got 200% increment and you guys kept mute?
Issoryt!
Whoever said Ajaokuta Steel doesn't have staff isn't informed on it.
If you have the connect even today you you can get in....and they've staff quarters that is not so bad

What’s their current remuneration? You can give the range if you don’t want to mention the exact figure

dustmalik:
The highlighted on the screenshot is for those who claim MTN FibreX is not susceptible to vandalism. This is coming from the Chief Broadband Officer of MTN himself.

FibreX doesn't just appear in your estate. There are miles-long laid cables that lead to your estate, eventually connected to poles in your estate.

True. The head of NCC was recently praising ONSA for arresting/disbanding some cartel destroying Fibre lines.

I was about to post this. The person definitely viewed this thread, using that picture.

Hello, I sent an email

fuckboys:
let him turn on 5G Optimization in the router settings.

IYGEAL:
You mean ODU or the ZLT X25?

X25 has an option where you chose 5G optimization or something like that. When you do that, you don't see the 5GHz SSID for devices that support but see the main SSID. What happens is that devices which support 5GHz will connect to the main SSID as 5GHz whereas all others will connect to the main SSID as 2.4GHz. You will know which one is connected to which one when you login to the router interface and check the connections.

If you don't select that optimization option, however, and your PS5 doesn't see the 5GHz SSID, it can mean a few things:
1. The PS5 does not support 5GHz. Many devices don't.
2. There is a strong enough barrier that blocks the 5GHz signal. You already said there is a wall. Most walls won't block it but still...

5GHz, while faster, is prone to physical barrier blockages, and it travels smaller distance than 2.4GHz. You can still have good enough speeds with 2.4GHz, depending on your use case.

I’ll relay your suggestions to him, thanks

My neighbor uses the 5g router, his PS5 sees the 2.5ghz but not the 5ghz even though it’s just in the next room separated by a wall. He has to connect his phone to it then share it to his PS5. Anyone experiencing this or with a solution?

Mohisah:
okay this means Nimasa pays 100k+ & FAAN 65k then
Abdull01 shebi naso nau😁

Abeg what does FAAN pay?

Bankyshinani:
Please, I need a recommendations on the type of 3.2-3.5kva inverter to buy? I almost buy a smarten inverter 3.2kva but on researching I learnt it can work with lithium battery......I want to use 2 tubular batteries for now but will later upgrade to lithium battery as there is no funds for now?...
Please it urgent before I spend the money

Indicating your budget will help people make suggestions accordingly.

akinremedy:
House please, is there a way out for anyone who has exhausted his Airtel sim registration slots to register new sims aside going to unlink those numbers at Airtel offices? Someone said if you retrieve a number that it will free up a slot. How true is it?

Doesn’t retrieving translate to reactivating a number? That doesn’t feel like freeing up space.

akinremedy:
this my oga na thug o!

Make no body vex Abeg, the speed I am seeing is peppering me :. . Fingers crossed for end of the month.

IYGEAL:
Because of lawlessness; if not, the device is obviously theirs and you signed.

Yeah true. Same lawlessness is the reason why I’ll pay for 20mbps and they’ll be giving me below 5mbps.
