Business / Re: Oil Production: $4 Per Barrel In Saudi Arabia, $3 In Russia, $21.2 In Nigeria by MYMINDER(m): 2:56pm On Jun 02, 2020
3 major differences:

1. Production levels per day are a lot higher than Nigeria: Economies of Scale. Russia is about 11m and Saudi Arabia is 12m while Nigeria is barely 2m.

2. Better infrastructure in place.

3. Falsification of production costs (higher then actual) to encourage corruption and malfeasance.

You guys should see it beyond your circle of imagination. How true is this epidemic outbreak in Nigeria. We never can tell if the guy knows the truth behind the disease. I haven't seen any real case before. All i see is livescore. And how comes COVID-19 patients could get the strength to protest over inadequate facilities at their isolation centre. Let's think about the whole thing. On a norms, people die everyday. So I'm not really surprise if I see the livescore on death.
Let's stay tune and see how this epidemic will end. God bless us and keep us safe from all dangers and calamities.

Well, most Nigerians rely on what they can earn from day to day, and this covid of a thing has impeded their ability to earn money.

Add the fact that less than 3000 people have tested positive (may change by 12 midnight tonight)...out of 200million Nigerians. It is like a drop in the ocean.

You are far more likely to meet someone with malaria than with covid.

It is sad, but people want to get back to normal. And people are scared. And fear makes people unreasonable. You can't blame them

Nigeria is not doing enough testing.

Hopefully, those who couldn't get a job after December will be reinstated

If we all have the mindsets of establishing our own businesses, employers will be begging us to work as it happens in the US agribusiness today

I remember we were constantly reminded in school to graduate with a second-class upper division so as to get a good job. Lecturers rarely talked about being self-employed.

I hope things have changed now though

Lying is a favorite past time in Nigeria. The laid off employees are PERMANENTLY GONE! Access Bank is struggling. COVID-19 is a just an acceptable cover up.

Access Bank is not a retail minded bank and acquired Diamond Bank because of its retail strength. Many Diamond bank customers have left the bank and pulled their deposits.

Romance / Nigerian Heterosexual Relationships In The Diaspora: Matters Arising by MYMINDER(m): 9:25pm On Apr 09, 2020

1. Nigerian men and women generally have a LOVE/HATE relationship in the diaspora. Can't be bothered with you when the going is good but can be bothered with you when your assistance is needed. Nigerians are generally wary of each other and that affects camarederie abroad. Being from Nigeria is NOT enough for a fellow Nigerian to be interested in bonding with a fellow Nigeria.

2. Tribalism still actively rears its ugly head in the diaspora. People are more open to connecting within ethnic group social circles and are largely disinterested in sincerely bonding with Nigerians outside of their "Nigerian tribe." This is the saddest for me as it fragments and stifles Nigerians from potentially wonderful platonic and romantic relationships.

3. Women in developed societies are trained by the environment to value CAREER and the resultant money over everything else INCLUDING GOD! This is NOT the Nigerian culture across any of our diverse ethnic groups. Nigerian women and men start seeing relationships as a means to an end instead of AN END in itself. Marriage is now more of a business transaction driven by selfish interests rather than love of an individual. Immediate expectation of financial comfort drives marriage interest before anything else instead of the friendship experience driving interest in marriage.

4. The Nigerian woman has been oppressed in the Nigerian society to a large extent and that pain and hurt held back is released with FREEDOM and FURY against her oppressors back home (Nigerian men). The Nigerian men are taken aback by this antagonistic attack and fight back to preserve their dominance from back home in a foreign home. Disaster strikes! Both sides should compromise and adjust to their new found surroundings; neither do and the combustible engine explodes leaving hate and misery in its wake.

5. Nigerian women treat Nigerian men without permanent residency (at the very least) as if they should never have been born. Nigerian men do not act the same way in comparison. It is an administrative matter that has been turned into some kind of weapon by the Nigerian woman to suck whateer self esteem is left out of their fellow Nigerian man. Women from other countries do not act this way in comparison. If they SINCERELY like you, then, they do whatever is necessary to ensure both of you stay together (physically). The paper or lack of paper does not impact their feelings of LOVE or lack of love for the man. This comment links back to point 3 where marriage is not about feelings but about a transactional checklist that feeds the woman's ego of importance.

6. PRIDE. Prove to ME why you are worthy of my time, attention and love the Nigerian woman says by action and words. The Nigerian man appears to want a maid instead of a wife and with marital laws favoring the woman in a skewed manner, she vehemntly resist and the battle line of the sexes is drawn DEEP. The Nigerian man wants to be worshipped for his perennial EGO boost while the Nigerian woman wants to DEFLATE the Nigerian man that has oppressed them for ages and continue to do so back home in Nigeria more often than not.

7. Self worth being determined by MONEY in the bank and not VALUES. Money continues to accumulate as Nigerians work hard while Values become worthless to potential partners and marriages are not sustainable without similar values that are strictly adhered to and respected.

Nigerian men and women need to SPEAK to each other and LISTEN to each other. Yes, Nigerian women are misbehaving but, there is a lot of PAIN and oppression from men that no one is willing to listen to them about and they are REACTING.

It is time to enjoy being friends with your country men and women and enjoy their company with all our similar behavioral traits and culture. The best way is when neither party feels USED. So, men keep your money in your wallet and women keep your legs closed FOR A START. Love can never grow where Trust is absent.

LET US START THE HEALING and be each others BEST FRIEND. Nigerian women are SPECIAL and Nigerian men are ROCKS. Let us come together and turn this SPECIAL ROCK into the DIAMOND that Nigerian relationships SHOULD BE no matter where you reside on planet earth.

Shalom!

A lot of hate on that site by Black American women against Africans and Nigerians especially. Not all, but enough to cause concern. Africans there are relatively quiet outside of the Africa forum because the "bully network" is strong whenever anyone speaks against one of them. I see it as more of an emotional support site for black american women. More of comforting each other and less of telling each other the truth. There are good discussions from time to time once the trolls and hate-filled fonts are ignored.

ibkayee:

I won’t say it’s completely sane lol but the discussions are a lot more diverse and mature. It’s a majority African American female forum but there are handfuls of subgroups who also participate e.g. Nigerian females

Go and read on the internet and gather all the facts you need. Turning her into a personal consultant really does not help both of you. Once again, it is not rocket science.

Nigeria is the 7th most populous nation in the world. What you wrote is not country defined. When a country has a large, MOBILE population, news goes round and it appears Nigerian men are the devil and men from anywhere else are Jesus. Divorce rates across board say otherwise. It is a numbers game. Nigerian men are MANY across the world. We stand out negatively and positively.

CinnamonTea:
Lmao, I know right. Non-Nigerian women here who date or have dated Nigerian men are also having a rethink. I met an Ethiopian girl (I'm calling her girl but she should be around my age) sometime last year. She was trying to sell me a product while I walking through a mall, stopped me because I look 23, lmao. We got to talking and turned out her last two exes were Nigerian who both cheated on her. And she's sooo pretty. She told me she can never date another Nigerian man. Also know a Caribbean lady (via work) who has a daughter with one. They actually met in London, she moved here because of him, helped him get papers and all, only for him to do a 360 on her. Their divorce was finalized last year. Nigerian men stay ruining their reputations. undecided

Yes to the distinction! There are differences between Canadian black men, Nigerian-Canadian men, fresh-off-the-boat Nigerian men who just arrived here, and home-based Nigerian men. Could you start a thread on this? smiley

Please sir, like how much would it cost to migrate to Canada and look for job. I graduated with Biochemistry. I don't mind odd jobs tho

Most people that have immigrated over the past 6 years has been through Canadian Express Entry permanent residency application. Plenty of information online to know the steps and apply. Take the time to read in depth about it.

Pretty straightforward if you are college educated and have working experience. Many Nigerians eager to leave the country have used this opportunity to do so.

There is no 'magic drug' for Coronavirus. Stop spreading false information. No vaccine will be ready for widespread human use for 12 months including Gilead. Even HIV does not have a drug to cure it after over 20 years in existence.

onegentleguy:

My dear, that drug(Chloroquine) was always in the picture as an option for an effective panacea/cure.
The Chinese were already employing its usage before now(see post above)

According to one Alex Tabarrok(a med practitioner);
"...Chloroquine can be used to treat COVID-19. The fact that it is 'unapproved' for that purpose is irrelevant. It is available and legal for physicians to use off-lebel"

I strongly believe that this will be approved by the necessary bodies and used to combat these evil.
...but for anything, for the sake of the fact that we are talking about human lives. People are dying !!

It is well.

Receive SENSE while you are still alive. When there is life there is HOPE.

Go and rob a bank and when caught say Yahweh sent you.

hopefulLandlord:
Christians should be very watchful of their utterances against this pastor as what he wanted to do might've been commanded by Yahweh as he works in mysterious ways and his wisdom, as our Holy Bible said, looks like foolishness unto man.

Yahweh once told the Israelites to kill all midianites but keep young virgin girls as war booty. This sounds wrong to us but whatever Yahweh commands is wise even if it looks wrong in our limited knowledge he has his reasons

Yahweh figuratively destroyed Saul for not totally destroying the Amalekites

Yahweh once told Ezekiel to eat bread baked with human shiit

Same way Yahweh sent lying spirits to Ahab's prophets. This also sounds wrong to us but he has his reasons we aren't privy to and he answers to no one

Yahweh also hardened Pharaoh's heart while using that as opportunity to send more plagues and kill innocent people until all firstborn sons of the Egyptians are dead. This also sounds cruel but that's Yahweh showing us his loving power and nobody should question him

Yahweh struck Onan dead for refusing to cum into his brother's wife's vagyna

Yahweh's ways are not our ways. its possible Yahweh instructed to sleep with his church elder's wife. Yahweh might have his reasons so we should not use our limited knowledge to judge what a man talking to a being of unlimited knowledge does. Beware not to bring a curse upon your lives and future generations by attacking a true man of Yahweh

You are not making sense. If you want to KILL South Africans to balance the equation then, good luck to you.

swaggzo:
Another clear picture, showing that many Nigerians are dullàrds.

They're killing our people in South Africa, we're here looting shops.. Showing the whole world that it is food that is our problems.

For Christ's sake how is packing drinks and biscuits from shoprite equal to the humans and properties being burnt in South Africa?
How does attacking a mere shop of a South African businessman affect the hundreds of illiterate South Africans causing the chaos over there? How does this stop the war?

You want to get back at South African.... Yet you ignore DSTV. You put your MTN SIM in your pocket..... And then head down to SHOPRITE where there's food, because of hunger and poverty?

I'm very disappointed, and ashamed to say I'm a Nigerian.

I don't think so. Lafarge debt is seriously falling. This is a quote from them, sometime in May this year:
According to Balogun, its total debt dropped to about $600m from more than $1bn after using funds, including the proceeds of a N131bn ($361.7m) rights offer, to curb liabilities.

The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Bruno Bayet, said in April that the company planned to raise an additional N100bn when necessary.

This rights issue, if successful will place the company in a very good position.
