PoliticsThe Northerns Are Calling Nnamdi Kanu's Bluff Over Biafra by myplaydiary(op):
Having followed in details the events of the Kaduna declaration and events trailing it from the north it is clear to see that the northerns are calling Nnamdi Kanu's bluff, for some reasons now the northerns believe it was all just a political move and not a genuine call for Biafra nationhood, IPob also disappointed many by asking for more time? More time for what exactly, I think 3months is more than enough, Ghanaians did not have up to 3 months and did not need up to 3 months when they were asked to leave Nigeria. What does IPob need the time for, that alone shows weakness, un-seriousness and will make Igbo's who were willing to move out immediately reluctant to do so. Ipob should have encourage Igbo's to move their families and goods eastward immediately.

However as for the Igbo's in the north don't be deceived the north is buying time with this ultimatum for what is to come and the talk of being a peaceful group is just a smoke screen and the whole referendum talk is what it is "mere talk" to douse the pettiness in the stupidity of the Kaduna declaration, Arewa youths, Elders and Elites will never support a peaceful dissolution of Nigeria, rather they want to heat up the polity so whenever Buhari's health status or Life or Death stance is made public or should PMB be incapacitated to hold office they can bring on the heat using Igbo's/ Southerners in the north as target, Biafra as reason and Nnamdi Kanu as Cause.

We all know northerns have never been troubleshooters rather they are trouble shoppers and these Arewa youths have been made to look like foolish, bloodthirsty moronic zombies with their latest outburst and attempt at causing ethnic tension in the federation this have seen them changing stance over and over again in other to redeem what ever little sanity and respect the ever controlled however to no avail as Igbo's and Nigerians at large are wiser, well my advice to Igbo's in the north is leave the north before October 1st because if PMB is reported dead tomorrow these so called youths will not wait till Oct 1 to unleash mayhem on Igbo's and southerns by extension.

Personally I believe the timeline these youth have pronounced will determine Nigerians fate because it will not be about the Igbo's, I believe this time line has more to do with the number one position at Aso rock not entirely the Igbo's, the youth Are probably waiting to know PMB health status from now till Oct 1st if he survives his present condition and if he does not survive they will rather make the country ungovernable than see the Acting president take the office so they have already put hot water on fire waiting for it to boil while we southerns are gathering the fire woods for them. Igbo's in the north go back home, don't wait for more time.

I too believe my Igbo peeps jare see how every single one of them proclaimed that they are Biafrans even the beautiful girl I was thinking she will start forming one Nigeria. See how the Igbo's interviewed were calling Afonja and aboki bluff.

Abeg every Igbo is a Biafran jare. People like me who used to avoid and deny anything Biafra thanks too Nairaland for making me Biafra first son. Today I eat, breath and live Biafra, I owe that to Afonjas and Nairaland not even NK. Daalu.

For you to bring up this historical fact at this time most especially as we need their support is insensitive and dangerous. Stop using the past rigidly as a basis to understand the future.
If you ask me I will advise you stick with Paziena advices regardless how hard and harsh it might sound, it's the bitter truth middle beltans have always been a tool and puns to the north and Hausa Fulani.

PoliticsWhy Are SE Governors Not Proactive And Lack Boldness To Do The Right Thing by myplaydiary(op): 2:43pm On Jun 10, 2017
I think the SE governors are not proactive and they are not doing anything since the issuing of the threat by the Northern youths which I believe has some northern elite backing them, our governors have done nothing, in fact I was more disappointed when they denied sending buses to pick up Igbo's living in the north. The First paramount interest of any good leader is protecting his people and citizens are our governors waiting for the so called northern youths to make true their threats before a measure ensuring security of lives and property of the Igbo's in the north is taken or they are simply holding unto the words of the senate, the police, the northern elites, El Rufai, Atiku, Emir of Katsina that Igbo's should remain and nothing would happen.

Truth is all those people will not be able to contain the crisis when it starts and the army that will have to do the job have not even reacted to the statement, the police that will have to maintain law and order have not even made any arrest 72hrs after the said speech even when Ango Abdulhai have back the youths, still no arrest, not one have been brought in for questioning. While I believe the Igbo's will be able to hold themselves down for a while when such occurs but for how long will they be able to do that before they become vulnerable and start falling like a pack of cards to these blood thirsty zombies and we can not guarantee that the Army and police will not be use in achieving the aim of these youths as it was used against the Sunni Muslims and Southern Christian's, we also know they have a sharia police do you think this group will play fair.

Personally I am showing my displeasure at the SE Governors who are more concerned about their office than the lives of the Igbo's. Personally apart from the life threatening situation I see this as an opportunity for development in the SE this creates a perfect opportunity for SE governors to woo our Igbo brothers to come and invest big in the east and start thinking total relocation of not just families but their businesses. What stops SE governors from mapping out arrears for these northern returnees. They should map out areas for modern plazas and shops, map out residential estates and cities for these peeps and have them develop it. Trust me these people are up to the task and in less than a year you would see the sort of city expansion that would happen in such areas. However personally I think our governors don't really have the interest of their region and people at heart rather their office comes first, RIP Sam Mbakwe.

My advice to the Igbo's however is to ignore the Northern elites, senate, police and all those telling you that you are safe with them or in their region do not fall for such Ojukwu made same mistake before he could realize it 20,000 of our own were dead, also do not make the mistake of listening to the Middle beltans who have not been able to protect themselves from Fulani herdsmen will now protect you from the combined wrath of Hausa Fulani in their backyard and don't forget they are tools for the Hausa Fulani and were the one that were used to massacre our people the most before the war.

igbozionism:
op, truely I am disappointed in you. the mischief makers has asked this question more than 100 times on nairaland and we have provided the answers for them and won in every argument about this topic. so for anyone to bring up this issue again, he or she is being mischievous and doesn't deserve an answer because they will still ask the same tomorrow.

op, simply ignore people asking what Igbo's contribute and quit creating threads to answer them because doing so dignifies their question which already lacks fact and is laden with mischief and hypocrisy!

This thread is unnecessary.
while your assertions might be right I will highlight why it is important that we address whatever is brought each time it comes up.

Now, you need to be obvious of the fact that everyday new readers come to Nairaland from across the globe and when the go through the thread what the see is what they learn and believe to be true many of them are not aware of threads addressing these issues so the simply stick with the baseless claim that you wish to ignore, before I decided to register on Nairaland I had a feeling Igbo's were not doing enough because everyday I opened the politics section I saw threads bashing Igbo's or stating outright lies about the Igbo's without correctional threads being created by Igbo's, I bet many think like you said and assume that it has been address and simply ignore it, but ignoring them does more harm than good.

If you want to ignore such threads at all then revive one of the old threads that have addressed it or ensure to post a link in the first page of the lying thread as many might not look through other pages. Please drop the mind set of ignoring these propagandist because that is exactly what they need for their lies to sell and become facts, as we all know when a lie is repeated to often it becomes the truth and that's why these people keep repeating these lies ignoring them will be giving credence to these lies and our own undoing.

I hope I made some sense and I hope you do understand my point.
PoliticsJust A Few Contribution Of SE And Igbo's To The Federation, Full List Is Endless by myplaydiary(op): 1:19pm On Jun 10, 2017
Abia state, The state is gifted with human and natural resources for fabrics, leather and metal fabrication. Abia is blessed with numerous resources which set the state as one of the very best in the federation, Here are the natural/mineral resources in the state: Laterite, Tar, Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Lead, Zinc, Flora like Iroko, Mahogany, Obeche, Bamboo, Rubber Tree and Oil Palm, Gypsum, Limestone, Iron Ore.

Anambra State, The state is blessed with the following resources: Bauxite, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Rubber; not forgetting that it has 30 Trillion cubic feet of Gas, deposit of coal.

Ebonyi State, The resources include: Lead, Crude Oil, and Natural Gas, huge limestone deposits at nkalagu, Ebonyi is called "the salt of the nation" for its huge salt deposit at the Okposi and Uburu Salt Lakes. Others include Sale, Zinc, Lead, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Gold and other Solid Minerals.

Enugu State, Enugu is endowed with Coal which is where it derives its slogan “Coal City state” from. Other resources include: Zinc, Lead, Oil.

Imo State, Imo is Naturally endowed with natural resources from crude oil, natural gas, lead, zinc, Flora like the iroko, mahogany, obeche, bamboo, rubber tree and oil palm predominate.

Human Resources: The Igbo's boast of the most intellectual Human Resources in the country both locally and internationally, Igbo's have constantly and consistently put Nigeria on the world map for churning out great intellect in all sectors of human endeavors from Science, Art, culture, literature, Economics mathematics etc, the likes of Chike Obi, Philip Emagwali, Late Dora Akunyili, Prof Cihnua Achebe comes to mind.

Trade and Commerce: It is not news and cannot be overly exaggerated that Igbo's control the trade and commerce in the nation, this cannot be argued on any level or scale as the only competition the Igbo's have today in trade and commerce in the country today is Igbo themselves who are also in to large and aggressive scale business and second to none their number one partners and associates are Chinese, Indians and Lebanese.

Generating Revenue: The revenue generated by Igbo business men can never be overestimated because the Igbo's are overly generating funds for the FG and Various state governments in the federation by their chain of business activities in form of tax payment, buying of government stalls and importation of goods, it is no longer secret that 60% of goods coming into Lagos ports are owned by Igbo business men and 60% of those goods go to the SE.

City Planning and Development: No ethnic group can claim to have developed Nigeria more than the Igbo's or like the Igbo's. The development of Igbo's in Lagos and Abuja cannot be over emphasized, in a state like Lagos Igbo's have signature areas that have been solely developed by them which only areas on the island can compete with these areas are Okota, Canal Estate, Festac, Ajao Estate, Amuwo odofin, Festac extension, just to name a few. Igbo's even built their own markets in Lagos and provided their own infrastructure, an example Igbo's built Alaba international markets, built Oduade market, built aspanda trade fair market and even built a connecting flyover that takes customers directly into the marketplace to avoid traffic gridlocks, built road, built police post, bank premises, fire stations etc.
Coming to Abuja it not news that one of the FCT ministers said that Igbo's own 60% of the real estate in Abuja same can be said for Lagos.

Global representation; While we continue to read about Igbo's breaking bounds across the globes everyday these names however have come to stay and put Not just Igbo's on the World map but Nigeria as a Nation Ngozi Okonjo Iwela, Chiamanda N. Adiche, Oby Ezekwesili.

Indigenous manufacturing and production: Igbo control the indigenous manufacturing and production industry in the country and lead in these aspect Innoson Vehicle Plant in Nnewi the first of it kind in sub-saharan Africa, Zinox computer, Anambra also has the highest number of indigenous companies in Nigeria, Aba is the fabrication capital of sub-Saharan Africa and also lead in fabric and leather finished production in the region.

Employment: Igbo's own many of the blue chip companies in the federation from the Banking, oil and gas, telecommunications, mobile and internet broadband service, Pharmaceuticals, shipping, real estate sectors etc by virtue of these companies Igbo's provide hundred of thousands of job opportunities for Nigerians within and outside the shores of those country.

Economic growth and development: By virtue of Igbo investment in industry, blue chip companies trade and commerce it is clear to see the Igbo's contribution to Economic growth and development cannot be undermined or overlooked by virtue of the scale, spread and resources that the Igbo put into the Economy of the federation.

You know that SE and Igbo's in general contribute so much to this Federation when the entire North comprising of 19 states compare themselves with the SE of just 5 states that have been marginalized, underutilized and underdeveloped by the FG.

However note that this Exposition does not include natural resources of Igboland in SS.

Olodo Op my grandmother does not know 90% of the food and cash crops you listed up there

And she lived way above 90s before she passed on at 106 when she lived Igbo's didn't buy food from the north we farmed what we eat

Even till this day most Igbo's in the village farm what they eat and don't use 90% of what you listed there, we farm them in our backyard.

Our staple farm products are yam, cassava, rice, potatoes, cocoa yam, palm kernels, plantain, bananas, mangoes, oranges, pineapples, Udala, pears, avacado pears, cherry, vegetables include, bitter leaf, ugwu, waterleaf, live stock, pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, just to mention a few and these consist 90% of our foods

while we might not have them for export we have more than enough to eat and live above 90years, so northerner should stop the whole 90% food lies grin

Mind you all the item I listed are in our family compound and farm in my village in Anambra we don't buy any of these things outside except we want to do a party, celebration or something that calls for gathering. I hope you know every Igbo mans house in the village is surrounded by his farm and all of this is most likely grown there too. I didn't mention other products that we don't grow that are on other people's farm.

So grow sense.... meanwhile your leaders are still begging us to stay in one Nigeria and you are here making mouth, it's your kind that will keep the fire of Biafra burning strong.
