ECOWAS :NIGERIA ON THE RUN AS COURT GRANT EJIOFOR PLEA FOR 10 MILLION NAIRA COMPENSATION
Ecowas court sat today to hear the case of gross violation of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's fundamental human right by Nigeria government. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Supreme leader of the indigenous people of Biafra {IPOB}was arrested by Nigeria government on the 14th of October 2015 by Nigeria government upon his arrival from United Kingdom and was kept incommunicado for three months.
The matter has been in Ecowas court for some time now. Today, the 21st day of November 2017, the matter was scheduled for hearing of which the prosecutor were lawfully notified. Surprisingly, the Nigeria government was once again absent. This is not the first or second time Nigeria has failed to appear before the Ecowas court.
The respondent, Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor prayed the court to compel the federal government to compensate him with the sum of 10,000,000 naira. This was granted by the presiding judge. The matter has now been adjourned to February 7th, 2018. |
