BIAFRA: WHY THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT'S BOLDNESS IS DEPLETING In a battle, people tend to assert all forms of energy at the early stage of it, that energy result depends on the ability of the propellers to sustain it within a reasonable defined times. The reason most termed "lesser powers" ones destroyed the "bigger powers" as in the case of Vietnam defeat on United States, Israeli defeat on Arabs and subsequent historical evidences, lie on the fact that these looked down powers sustained their battles tactically. One thing is to sustain a battle front, another is to be tactical about it. The difficulties facing the handlers of the Nigerian state now over the Biafran question, is the undisputable fact that IPOB is blending soft and hard approaches with multiple missiles positions launchers. Any battle that is multifaceted and multidimensional is not just costly, but dangerous for parties involved to end well if not strategically executed. Unlike other freedom fighting group within African region, IPOB have shown exceptionally dangerous to undermined due to her very dangerous approaches in projecting and prosecuting her demands. If you make a comparative analysis between IPOB and others, you will agree with me that while others are battling for leadership centralizations, IPOB settled that quite a long time ago by building everything about Nnamdi Kanu thereby making it difficult for polarisation which most freedom fighting groups in Africa are currently battling with. The centralization political philosophy of IPOB, makes it difficult for deep penetration by agents of state actors. On the contrary, when state actors think that the best strategy is to remove out of the gallery, the defacto head as a way of polarisation as we are currently seeing in the abduction of Nnamdi Kanu, what IPOB taught us is that the sub-auxilary units of her (the DOS) are piled up for shock absorber. Make no mistake to think documentations are not going on as regards to IPOB's approaches. Africans and the world are kinly observing. IPOB is teaching reckless and rogue states how biting a responsible non state actor could bite. I understand the worries of some state actors within the continental sphere as what IPOB is doing is tantamount to regional rekindling of freedom consciousness. Yes those who chose to analyze it on that angle might be partly right, but to be honest, it will be difficult to see a non state actor with the capabilities to fight spontaneously on different theatre at same time. Only IPOB is doing so currently! Others defined a certain spate for themselves like guerrilla war tactics and specialise on it. They have no legal battle ground, media battle ground, diplomatic battle ground and others. Because of their sectorial dependency, they got missing in other necessary areas too. Only IPOB have the energy and synergy to activate multidimensional battle strategies and that is why, any active mind who understands how expensive it is to sustain multidimensional battle lines often accuses IPOB of having international monetary supports. Anyway, the clarity of the accusations and counter accusations lies on the future when issues of the struggle are declassified in Biafra. The difficulties the handlers of the Nigerian state are currently facing on IPOB is that they are confronted with a movement that the political class within the region are not in control of neither are they going to control. One thingnl is to activate a "political process" another is to tolerate and understand the disposition of your opponent. This is what the Nigerian state is yet to understand. It worries them how a non state actor is demanding to sit on the dialogue table as "equal" and not a "subject". The shock of this position of IPOB is threatening to them and thus, forces them in dilemma of no control. Their failures to implement same Niger Delta approach of seeing the fighters as "criminal who deserves amnesty" on IPOB, is worrisome to them. In the case of Niger Delta, the boys were seen as subjects who needed some cashes to be sprayed and it worked for them at the current deplorable state of the region. In the case of IPOB, the Nigeria state is explicitly made to understand by IPOB leadership that both her and IPOB are actors. You can call it arrogancy or whatever, but the truth is that that position is predetermined factor that will lead to other things. It is getting done to all that IPOB is one group that the word "deal with" has never had efficacy on. She handles threat as irrelevant and waters it down to its zero level. Today, every single one who took part in the criminal abduction of Nnamdi Kanu is regretting and distancing themselves. From Kenya to the list fellow, all is not having the face of what was promised. The current affidavit presentation of Kenyan Attorney General in Kenyan court, distancing their government of accomplice of the criminality, shows that diplomatic pressures are working. I quite understand Kenya's distancing after seeing how weak Nigerian state is towards winning the war against IPOB. No one wants to sink with a sinking ship nomatter how good the ship might look. Kenya feels the burdens of repeated protests in her foreign missions facilities by IPOB. One thing countries hate is protests because it speaks of dissatisfaction of the regime. That is why both Canada truckers protests and the black lives matters protests in these respective places are and were worries to the governments. You can't imagine often correspondence coming from different Kenya's foreign missions updating the home land government of protests in their facilities. It really speaks volume in face of a decent government. So to Kenya, the best form of saving her face from the international disgrace which the stubborn IPOB have in stock for her, is to abandon Nigeria. But denial doesn't in anyway, exonerates a criminal! Kenya's denial which is today is on legal template, is a stepping stone and material fortification for upward IPOB hit. What Kenya's denial does is to equip us better to dissect the criminality of the rogue states and their accomplices in the international kidnapping network. The future is quite interesting as the matter is developing. Nigeria is going to be striped naked and the world will see and tingle. While the current government seems to panicking over less times on their side to effectively fight, IPOB have all the time to make sure they don't go unaccountable in their rogue action. Fighting a group with soldier ant approach like IPOB, is the most stupid decision anyone can initiate. Today, the government is pushed to the defensive lines that even cloth is now weaponised. That is how far she has run haywire over IPOB. Within the government circle, IPOB is now seen as a movement that uses everything available to her to advance the course including clothes. When an enemy sees weapons all around you, then you have win the battle. What is needed is sustainability not minding the challenges. We are created for winning and we own no mortal explanation or apology for that! Written by Chika Austine |

Narendra Modi: “Consider the cause of Biafra agitation and Render solution to it” The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Damondardas has told The United Nations General Assemblies to look into the problem affecting the residents of the old eastern region of Nigeria widely known as BIAFRA which is propelling them to push for the separate independent state away from Nigeria. He maintained that Nigeria is structured in based on the colonial interest stating that Nigeria as Nation does not have the legitimate support of it’s citizens. He further points out the root cause of Nigeria problems as the inability of the past Nigerian Nationalists to restructure and reestablish Nigeria as a sovereign state with the popular legitimacy of it’s citizens on the basis of REFERENDUM which fosters the National cohesive spirit and patriotism. “The issue of BIAFRA agitation has to be properly addressed; self determination has always been a civil right which is Guaranteed under the international laws. When a region seek to break away from a given country, the first thing to do is to address the problems driving such proposition. If the issue is something that can’t be addressed, partition has to be offered for them to conduct a REFERENDUM a decide their fate. Nigeria’s problems emanated from their earlier political leaders who failed to reestablish themselves after gaining independence in 1960.” He ended saying that a country that is structured in political, social and economic inequality can never stand “Patriotism is what drives nations to unity, Peaceful coexistence and equity.”

A Nigerian soldier was killed on Wednesday after being forced into a burning military vehicle in the southeastern part of the country, an official told Peoples Gazette. The soldier, whose identity has been withheld to give military authorities enough time to convey the news to his loved ones, was on a patrol with his colleagues in Edema, Ebonyi, when they were ambushed by yet-unidentified gunmen. A military source said the assailants then set the soldiers’ patrol truck alight and pushed the slain officer into the raging inferno. Charred remains of his body and the vehicle were shared amongst service members on Thursday afternoon. Two other soldiers who took part in the patrol were still missing in action as of Thursday afternoon, the source said under anonymity because the military was still evaluating the situation. Nigerian troops have faced pushback from residents in Ebonyi and other states across the South-East after repeated attacks on the civilian population in the region. The military said the campaign was aimed at rooting out those responsible for violent attacks believed to have stemmed from the ongoing separatist agitation. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has repeatedly denied ties to the attacks, but federal authorities said its members were linked to the violence and arrested. The group’s leader Nnamdi Kanu was abducted by Nigerian authorities from Kenya in June 2021 and has remained in the custody of the Nigerian government in Abuja. http://saharareporters.com/2022/02/03/gunmen-burn-nigerian-army-personnel-along-military-vehicle-ebonyi |

The demand for a referendum on secession of Biafra from Nigeria assumed a front burner on Thursday with the Yoruba and Efik ethnic nationalities filing an application to be part of the suit filed by the Coalition of Northern Groups. The CNG had in June 2021, dragged the National Assembly, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to Court asking them to conduct a referendum to determine the fate of Biafra agitators. The case was first adjourned till January 20, 2022, after Justice Inyang Ekwo could not sit due to an official assignment. But the case could not be heard again on Thursday because the Judge was said to be indisposed. The counsel for CNG, Safiyanu Idris, told Journalists that the case had been adjourned again, to March 14, 2022, because Justice Ekwo was absent. “Since the last adjournment, the matter was adjourned to today (January 20) for the continuation of motion as they are people that have filed an application to join the suit. “We came here for the applications but it happened that the Judge is also not sitting today. “But in between the time, there is a particular group. The Ijaw group have filed an application for joinder in the matter. Now the matter is adjourned to the 14 of March 2022. The CNG had gone to Court to seek a referendum to determine the fate of Biafra and other separatist organisations in Nigeria. The Spokesperson of CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, has explained why the coalition filed the suit. He said, “What we are doing is to save the country, ourselves and the future of the country because these people are becoming violent already. Most of the people engaged in this activity are below 50. “So, if we allow our leaders to leave us with these people in this situation, there may be another bloodshed or civil war. That is what we want to avoid, which is why we came to the court to interpret the situation. “One of the issues for determination in the substantive suit has to do with the legal obligation of the 2nd – 4th defendants/respondents to provide a framework that will pave the way for the self-determination of the South-Eastern states and any other enclave that wants to go so as to leave the geographical entity called Nigeria before any further step is taken to review the constitution.” Speaking on his decision to join the suit, counsel to the Yoruba nation, Timilehin Odunwo, said, “We now deem it fit to join this suit on the ground that not only the Igbo that is interested in leaving this contraption called Nigeria, the Yoruba nation is also interested. “Therefore, any other call for a referendum should cut across the board of all tribes. Let every tribe have the right to determine whether to live in the country or to move out. “As you know, self-determination is a very sacrosanct right of every citizen and tribe as it is recognized by the international community. “Therefore, it is incumbent on the National Assembly, if our application is granted that let everybody decide whether to stay or leave. “You cannot force an unwilling tribe on a willing nation. It will not work.” Also, Lead Counsel to Old Calabar Province which is made up of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, Sunday Uko Afiko said, “We do not want to sit at home while they barb our hair in our absence. So, we came all the way from Uyo to be part of this matter. “But it is quite unfortunate that the Court is not sitting. We hope that the next adjourn date which is March 14 that the court would sit, we will move our motion and be part of this case which has to decide the fate of everybody. We are not opposing the application.” “We are saying that it should not just be the South Eastern states that should leave; everybody should be given the opportunity to decide whether they want to be part of Nigeria or not. “We want to also be given the opportunity to decide our fate. Let there be a national referendum for everybody to vote,” he said. https://punchng.com/biafra-yoruba-efik-groups-join-cng-suit-for-referendum/?amp |
