Transcript of Dr. Cho Ayaba address to Biafrans. My fellow Biafrans, All hail Biafra! All hail Biafra! A few months ago your leader was kidnapped and rendition to to Nigeria, where he has remain detained incommunicado for the past months. I have never really spoken directly on this issue. And I have never addressed you on this issue. I sent a letter to the directorate, the HOD a few days ago informing them of my desire to address Biafrans across the globe on a couple of issues; the kidnapping and rendition of your leader, the alliance between Ambazonia and Biafra, the international implications of this alliance, the kidnapping of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and to assure you that you are not alone in your strife for the actualization of Biafra and to assure you once more that betrayals of the past will never again be repeated. My fellow Biafrans, the present concept of statehood within the continent of Africa is anchored on a flawed foundation. That is why the effort of our forebears in bringing the continent together. On the concept of Pan Africanism has not worked because the fundamentals of the concept of statehood is anchored in colonialism, admi tonistrative conveniences and economic spoliation. Africa has gone through several tragedies and the children of Africa are scattered across the globe in search of a homeland. In search of an identity, in search of happiness. The continent hijacked hundreds of years ago, splintered and shared amongst colonialists who have implanted as overseers and managers of these plantations. Tyrants and butchers will lead waste to our coast. Looted our resources, build large army that they have used to continueto perpetuate a new colonial doctrine. that favors the west and these tyrants. Your leader was kidnapped through an illicit intercourse between Nairobi and Abuja. The leader of the largest Indigenous group in the continent of Africa. It is a shame that in the twenty-first century people like Biafrans who have been subjected to economic deprivation, political affixation, social exclusion, will still be treated with contempt and disdain. Let me remind Nigeria that you didn't win the war, you won the battle of 1967. You've never won the war and the reason for Nigeria's arrogance is reflected in the fact that despite the genocide committed on you, millions of Biafrans butchered Nigeria has never apologize. There has never been accountability. Nigeria has continued with a vindictive a perception as though Biafra was conquered and its leaders are still pushing out utterances sown wounds of a people who suffered a lot of injustices in the land of the abode. All hail Biafra! Before there was Nigeria, there was Biafra. I am not addressing you as your leader. I am addressing you as a friend, as a pan Africanist, someone who believes in justice. As someone who believes in the true union of peoples within the continent, to safeguard their economic interest, to establish over their nation's political systems that work for their interest that are a reflection of their particularities not any strange political system that serve the interest of foreign dominions masterminded by tyrants who regularly organize political charade call elections to legitimize tyranny. My fellow Biafrans, We Ambazonia’s as people who have suffered injustice for so long and we understand the pain. We understand the pain of tyranny, the curtailment of rights, the deprivation, the affixation, the exclusion. And that's why we stand with you. Unlike our forebears did in their struggle against colonialism. We believe as a people, who've suffered tribulations; we should never utter words or take actions that betray other people that is why I led Ambazonia into an alliance with Biafran Because you are a permanent neighbor. We were once governonace part of Enugu and we walk out of there peacefully to establish our own system of ruling our own capital. We share common border, a common heritage. We form one of the strongest blocks in the continent of Africa, in the Gulf of Guinea, where a reflection of the future, future prosperity and calling justice equitable distribution of wealth the exploitation of natural resources with replication and development. And where the owners of those resources have a say in the way they are managed. We are a more than 70 million strong economy with one of the most educated, economic workforce, Ingenious in terms of entrepreneurial spirit. That's why they are scared of us. That's why they've imposed tyrants to ensure that our day of sunshine never comes. About five years ago Cameron declared war in Ambazonia. It used Nigeria as a proxy state to arrest Ambazonians within Biafra within Nigeria. Illegally, rendition them to Cameroon where they were detained incommunicado, tried in Kangaroo Tribunals, and jailed for life. So when I speak about the kidnapping of your own leader, it's based on the experiences that we are faced. An experience that gives me a better platform to speak about this. You've been left like a flock without a shepherd. But I remind you, that they've taken away your leader but they've not taken away the vision, the ideology upon which his leadership was anchored. Nigeria has a choice, Mr. Buhari has a choice. It is a choice Mr. Bia rejected. Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, engage in meaningful discussion on the aspirations of the Biafran people or lay Nigeria waste. Nigeria's survival depends on the freedom of Biafra not the other way round. As I said, Nigeria won the battle of 1967, it didn't win the war. The war has been going on since then; only one side has been armed, acting with impunity and with the sense of callousness as though Biafrans were captured and conquered people. You owe Nigeria nothing, Nigeria owes you its future, its economic stability, it's political future. And you Biafrans must be treated with respect. Ambazonia will continue to support you, to encourage you. Whatever you decide about the outcome of your struggle, the method you want to use is a choice only Biafrans can make. Whatever choices you make, you can count on the support of my leadership. You can count on the solidarity of the Ambazonia people and for us Ambazonians, we want a stable neighbor, one that respects human rights, one whose political institution is a reflection of the particularities of its own people, its heritage and its future. You can be rest assured that the freedom of Ambazonia will be meaningless without the freedom of Biafra, all other peoples whose destiny have been held hostage by this illicit intercourse between modern day enslavement, manifested in the tyranny of tyrants imposed over our own nations. We will never forgive, we will not build peace and reconciliation commission. There will be truth and accountability. All those who've looted our resources, laid bare our territories, murdered our people, committed genocide on us. You will be held accountable through time and space. Only then, when we can hold people accountable shall we in the future stop impunity, shall we hold leaders accountable for their act when they were in power and out of power. All those who've enabled colonialism through the legitimization of tyranny and puppets over our countries will be held accountable... I continue to encourage you in your strives to be free. In your daily struggles, in the strategies you employ and you must be reminded all those who have died have not died in vain. All those who are in jail, have not lost their liberty in vain. Never give up! Be reminded that our both lands are flowing with the blood of patriots. Who've been murdered by those who took us captives on a daily basis as we continue to struggle to ensure that our people are free, that our destinies and future are secured and anchored in justice. We must be reminded of other struggles, the sacrifices made by peoples. We are now scattered across the globe, living under democracies where we have the right to speak. and sometimes we listen to. For all of those who are out of Biafra. you must continue to add your voices. To ensure that your leader is released and that the dreams of the Biafran people is realized. I've not come here to make you feel it's going to be easy. Tyranny is entrenched, brutality, murder, systematic torture, crimes against humanity and even genocide are the best options for tyrant. You will face dark days, more leaders will be killed, villages will be burned as they have been burnt in Ambazonia. You might lose another generation but the dreams of the Biafran people as manifested today in the enthusiasm which this generation has injected in the stronghold will be realized. It’s in your hands to make it happen, it's in your hands to make it fail as for us Ambazonia we are already free. We have defeated Cameroon because we made a conscious decision that because occupation is pre-dedicated on economic exploitation. We were going to stop the occupier from exploiting our resources. We made a determination also that because occupation is predicated on political legitimacy; we make sure that we delegitimize the occupier in our homeland. We also realize that political stability is critical for the survival of the occupier. We made our land ungovernable. All of these strategies have crumbled Cameroon’s politics within Ambazonia, has elevated Ambazonia from. a domestic to an international issue and we know that the dawn of a new day for Ambazonia is just around the corner. As we continue to struggle for our own freedom, the alliance which myself and Mazi Nnamdi, Kanu established for both peoples and both nations is going to be strengthen to ensure that after we are free, we establish a free economic zone. Where our both peoples can tap in both their human and natural resources. To have a better life and a better future... Transcript by ©️Pang-Chi Ou

Sit-At-Home: Private Schools Turn Saturdays To Working Days In Enugu | #IgbereTV Some private schools in Enugu State now hold classes on Saturdays following the ‘collapse’ of academic activities on Mondays as a result of the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IgbereTV has learned. The group instituted the order to press home their demand for the release of their leader Nnamdi Kanu. Some of the school proprietors interviewed by TheWhistler warned against mentioning their names and their schools for security reasons. One of them, located at Emene, Enugu, said, “It is an internal measure adopted by the school management and the parents to make up for lost grounds. The academic curriculum runs whether we go to school or not. And the pupils and students write the same external exams as their counterparts outside this region. “Instead of allowing Mondays to waste just like that, we devised a means. Our supposed academic activities on Mondays now hold on Saturdays.” A principal of a private school, along University Market road at Nsukka, on condition of anonymity, said, “We won’t allow the education of our children to die just like that. As such, we deliberated on the way forward, and converted our Mondays to Saturdays. That is the only way we fill the vacuum of the sit-at-home. We wouldn’t like to risk any child’s life.” A parent, Cajethan Odo, said, “It is to the advantage of pupils and parents. We pay the school fees accordingly. So, we commend the school authorities for the innovations. I am personally happy.” A pupil in one of the schools said she was happy. In her words, “On Saturdays, we come to school. We learn what we usually learn on Mondays. I am happy because all my friends come to school.” IgbereTV reports that despite the cancellation of the sit-at-home order by the IPOB, general activities on Mondays in the southeast region of the country have remained paralysed as unknown gunmen use Mondays to perpetrate their activities. |
ex-Biafra soldiers: "Don't Insult Biafra With Your Valueless Naira" - Gen. Orji Warns Buhari | #IgbereTV By Onuoha E. Onuoha Biafran National Guard (BNG) has frowned at the recent news making round the tabloids that the Federal Government of Nigeria has finally approved the payment of gratuities and emoluments of 102 ex-Biafra soldiers. This was disclosed during an interview granted to newsmen in Ambazonia where the General Officer Commanding Biafran National Guard, General Innocent N. Orji described such fictitious payment of gratuity and emoluments as both non-existent and laughable. He noted that "the Federal Government of Nigeria is only being jittery" after the demand of Biafran National Guard yesterday for the immediate release of 19 prisoners of Conscience remanded at Onitsha and Awka prisons ad-infinitum without recourse to rule of law and rape of judicial process. General Innocent N. Orji further said "the Terrorists infiltrated Government of Nigeria" knows that Biafra is around the corner and that the children of the rising sun are here to take what rightfully belongs to them. He therefore warned all Biafra war veterans never to fall into this trap and warned President Muhammadu Buhari and the relevant pension ministers to take their emoluments to the Caliphate. In his words, "You can't forgive whom you offended. You can't grant pardon to an Army you never fought and that was never defeated nor crushed. Biafra fought the global world powers to their utter amazement and displayed their ingenuity defending Biafra Sovereignty for 3 years until the War was declared "No Victor, No Vanquished". So who are you granting pardon and who are you paying pension and emoluments after 51 years?" "I warn whoever it is that is in Aso Rock to go to hell with his whitewashed pension and emoluments and advice that no ex-Biafra soldier should submit anything or collect the cursed Naira as this will be a slap and a spit on the flag of last world power on Earth". "You can forget Biafra war veterans and exclude them from the God-given resources then all of a sudden remember only 102 ficticious ex-Biafra soldiers 24 hours after BNG made a public statement". General Innocent N. Orji further assured all ex-Biafra veteran soldiers to remain resolute as BIAFRA is around the corner and will pay them in Biafra pounds in less than no distant time. "Soon we will pay all our heroes and heroines and immortalize those who have fallen, pay their children and generations unborn till the world ends". "I also seize this medium to remind all ex-Biafra soldiers to key into the BIAFRA NATIONAL GUARD Live broadcast slated for 27th-30th, October, 2021 and I warn Muhammadu Buhari and all his Fulani cohorts in the name of Ministers and Politicians of Northern extraction that nothing unbecoming should happen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a Radio Biafra Activist in their custody, the 19 prisoners of Conscience detained without hearing for 16 years in Onitsha and Awka prisons respectively and all other Pro-Biafran Activists held in various detention facilities in the expired country Nigeria because I General Innocent N. Orji, the General Officer Commanding Biafra Army will not hesitate to hunt down Muhammadu Buhari and his entire household, friends and well-wishers and all Fulani descendants to their last man including all Igbo business and political collaborators if anything unbecoming happens to Nnamdi Kanu and or any Biafran Activist remanded in any prison facility both in the North and South of the expired British contraption", Gen. Orji concluded.

Immediate And Unconditional Release of Nnamdi Kanu My Demand - Gen. Orji | #IgbereTV By: Onuoha E. Onuoha The struggle for the resuscitation of the defunct Sovereign State Of Biafra has gone a long way. In 1967, freedom and independence was witnessed, felt and enjoyed but was forcefully crushed and in 1970, Biafra slept but was never killed. Today, the restoration of the Sovereignty of The State Of Biafra is on top gear and needless to say at its crescendo and final lap. A time to announce loss or win. It is time Biafrans tell themselves the truth and acknowledge the fact that Fulani controlled Nigeria Government does not follow rule of law thus only by Political negotiation which will mean compromise to the Biafra struggle will Nigeria Government release Prophet Nnamdi Kanu and Nnamdi Kanu may NEVER accept such compromise which means continuous detention in the DSS dongeon and or demanding in prison custody. Biafrans clamouring for a court appearance or demanding in prison custody should know deep down that court appearance and or remanding in prison custody alone cannot bring Biafra or grant Nnamdi Kanu freedom judging from the kind of Jubilation from Fulani Government officials as if they kidnapped Abubakar Shakau of Boko-Haram. We must also acknowledge the fact that it is only Almighty God that have stopped their plans to kill Nnamdi Kanu as we all know that no IPOB family member or IPOB-DOS member have summoned the courage to even pay him a visit in the DSS dongeon. Nnamdi Kanu has performed tremendously well and to me and from what I know, he has played his role and cannot kill himself for Biafrans. He will not and cannot do everything for us. However, In every generation, God raises Prophets, Judges and Leaders at his discretion as God's decisions and ways are absolutely unquestionable. He raised Leaders like Saul and when Saul was done with his role, David was raised. This doesn't mean to undermine Saul's accomplishments. NO! Before Israel had a king, it had a series of tribal leaders called judges. God used these men and women to save the Israelites from their enemies and lead them back to him. The Book of Judges records this dark chapter in ancient Jewish history, noting each judge’s deeds and the circumstances surrounding them. After Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, Joshua led them into the promised land. When Joshua and his generation died, so did the Israelites’ knowledge of God (Judges 2:10). They began worshipping other gods. So the Lord handed them over to their enemies and used the surrounding nations to test them, seeing whether they would walk in his ways as their ancestors did (Judges 2:22). That’s when the judges came in: “Then the Lord raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of these raiders.” —Judges 2:16 But every time a judge died, Israel went astray again, returning to sinful practices and idolatry. It was a constant cycle of sin and deliverance. Israel rebels. God disciplines them. Israel repents. God delivers them. Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon, Tola, Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon, Samson. Morover, the book of 1 Samuel lists Eli the priest, Samuel the prophet, and Samuel’s sons as leaders in this respect, too (1 Samuel 4:18; 1 Samuel 7:15–8:3). There are also a few other important leaders in Judges, like Barak. However, they’re not usually grouped with the twelve featured in the book of Judges. Some of the more well-known judges (like Gideon and Samson) get several chapters in the Book of Judges. Others only get a paragraph. Shamgar gets a single verse. General Innocent Orji is not a civilian leader but a military commander of Biafra Army who have successfully raised Battalions off Soldiers and is anointed, prepared and ready to restore Biafra and defend her boarders against all internal and external territorial aggression. He is not a type that sought after praises. He is not the type that shows off. He believes in action and implementation as he's not an orator. If Biafrans must get it right, it is a must to acknowledge the works, sacrifices, achievements as well as shortcomings of all who have paid the price for Biafra. While we're not going to dwell on the shortcomings of these Biafra Leaders for the purpose of moving forward to the ultimate goal - Biafra Restoration), it is self-evident that Leader Ralph Uwazurike has played his role in ressusitating the name Biafra after decades when the mention of Biafra was almost an abomination in Nigeria. When Uwazurike was done with his role, the spirit of Elohim appointed Prophet Nnamdi who founded the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). There's no gainsaying that Prophet Nnamdi Kanu and the global family of IPOB has done immensely well in ressurecting all the sleeping Leopards, Tigers, lions and Lionesses that will take the kingdom of God by force and his efforts will surely be rewarded in due course. It takes only an idiot to argue that fact that Nnamdi Kanu and the global family of IPOB raised the crescendo of the BIAFRA struggle, popularized it, internationalized it and took the gospel if BIAFRA to the extremity of the earth as ordained by Almighty. Now is the time to rake the bull by the horn and claim Victory because victory only belongs to God and not to man. The singular interest of Innocent Orji is to complete the job Prophet Nnamdi Kanu took over from Ralph Uwazurike. Innocent Orji is not a man of sermons and rectorics. He's not after receiving showers of praises but he's out to take the bull by the horn and do the needful which he is destined by ChiukwuOkikeAbiama. Innocent Orji is not a Biafra civilian group Leader but a Biafra Military Commander promoted to the ranks of a General by Chiukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu out eternal Leader. He has spent about 11 years in prison custody at the Onitsha prisons while 16 other Pro-Biafran Activists sentenced alongside him are still languishing in Onitsha and Awka prisons respectively. Hundreds of other Pro-Biafran Activists are littered in vatious detention facilities of Nigeria and the most gruesome rape of democratic rule of Law and flaunting of International Laws in the kidnap and Extraordinary Rendition of Prophet Nnamdi Kanu. These innocent Pro-Biafran prisoners of Conscience must not be left there without Justice upon a failed state like Nigeria where the Politicians dictate for the Judiciary which case to hear and which case to ignore till infinitum. Moreso, in my capacity as in Independent Investigative journalist, while communicating directly with General Innocent Orji, he told me directly that "the immediate and unconditional release of Prophet Nnamdi Kanu is amongst his initial demands from the occupational Government of Nigeria". On 27th-30th October 2021, BNG will address the global powers that be and all foreign and Diplomatic missions in Nigeria. Whosoever that tries to sabotage Biafra restoration because of human egocentrism and Leadership turzle shall face the wrath of the people of BIAFRA and the wrath of the spirits that God placed in charge of the Land and Waters of BIAFRA as Biafraland is a supernatural enclave, the spiritual Head of Humanity and thus more than just a Country or another African Nation that will witness a turmoil or post independence fracas. Let me re-emphasize that BNG has no leadership interest and would relinquish leadership to all the civilians that contributed to the course irrespective of respective groups. All BNG wants is to do is the finishing work and deliver Biafra to the administration of civilians that have worked tremendously and sincerely for the restoration of Biafra. It is therefore absolutely imperative that all sincere Indigenous Biafrans MUST reach out NOW to General Innocent Orji and his Battalions of Biafra Army from now till their maiden Live broadcast that has been announced for 27th-30th October, 2021. Taking a decisive action of self-defence is the only way to halt the impending doom of a planned Jihad from the Fulani Caliphate Nigerian Government unannounced genocide and State sponsored terrorism against Indigenous Biafrans. To all sincere Indigenous global community of Biafrans, lovers of freedom, children of the Most High ChiukwuOkikeAbiama, people of the rising Sun, children of the epicenter of the world, beginning of the earth Creation, you must all remember that freedom cannot be given to you by any world court, world power or any person except you and your CHI. If you so much desire freedom that slavery is choking on you, you all must form a synergy with General Innocent Orji led BIAFRAN NATIONAL GUARD (Biafra Army) and go out there and take it by force because "The kingdom of God (BIAFRA) suffereth VIOLENCE, and only the VIOLENT (General Innocent Orji - BIAFRAN NATIONAL GUARD) taketh it by FORCE". NGpatriot:Let me break it down for you to understand. If a business man that is expected to travel on Monday to Onitsha or Nnewi in order to re-stock his shop latest on Wednesday fails to do so, what it means is that customers that would visit his shop to buy goods would probably be asked to return on Thursday. So, he will be loosing money on Wednesday.. Hope you get it now |
Commentor:And you think yorubas business men and women don't travel with these transport companies? You think their businesses are not affected already? Do you know how much money lagos state revenue collectors are loosing every Monday because these companies don't work to full capacity on Mondays? Do you also know that the purchasing power of these companies's workers are affected on Mondays, and in turn they would purchase less goods from the iya Basiratu and iya Kudi. Do you also know that your fellow yorubas do businesses around these companies vicinities? |

ANALYSIS/OPINION: Professor Ivan Sheehan’s opinion piece published in the October 4, 2021 edition of the Washington Times and entitled “U.S. Ignores Small African Terrorist Group, IPOB at its peril” was a travesty that could endanger the lives of over 50 million Igbo people of southeastern Nigeria. The piece was wrong and offensive in its entirety because Professor Sheehan did not present any truth that will help the world assess and evaluate the security situation in Nigeria. This has the danger of encouraging the Nigerian government to continue its raging onslaught against the defenseless indigenous people of the Middlebelt and southern Nigeria (Including Biafra), who are mostly Christians. It was dangerous because Professor Sheehan wants to shield from world view the genocide that is taking place against these indigenous people of the Middlebelt and southern Nigerian being systematically carried out by ISIS backed Boko Haram and armed Fulani Herdsmen Equally dangerous to American interests and Homeland Security in that it shields the growing reality of the entire West African region becoming the new epicenter of Islamic Terrorism just on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean from the US. WIC is a Texas Corporation that caters to the interests of the Igbo of southeastern Nigeria who, due to the inclement political and security circumstances in Nigeria, live or have taken asylum in the US and other parts of the world. Igbo people number over 50 million and their ancestral home is part of the territory where IPOB and ESN function to ameliorate the unfolding genocide. The same Igbo people suffered a pogrom that claimed 30,000 lives in 1966 and a war that claimed over 3 million people in 1967/1970. Biafrans are the victims of the unfolding ethnic cleansing that the world needs to be aware of. Biafrans are the victims in the ongoing “shoot-at-sight” order issued by the rouge Nigeria government and being executed by Boko Haram in the Nigerian military and police uniforms. Biafrans are the same people against whom the recently acquired twelve American-made A-29 Super Tucano ground attack aircrafts, supposed to be used against Boko Haram are being used to strafe. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as the name suggests, is a group standing up against injustice and human rights abuses in Nigeria while agitating for a referendum to ensure equitable governance. They believe in the inalienable rights of all indigenous peoples of this world to self-determination as expounded in the United Nations Declaration A/61/295 of 2007. In 2020, when it was clear that the government of Nigeria was actually sponsoring attacks on defenseless Igbo people, IPOB set up the Eastern Security Network (ESN) which functioned like guards without the capacity for real coercion. The formation of ESN became necessary when the killer Fulani Herdsmen had, with the protection of the federal government, illegally set up over 400 camps in the forests and farmlands of Igbo land from where they terrorized the villages in various despicable ways such as raping, kidnapping and ransom extortion, destruction of farm crops, maiming and outright brutal massacre. Images from these activities are too gory for this write-up but can be made available as needed. The leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, a British citizen, was recently illegally abducted from Kenya and is being held by Nigeria’s security services without fair legal processes. This is the group Professor Sheehan dangerously called a terrorist organization. It is important to state that IPOB and ESN do not meet the three State Department’s criteria for classifying any organization as terrorists and registering them in the Global Terrorism Index. Consequently, the US and the rest of the world have, rightly, not classified them as such. It is also worth stating that the murderous Fulani Herdsmen have met all three criteria for classification as terrorists but have always been shielded by Nigeria using fierce propaganda. We believe that Professor Sheehan’s piece is ill-motivated and probably was induced by the propaganda machine of the Nigerian Government and has the potential to negatively impact the journalistic standards of the Washington Times and tarnish its reputation. This Op-Ed has become necessary in order to mitigate the damage the opinion piece has done. Professor Sheehan should be made to retract it. We encourage Professor Sheehan to seek avenues to educate himself on the true situation in Nigeria so he does not endanger the lives of over 50 Million Christians at the hands of the Jihadist government of Nigeria and also damages America’s Homeland Security. • Professor Anthony Ejiofor is the Executive Chairman of WIC https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/oct/13/ipob-not-terrorist-organization/ Copyright © 2021 The Washington Times, LLC. LadyExcellency:http://saharareporters.com/2021/10/04/nigerian-soldiers-flee-unknown-gunmen-enforce-sit-home-enugu-imo-burn-tricycle |
A tricycle was on Monday morning burnt by unknown gunmen who were allegedly enforcing the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Enugu State. The gunmen were said to have intercepted the tricycle at Amechi Road, beside Romchi filling station in Enugu. SaharaReporters gathered that soldiers who were called to calm the situation fled after a gun battle with the gunmen. “The gunmen asked the rider why he refused to remain indoors. The owner and his passengers were unhurt. The Keke (commercial tricycle) was carrying passengers. They forced the occupants out, collected their phones, and set the Keke ablaze. “When Nigerian soldiers came for the distress call, the gunmen engaged them and they fled. The army zoomed off from unknown gunmen around St. Paul’s Primary School, Achara Layout, Enugu,” a source told SaharaReporters. Also, gunmen suspected to be members of IPOB have stormed the streets and markets of Owerri, the Imo state capital to ensure residents stay indoors even though the pro-Biafra group has kicked against such enforcement. There was pandemonium in the town as gunmen forced traders to close shops. In a report by Daily Trust, motorists quickly made U-turns while many passengers disembarked from their vehicles. The confusion, which started at Wethral Road, spread to neighbouring Mbaise Road, Douglas Road, and Naze along the Aba- Owerri Road. Some traders at the multi-million Alaba International Market and Naze Cluster markets were said to have closed their shops and locked the gates leading to the market. Hoodlums took advantage of the situation to scatter some wares already displayed by shop owners who had fled. Schools were closed while parents rushed to pick up their children. It was not immediately known what actually happened, but it was gathered that the gunmen had arrived Owerri from Aba ostensibly to enforce the order in Imo. On August 9, IPOB started the enforcement of the lockdown. The sit-at-home order is to protest against the arrest and detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. However, on August 13, IPOB stated that the Ghost Monday would no longer hold every Monday based on the directive from its leader, Kanu who said it should be observed only on the day he appears in court. Despite the suspension, some unknown gunmen in the South-East still enforce the order, preventing people from opening shops and engaging in commercial activities. Recently, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said anyone caught enforcing the order henceforth, would be dealt with. Over the past weeks, unidentified gunmen have targeted famous people in the South-East. Most of the attacks have been blamed on the members of IPOB, whose leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is in detention over charges of treason. In June, Kanu was arrested in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria to face treason charges. He was subsequently arraigned and brought before Binta Nyako, a Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, who asked him to be remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). Kanu is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony instituted against him at the court in response to his agitation for the Republic of Biafra. He was granted bail in April 2017 on health grounds but skipped bail after disregarding some of the conditions given to him by the court. On July 26, Justice Nyako adjourned his trial till October 21, owing to the failure of the Nigerian government to produce him in court. http://saharareporters.com/2021/10/04/nigerian-soldiers-flee-unknown-gunmen-enforce-sit-home-enugu-imo-burn-tricycle |
