Muhammadu Buhari has departed his hometown of Daura to Katsina en route Abuja after participating in the presidential and National Assembly elections held on February 23, 2018.

Buhari was seen off at the helipad in Daura by the Emir of Daura Alhaji Farouk Umar ,well wishers and relations .

Buhari left Daura at 10:am on Monday in a presidential helicopter marked NA-541.
NAN also reports that the president was expected back in Daura by next week to enable him to participate in the Governorship and State Assembly elections scheduled for March 9.

ASABA – THE Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced the announcement of local government area results for the last Saturday presidential election in Delta State.


Announcing the results from five local governments out of the 25 local governments in the State, INEC said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, polled 14, 681 votes in Ukwani local government against President Mohammadu Buhari’s 4,552 votes.

While Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had 29,331 votes in Ika North East local government, President Mohammadu Buhari had 5,265 votes. In Patani Local government, PDP won with 17,028 against APC’s 4,789.

Also in Aniocha North Local Government, PDP led with 12,996 and APC, 3,674 as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 19,700 and President Mohammadu Buhari had 1,960 in Oshimili North Local Government.

Meanwhile, INEC has adjourned further announcement of presidential election results till noon today.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far declared results of 13 local government areas.

The Commission is awaiting the results of other 10 Local government areas.
Prof. Bello Shehu, the collation officer, declared President Buhari of the APC as winner in eight local government areas.

Shehu said that the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar won in five local government areas.

NAN reports that the APC has won in Ikara, Makarfi, Kudan, Kubau Giwa, Sabon Gari, Soba, Kauru local government areas.

Shehu said the PDP won in Kaura, Zangon Kataf, Kagarko, Jaba and Kajuru local government areas.

Results of the Presidential poll from Zaria, Birnin Gwari, Sanga, Igabi , Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chukun, Lere, Jema’a and Kachia are still being awaited.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to spring surprises in Saturday’s general elections, winning the Senatorial and Presidential polls in unit 004 Hinderea Road, Liverpool area, Apapa Lagos.

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Mr Jimi Agbaje voted at the polling unit.
Announcing the results after delays in sorting the votes, the Polling Officer, Mr Omolain Ehichioya, said the APC polled 83 votes in the presidential election at the unit while PDP got 80 votes.

He said the Young Democratic Party (YPP) , the Social Democratic Party (SDP) the African Democratic Party (ADP), and African Action Congress (AAC) and Alliance for Peoples Agenda (APA) and Yes Electorate Solidarity (YES) party got one vote each.

In the Senatorial results, the APC got 88 votes, the PDP 79 while Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)and People’s Trust (PT) got one vote each.

However, the PDP got the highest vote of 84 in the House of Representatives results, followed closely by APC with 74 votes and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) with eight votes.

Abundant Renewal Nigeria Party (ANRP) recorded two votes while Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) got one vote.

The results represent those of only a polling unit and do not indicate the final figures (NAN)

PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in one of the two polling units located inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Atiku polled 525 against Buhari’s 465 at PU 022 . There are still results of three voting points pending in the second polling unit, PU 021. There are two polling units in the seat power.

Former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has said that legendary Red Devils boss, Alex Ferguson and ex-Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger were his “sweet enemies”.

According to Mourinho, it was all about confrontation of forces between himself, Ferguson and Wenger during their time in the Premier League.

He stated this ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

“Wenger is a very intelligent person and one of the best managers in the history of football,” Mourinho was quoted by Goal as saying.

“I arrived in England and I found ‘the Invincibles’ and I found Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson very much hurt by that Arsenal season.

“And we were like a third force coming. Chelsea had a great desire to be champions for the first time in so many years. So, of course, it was the confrontation of forces and you can imagine that Sir Alex, Wenger and myself we were fighting for the same. We were like, I like to say in football, ‘sweet enemies’.

“My feeling is where are the next ‘Invincibles’? Where are they? Who did it again? Who made people forget that he was the manager of the invincible team? Lots of philosophies, lots of talk, lots of PR. Football today is a lot about this, but [it is about] results, and who did better than him?”

Chukwuma Agbo, Assistant Coach, Beach Soccer national team, the Super Sand Eagles, is dead.

His death came barely 10 days after the demise of Taiwo Ogunjobi, who passed on, on Monday, Feb. 11.

Agbo, former Rangers International and Delta Force Head Coach’s death was confirmed on Wednesday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

In a tweet via its official Twitter handle (@thenff), the NFF said Agbo’s death was sad:

“Yet another painful loss! We are sad to hear of the passing of Assistant Coach of our Beach Soccer National team, the Super Sand Eagles, Chukwuma Agbo.

‘‘Our prayers are with his family at this time. May his soul rest in peace,” the NFF said.

The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that Agbo died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

The late Agbo, who resigned as the head coach of Delta Force in January, led the club to the Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8, where they ended fourth in Group B.

Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, has claimed Real Madrid benefit from refereeing decisions.

Madrid’s basketball team tasted disappointment on Sunday, when they were downed 94-93 by their arch-rivals in the Copa del Rey final.

The aftermath of that game, was dominated by Madrid accusations that Barca had benefited from several questionable calls, which led to their victory.

But Pique pointed out that in scenarios where the Merengue receive a perceived advantage from officials, like February’s VAR-dominated 3-1 derby victory over Atletico, no comment is made.

“[Madrid’s complaints] happen in football, it happens in basketball, at least they don’t have any other sports because we’d have to suffer it in hockey and handball too.

“Then they go to the Wanda, the referees help them and then they shut up and don’t complain.

“There were mistakes [in the Copa final] in Madrid’s favour first and then in Barca’s favour. And well, later we had this whole show from Madrid with the referees.

“In the end if the referees hadn’t been wrong Barcelona would have won. In the end it is all noise to cover up the usual issue, that Barcelona are champions, and to hide the merits of the players who lifted a cup in Madrid.

“I am very proud of these players,” Pique told reporters, when asked on the Copa final, following Barca’s 0-0 Champions League draw against Lyon on Tuesday night.
