A Nigerian girl, Blessing Obuson, who thought Russia’s soccer World Cup would be an opportunity to find a job and flew into Moscow, last June, instead, found herself forced to work as a prostitute.

According to Reuters, Obuson, 19, said she had hoped to work as a shop assistant to provide for her 2-year-old daughter and younger siblings back in Edo state.

Instead, she said she was locked in a flat on the outskirts of Moscow and forced into sex work along with 11 other Nigerian women who were supervised by a madam, also from Nigeria.

“I cried really hard. But what choice did I have?” Obuson told Reuters after being freed by anti-slavery activists. She said her madam had confiscated her passport and told her she’d only get it back once she’d worked off a debt of $50k.

Two Nigerians were later arrested and charged with human trafficking after striking a deal to sell Obuson for $30,000 to a police officer posing as a client.

Obuson’s case is not isolated. Reuters also met eight Nigerian women aged between 16 and 22 brought into Russia on fan IDs and forced into sex work. All said they had endured violence.

“They don’t give you food for days, they slap you, they beat you, they spit in your face... It’s like a cage,” said one 21-year old woman.

In September, a Nigerian woman was killed by a man who refused to pay for sex, police said. The Nigerian embassy later identified her as 22-year old Alifat Momoh who had come to Russia from Nigeria with a fan ID for the World Cup.

Russian police say 1,863 Nigerians who entered the country with fan IDs had not left by Jan. 1, the date when the IDs expired.

Barely a day after YouTube restored Tiwa Savage’s ‘ONE’ video ,it has been revealed that , Danny Young has slammed the singer with a two hundred million naira lawsuit.

If you recall,Danny Young had accused Tiwa Savage of unlawfully copying his 2009 song ,’Oni Tiwon’ in her 2018 track ‘ONE’.

This caused Youtube to pull down the video for a few months .

The singers is now seeking 200 million naira damages from Tiwa Savage and her record label, Mavins Records for for copyright infringement.

The lawsuit (Suit No: FHC/L/CS/230/2019) was filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos, on the 13th day of February, 2019.

Nollywood actress, Charity Nnaji has survived a car accident.

According to the actress, her car lost control and somersaulted twice, but thankfully she came out unhurt.

She wrote on social media;

‘Devil you are a liar, Imdeed he is a wonderful God. God saved my life yesterday night. My car lost control and somersaulted twice,, and to the glory of God i came out alive’, she wrote.


This is coming barely months after the actress was all over the news after she stated that all baby mamas became one due to one night stands.

Speaking with Vanguard, she said a friend of her’s who is a musician told her “how he was drunk after performing on stage only for him to return to his hotel room and the host of the show had a girl waiting for him in his room.

“What happened thereafter, he said he could recall but he knew he actually made love that night but could not tell if he came inside the girl or not. One month later, he told me the so-called girl called him to inform him she was pregnant.

“This is how most baby mamas in the entertainment industry came to be. Most of them are a product of a one night stand. This is not the only case I know, there are many other cases.”

Charity also had tongues wagging after she revealed that she got a car gift from a fan.

“It all started like this, I update my whats app status with the caption BORED, a fan repiled back to my status asking me why I was bored, I told him so many things is making me feel bored, he replied LIKE what and what do you really want,,surprisely I said I need a car as a birthday gift .

“He replied (JUST THAT) and to my greatest surprise ,he said consider it done,,,pls if you want to hear the rest of the testimony kindly find your way to my church where I will be sharing the rest of the testimony, indeed our God is a wonderful God ,I just join the league of small girls with big God ,,#small girl with big God,nollywood finest #,give it shall be given unto you.”

A Nigerian rapper and drug dealer who decided on bragging about his criminal lifestyle in a music video has been arrested and jailed in the UK.

The young man known as Adetokunbo Ajibola, 26, has now been sentenced to a total of 5 years’ imprisonment after he admitted to the ”possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of criminal property at a previous hearing.”

According to reports, Ajibola jumped from the second floor of his apartment as officers forced entry to the premises. He was, however, later caught.


Rooms on the second floor was searched and described in court as a “drug preparation factory”. 241 grams of high-purity cocaine and mixing agents, along with nearly 60 grams of crack cocaine, and 240 grams of cannabis were found.

Ajibola who is popularly known by his stage name Trapstar Toxic in the music video for the song “Out Ere” recited lyrics “weight [drugs] in the trap and I’ll be done if feds [police] raid it, I’m one step ahead I ain’t complacent”.

Recall famous rapper Sauce Kid also made news last year after it was revealed he had been jailed for card fraud in the US.

Speaking to Notjustok after is release, the rapper said; “Jail hasn’t been all that bad. Truth is, jail has actually been quite productive,” he said.

“In my first year, I was locked up for 22 hours in a day, I wrote a lot of raps… I wrote like 180 songs in my first year and another 120 in my second year,” he said.

Sauce Kid also made news last year after Davido revealed he had just signed him.

Speaking on why he signed the rapper, Davido said;

‘Sinzu has been a great friend of mine, he was one of my mentors when I first started and when I heard he had got out, I spoke to him and he was really proud of me and what I had accomplished and I was like, Yo Sinzu, come to DMW, let’s run this stuff, he is my big brother, expect his album this year..

For now, we are working on getting him back to Nigeria.”

Owerri – Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, and Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been declared Senator-elect of Imo west senatorial zone.


Okorocha was declared winner on Monday by the returning officer, Francis Ibeawuchi at the collation center in Orlu local government area of Imo state.
According to Ibeabuchi, Okorocha garnered 97,762 to thrash his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jones Onyereri who got 68,117 as well as that of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, with 30, 923 to come the third position.

But Onyereri of the PDP, has raised the alarm that the returning officer, Ibeawuchi was forced to declare Okorocha winner.

He said: ” “I am here to alert the whole world an hour ago that collation center for the Imo West Senatorial district have been invaded alleging that, “they are forcing the returning officer, Professor Francis Ibewuchi to declare Okorocha winner.

Onyereri was worried that, the manner at which “the governor, with his staff, security agents led by the assistant Commissioner of police, Onu arrived at the collation center.

“At about 1am, Ibeawuchi pleaded that let us go to Owerri and announce this result that he is not safe again at the collation center, but they refused and stopped the man I hope the man stays alive in the next one minute. We are calling on international community to come to our rescue concerning the invasion.”

“Just imagine, the number turned out in Ideato federal constituency is far above the registered voters.

“As it is now, they have not announced the genuine results, that is why they refused the man from coming to Owerri.” He said
