Nairaland GeneralCan It Get Any Worse??? Osun Workers To Begin Indefinite Strike Today by Mzflexydeeva(op): 6:09am On May 26, 2015
The Osun Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Mr Adekomi Jacob, says workers in the state will begin an indefinite strike today because of non-payment of salaries and entitlements to workers. The chairman spoke a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday, where he disclosed that six months salaries had not been paid to workers. Jacob said that the state government’s refusal to pay salaries of workers and arrears of retirees’ pension, among others, prompted its members to resolve to embark on an indefinite strike. “The strike will commence from May 26 (today) until when the demands of the unions and workers are met.

“All workers in the state are advised to stay at home until further directive by the Labour,” Jacob said. Jacob said workers in Osun were being owned six months salaries and the situation had placed untold hardship on workers and their dependants. He said that the state government had not been serious about the matter. “Despite the 14 days ultimatum given by the union to allow the state government to take drastic action to the effect, no payment was effected,” he said. 17 unions were present at the NUJ secretariat in Osogbo to support the move by the NLC for the strike.

PoliticsRe: APC States Incurred Bulk Of $63bn Debt – Chief Olisa Metuh. by Mzflexydeeva(op): 6:01am On May 26, 2015
Mzflexydeeva:
The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday said Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, misrepresented facts on the state of the nation’s economy.

The party specifically faulted Osinbajo’s claims on the correct status of the nation’s government debt stock.

It alleged that the misinterpretation was part of a ploy by the in-coming All Progressives Congress administration, to discredit the PDP.

This was contained in a statement signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh.

Metuh criticised the Vice President-elect for failing to be bold and honest enough to also inform the nation that the bulk of the $63.7bn debt was incurred by the APC states.

He said, “It is indeed unfortunate that the Vice President-elect who has the details of the debt stock chose to be economical with the truth and to mislead Nigerians just to discredit the current PDP-led administration and rationalise the APC’s unpreparedness for governance.

“Prof. Osinbajo is aware that the $63.7bn is made up of external and domestic debts belonging not only to the Federal Government but to federal and state governments and accumulating since the 1960s, yet he deliberately misrepresented the facts to give the unsuspecting public the impression that the amount was exclusively incurred by the current Federal Government.

“Perhaps the Vice President-elect avoided the details so as not to expose the fact that the APC controlled Lagos State has the highest external debt stock of $1.169bn as well as the highest domestic debt stock of N278.867bn.”

The PDP further stated that it finds it unacceptable and un-statesmanlike for the Vice President-elect “to attempt to mislead Nigerians into believing that the total federal debt component was accumulated under the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, when it is on record that a greater chunk of the amount was inherited.”

According to the PDP, it is also on record that part of the contemporary borrowing from the domestic bond market was occasioned by the global economic and financial crisis as well as the downturn in crude oil revenue, which adversely affected other economies of the world.

The party berating the in-coming administration for dwelling on excuses and reneging on campaign promises, the PDP wondered if the APC and the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, did not know about the economic challenges caused by the dwindling oil revenues before making their bogus promises to Nigerians.

“The APC must fulfill its promises for which Nigerians voted for them. Were they not aware of the debt stock and the dwindling oil revenues before making their huge promises to the people? Were the promises only intended as carrots to mislead the people and deceitfully win their votes after which they are dumped?” the PDP queried.

The party said the in-coming administration should stop contriving excuses and understand that Nigerians expect nothing short of the fulfillment of its campaign promises in its four years rule, especially given that the solid foundation for wealth creation has already been laid by the PDP, which also remained truthful and honest in making promises to the people during the campaign.

Nairaland GeneralNigeria's Debt: Why Is Okonjo-iweala Is Trying To Defend GEJ? by Mzflexydeeva(op): 5:41am On May 26, 2015
Sometime last week, the Vice-President-elect, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, said that the new government would inherit a total national debt stock of $60bn from the outgoing Jonathan government.

This statement rightly enraged a lot of Nigerians, including my humble self and we sought some explanation on how this humongous amount was accumulated.

But in a swift reaction, the Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, faulted the claims and stated that the $60bn was the total debt stock accumulated from independence.

According to the Harvard trained economist, the debt was not accumulated by the Jonathan government alone. She then made a statement that has continued to baffle me ever since.

She said that the Jonathan government has accumulated “only” about $26bn. You mean, $26 billion debt in five years?

Ok…I have some simple questions for the eminent economist.

First, under the Olusegun Obasanjo government where Okonjo-Iweala served as the finance minister, we were told that she successfully led Nigeria to clear all her debts. So, this new figure of $60bn, does it include the ones written off too?

Second, if Jonathan borrowed about $26bn in five years, what specific projects were those loans used to finance?

$26 billion is a lot of money, you know.

Aliko Dangote’s world class refinery project has a total cost of $9bn, yet we borrowed $26bn and there is no visible project anywhere to justify this amount?

I hear the Second Niger Bridge will cost about N240bn…has this been paid for completely?

How come President Goodluck Jonathan borrowed that kind of money and none of our refineries is working, even at half capacity?

Does this amount also include the $1bn Jonathan planned to borrow to fight Boko Haram?

At the current official exchange rate, $26bn is about N5.174tn.

What was this money used for? What of the revenues we earned from oil?

The crash in oil prices started a few months ago.

I don’t understand this kind of voodoo economics.

Someone should help me out. Maybe, I am wrong. I hope I am. My head is aching…

RomanceInsecurity: Relationship Nuclear Weapon. by Mzflexydeeva(op): 6:07pm On May 25, 2015
A feeling of been vulnerable or inferior in some way, or a sense of vulnerability or instability which threatens one's self-image or ego.
A lot of people today feel infidelity is the greatest weapon against a relationship but that in itself is not as fatal as insecurity.

It is insecurity that makes a lady wanna go over her man's phone in a bid to ensure he's not cheating.

It's insecurity that makes a guy wanna view his woman's entire call log.

A lot of people have ruined beautiful relationships because of insecurity. This is often as a result of past experiences & heart break but you must also understand that life itself is a risk.

It is often said that " a mother cannot vouch for the child @ her back only the one in her tummy.

Ladies allow him keep female friends and If you are uncomfortable talk to him.
Don't go screaming in the background every time you think he's talking to a lady.

Don't dress too revealing because you are trying to mark your territory.

Never publicly fight another lady because you have fears.

Respect your man even when you feel his other female friends are around.

Some ladies exhibit these traits without even knowing it.
You know your man is seeing his friends(girls) and you choose to call him every two mins.
You are together with his friends and you laff even when no one has said anything.
You kiss him over and over again in public because you want his friends to get jealous....

Nothing puts a woman off more than insecurity. It is ok to get jealous but when your insecurity takes a better part of you, you can kiss your man goodbye...

PoliticsBuhari Shocks Nigerian High Commission Officials In London, Rejects Their Rolls by Mzflexydeeva(op):
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari is currently on a private visit to London. However, according to reports, on Friday he turned down the use of a Rolls Royce made available for him by the Nigerian High Commission in London. Buhari was said to have shocked officials of the High Commission when, on landing at the Heathrow Airport, he refused to make use of the Rolls Royce and other exotic facilities made available for him. According to the nation, after Buhari exchanged pleasantries with the embassy
officials led by the High Commissioner, Dr Dalhatu Tafida, he politely told them that his visit was strictly private and he had made arrangement for all his needs while in the UK.
He was said to have also thanked them for the warm reception and quickly hopped into a less flamboyant car he had arranged for and drove out of the airport. A source told the Nation, “It appeared he was uncomfortable with the number of exotic cars in the convoy. “Hard as the stunned diplomats present tried to convince him, he refused to bulge, insisting that since he did not inform the Commission of his visit because it was not an official trip, hence he was not entitled to such grandeur.” In a related development, Buhari on Saturday held talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron at his 10, Downing Street official residence. Their discussion centred majorly on the continued threat to Nigeria’s security by terror group, Boko Haram.

Nairaland GeneralNew PDP Bot Chairman May Emerge Today by Mzflexydeeva(op): 5:21am On May 25, 2015
A new Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party may emerge today (Monday).

The position became vacant on May 20, 2015, following the resignation of Chief Tony Anenih.

His decision to step down was linked to the party’s dismal performance during the 2015 general elections and repeated calls by aggrieved party leaders on members of the BoT as well as the members of the National Working Committee to resign.

In what appears to be a last ditch effort to stem the crisis within the party from further degenerating, the secretary to the BoT, Senator Walid Jibril, has convened an emergency meeting of members of the board.

The meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 8pm at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, is expected to have in attendance over 100 members of the body.

Jibril issued the notice for the 48th BoT meeting amidst growing calls for members of the NWC to resign.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not made public, it was gathered that top on the agenda is the state of affairs within the party as well as Anenih’s replacement.

When contacted, Jibril confirmed to The PUNCH over the telephone that the meeting would discuss issues aimed at repositioning the party for greater efficiency.

Asked if a new chairman of the BoT would emerge after the meeting, Jibril said, “It depends on the mode of the discussions. You know, there are a lot of issues to be considered like: where the chairman of the party is coming from and where the BoT chairman is to come from.

“You know the two most important party positions are the party chairman and the chairman of the BoT where this two people come from will be considered.”

Also, a member of the BoT, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, said he received the notice of the meeting and confirmed that he would attend the parley.

He, however, said he was not privy to the agenda of the meeting but that he was not in doubt that pressing party issues would be discussed.

Babatope said,“Yes, the BoT is meeting tomorrow (today) at 8pm. I do not have an idea of what the agenda is.”

Although it is not clear how many members are willing to take a shot at the top job, it was however learnt that outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan would be given the right of first refusal.

Nairaland GeneralObasanjo’s Sister, Madam Eweje, Dies by Mzflexydeeva(op): 5:11am On May 25, 2015
A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has lost his younger sister, Madam Adunni Eweje-Obasanjo.

According to a statement on Sunday in Abeokuta, she died at the age of 76 last Tuesday at a private hospital in Ota, Ogun State, after a brief illness.

Obasanjo broke the sad news when he hosted women leaders from the South-West at his residence in Abeokuta on Sunday. The women were led by the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson.

The women leaders later prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed, asking God to give the Obasanjo family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Some members of the Christ Chapel of the Glorious King, the church where Obasanjo worships, also visited the former President to commiserate with him.

One of Madam Eweje’s daughters, Titi, who spoke with journalists, said burial arrangements would be announced later.

Health10 Benefits Of Sleeping Naked You Probably Didn’t Know by Mzflexydeeva(op): 11:11pm On May 10, 2015
Sleeping is one of the most important things we do every night. Getting the right amount of sleep has an untold number of health benefits and not getting enough sleep is a serious problem in many countries around the world. Did you know that you can get additional benefits by sleeping naked? Here are some benefits of sleeping in the nude:

1. It is easier.

When you don’t have to worry about sleeping in clothes, things start to get easier. You don’t have to buy pajamas, which can save you money. You have less clothes to wash and less clothes to put away. You may have to clean your bed sheets more often, but not nearly as often as you’d have to wash your pajamas when you run out.

2. It forces you to be ready to go more often.

3. It can make you feel happier and more free.

Just imagine the feeling of laying in bed naked. You’re free of your pants and underwear. Women, you’re not wearing a constrictive bra.

4. Skin-on-skin contact is the best.

If you’re married, or living with your significant other, sleeping naked gives a greater chance of skin-on-skin contact, especially when it comes to cuddling.

5. It could lead to better sleep.

6. It can help your skin.

For once your body gets to breathe. Your private parts, armpits, and feet are generally restricted all day.

7. Helps you regulate your cortisol.

Cortisol is a very strange chemical in the body but it can do a lot of damage. When you sleep naked, it helps keep your body temperature at the optimal ranges so your body can better create cortisol. If you sleep overheated your cortisol levels tend to stay high, even after you wake up. This can lead to increased anxiety, cravings for bad food, weight gain, and more terrible things.

8. Balances your melatonin and growth hormone.

Continuing along that same vein, keeping your sleeping environment below 70 degrees (F) every night can help your body regulate its melatonin and growth hormone levels. These chemicals help the body do things like prevent aging and are essential to good health. When you sleep in clothes, your body heats up and prevents effective use of these hormones. In other words, sleeping with clothes on makes you grow old faster .

9. It can keep your sex organs happier.

For men, the cooler sleeping conditions allows your testes to remain at a cooler temperature. This helps keep your sperm healthy and your reproductive systems functioning as normal. For women, the cooler and more airy sleeping conditions can actually help prevent yeast infections. Yeast grows better in warm, moist conditions. When it’s cooler and dryer, the growth of yeast is prevented.

10. Sleeping in the summer is more bearable.

With these tips in mind, it’s time to start taking off your clothes at night! Of course, there are times where clothes are preferable. If you are ill or it’s cold outside, then you should sleep with clothes on to help you stay warm and prevent further illness. Otherwise, go commando

FamilyBefore "YES" Ladies by Mzflexydeeva(op): 9:57pm On May 10, 2015
For every lady who is of marriage age, there's so much joy in finding some1 you love and want to share your life but simply because you are of age to get married doesn't mean you just throw caution to the wind. You should @ least consider some things.
1. His source of income: am not here to say money 1st but i'm saying if you must marry a loaded guy be sure to know what of job keeps him loaded.
2. His journey thus far: for some the past doesn't matter but if you are going to spend your life with a guy it is necessary you know his journey thus far that way you can relate with certain situations around him.
3.‎ His weakness: it is better to know a guy's weakness that way you can manage things. His strength will always be to make him a better person but when you know his weakness you make your relationship a better one.
4. His plans: Don't be in a rush to change your last name rather be eager to build an empire with him. If changing your last name is all ‎that matters then sooner than later it'll change again
5. ‎His family attitude: I don't think a man who has forgotten his roots(family) simply because of some misunderstanding is all rest for the next phase. Help him to be a better person.
6. Does he have a forgiving spirit? If not then to be it's not such a good idea.

N:B there's no fast or safe rule to marriage but a little insight is necessary ‎
