Manchester United have now suffered their worst start to a league season since 1986. They have not won away from home in seven months, and have only two clean sheets under Louis van Gaal. They have four fewer points than at this stage last season. They had just two shots on target against City.

Those are just records that won't matter at the end of the season. accepted, van gaal started very slowly but there has been steady improvement in the last 4 matches, particularly the last 2, one thing I am very sure of is that this season will be far better than last season. after the red card yesterday and rojo's injury I thought we are getting another harvest of goals against us

I can say Moyes was not allowed to concentrate and settle. Moyes never had a steady natural CM until January. Our midfielders and defenders were getting injured. In comparison, Gaal's injury problem is less severe than what Moyes faced. Half of Gaal's team can be injured and would still be able to line up a dreaded first 11.

I am not suggesting Moyes is a greater coach or at par with Gal, but there was high level of immaturity every where in frustrating him. Suggest articles like how he rotated his team (they forgot the many injuries), how he did not play Zaha, how he failed to play Anderson, how did not Chicharito, why he played Jones in midfield (even though our CMs were injured and Jones hardly lost games in their absence)

However, I think Moyes would have done far better if he were to lay hands on someone like Blind; a player who tackles and use the ball too. Same with Herrera. Although we will still need a player like Vidal. Let me see where Yaya Toure will pass again.

I Don't really think moyes was sacked because of result alone , but we were also playing some hopeless kind of football without any direction, atleast any Objective mind will see that it is just a matter of time before this present team start dominating epl again, it may not be like the days of fergie but we are getting closer.

If we make the champions league it will be a huge achievement.

One thing I like about van gaal is his preference for young academy players, he is better than fergie in that aspect. The fergie I know would not have played mc nair yesterday, he would have played fletcher or some other senior guys out of position. It is left for the academy boys to seize any opportunity that comes to them.

I still think LVG has a lot to answer in this one he is trying to force all the big names in at the same time, mata , di maria, rooney &rvp with only one midfielder, that is a big error from him.our play changed considerably when another midfielder (anderson) came in. In the next match I Don't expect to see these players in the starting line up whatever formatiin we play;
mata who has been the worst since the Beginning of the season (nothing creative from him) to be replaced by di maria.
Rvp or rooney, my take is Rvp even though many of us are still in denial, he is not the same again, zero contribution so far
I expect to see 2 proper midfielders and not make shift, even fletcher, anderson will do if the attackers can raise their game.
Finally i don't think we have the players to play 3 man defence, there are too much space for our opponent to operate, we have never been this bad. We have lost 7 points from the supposed easy games.

there's so much sense in what you wrote. swansea simply ceded possession & defended with their back against the wall.....when they had the chance to break, they broke real hard & fast and we were caught.

it then suggests more should have been done with the possession we had. the passage of play was too slow & it allowed swansea to reorganise their defence. mata should have done better from the hole, he's clearly better than what he produced this afternoon.

I Don't have any problem with fellaini coming in but I felt fletcher should have been subbed, and the position he played after coming in did not help our play the defence was exposed and we started playing long ball to no one in particular.

This loss is totally LVG's fault, we lost it Immediately he brought in fellaini for herrera, and made him push forward leaving only fletcher in the middle, everyone started pumping the ball upward hoping that fellaini can connect. It is not all bad, atleast we get to know that nani is finally finished and that we have a weak midfield.

True he is not mobile, but so is carrick and carrick has been one of our best for many years even with his slow motion. Plus Fellaini is comfortable on the ball than carrick and he is more combative, he only needs to check his tackling.

I think Fellaini was good yesterday, he took control of the midfield when he came in, and as I have always believed he will come good for us as a defensive midfielder he only need to check his tackling.

There's no denying his talent. All he needed was a little bit mentoring before being considered irredeemable.
Fergie cast him off at the slightest opportunity in my view. He wasn't given a chance to play for the senior side.\ and that was rather unfair given his performances with the youth squad.

I Don't think he was casted off easily by fergie, I learnt fergie personally sat him down and tried to talk sense into him, the team even surported him during his court cases. I think the guy is just irredeemable.
