coogar:

what outrageous stats?
van persie was infinitely better than rooney in the hole. his 77% pass accuracy is better than rooney who had clocked 62% pass accuracy most times this season.

van persie created 3 chances(open play). his long raking pass to chicharito was the pass of the week. on another day, hernandez should be burying that. mention one league match rooney has done better.

and we are talking of a very unfit van persie moyes didn't want to play for more than 60 minutes but was forced to play 90 mins. abeg, van persie is loads better in the hole than rooney.

What has Rooney done in the hole to make him better than RvP there? Abeg make una no dey yan dust! We've all seen the best of Rooney in the hole, & this is not even making any case for van Persie

You are joking right? The newcastle game was enough to answer your question. Rooney might not be good when compare to other top players in the hole, but he is definately better than rvp. Check out thees outrageous stats, if united post anything like that with rooney in the hole, heaven would have come down

. RVP had zero shot on target. RVP zero shot off target.
Chicharito managed only 11 touches in the first half.
Manchester United were the only Premier League side to make fewer than 100 passes in the attacking third this weekend.

I think everything started going bad after that unfortunate double substitution, I am yet to fully understand the reason for those changes as Rafael was attacking and defending well , as bad as kagawa was yesterday we were still playing and creating good chances. What I was expecting was for giggs to be substituted for another mobile midfielder as everton are getting past him to easily. The most disappointing players were nani and vidic.

Can anybody tell why anderson is frozen out of the team? Our very obvious problem is the midfield and I expect the coach to be trying out every available options and not freezing any midfielder out, atleast at least anderson has impressed in the past and who knows he might just click.

[quote author=coogar]

so if jones has just 0.1 points more than cleverley according to optastats then phil jones didn't achieve much despite providing the cross that led to the first goal...you either praise the 2 of them or criticise the 2 of them.

now compare how cleverley has been demonised & how jones was overhyped by the silverback ape crew then you would know some people have an agenda for some certain players here. [/quote

Maybe cleverley has been harshly criticized, but I expected more from cleverley considering that he is a natural midfielder and he was suppossed to be the one driving us forward which he failed to do and jones seemed to do his own duty of covering the defence better.
On another note, check out the pass combination for yesterday match. Look out for jones and cleverley and you will see that we are in deep shit.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by n0m0705(m): 8:57am On Dec 02, 2013
@ larride&oghos1, the idea of a striker not droping too deep is for a team with proper/good midfielders, but this man utd with a well documented midfield problems and I don't think we cope without our attacker dropping back to help the toothless midfield, that is why our coaches (from latter year of saf to moyes)cannot afford to bench valencia, and welbeck will still be getting game time, cos they always drop back to help.
Jones is a defender and I always curse saf anytime he played him in the midfield but this season's events have shown that he is a better opption than cleverley &fellaini for now, though I think fellaini will still come good with time. He has given us a bit of stability in the midfield, I saw cleverley-fellaini patnership last week in cardiff and I am not praying to see such from from united again.
Moyes should try out anderson, he has only played twice

larride: ^^^^^ I'd rather have this line-up against Everton

De-Gea
Rafael. Evans. Vidic. Evra
Anderson. Fellaini
Nani. Rooney. Young/Januza
Van Persie

If Van Persie is not fit enough for the game, move Rooney to the top 9 position with strict instruction not to drop too deep and play Kagawa in the hole or rather play Chicarito as the top striker if Van Persie is not fit. No sensible manager will play Welbeck ahead of Hernandez as the top striker.
Where do you guys get this one sided opinion from? Rooney should not drop too deep and be waiting for passes from who? Did you people even watched united matches this season? And if he did that and ended up being isolated through out the match you all will still be calling for his head
As for jones, I do not know how he was responsible for the first goal, and even if he was, how can that singular event over shadow his decent contribution in that match? He may not be the best in the league , but presently he is the best we have. we were not outplayed in the middle, we had more possession, more pass completion%, we actually outpassed spurs which I never thought will happened before the match. The only area of the field we suffered yesterday was the attack/creativity dept and I don't see what that has got to do with jones.

Moyes has got to be the worst thing to happen to man utd, he is just tactically deficient, it is not coincidence that everton started playing one of the best football in the league after his exit. Incredible Ron! Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2013 In Numbers

The race for Ballon D’or is in full swing and Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be leading the race. If you are wondering why; here are Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing stats for the 2013 calendar year.

66 Ronaldo has scored an incredible 66 goals for club and country in 2013. That includes 56 goals in 46 games for Real Madrid and 10 in nine for Portugal

8 The 28-year-old is the TOP SCORER in the Champions League this season with eight goals, one ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and two ahead of Lionel Messi.

1.20 Goals per game ratio for Ronaldo in 2013. And it gets better if you only look at this season. He has 31 goals in 21 appearances in 2013-14. That’s 1.48 goals per game.

16 The Portuguese is also the TOP SCORER in La Liga this season with 16 goals in 13 matches. He already has TWICE as many as Messi.

47 Ronaldo EQUALLED Pauleta’s national record of 47 goals for Portugal. The forward is closing in on Bobby Charlton and Thierry Henry’s records, but has a way to go before he catches Gerd Muller (68) and Pele (77).

5 Ronaldo has OUTSCORED the Premier League’s five biggest clubs in 2013. Liverpool (61), Man City (56), Arsenal (55), Man United (54) and Chelsea (54) have all scored fewer league goals this year than Ronaldo has scored in all competitions.

225 Since joining Real Madrid, Ronaldo has scored 225 goals in 216 games for the club. In just five years he has already become Madrid’s FIFTH HIGHEST SCORER and is closing in on Ferenc Puskas (242) in fourth.

RVP had only one good season. He refused to renew and Arsene couldn't find a good buyer. Juve failed in a £8 million pound bid not 12. If RVP had renewed and played another season, Arsene woupd have gotten a better deal after the trouble raising RVP.

Well, the point is Man Utd fans can tolerate their star player in another club, if the club is not a rival like CR7 to Real Madrid. Arsenal fans can't tolerate RVP because was is sold to a rival club.
My position is that if you guys cannot tolerate your player(important one for that matter ) going to a rival club, you shouldn't have sold for any amount on the first place. Take the gabriel heinze saga for example, fergie could not tolerate an important player going to a rival club like liverpool even though they brought an enticing bid, he refused to sell despite protest from heinze himself until madrid came in with a much lesser bid than liverpool's. So the only reason why wenger sold rvp to united was because of the large sum involved and you lot should be man enough to face the consequence.

He refused to renew his contract after all the club went through for him. So Arsenal were force to sell it.

Finally, this about why Arsenal fans are not happy he went compared to Man Utd fans being okay with CR7.
But there was a £12million bid from juventus too, if you guys are so worried about him playing for a rival club you should have accepted that. oh wait, your stingy coach decided to go for the bigger money. Deal with it, you have £23million in the bank for your heartache.

i still find it baffling giggs start games ahead of anderson, fellaini, etc. it's just wrong playing giggs in the midfield. he puts the [b]u[/u] in useless!
As much as I want to agree with you about giggs, the form of the other options is nothing to write home about. Maybe pa giggs can give us a better performance today. It is almost the same squad as the one that played liverpool in capital one cup and that was one of our best performance this season.

I wish he had been sold.
But I hope elampiro and that blunted Jamaica wanna-be ganja man BinghiNya are content with their selfish idol who wants the spotlight to be all about him.
Jealous little bitch cannot stand the fact that van Persie is head and shoulders above him.
I blame ball-less Moyes.
What has rooney got to do with how poor we have been playing? I think you all are just obsessed with him and trying to make him the scapegoat, but any reasonable and unbias observer will know that it is beyond rooney, van persie has been poorer than rooney this season and i have not seen anyone condemn him, even for once. Even when they both switch position, it is rooney that get the stick for lack of creativity.
We are on a looong thing with moyes, I have always thought he will come good with time but with what I saw yesterday, the guy is too average to manage a side like united and he is going to drag us down the liverpool style if something is not done quickly, how can we have creative players sitting on the bench and we are strugling, the changes were so bad yesterday, we had that match in our hand and we could have scored the second before those changes, even though we were not too impressive. There is nothing moyes can do to impress me again, why freezing out some good players? Kagawa, zaha and chicharito on my mind. #moyesout#
