Since Friday I and the two other guys left the work.and still planning on what to do on him.

Republican lawmakers have floated former President Donald Trump as a potential candidate for House Speaker even as he faces the third day of his fraud trial in New York City.

Congressional Republicans are foundering after Rep. Kevin McCarthy's, R-Calif., ouster on Tuesday. The drama coincides with Trump's own trial in Manhattan, and multiple House Republicans have vowed to nominate him for the speakership.

Texas Rep. Troy Nehls said in a statement Tuesday afternoon his first order of business when the House reconvenes "will be to nominate Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives."

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., followed suit in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday evening: "@realDonaldTrump for Speaker."

The next speaker does not technically have to be a current sitting member of the House, but every speaker in U.S. history has been.
