My dear, I'm thankful we had option that year O , because to go from Kiddrica to EmmaRose would have been tragic stuff.

I know some people will enjoy any ship as long as it is a man and woman involved, but if you cannot inspire me to write steamy love scenes, why am I watching you?
You enjoyed Nini and Saga that year? 😂

That thing was one of the worst things to happen to Reality TV for me. There was more chemistry between a cardboard paper and a scissors.

Emmanuel had more chemistry with WhiteMoney than Liquor, and everyday that nigga dragged Liquor through that fake ship, I swore for him for blocking Cross.

See small vape announcement that Cross and Liquorose did, chemistry choke, which forced me to conclude that it was Emmanuel that had dead energy.

Another ship I absolutely hated was that Ozone rubbish, for similar reasons as EmmaRose, but even worse because Nene was really using my Ozo to promote her fake good girl image, when she's really anything but.

EmmaRose was easily the worst thing to happen to my BBScreen, but Ozone is not far.
I dislike Emmanuel. I think he is dumber than Cross but his stupidity is masked by his calm demeanor. There's nothing strange about Liquorose's relationship with Emma. It's a replica of the average romantic relationship where the more influential lady loves the less influential guy more.

Ozone was a viewer's ship 😂 It was purely a fantasy. But of course, I too hoped it worked out.

Married RETIRED civil servant..... I feel there should be this uncontrollable passion at the beginning of every relationship. If I find you sexually attractive, there's no way I would be able to stand close to you without having an erection except we've had sex a few times. My hands will always be in my pockets to hide my hard-on
It's vice versa for me. I can only show public affection to a woman I've really been intimate with and gone deeper with. If we're just started, it will be more like a formal business negotiation where I really respect boundaries in public.

May not even hug the lady yet I truly adore her.

Yeah, I really did. Their dinner was the climax. The most memorable part of that season for me.

I hate the fact that Emmanuel didn't reciprocate Liquorose's affection.

Yeah.

Males are attracted to innocence and naivety. If a girl approaches a guy, the guy will think she's "tear eye" 😂

Also, if she gives in easily to him, he'll assume that she fell easily for others before him too and would fall easily for another while with him. 😂

As a lady, let him toil and suffer before he reaps.

Guys might actually like the idea of being approached. They can actually encourage it even. But what I see is that it's rather an ego boost for them, more than anything else.. They like the idea of being wanted and desired. But I doubt their hunting instincts will ever truly be satisfied by that. They'll rather do the chasing than by chased. So if a girl likes a guy, she should never go full on. They may just chop and japa
I agree.

You're not cis female. You're so conscious of "your femininity" and show subtle signs to categorically prove it in most of your posts.

My conviction is that if you're truly female, then you're a transgender. I'm not transphobic but I think it's only transgender females that consistently remind people of how feminine they are.

Btw, I'll identify you by your pronouns.

Shy after greenlight = not interested. The girl should keep it moving.
These days guys cannot draw a distinction between the greenlight and a setup, so they still need certainty to compel their move.

I also think that asking someone "will you be my girlfriend?" is outdated. The best strategy is to get into the person's life by doing what couples do if they permit, and thereafter defining the relationship at the verge of intimacy.

You're the one wailing over my facts grin

As a matter of fact, I was the first to call it out while saying Baye would betray Doyin and she did. grin

In fact, I don't support anyone on the show because of victim card bullshit. I have never done such.

My support to anyone on the show always gravitate when I feel there's an unjust, mixed with hypocrisy and Lawd help me if the person is hot too, like the case of Yemi grin

Imagine a provocative someone who can't take same when same energy is returned after her provocation. That's hypocrisy! Or someone who went to someone else's bed despite the person informing her that he wanted nothing serious and didn't even ask her out, only for her to start playing the victim and blackmailing him despite the fact that her hypocritical self was also flirting with toddler. So Yes, I don't support such victim card bullshit.

I think I was the first to even say Tolanibaj overreacted until I realized that Tbaj wasn't the type to insult anyone in lockdown except anyone provoked her like the case of Katrina. That was until I heard about the true incidence from both Neo and Tbaj, aside the fact that I actually heard Baye calling Tbaj a bitch on my second look at it. Then, I realised that I could have done worse if I were in Tbaj's shoes. Imagine jumping into a person's bed unsolicited to cut off someone's conversation while dragging the duvet to cover the person and then calling the other person at the other end of the conversation a bitch? I would have done worse, coupled with the fact that the same sneaky Baye nominated Tbaj unwarranted despite forming alliance with her.

Then I remembered same Baye's attitude in level up. Baye was Beauty's close friend who would always agreed with Beauty that Groovy was wrong yet at the same time flirted with the same Groovy. I had no problem with her flirting or anyone flirting at all, even with Beauty's ship mate (Groovy), regardless of the friendship between her and Beauty but why tell Beauty that Groovy was wrong yet at the same time flirted with him? Does it make sense? Instead, she should have simply told Beauty that she was overreacting rather than agreed with Beauty yet at the same time, flirted with the same Groovy.

Anyway, I kinda overlooked it all because like I always say, I have no problem with anyone flirting but when Beauty went crazy over Groovy, Baye was more or less asking Beauty to rest and at first, I had no problem with her asking Beauty to rest because if Beauty had rested, there was probability that she wouldn't have been disqualified. But on my second look at it, this was Baye who had been feeding Beauty with all those stuff thus when what she had been feeding Beauty snowballed, she was rather asking Beauty to rest. How would Beauty comprehend that? As a matter of fact, Beauty would have expected Baye to be on her side at that moment, not against her. No wonder Baye bragged to all stars housemates about how she led Beauty into her disqualification. She definitely knew what she was doing. An instigator!

Then her other provocations to Bryan who gave her the same negative energy and insulted the hell out of her cheesy She did same to Modella etc.

So I definitely remembered everything she did in level up. Provocative and sneaky. Her level up housemates didn't tolerate her shit. So why would all stars housemates tolerate same shit? So what's new now? Except adding "is it because I'm yang" to play the victim?

She went to harass Kidd in his bed till Kidd had to leave his bed for her to leave, then she lied about the whole situation to Doyin. I called it first that she would betray Doyin who's been defending her entitled rude ass and she did betray Doyin. Then her other provocations such as provoking Angel, Ceec etc. She's had problem with almost everyone on the show, aside her two faced attitude.

As for Tolanibaj, while I didn't support her in lockdown but I did notice her, however I felt she had the short end of the stick at the reunion. Because why all the wailing at the reunion over Tolanibaj saying she liked Neo after she was told that Neo liked her? Of course Tbaj rose up to the task at the reunion and gave it hot to everyone despite the gang up.

Meanwhile, I knew Vee wouldn't have got that mouth to yap if not for those supporting her at the reunion. As a matter of fact, Vee did no confrontation in lockdown. She was only known for plotting behind others and even betrayed her close friend, Lilo. Even the Laycon, Vee only got close to him at the latter stage, when she realized he could be strong and as a matter of fact, she threw Laycon and Ozo under the bus in the last eviction before the finale. She threw everyone under the bus yet was wailing because Tbaj replied with "I like you" in reciprocative gesture to Neo liking her? Does that make sense? I see nothing wrong in what Tbaj did till now. Even Prince dated Dora and I see nothing wrong in it. Anyone can do whatever they like. Let alone, anyone wailing because someone said she liked the other in reciprocative gesture.

On all stars show, Tolanibaj can do whatever she likes, I don't see the reason why some clowns are wailing. In fact, she's the least problematic housemate on the show. I don't see why some hypocritical idiotic clowns are grunting like pigs when there are worse housemates on the show.
Type-a-thon 😂

Accent is different from badly pronounced words. I say /shef/ instead of /chef/, /dayta/ instead of /data/, /groceries/ in place of provision and so on. But my Nigerian accent is there.

I don't speak 'sprai, sprai'.
What's "Sprai, Sprai"? 😂

The core of my argument is that you don't necessarily need to have a foreign accent before Nigerians criticize you.

Many Nigerians criticize well spoken English and accuse the Nigerian speakers of faking an accent when in reality the speakers are just taking time to ensure that they pronounce each and every word of their sentences correctly while stressing appropriate syllables.

When a fast speaker like myself does that, a backlash usually accompanies my speech.

I think this would be dependent on where you are. For instance, while I was in a missionary school, I spoke like that and we didn't have any issues, however, when I moved to a government secondary school, they made it seem like my speech was advanced.

So, it is just dependent on your audience. Regardless, it is all still Nigerian accents albeit different levels.

I do not exert any conscious effort to speak like that. I just naturally speak like that because that is how I know to speak.

But even within that "conscious effort" you speak of, it is still a Nigerian accent, because it is only Nigerians that speak like that. You will not hear Ghanaians or Kenyans or South Africans or Brits or Americans speak like that.

It is a Nigerian accent. That's the entire point
If you speak like Genevieve did, many Nigerians would think that you do not speak Nigerian enough.

Personal experience.

Shef, shampagne, machet(e) ... are not said that way by most Nigerians.

Yes, it qualifies. Or where do you think she learnt to speak like that? Ghana?

Even me, this is how I speak, my sister speaks similarly too, and I know a good number of people that speak like that. Where do you think they learnt to speak so? From another country? No be this same Nigeria wey all of us dey?

Is that not how Adekunle, Beauty, CeeC also speak? No be this same Nigeria all of them learn am? If you leave Nigeria and you speak with that accent, you think they will confuse you as a Gambian?
Lol. That's not how the average Nigerian speaks even in Lagos. Genevieve, you, your sister and I exert a conscious effort to get our pronunciations, stress and intonation correctly. That's the only Accent that comes out of Nigeria that is pleasing to one's ears 😂

For instance, "Film" was one of the words she used frequently. That's not how 90% of Nigerians say "Film". The middle consonant is virtually invisible to most Nigerians who say that word.

You should watch it then.

And no, it is not just Lagos accent because I spent 15 years in Abuja and encountered the same accent. I have met people from PH and Owerri with the same accent, so, it is not just a Lagos accent.

If the Nigerian accents you know are embarrassing, well, my condolences to you. You have chosen the accent you prefer to tag as Nigerian accent (which is just the accents of different ethnic groups).

There is a central Nigerian accent, just as there is such a thing as central Igbo, despite most Igbo communities having their own different dialects. The thing you call Lagos accent is the central Nigerian accent, every other one is just ethnic accents.
Listen to my queen, Genevieve, speak here 👇. Does that qualify as the Nigerian accent because I speak almost that way except that I talk really fast?

There is actually a Nigerian accent.

The tribal accents are what they are- tribal accents. There is a cosmopolitan Nigerian accent, usually found among people who grow up in cosmopolitan cities like Lagos, Abuja and the likes, cities where there is a heavy mixture of ethnic groups, so, there is no way to actually take up an ethnic accent.

Genevieve Nnaji, Dakore, Ramsey, Jim Iyke, Mike Ezeuronye, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nancy Isime, these people have the everyday Nigerian accent. There is no ethnic infusion to it.

You have identified an urban elite accent as a Nigerian accent, yet, you insist that the accent does not exist. You contradict yourself.

If you can admit that there exists an accent for people in certain regions and states, then, you can also add the urban accents as a Nigerian accent.

I remember watching Black Panther and when we were listening for a Nigerian accent, M'baku was the closest to it. So, there is a Nigerian accent and all Nigerians recognise it when we hear it, and it is not tied to any one ethnic group
I will not write a traverse to defend your claim that I contradicted myself as I have noticed my contradiction. I couldn't perfectly buttress my understanding and it's the source of my contradiction which I do not deny.

Back to the matter 😂

I watched Nancy Isime for years as the anchor of "Trending" on Hip TV. Her accent then was exotic. I haven't watched her movies apart from Living in Bondage that I barely heard her.

I haven't watched Black Panther but I know that Black Americans have never sounded like Nigerians even though they get the roles.

That accent you call beautiful Nigerian accent is just Lagos accent and I can't speak it because I have never lived in Lagos. People who didn't grow up in Lagos/ AMAC still force themselves to speak that way. The Nigerian "accents" I know are embarrassing 😂.

So, you'll listen to Nse-Ikpe Etim, Ramsey Nouah, Kalu Ikeagwu and hate this our sweet accent?

Na people wey dey talk like who get hot yam for mouth dey sweet you. Rate yourself o, no make low self esteem wound you.
There's nothing like a "Nigerian Accent".

There are only tribal accents in this country.

If Nse Ikpe Etim actually speaks with her Akwa Ibom English accent, she would only get comedy and house girl roles- Facts.

If Ramsey Noah used Yoruba English accent, he'd be a clown. Listen to Falz when he raps a satire. That's how Noah would sound. He'd get trouble maker roles and not lover boy roles.

Buhari speaks the typical Northern Nigerian Accent. I couldn't comprehend a Presidential Broadcast for 8 straight years.

Men who have lived the bulk of their lives in Zamfara, Anambra, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Ibadan do not speak the same way. BBN won't even select them as Housemates.

A 10 year old that was born in Victoria Island and has never left there is a natural speaker of what you term beautiful Nigerian accent.

What is usually described as the beautiful Nigerian Accent is more of an educated urban elite accent where individual words are pronounced properly like they're transcribed in the dictionary. A good speaker of the accent stresses the syllables of the words properly and gives the appropriate intonation to words while completing a sentence.

That's what is termed "beautiful Nigerian Accent" . Chimamanda speaks that way. It doesn't make the accent any less fake 😂. The speakers are still very conscious to not let their mother tongue interfere. The interference of one's mother tongue in a second language is what gives the second language an accent of the original.

There's no language called "Nigeria". Any uniform Nigerian accent is fake.
