Sadly, the mechanics you are claiming to defend are way smarter than you. Not even a n illiterate will reason the way you are reasoning. Compare your country's GDP to ordinary South Africa here but you want to be paying Canada MW.

Which polytechnic or University did you attend again? Your response will help some of us decide which tertiary institution our kids should never attend because they are obviously churning out entitled dullards.
Oh, now your country's GDP isn't comparable to that of South Africa? A governor embezzled funds and paid N1 billion in school fees for his kids upfront, and you didn't have a problem with that. Your senators, aside from receiving upward salary reviews in millions, allocate billions to themselves in humongous constituency allowances and projects, Newnig had no issues with that. But when poor workers demanded a wage to take them home at the end of the month, that's when you remembered your country is poor and workers should be considerate. Can't you see that I wasn't wrong to say a slave so in love with his chains is irredeemably gone?

I won't come down to your level. I would have still schooled you further but your head won't be able to comprehend it. Keep waiting for 615k MW, you hear? cheesy

You will tell us if you are better than the mechanic with 5 children who still manages to send them to school despite not having a fixed income monthly. Na your type dey still go office dey go gist and never productive. You can't even convince me you are a productive civil servant because you don't sound intelligent at all (not an insult, merely stating the obvious), you are just part of the federal character quota that must fill up the slots to be complete. angry

I will have to sound a bit vulgar cos that's the only language you seem to understand.........when you were climbing your wife and producing babies like rabbits, did you consider your economic situation? You can help labour and carry placard tomorrow oo, Mr. Activist!
If you think what I said is just about me, and not for the likes of the mechanic you mentioned, then you are far too irredeemably gone in your fóólishnes.

To slap you just dey hungry me. angry Resorting to insults during civil conversation is an obvious sign of dullness or mental illness. Get yourself checked.

And yes, FG will never pay even 250k as minimum wage "now". While I support that the allowances and emoluments of senators and house of reps members should be cut down to reduce cost of governance, how can you compare the wage bill of 109 senators and 360 Rep members to almost, if not over 1 million workers under the employ of the Federal Government.

Keep pretending as if you are unaware that even if by any stroke of luck, the FG agrees to that amount, the State Governors will never agree nor comply. Are you also aware that the Federal Workers are not the only crop of workers in the country? You expect Dufil Prima to pay their cleaners N615k monthly and still want to buy indomie carton at N5000. 🤡
You want Nigeria Bottling Company to pay its driver (which by the way should earn above MW) N615K and expect to buy a bottle of coke at N300. 🤡🤡

When what is common on this faceless forum is everyone cussing at and insulting the President at any given instance, when infact, your governors have been collecting x3 of their monthly FAAC allocations since last year with nothing to show for it. Pretend like you are not living in a country where a Governor paid half salaries to workers for years but paid upfront tuition fees of his children in an international school till 2035. If you don't understand the implication of that, I don't know how else to explain to you.

Are you aware that with every wage increase comes corresponding inflation? Considering how wicked Nigerian entrepreneurs and traders are, how will you explain to the market woman that she can't increase the price of her goods when she is fully aware that FG has increased minimum wage. You think the artisans don't like or deserve a better life too? How will they get it? By billing you the newest big boys in town. grin That's how economics work.

Finally, for a country with the lowest VAT collection in Africa, fighting daily oil theft, smuggling, endemic corruption in both government and civil service, where will the monies to pay over 1m workers come from? Don't forget 615k is for the lowest worker, what will be the consequential adjustment for other levels especially the senior cadres? The 615k MW will not eradicate corruption, so how much do you think ordinary civil service job slots will now be sold for? As I type, Abia, Zamfara and Taraba states are yet to comply with the N30,000 MW of 2019. Imo State refused to implement the consequential adjustment for Levels 08-17 since 2019. Labour is insisting that every organisation with more than 5 workers must pay the minimum wage. So you expect the local bakery at the back of your house to pay 615k too and still sell bread at 500? grin grin

Some of us are very pragmatic and objective, not living in utopia like others. Do we wish to have 615k MW? Yes, nobody has died of too much earnings. Is it realistic? No, not with the current economic realities and crop of leaders at "all levels of government". The only way that may be possible is to adopt several MW as is obtainable in Canada and other Western countries where each provinces/state have their MW and the FG has its own. If you are working in Zamfara and not satisfied with the wages, you can simply migrate to Lagos for greener pastures, also bearing in mind that although Lagos may have a higher MW, the cost of living in Lagos is way higher than in Zamfara. Then everyone can be lobbying for Federal jobs as the ultimate.

You have made me type too much this morning, and it won't be free. I'll DM you my invoice and I won't accept anything less than 615k angry

Another improvised slave is here to create excuses for his slave masters. Pathetic!!!

Apologies pls. No be you I wan quote sef. Na the guy hoping for a 100k I wan reply. Those of us with families, mouths to feed, school fees and medical bills to settle, fuel to purchase for school runs (I bought 20ltrs for 20k yesterday), etc, know how difficult it is out there. I see no reason why a fellow struggling person would choose to side with our oppressors who embezzle billions monthly. Even if the government won't agree to pay a living wage, I don't expect a Nigerian to gloat, support, and advocate for the same government. I detest when a slave openly praises their slave masters.

My sincere apologies to whoever my earlier response offended.

... I thought as much.. Asiwaju promised a living wage, meaning it will be huge.

150k is not too much for Federal Government to pay but some states won't survive it...
I wouldn't want to call you stupid just for the rules of engagement here, but, sir, you are a slave who's in love with his chains. While NLC is seeking for N615,000 monthly wage, your senators earn N700,000 daily. You didn't see that of senators as what government would not be able to pay but it's the one you fellow poor masses would earn is the one you chose to speak for the government about.

Federal Government proposes new minimum wage of between N150,000 - N200,000;
• as Labour insiss on N615,000 as new minimum wage
• governors kick, propose new minimum wage of between N60,000 - N85,000

No conclusion yet..... On the new minimum wage
This your post would just anger the proponents of 60k minimum wage on this thread. Cos it's obvious their aim and prayers is to not see mainstream civil servants earning close to what they earn in their stand-alone agencies. Hassada!!!

Don't mind the slaves. They love their chains. It is not unrealistic for senators to get paid N80m monthly accompanied by official SUVs of N615m each. But it is unrealistic for them to get N500k monthly. SMH

The unrealistic amount of 615000 as minimum wage demanded by TUC and NLC will really cause allot of delay for the federal govt to decide. I'm sure that federal govt cannot go more than 100 to 150k

Nairaland / General / My Frustrating Experience With Piggyvest Today by Nadingo: 7:35pm On Apr 29
Earlier today, I had a frustrating ordeal with Piggyvest that has left me questioning the integrity of the platform. I tried to withdraw N70,600 from my Piggy Flex account, which had just matured from a 3month Safelock agreement. With an urgent need to pay my son's school fees, I expected a smooth transaction. However, that wasn't the case.

To my dismay, I encountered an error message when attempting to withdraw to my PocketApp. Undeterred, I tried again, this time opting to withdraw to my Fidelity Bank account. But to my surprise, I was informed that I had already initiated a withdrawal and needed to wait 24 hours before trying again. Frustrated, I reached out to Piggyvest's customer support on Twitter for assistance.

After several exchanges, a representative advised me to update my KYC details. Hoping this would resolve the issue, I promptly tried to do that but was informed my details are up-to-date. I sent them a message to tell them my KYC is up-to-date and after series of back and forth, I was advised to transfer my funds to Piggybank wallet for withdrawal. Little did I know, this would only compound my troubles.

Upon transferring the funds to Piggybank wallet, I was shocked to discover that the next withdrawal date I was given wasn't until December 2024. That if I want to make an instant withdrawal, I would have to forfeit 2.5% of the money. Realizing I had no other option, I reluctantly agreed to forfeit 2.5% of my funds for the immediate withdrawal. But even this proved futile, as I encountered yet another error message during the process. Surprisingly, they have deducted 2.5% of my money.

Angry and confused, I called Piggyvest's customer care line seeking answers. However, instead of assistance, I was met with a dismissive attitude. According to the representative, I was to blame for choosing to use the Piggybank wallet instead of Piggyflex and I should accept the consequences. That they would return my 2.5% when they would, and I should wait another 24hrs before I should restart the withdrawal process (to forfeit yet another 2.5% again).

This entire experience has left me feeling betrayed and cheated. I trusted Piggyvest with my hard-earned money, only to be met with obstacles and indifference when I needed both my money and their assistance.

Just curious, would you waybill the full cow to the guys location?

I am just wondering how that would have worked since you are located in Bauchi (trust issue aside).
Yes, small scale suppliers here pay trailers ferrying cattle to intended locations to deliver. Those trailers you see no be sey na one man's cattle them dey carry always. That's why you see some cows marked with paint or markers to identify who has them. But this model works best between steady suppliers and retailers.

If this malu was in Lagos, it would sell nothing less than 650k

Well one have to factor in cost of transporting them from north to south
It wouldn't sell above N350k here in rural markets of Soro, Gamawa or Liman Katagum of Bauchi State.
