It's pretty annoying tbh. Also, I think there is a special hack they use to bypass these rules.

What is your take on the actions of Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram insurgency that is tactically supported by the North?

@Op, your complain is noted.

Even Seun has ran away from nairaland because the place is toxic and not good for human health. Only reason he check here once in a while is because of his money, just to see how many advert are here Incase the mod decide to cheat him.

If you want Seun to see your complain, put it on X, he is more active on X than nairaland. Nairaland is a place for tribal banter.

He will never say anything on this thread, not because he chose to do so, because he is not always here.

How I wish someone can come and buy this forum from Seun, after that, the person will close it down.

Nairaland name should be change to Tribaland.
I spend most of my time on X these days. I just decided to say something today. On X, you can't get away with half of what people are posting here. People will track you and you will lose your job and reputation within hours once you go viral. You should check the handle @stop zionist hate on X. A lot of notable people have been destroyed there for the same thing cowardly nairalanders without identity are posting here.

A most recent example is the former US advisor Stuart Seldowitz who was recorded harassing a halal food court owner. After going viral, Seldowitz has been dropped from his place of employment and he has been arrested. The food court guy is now a local celebrity and many new yorkers are going to his place to purchase food.

There are several children of hate and anger here who are sad, bitter, miserable, depressed, and suicidal, and we are not going to watch them go berserk, we will give them fire for fire
This attitude of yours will only make it difficult to have any meaningful discussion. People only attack one another ad hominem here and at the end of the day, no one learns.

Firstly, do take note that I am not a guy. Secondly, I will reiterate that having a take on an international political issue is different from taking a religious stance.

You're just mad because those threads give the Christians the opportunity to unite and pummel the terrorists and their sympathisers. Where was this anger of yours when the Igbos are being insulted? I guess it was okay by you.

Hypocrite, you who posted a picture of some people stepping on the Israeli flag is calling other people extremists? Terrorist sympathiser.
Dude, I am definitely not dueling with you based on any religious belief whatsoever. My take on a political issue is different from what my post is about. I am not sentimental when it comes to religion.

The country has pumped anger to almost everyone and some of these comments you are reporting about is as a direct consequence...!!

While nobody advocate for violence, you should understand that in here, we all sharing same platform with The good, The bad, and The very ugly kind of individuals...!!

This thing you are complaining of won't stop as long as we have different mix of individuals here...some think straight while other think abnormal...!!

Seun is trying but unfortunately Nairaland is a little Nigerian ..!! The day the nonsense going on in Nigeria stop, is the day what you are complaining about would stop here...!!

While you think you want to maintain order, others don't want that..!!

And finally I would advice you look for a metal helmet to wear because many would with stones for you cos of your post...!!

Dear Seun,

The Israeli-Palestine conflict which is currently ongoing has seen a surge in the amount of reckless and violent hate speech on the front page threads on nairaland. It is disgusting, vile and diabolic.

I remember the previous presidential election which held this year, when you had to create a thread here titled, "A total ban on the use of ethnic slurs" dated March 28, 2023.

In your own words, you wrote, "This practice of derogatory name-calling adds no value to the forum. It's bad for our mental health, our harmony as a community, and the reputation of Nairaland. It's simply toxic. Its presence and the presence of the people who use those slurs will not be missed."

Rule 2 of nairaland clearly states:

"Don't abuse, bully, deliberately insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to Nairaland members OR THEIR TRIBES."

Also, rule 3 of nairaland states succinctly:

"Don't threaten, support or DEFEND violent acts against any person, tribe, race, animals, or group (e.g. rape).

Why is it that handles here keep on breaking these rules and are left unchecked?

I have been on nairaland for a while now and I must acknowledge the fact that this platform has been a great source of learning for me. It saddens me how this website have degraded to what it is now.

The rabid and vile utterances left unchecked on the front page section and several threads in the politics section keeps on devaluing what nairaland stands for.

We have members not willing to engage with anyone because of fear of being vilely attacked and cyber bullied, another problem left unchecked on nairaland.

I want to appeal with you to have a meeting with your mods and ensure a cleanse of hate speech, violent utterances and cyber bullying on nairaland.

Thank you.
Signed,
A concerned nairalander.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by nahr(f): 2:19pm On Nov 23, 2023
I have been choosing not to comment on this ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict here on Nairaland but silence means acceptance and I strongly stand against the state of Israel and its atrocities.

I want to commend WriterNg for keeping this thread running, this is like the only place where you can find sane people to discuss the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict with.

It is very sickening, the kind of propaganda and one sided news that Seun and his mods are putting on the front page. No credible news which people can learn from makes front page.

Over this past month, there are significant news worthy of front page which can enlighten people on the issue on ground. Instead, all you see on the front page news regarding this conflict is biased MSM regurgitated news with genocidal maniacs flooding the comment section.

This same thing happened during the early phase of the Russia-Ukraine war when fake news was pushed to the front page to sway public opinion. This went on for a while until people began to call Seun and his mods out.

I am just glad that we have this thread, at least anyone that wants to learn and is not an abhorrent and horrible human being can see for him or herself who is really the bad guy.

I will try to hop in once in a while to contribute to this thread and also create new topics regarding the ongoing conflict to enlighten people whose eyes and minds are not blind yet.

This is presently affecting my faculty. There is a significant shortage of lecturers and we have one lecturer teaching like three courses. A number of them have left for the UK.

"BlackKKlansman." It's such a crazy movie. Like crazy in a fun way and Denzel Washington's son can really act. I love Adam Driver in this too. It's hard to think he is the same man that acted as Maurizio Gucci in "House of Gucci." I'd give it an eight out of ten.

Palehair:
The original was on YouTube some years back along with "Gone with the wind". It's obviously been taken down due to copyright reasons

As much as I appreciate Speilberg adding more stripes to his road because this isn't his lane but this fell flat to me,I just feel like it had no soul and this is from someone who watched it three times just to feel something and this is not to take a huge crap on the work and sacrifices of the cast and crew after awards were won with Debose even winning best supporting actress at the academy awards, they worked their ass off to deliver especially when you have a competition like "in the heights" filming in the neighborhood but i just felt it was missing something , maybe I'm just protective of the original because of my love for Natalie Wood
Well, you sure are entitled to your opinion. The thing is that people are always sentimental about an original movie and they tend to see a remake as not up to par or rather a shoddy put up. I actually hope to watch the original someday though.
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by nahr(f): 10:11pm On Sep 16, 2023
I also watched "The power of the dog" Benedict Cumberbatch who acted Phil gave a very convincing performance. The movie is also beautifully shot. One thing that sat with me for a very long time after watching this movie is that never let people know your weakness, they are going to use it to destroy you. I'd rate the movie 8/10.

TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by nahr(f): 10:05pm On Sep 16, 2023
I finally watched "Ladybird" today like after so many years. It's a really good coming of age movie and Saoirse Ronan was exceptional. Ladybird is definitely getting 8/10 from me.

TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by nahr(f): 7:05pm On Sep 16, 2023
"I am thinking of ending things" I actually need to rewatch it. it's a surrealist movie and many details is missed during the first watch. It's an adaptation of the novel which bears the same title as the movie. I'd score it 8/10.

TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by nahr(f): 1:02pm On Sep 15, 2023
"The school for good and evil." While the costuming and special effects is excellent, the storyline is really mid. Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron and Michelle Yeoh all starred in the movie. It's quite fun to watch though but I think the movie could have been made shorter, it's unnecessarily long. I'd give it a 6/10.

TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by nahr(f): 12:57pm On Sep 15, 2023
"Westside story" (2021) I saw a clip from the original on YouTube and I was immediately interested in the musical. I can't find the original so I have to make do with the remake. It's an excellent musical and the costuming, setting, acting is topnotch. Ansel Elgot portrayed Tony but I kept on seeing him as Augustus Waters from "The fault in our stars." Overall I'd score it 8/10.

You are the first person on this thread that has anything good to say about this movie. The majorly negative reviews is the reason I haven't downloaded it.
Oh, you should. I am sure you will enjoy it.

"The new boy". It's a drama set in the 1940's during the second world war. Cate Blanchett was phenomenal and the boy who starred as the aboriginal boy was very captivating. The cinematography is topnotch too. I'd score it 7/10.
