Red glowing eyes stared back at me, and I tried to see clearly who it was. Metal claws closed over my forearm tightly, and I whimpered.

Then I noticed he looked like David, the man with the red eye had his height and shape of his head. Then the strange being suddenly turned into my mother inlaw. The fear finally began to set in as my heart pumped.

“Ekomobong!” Her deep voice rumbled and echoed at the same time.

I woke up immediately sitting upright in shock, it was a dream. The bed was soft under me, but the covers were thickly hot. I was sweating through my pyjamas shirt.

I looked at the other bed, Teye was sleeping peacefully wrapped in her pink mickey mouse duvet.

My heart eased a bit, I kept repeating in my head that it was only a nightmare.

“Mummy are you okay?” Mfon asked, her voice was soft and tender, I held her into my arms.
“”yes, I am fine my love.” I said as I pulled her under the sheet and covered her up.

The feeling that overcame me was wondrous and terrifying.

I wanted to stay underneath the sheet, I wanted to sleep through the entire time, but when I checked the time, it was almost 6AM.

I woke up hastily to pray, then made breakfast of fried plantain and eggs for the kids. when I heard the door bell ring my heart skipped, I wasn’t expecting anyone.

I didn’t hear the sound of any car horn or anyone knock at the gate. How did this person pass through the gate?

I tiptoed towards the window to see who it was, I slid the curtain a bit and my heart trembled at the mere sight of people I saw. Should I say they were in thirty, forty or fifty?

I thought they were arm robbers sent by Georgina to come attack me and the kids. I wanted to dial the police, but my instincts wasn’t sure.

Then I saw pastor Jerry, Pastor Ephraim, Akintola and the rest of them whom David mentored.

“What do y’all want?” I asked in a loud Tone, but boldly.

“Good morning maama.” they all greeted in Unison. There was a murmur. Pastor Jerry stood out from the crowd.

“Mamaa please pastor sent us to you.” Jerry said softly.

“I am ready for the divorce now, he doesn’t need to send the whole church to come beg me for a divorce.”
They began to murmur.

“No ma, he is asking for your forgiveness.” They all knelt in unison. But my heart became hardened. I gently closed the curtains and walked back slowly to the kitchen.

“Forgive?” I repeated in a panic whisper, a tear falling down my cheek.

Part 17

Mfon and Teye began to push their boxes to the center of the room, just as I ordered them to do. It was the easiest work their tiny hands could do.

“Mummy why are we packing?” Teye asked.

“The day after tomorrow, we will be leaving for the mainland.” I said, folding the clothes into a basket.

“but mummy our school is on the Island.” Mfon said.

I nodded silently.
“yes I know. no more questions, let’s start packing. you both should gather all your clothes, a truck will be here to start packing.”

They continued to push the drawers and their boxes with all their might.
After few moments, the kids paused.

“mommy we are tired.” Mfon said weakly, giving a childish attitude.

“me too mummy.” Teye said.

“Let’s all rest a bit.”

Teye laughed and blew an exaggerated kiss back.

Mfon and I joined in the laugh, it was a meaningless laugh, Teye made us happy.
My laughter subsided, but a wistful smile was left on my face and then we started singing. And then we had dinner.

That evening, we piled up the corridor with packed properties that we were going to take to our new home at Surulere.

The next morning was hectic.
We woke up tired and stressed, I made breakfast for the kids and drove them quietly to school.

As they alighted from the car, I heard a car door close just by my side, my eyes snapped open.
A masculine scent of a familiar perfume hit me hard on the nose, it was irritating as I felt like puking.
I had a feeling that it must be someone very familiar, but I was afraid to look, I was trying to hide my pregnancy.

“Baby.” He called out huskily.

I didn’t turn, I sat comfortably on my car seat and fastened the seat belt.

“please wait! Ekom I beg you, just listen to me.” suddenly I looked up, our eyes connecting. He was right in front of the car, kneeling down. parents who came to drop their kids stood to watch, passers by stood to watch.

I wanted to run him over. Kill him and bear the consequences.

“Just listen to me baby please.” He lifted his hand waving at me, but I didn’t return the gesture.
“look at me Ekom, just look at me.” He yelled in a baritone voice.”

He looked like he had a lot to say to me. His eyes were red, he was sweating like a full bucket of water was thrown at him.

I was surprise he couldn’t feel the weight of my angry stare, he was still there, not afraid. But I started the car immediately and zoomed off speedily.
I wasn’t sure if he drove after me, but I drove straight to Surulere, where I rented my new house.

Part 18

The kids looked out of the window as we drove into our new compound.

“Our new house is fine mommy.” Teye whispered faintly.

“yes it is.”

I loved that the house was far from the main road. I loved that it was far from all the bright lights and noise, far from anyone who knew David. The estate securities were excitedly sociable.

“Wehcome madam oh….yor shilren are too bitifu.” they said excitedly in different tones as they opened the main

“thank you.” I said calmly.

As we alighted from the car, the sight of our new house was peaceful and fascinating to look at.
The walls were made of brisks. And they were coconut trees flanking on the front yard.

The kids and I began to pack out our boxes and food stuffs from the car.

“mommy, this place is far from school.” Mfon broke the silence.

“You won’t be schooling there anymore. I will register you and your sister at a new school here on the mainland.” I said with a serious face. I didn’t look at their faces.
I knew that they were not happy to leave their former school, but it didn’t matter to me anymore. All I wanted was a private new life.

The next morning, I woke up with a headache, and a light fever.
The air conditioner was on but I felt warm and sticky, I was sweating terribly.
Switching on the bedside lamp I looked at the other bed, the kids were sleeping.

I was about to go back to sleep when my phone buzz under the pillow.

I tried to ignore the call and get some more sleep. A sleepy sigh floating up to the ceiling of the bedroom, but the phone rang again, and when I reluctantly check who the caller was, it turned out to be Lizzy.

“Hello?” I said in low tone.

“Ekom, where have you been?”

” I left the Island last evening.”

” oh God. my nurses said you’ve not been coming to the hospital for your antenatal.”

“Well, I was never comfortable coming to your clinic for antenatal, I never want David or anyone who knows me to see me with my baby bump.” I said girlishly.
Lizzy laughed out so loud over the phone.

“Talking of David. He walked into my office with some bunch of holy bishops yesterday and demanded to see you. I told him that I am not your keeper. but he didn’t believe me. He said that he went to the house, and discovered that everywhere was empty and locked up. I never knew you were planning to leave, are you leaving for America soon?

“not so soon. I will be planning for my visa tomorrow. I should be leaving before my third trimester.”

“I will see you before weekend then.”

” okay dear. But please don’t come here with anyone.”
Lizzy laughed and hung up the call.

I couldn’t go back to sleep anymore. I thought of reporting David to the police for publicly harassing me, I wanted him to stay off my life forever.

Part 19

I began to slightly calm down and nodding my head. I took a deep breath before answering all the questions the police men asked, my heart was beating like I was facing my worse fears.

“Madam you say na this pastor dey disturb you?” the awkward looking police officer asked, he was holding David’s photograph in his hands.

“yes, he harasses me everywhere I go. last week, he stalked me at my daughters school.”

“na tiv him be.” another police officer said.

“no. na kidnappers dey follow people like that, when they know that you get fine motor, they follow you everywhere. ”

“madam, do you know the man or where he lives.” another officer asked.

“he is my ex husband.” I said, my voice faltered as I brought my head down a bit.

The police officers looked at me with their mouth wide open.

“You mean am madam?”

“yes. My ex husband ”

“so Una wan carry Una family affairs come station abi?”

“oga please, that shouldn’t be your business. All I want is for you people to stop this man from bothering me and my children.” I said furiously.

“is okay madam. you go give us moni for fuel wey we go drive go him church go warn am well, well. money for pure water, money wey we go use buy gala hold belle and pocket money for the boys.” he reeled off, as he smiled with his brown tooth wide open.

I dipped my hands into my handbag and brought out clean notes, counted it roughly and gave to one of them.

He smiled widely and got the money excitedly.
“madam go, your problem is over. This man will never ever bother you again. Go and sleep with your two eyes close.”

“thank you oga.” I said. I felt a sudden urge to smile, but didn’t. I walked out hastily.
I melted into my car seat like a bulb of ice cream.
While I drove home that afternoon to pick the kids from their new school, I felt something so powerful.
Love. Broken love. like a dying sun about to explode.

In the last edition we dealt with how to cope with a jealous boyfriend. Read here. In that edition we established that a jealous boyfriend is dangerous to the health of a relationship, however we explained steps you can take to maintain that relationship if you absolutely want to keep the relationship moving. Here is the concluding part. Enjoy.

1. Make him know your friends and have their contact

A jealous partner constantly responds to things he does not know or things he can’t see, things he don’t understand or things he plainly suspects to be working against him, the woman he loves and or his relationship. He is infuriated because of what he feels. When you go on an outing with someone he has not met, he gets angry and bitter. He reacts and at some point, when he meets you with any of these friends, he throws a shade at you, or the other guy, or unnecessarily gets angry at you, dragging you in the presence of a stranger (the other guy).
One of the fruits of jealousy is uncontrolled anger in the presence of the person he suspects you to be cheating on him with. If you notice any of this in your relationship ensure that you are open to him about all your friends. Come out clean with him. If you have a hundred friends, let him know them all. If possible, let him meet them all, both male and female, even dogs, cats and chicken. Introduce them all to your beloved boyfriend. Let him know them and let him meet them. A jealous boyfriend has a sharp memory. If you tell him about your friends he will remember them all and can tell who is who, especially when you tell him you are with them and probably put them on the phone with him.

2. Be frank with your male friends:

Be frank with him about who your male friends are. They are the real threats. If you want this relationship to survive then you got to open up with him about the men in your life; from your brother to your father to the other men without any biological relationship with you. Don’t hide from him anything as regards the opposite sex. If you just met someone tell your boyfriend about him. Don’t wait any moment longer so you don’t forget. The thing about the critical jealous boyfriend is that he trusts no one, including himself. He assumes when you say the truth it’s a conspiracy, he feels any guy he does not know is a threat to his relationship; he feels he is a partner you have always had way before and someone you love and are cheating on him with, when in actual fact you just met him some moments ago. Save yourself from this. Tell him about every and any male figure in your life. Be open, be frank, be realistic, be fare and be truthful. You can only save your relationship with a jealous boyfriend if you are truthful.

3. Avoid scandals

Avoiding scandals is the one important way to get your relationship running smoothly. Don’t get into trouble, don’t keep a secret date or have a sexual relationship with any guy outside your partner. Be frank and be open and be plane; because we are living in a world where men can be very deceitful. The truth of the matter is that you might not want to have sex with that random dude, but because you were not careful, or because he was very smart and deceitful with you he made love to you, had it all on tape and afterwards uploaded the video to the internet or sent it as email to your partner. If you want your relationship with your partner to be itch free, then you must avoid scandals.
If your relationship is hit by a scandal, what happens is that it diminishes your trust level with your partner. If something like that really happened and there is evidence to prove the obvious, that relationship might not survive, and if it does, this singular action might create a very deeply seated habit of suspicion and lack of trust for the remainder of the relationship or his life.

4. Send him surprise gifts

The one very easy way to living with a jealous boyfriend is to create the impression that you are the one addicted to him, that it is you that is jealous of him or needs him badly and that if he is not on the same page with you, you might not survive the next storm. Apart from toasting him or sending him pictures and videos and texts and calling him regularly, surprise him with gifts. Now I’m not asking you to break the bank with them gold and diamond iPhones. However, surprise him with substance, gifts, flowers, cup cakes and whatever you know he loves and will never recover from, maybe a ticket to the game. SURPRISE HIM. If he is a foodie, then you have to know his favourite food. Know when he will be home and surprise him to a wonderful delicious treat; make his favourite, get him some clothes, some boxers or footwear. Make him happy by surprising him with gifts. This gives the impression that you love him and are addicted to him, that you don’t have time to toast another man since you are already using up all your time to surprising him.

5. Be close to an important figure in his life, someone he respects

Every man has an important figure in his life. Know who his is. Know the figure, his mother or father or brother or pastor or long time friend. Know who this person is and get super close to this person. The truth is that he will most often than yes listen to the advice or the counsel of this person. If you want to win his heart and constantly keep him on your side, and constantly keep him staying true to you and constantly eliminate the thoughts of jealousy that might be plaguing your relationship, then you must keep this figure super close to you. Be close to this person in question, reveal secrets that threaten your relationship so that while you are working on keeping your man and relationship, the other person can also be working on building the trust that your man should have for you.

6. Make him happy

Know what makes your man happy. If its food, or soccer or the football game. Know what makes him happy and flood him with excess of it. Lol. To be frank and for the records, excess happiness does not make a man sick, neither does it kill him. Flood him with happiness and gladness. Make him know that your life is about him and that if he does not love you or stay with you, you will die. Lol, not like you will actually die. But the strategy here is to toast him and declare unwavering loyalty to him while you make him happy. This soothes him, calms him and blinds him from whatever danger that might be brewing. This makes him doubt whatever anyone is saying. He assumes, if you can give him this level of love, dedication and gifts then you can’t cheat on him, if you can make him this happy, gifting to him what he loves then you can’t cheat on him. See the point?

7. Discern your threats and let him know them:

As an actively beautiful lady, do not be deceived, you will be wanted and or hunted by other men. When you realize you are beginning to get too close to some other man, let him know. Talk to him about it, let him see the man coming too close to you or asking you out or getting too touchy. Let him know. Don’t wait until you have fallen in love with him or had sex with him, let your partner see the signs and let him know the man. If you can be open to a jealous boyfriend about a clear and present danger, he will forever be grateful to you.

8. Talk to him about coming along with you for meetings everywhere:

If you are in a relationship with a jealous boyfriend, one of the things that happens in his life is that he always wants you to be with him, so that he can stalk you and see what you are doing at all times; so that he knows the guys running after you or calling you on phone or chatting you on WhatsApp, so that he can understand the threat and know how to deal with it. To play his game against him, you invite him to be with you. When you are planning your days, keep your schedule open. Plan them with him and try to invite him along. If he can’t come, due to the type of outing you are about to have, probably at the office doe an executive meeting or at a cafe or eatery to meet a client, honestly let him know, if possible, you create an alternative for him.; that since he can’t be in the meeting, he could walk you a distance, or come a half way or even be at the cafe or restaurant for the meeting, but be some distance away from where the actual deliberation happens. When you do this, you tell him or give him the impression that you can’t cheat on him.

9. Know when to move on

After trying every of my advice and none seems to be working, know when to move on. Don’t risk your life in the arms of an abusive relationship. Don’t mortgage your future or liberty because you feel love for an over jealous boyfriend. If you can’t cope with him, move on. You deserve better.

1. You see, there's division of labour in marriage. What she says about the house goes: furniture, curtains, colours, throw pillows, blinds,etc.

2. If you come home before Madam and the house help asks you what you will eat, tell her "Let me call Madam and ask her."
3. Tell Madam the party starts at 8pm when it actually starts at 7pm. Be ready at 6:30 pm and offer to help to iron, get her slippers, etc. You'd better be seen to be ready before your Madam. Don't go and start watching a match and think "I only need 15 minutes to get ready."

18. Your woman shouldn't really be running out of phone credit. I mean really! She shouldn't even know how it's done. Only that she always has.

20. Whatever financial pressures you have, please remember that food money is a first line charge. No excuses here o abeg, even if she has.
21. If you have a good woman, the best way to look after your mother and siblings is through your wife. She'll add her own money sef.

I have established over and over again that jealousy in a relationship is a huge danger to it. It is a signal to the fact that someone’s life is in danger, and most often than expected, the woman is the victim. We have in the last couple of days seen a sharp increase in the number of deaths recorded, gruesome killings of girls by jealous, insecure and naive men who think that if they can’t have a lady, no one else should, that if she can’t love him then she must not love anyone else. However, if you must proceed with that relationship, probably because you have fallen deeply in love and you don’t want to let go, probably because you want this relationship to work or feel that you have gotten to your last bend, and that beyond him you stand no better chance of finding love. If this is you, please find my well detailed list of strategies that you can adapt to coping with a jealous boyfriend.

1. Be open:

The one reason why jealousy exist in a relationship is because the man in question suspects that there are things his partner is hiding from him. He suspects that there are secrets in her life, things she has experienced with certain individuals before she met him, things that though had happened are still active with the said person; that the individual still has a hold over her and that the emotional allegiance she has to that person is strong. It would be even hurtful and unhelpful if she didn’t tell him the specifics and he had to gather the details from outside sources. This relationship would be ruled by the lack of trust, apprehensions, fear and ultimately jealousy. If you want your relationship with your jealous boyfriend to thrive then you must be open to your boyfriend. Be open to him about your past, about the men in your life, about the men in your past that are still present today and those of them he might have reasons to be concerned about. Be open and be honest. Jealousy is a strong, persisting and present danger for both relationships and the girlfriend in question. However, if you can be open your relationship can survive.

2. Be realistic:

If you have a life, or are an introvert and want to enjoy absolute freedom, the honest advice I have for you is to not date a jealous boyfriend. If you must date this jealous boyfriend, then be realistic about what you want. You can’t date a man and expect him to be happy that you are in shower naked with a former boyfriend or that you passed the night naked with an ex-boyfriend, or that you are always spending lonely times with some other guy or are always talking about some other guy or wanting to always visit him or help him or complementing him more than you even defend and appreciate your present boyfriend. Jealousy thrives when we throw anything at your jealous boyfriend and don’t care how he feels or responds. The fine way to deal with this is to put ourselves in his shoes. If we can’t handle these things if they were coming from him to us, if you can’t handle his passing the night in a former girlfriends home, or having a naked shower session with a former curvy girlfriend. If you can’t handle it, then be certain he can’t handle it. Be wise, be disciplined and be realistic. Know what you can handle and what you can’t, and in that light deal with your boyfriend.

3. Communicate:

A jealous boyfriend expresses dissatisfaction, usually translated to anger, with him shouting and ranting about situations that make him feel his girlfriend is either stalking another man or is in love with another man. However this is nothing compared to the amount of thinking that goes on in his mind. The mind of a jealous boyfriend is factory like. He puts in every energy available into thinking or studying, pondering, analyzing and or assuming. His mind mostly engages in a think-a-ton, postulating events that may or may not be true. Since you can’t read his mind or know for sure what his thoughts are, to be able to deal with great accuracy what exactly is spoiling his mood, you must communicate openly and intelligently. Talk about the things you assume he suspects and the people you assume he is jealous of. Talk about the things you assume he is mad about and talk about the things you assume he will be mad about. In your communication be anticipatory, be smart and be swift. He already has a problem with you been in the hands of guys, mostly people he assumes are better than him. Speak with him and speak highly of him in the process. Most men who are jealous boyfriends have low self esteem. If you must date him or continue in that relationship, then you must praise him, exalt him to build his ego; communicate with him to kill whatever signs of jealousy that might exist.

4. Plan your days:

If a man is jealous, he is because he assumes that days and moments where he does not know what you are doing, you are most likely with another man frolicking, having sex or making out. Men can be that low. You might have given him all the reasons to trust that you will never cheat on him, if he for any reason assumes another reason, outside what you told him, you most likely will have him reacting, as though you did it on purpose so as to cheat on him.

How do you curb this?

Be open about your daily activities. Every day that you will step out of the house or be out of his sight, you must carry him along. Communicate your plans with him, let him know your schedule or movement ahead of time. Plan them with him involved with the planning process. If the schedule will be tight let him know and let him see the durations of these tight engagements. If the schedule will be loose or if you will have meetings with some clients or partners or will have to be on an outing with some corporate entity or an individual, probably because you want to close a deal, let him know. Let him know what other girl friend will be going with you on the deal making dinner. Let him know what the dangers are and why you think you must go and how you think you can be safe from whatever his fears are. If there is a fight about this, settle it here. If he has to keep calling you from time to time then let him call you from time to time. Plan your days and let him know all the hot spots and dark spots in your activities. Let him know where there might be no network, in case you try to call and what time of the day you will be in those places, probably because you must close a deal there or be with your boss. This might sound stressful or might come across as you over working yourself, however that is what it takes to keep a relationship with a jealous boyfriend. If you can’t quit or move on without him, then you have to battle to save the union.

5. Be reachable:

A jealous boyfriend wants to always reach you. If you are not reachable, you give him the opportunity to assume, especially when he is at the critical stage of jealousy. Men at this stage suspect that their wife is cheating on them when they try to reach her by phone and the call is not answered on the first trial. If you are this person that might not take your phones into a meeting or might not be reachable because you are having a corporate or otherwise engagement in a part of the company that does not have network reception, then you must let him know ahead of time. Be reachable on phone or let him know why for some time you might not be reachable on phone. Let him know. If you are going to be in a meeting and can’t take the call. Pick the call, disable the speaker but position the phone in a way that he can hear you engaging a client in a meeting or him hear your boss conducting the meeting. If possible snap some pictures of the meeting and send to him, or do a very brief video clip of the meeting and send to him through Whatsapp or otherwise, so he knows you are in a meeting and can’t take his calls. Do everything humanly possible to be reachable. If you are dating a jealous boyfriend, you must always be reachable.

6. Call him unexpectedly:

A jealous boyfriend assumes that since you are cheating on him, or since you don’t love him as much as you love the guy you are cheating on him with, you won’t always call him. What then makes things worst is your not actually calling him at all. This can blow off his head and escalate the situation. To save this relationship, you must take it upon yourself to call him. Call him as much as possible. We all know he is the jealous one, he is the one with the low esteem, thus he is the one that needs to be checked upon. You need to as a matter of fact stalk him, turn the tables on him, play his games against him. Call every now and then and every single time and other time. Call him like you got no job or like you are addicted to his voice. Set up regular alarms to call him. Snooze alarms when they ring just to call him again after calling him when they ring again. Don’t wait for him to call you. Call him. When you can’t call him text him. Let him know you are engaged, or in a meeting, or dealing with a client, or managing a situation at the office, or walking on water. Make stuffs up, stuffs that are both funny and engaging. But make sure you call him and be dedicated to calling him.

7. Text love messages:

To deal with the assumptions of a jealous boyfriend you need express love to him, as though you're trying to toast him all over again. Toast him everyday. Send him loving messages, send him explicit messages, if he don’t mind. Act like you don’t have him or have never won his heart. He is the one afraid of losing you, thus the intense jealousy from him. However you play that card against him. You act like you can’t do without him and are afraid to lose him. Stalk him before he stalks you; toast him as though it is you seeking his attention. When you do this, you give him no room to jealous, thereby killing the assumption that you are cheating on him. This might not work for all kinds of jealous boyfriend, but this does one thing; it creates the super impression that you love him, are addicted to him and can’t let him go. This kills the thoughts of jealousy. When he assumes that you are cheating on him, one of the objections that ring in his mind are the messages that you have sent to him over and over again, and how dedicated you have been at that. He’ll want to doubt whatever suggestions just because you have constantly declared how much you love him, how much you need him and why you can’t do without him or why no other man can take his place in your life. Do this and be surprised at how quickly the jealousy dies.

8. Give him 100% access:

Because a jealous boyfriend assumes that you are hiding things from him, that you have created a hiding spot in your phone or your social media account, where you toast that other guy or share nudes with that other man, he finds it hard to trust you. If you want to date a jealous boyfriend, you need to give him a hundred percent access to yourself. Give him access to your phone, your call logs and chat accounts. If you want to keep someone like him take him the extra mile into discovering everything about you and everything about your communications. Do this to give him absolutely no reason to doubt the love you have for him.

10. Use him as profile picture:

Doing this makes him supreme. This gives him the impression that you are not only proud of him, but have declared an unfailing and undying loyalty, allegiance and or love for him and to him. This gives him the impression that you are proud of the relationship and what it can be. He assumes that guys exist who seek to take you away from him and most often than not, you lie to these people that you are single. When you put his picture in your profile picture spot, or when you make your cover page a picture of you both, you tell him you love him and have chosen to be with him forever. You tell him that you have told every guy that intends to ask you out or make out with you. You tell him that you have told them; that you have set a template to declaring to new guys that you are taken and that you don’t care what they do or have to offer. You through this have given him the firm impression that you have staked your entire future on him, damn the consequences, damn their swag or wealth or sexuality or connection. This has the very strong ability to forcing him into believing that you are not and will never cheat on him.

11. Relationship status on social media:

In your profile picture on social media, declare the love. Let it be seen, make it public in your social media that you are in a relationship with one guy and that guy is him. Tag him. Be proud of him and let him know that it is him and that you are proud of him. Make love posts about him. Post his picture every now and then, and also post a picture of him with you. Do love notes every other time. This tells him that you can’t be cheating on him and still declare love for him. Why? Because even the guy she will be sleeping with will also feel jealous that she is declaring love for some other guy and not him. This singular evangelistic move can turn away wrath. You need to do this to keep that jealous boyfriend.

12. Talk about him and let him know you are talking about him:

The critical jealous boyfriend assumes that there are other guys you are addicted to and that even though you declare love to him, these other guys are the ones that comes tops; that it is them you truly love. To deal with this, talk about your man and let him know you are talking about him and that you are talking about him to whoever he is jealous of. Be with those guys and put a call across to him. Put the phone on speaker and declare your love to him in the presence of this guy he is jealous of. Let him know you are with this guy and that you are declaring your love for him in the guy’s presence. If possible, when you are with this individual in question, do a video call and let him know you are with him, let your man see that he is there, close to you or around where you are. Stay long on the video call, and in it, repeatedly declare your love for him. Let the guy he is jealous over hear your voice and the conversations that follow after, and if possible, let him get involved with the conversation. This way your boyfriend knows that the guy is aware of his position in your life and that even if he wants to ask you out or make out with you, he would see very established signs that you are taken and that you are deeply in love with the one that has taken you.

13. Surprise him:

Send surprise selfie to him so he knows where you are. When you can’t send them let him know the conditions. Let him know you are wearing some really nice clothes and that you would have loved to send him pictures of you, but hat you can’t because you are in a meeting or engaging a client or trying to finish up a presentation. Carry him along. If he tries to insist that he sees your outing clothes, then send him a selfie of you doing what you said you were doing. Send him something, send him anything. When you do this, you are not only making him fall deeply in love with him, you make him know that you have no other guy but him and that you are addicted or in love with no other man but him. Following these steps make him know he is secured that it is you that is the jealous one. This gives him extra confidence and gradually kills the critical jealousy in him.

14. Know his friends:

His friends are like his kitchen cabinet; to an extent, they make the rules he lives by and structure the truths he believes in. He most often than not believes in them and does not take them lightly. If you have a jealous boyfriend, get close to his friends and let them see and know what is happening in your relationship. Let them see that you love him but that he is constantly doubting or questioning both your loyalty to him and or your love for him. They will be the one to fight for you, they are like your foot soldiers. Why? Simple. Since he is close to them and addicted to them, he brings to them the things that are bothering him. He puts it at their table and wants to hear their opinions. Just like you are close to him and most definitely can read signs that he is mad or jealous of some guy you are involving with; just like you can tell these things without him talking or saying a single word, so can his close pals and friends, and having them on your side will go a great length to protect your spot in his life and or kill whatever crazy assumption he is making about your cheating on him with some other guy.

15. Be close to his sisters:

The female folks are another very important Special Forces soldiers to recruit, especially the ones in his life. Be close to his sisters, his mothers, cousins and female friends. Be close to them. He most likely trusts them than he trusts his father, brothers or the male guys in his life. When they tell him you are not cheating on him and that he has no other reason to doubt your love, he in actual fact will have no other reason to doubt your love. Here you are taking advantage of the trust he has in them. The trick is simple. If he can trust them, and they trust you, then he can trust you. What mathematicians call chain rule.

That morning, my husband David came to pick me at the airport. He was dry faced and tensed, very unusual. Other times, David would be so excited to come pick me, he would kiss me and hug me passionately, but now, everything became different.
“You kept me waiting for hours in there,” I said, gazing angrily at him. “Don’t tell me it’s traffic honey, today is Saturday.”
“I am sorry, I had to pick the kids from summer lessons, and then rush to church to counsel a few couples.”He said soothingly. “You now prepare the kids for school, What happened to Ifeoma? She is the kid’s nanny.”
“And you are the Kids mom!” He Screamed suddenly. “You’ve been away from your family for 5months Ekom, the kids don’t even talk about you anymore.” David deliberately slowed his breathing in a bid to calm himself down.
I was silent for a while. My lips quivered, but David ignored that he saw tears glistening in my eyes.
Catching his eyes as he tried to look at me, I sensed a shiver of unease goes through him. He was right, I was away from my family for four months or more, I had women’s conference and hundreds of women to mentor in Houston. It was a moment I didn’t want to miss. Then I broke the silence; “What of Ifeoma?”
David looked uncertain. “she fell ill, so I asked her to go see Doctor Dennis.”
We were both quiet until we got home.
I sat on my bed now, I slipped off my slippers and sank my feet into the rug and decided to keep them sunk in so that my toes would feel cushioned. So that a part of me would feel safe.
“Mummy!” my daughter screamed, breathing deeply.
She smuggled into my arms and I grabbed her tight to myself.
“where is your sister?” I whispered into her ears.
“she is sleeping.”
Not long I heard tiny foots running along the corridor that led to my room. “mummy, mummy…” She jumped on me and kissed me on my cheeks, leaving me in the sweet comfort of motherhood.
They looked so healthy and chubby.
“what has Aunty Ifeoma and Daddy been feeding you with?”
“Golden mourn and banana porridge!” they chorused shrilly.
“Mummy, Church people said that you are no longer daddy’s wife.” My first daughter Teye said, her eyes became sad. Deep and sad.
“Aunty Ifeoma Now sleeps in daddy’s room.” Mfon the youngest said.
My heart jumped, I knew at that moment, that there were stories In their eyes that I was yet to know.
Part 2
I was still devastated with the thoughts of Ifeoma and my husband David. After I watched the kids sleep, I strolled into the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea.
Just after I poured the milk in a mug, I felt someone was in the kitchen too. I looked back, quickly surprised.
“Welcome Madam,” she said, almost stuttering.
I slowly poured the hot water from the flask into the mug, stirred it a bit and sipped.
Then I noticed a protruded stomach, she had tried to cover it with her handbag.
“Are you pregnant Ifeoma? you look it.” I asked in a soft tone.
Her expression was in earnest. “Yes madam, didn’t pastor tell you? I am pregnant for him, we are expecting a child.”
Her voice had a tremor in it, even though her face was bold and firm.
Her words were like the score of a sharpened blade across my heart. I sensed the wound gape open even before she’d finished speaking.
“You were sleeping with my husband while I was away?”
“I am sorry madam, I think pastor is in the best place to answer that question. it was an agreement.”
She said calmly and walked out of the kitchen, making a flappy sound with her shoes.
I stood there for moments like a mannequin, the tea cup in my hands, and then my eyes right at the door.
The sound of my ringing tone, brought me back from the shock I had.
“Hello Ekom?”
“Yes, Lizzy,” I responded with a sigh of relieve.
“Thank God I have been able to reach you, I have been dialing your American lines but not going through.” she sounded a bit terrified.
“well, I am back in Nigeria now. I came in this morning. Is everything fine?”
“Not at all, pastor brought your girl for maternity scan at my clinic last weekend. What’s that her name again?”
“Ifeoma?”
“Iyaaa, Ifeoma. I was shocked to see her all over him like they were lovers. What is happening?”
Tears rolled down my eyes as Lizzy went on talking about things that went on while I was away. Something flared deep in my eyes, but my lips remained sealed.
I was stricken silent, but the thud of my heartbeat sounded like cannon fire in my ears.
Part 3
I wanted to talk to David. When I knew he was home I decided to go to our bedroom.
“May I come in?” My expression inscrutable, I walked into the room when I noticed that someone was having a bath, without waiting for a reply.
Then I saw David on the bed, he was almost half naked, partly covered with the duvet.
He stared at me, slightly muzzy headed after being woken abruptly.
“We have to talk,” I said, almost whispering.
“I know.” he said.
“Who is in the bathroom?”
“oh, it’s Ifeoma.”
“Ifeoma now uses our bathroom?” I looked at David and suddenly wished the look in his eyes meant guilt and shame.
“Yes. She is having my baby.”
“I am aware David. But why have you taken yourself so down?”
“I am a human being Ekom!” He said huskily, raising his voice.
“So I am what? Am I not a human being too? I went to America with the church’s name, with the family name. I went there to make a name for us! To get Hills of grace ministries a branch in Houston takes so many churches years, but I used my charisma, and did that in few months…..”
“What I mean is…..” He faltered. But my heart was going wild.
“let me finish!” I screamed!
Just after a pause, Ifeoma came out of the bathroom, she had my towel tied around her.
“Who gave you my towel?” I asked meanly.
“I did.” David replied.
“Ifeoma, why were you sleeping with my husband while I was away? You were paid to take care of the kids, and clean the house.” The look I gave and my voice tone practically froze the blood in her veins.
I walked steps by steps towards her, dragged the towel off her body, leaving her naked.
“Aunty please….” she whimpered.
“Did you remember all the good things I did for you and your family while you were having sex with my husband! did you?” I held her neck forcefully while David ran and held me backward.
They both sensed the tension in the room and ran out.
Slowly I let out the breath I was holding.
leaning back on the luxurious upholstery, I let a smile steal my lips like the sun peeping from behind the cloud. God was watching, and I needed to talk to him.
Part 4
My mother-in-law visited.
I didn’t know why she came home that evening, but I had a feeling David might have told her that I was back from America.
After my father-in-law died some years ago, she took over the twelve branches of Hills of grace ministries. She accused every pastor In each branch for killing her husband and arrested every one of them.
Hills of grace ministry used to be Church of Jesus Ministries, but she and her only son David (my husband) had the church changed with new pastors and members.
Georgina being a boss lady wanted everything to be done in her own way at all times.
The church members referred to her as the queen mother. She was bossy, overruling, and very authoritative.
“I heard you were back Ekom.” Her voice sounded slightly rough as though some unexpected emotions had partially locked her throat.
“Yes mom.” I replied softly.
“I came here for a lot of reasons. Number one; the congregation of Hills ministries is tired of you. I am tired of you, my son is tired of you!” She said meanly in British accent.
“My husband never said that.”
“Does he need to say it? I am telling my son’s mind. He has been married to you for 12 years without a child of your own! we do not need adopted strange kids to come inherit my late husband’s sweat! He needs children, I need grandchildren. My son is not Abraham in the bible! He is David Okoye, he is my son. not the son of Terah!”
Her stern Visage hardly invited my confidence, but I was used to that.
“Those kids are my adopted kids, those girls you see? my husband and i agreed to adopt them together. they are our children. ”
“Go born yours! it’s either you gave birth to them or you didn’t! you are barren!
leave Ifeoma to have my grand child in this house, in peace! After that I will join them together in holy matrimony after she has put to birth.”
My heartbeat slowed inside my chest. As I turned to David who was momentarily stuck dumb.
“I am still married to my husband. we married in church. He is a man of God.”
“David in the bible was a man of God, Solomon was a man of God. All these men were married to countless women. A man is entitled to as many wives as he wants. If you don’t agree, you can sign this.” She handed a paper to me, I knew what it was. But I didn’t touch it, I didn’t get it from her.
“I won’t sign for a divorce!” I said angrily as tears moistened my eyes.
“When you’re tired Ekom, you will sign and leave my son’s life!”
“It’s okay mom,” David said soothingly.
“She is my wife. She has the right to counter this. I know what I want. the church shouldn’t hear about this yet .” he said and stood to walk away.
Georgina flew from her seat and started to shout, her voice was unsteady.
“You know nothing! I warned you against marrying a Calaber woman, but you didn’t listen. you must do as I say! marry ifeoma and let go of this demon!”
“Don’t talk to Ekom that way mom, she is still my wife!” David screamed!
The kids ran and hugged me so tight, they were so scared.
It was after Georgina left that I felt chilled by fear. it was the worse moment of my life.
That night I prayed that God should change things around for my good. That night, David came to my bed, while the kids were asleep.
Part 5
He sneaked into the children’s bedroom while I was about to pray. The imagery of how he sneaked into Ifeoma’s room was now clear, but it didn’t hurt me anymore.
“Baby…..Please can I see you?” He said as his voice trailed off.
I stood up gently and followed him to the sitting room. I found myself holding my breath, I folded my hands in my lap and waited.
“i have missed you, despite all of these. I am sorry for the way mom talked to you, she is only acting of concern for me. I am her only child.”
“So you are going to marry Ifeoma after she puts to birth?” I asked in a low tone. There were sadness in my eyes.
He pulled me close and began to kiss me softly.
“I feel like we are doing this for the very first time.” I admitted softly. My voice a broken whisper as I gave him my whole body.
Now my limbs entwined with his, it was a joy unparalleled to have the freedom to slide my hands down that strong, lean back with its taut, well developed muscles and silky skin, to feel the amazing well defined mouth of his lip taste. It looked as if I was the husband snatcher, sneaking to make love to my madam’s husband in her comfort zone.
Kissing my tears away, David drove hard into my body and finally fell against me, his breathing harsh and his forehead lightly sheened with sweat. As the erotic scents from our skin mingled, it was time to go back to reality.
I was reminded again that my home was in a mess.
“Goodnight.” David whispered and left me in the warmness of the sitting room.

The next morning which was Sunday, the morning winds were swift. It began to drizzle. David and Ifeoma had left quite early. I drove the kids quietly to church that Morning.
“Mummy, is Aunty Ifeoma going to be our new mummy?” my youngest daughter Mfon asked girlishly.
“No darling. Jesus won’t let it happen. Whatever you don’t want in your life, ask Jesus to take it away .”
“mummy, will Jesus take Aunty Ifeoma away from our house?” Teye asked.
“Yes Baby, Jesus will.” We were all basked in the feeling of calmness that over took us.
After I dropped the kids at the children’s church, I stepped into the church auditorium. Everything changed, including my seat which was right beside my husband’s seat on the podium. My heart trembled, as I saw Ifeoma rightly seated on my space.
My legs began to shake in between with the choir’s ministration.
I shook my head like a crazy woman, my bottom lip quivering, I was trying not to cry anymore.
It was obvious that I was about to push off Ifeoma from my seat, and give her the beatings of her life. But the ushers held me.
“maama calm down.” they whispered in chorus.
My distress was genuine and heartfelt.
Part 6
The cool air felt heavy against my bare arms, as if they were holding onto raindrops that were reluctant to fall. It was a cold Sunday evening, I sat comfortably under the comfort of my children’s duvet, while I watched them sleep. Then I heard familiar voices in the sitting room. David and Ifeoma were back from church.
“Don’t worry, she won’t do anything to you. Take off your jacket, let’s go inside.”
David Instructed, serious faced as they entered the sitting room. Ifeoma sat quietly on the couch. Her heart skipped a bit when she saw me appear in the sitting room, immediately she sensed my watchful eyes, she became bold and confident.
“You should let me be please madam Ekom. it is not my fault that pastor wants me.” she said in a shaky tone.
“Get prepared for where God will be taking you to Ifeoma. Very soon, you will be so ashamed of yourself, God has revealed to me how such a day will be.”
“And I hope he also revealed to you that I have finally agreed to divorce you Ekom. You and your adopted kids should start packing.” David said, he didn’t look directly at my face.
I flew on the center table firmly and slapped him twice on the Face.
” You and your Adulterous lover will leave this house of my sweat for me and my Children. I toiled with you! prayed that we grow together. I carried the sands of this house on my head, which led to my first and last miscarriage!
go to hell with your divorce paper, I am God’s own woman, I detest divorce. I will be patient. Go to hell with your church! with your lover! shame on you two! ” I snapped at them, I was throwing curses at them. Tears rolled down my cheeks, I made choking sounds as I walked angrily into the Room. A film of sweat coated my entire body like a second skin.
The silence was broken only by the whir of the ceiling fan as it sliced through the still air.
David sat down and slowly lowered his head into his hands.

“Ekom, unbelievable. You mean David said these words to you?”
Pastor Felix asked. He has been David’s childhood friend since the days of theological school. He founded a big church and had a large congregation too. Pastor Felix was a mature looking man, who had grey hairs and wore round spectacles at all times. He was a learned man of God who was highly respected. He was also the president of Pastors Forum.
“How can a church as big as Hills ministries condone such sinful act from their pastor? I am so disappointed to hear this. What did Lady Georgina say about this?” He asked in a baritone voice.

For just a moment, I saw such an unfettered emotions in my sister’s eyes, she was almost at the verge of tears and then immediately gets back to herself when she heard the kids scream her name.
“Aunty Abigail!” The both of them jumped on her like puppies as she pegged them on their foreheads excitedly.
“Aunty Abigail, mommy and daddy are fighting.” Mfon said shrilly.
“Daddy has a new mummy. and Grandma said we are adopted children.” Teye said Innocently.
Perhaps it was then that I began to feel submerged in hazy nostalgia. A feeling that never left me.

A woman has "married" a train station she's spent 36 years in love with and says they have sex - mentally. Carol Santa Fe, 45, claims she has been in love with Santa Fe train station in California since she was nine years old.

The world's first operational "Robocop" began its mandatory tour Sunday in Dubai, the first in the planned robotic police of the emirate. The Robocop, five feet five inches tall and weighing 220 pounds, speaks six languages and reads facial expressions.
