NYSC / 7 Important Skills You Must Learn During Your NYSC (part 1) by naijakopas: 10:33am On Jul 04, 2019
Irrespective of your course of study, background, gender, all this amounts to little if you don’t work well with others.

Some of the most important professional skills required to excel in a career and life can’t be taught in a classroom or measured on paper. These skills/ traits are called soft skills and they’re more crucial to your job search and overall career than you think.

WHAT ARE SOFT SKILLS?
Unlike hard skills, which can be proven and measured difficult to quantify. Some examples of soft skills include analytical thinking, verbal and written communication, and leadership, teamwork e.t.c

One reason soft skills are so important is that they help facilitate human interaction. “Soft skills are key to building relationships, gaining visibility, and creating more opportunities for advancement,”

So what this means Basically, you can be the best at what you do, but if you lack the required soft skills, you’re limiting your chances of career success.

Career / Free Cv Writing Master Class by naijakopas: 4:49pm On Jun 20, 2019
A few years ago, After my National Youth Service
I was filled with hope and energy to apply for jobs.
I was a regular visitor to many job advertising platforms
like Jobberman, Carrernaija, and even Nairaland.
I applied for at least three jobs a day
That’s twenty-one job application in a week
both online and offline.

Hoping that I get called for an interview. I always made sure my phone was charged

so I don’t miss any calls or messages.
Anytime my phone beeps, I get excited and hope it was an invite for an interview.

But na that time MTN and Etisalat go send their yeye message.
I check my emails every one hour, just to be sure I’m not missing any message.
Out of all application sent out, I hardly get up to two interviews invite in a month.
I started getting frustrated all my hope and energy started diminishing, started blaming my village people.

Not until I found out what I was doing wrong.

NYSC / 5 Ways To Fully Enjoy The 3 Weeks Camp Experience by naijakopas: 11:42am On Jun 17, 2019
Congratulations if you have successfully printed your call up letter. You now know where you will be spending at least your next three weeks (if you will be relocating) or your next twelve months.
Some of you are not happy with your posting especially if you are posted far north, I understand the feeling of thinking about the long distance travel and feeling of uncertainty about the camp experience in that region. But worry not, irrespective of your posting, you can still have a fun-filled camp experience. I’ve researched and list out 5 things you can do to have a fun-filled camp experience.

Below is the list of important things to go in order to fully experience the fun the comes with the 3-weeks camp

1. HAVE ENOUGH MONEY (GUYS)
This cannot be overemphasized; I put guys because ladies can always have their way some times(smiles).
You will need money for some expenses, especially those who will not be eating from the camp kitchen, you have the mammi market to your service.

You will also need cash to adjust your khaki as 80% of you will be given oversized wear, except you don’t mind wearing khaki that looks like an agbada(lol)

Other expenses like photocopies, snapping of passport photographs, pictures during camp activities, buying of personal belongings if you didn’t bring them from home.
If you don’t like your state of deployment, the camp is the best place to apply for relocation, some will be rejected but with cash nothing is impossible. So if you want your redeployment granted easily then be ready to part with some cash.

NYSC / 7 Things To Learn Before Going For NYSC by naijakopas: 6:04pm On Jun 14, 2019
Congratulations if you have successfully done your registration without any itches, start preparing for your once in a lifetime adventure(debatable).

You’ll finally get to make your own decisions, pick what time to sleep, eat whatever you’d like and stay out as late as you want.

But wait.

There’s a catch...

All that independence does not guarantee that you will really have a fun and memorable service year.

But there are certain skills that will be valuable to learn before you begin your one Year compulsory service which would dramatically improve your NYSC experience especially if you will not be serving in your state of residence where you will be going to your Place of Primary Assignment(PPA) from home.

Below are the SEVEN Important things to learn in order to have a fun and memorable service year
