Politics2023 Presidency, IGBOS Will Vote Massively For TINUBU by naijapower(op):
The Igbos will vote for Tinubu because of how the 2021 election campaign will play out by group supporting Tinubu.
The Igbos have money, so the election will not be about money but logic.
Tinubu government will offer the Igbos a future they desire. "RESPECT" among Nigerians
Igbo are proud people, that want the respect due them. that. Tinubu will give them.
Tinubu is a man from the street and understand that in the street brother is not only your mother's child but a fellow street child.

The Igbos would love to produce the President come 2021, but the current crop of Igbo politicians entering the ring do not have nationwide Political + Economical + Administrative + Security Circle =Respect to win an election.

Will the North support an Igbo candidate at the current time?

Will the West pick an Igbo above Tinubu

Tinubu and an Igbo candidate will split South South votes.

If you disagree, state your point.

Honestly speaking.. the man is gifted and talented with exemplary leadership qualities. Out of all his colleagues that served as senators and governors in the past, he is the only one relevant in modern day politics, that is to show his level of resilience and ability to adapt to new realities.

Need I mention that he has groomed and made leaders within and outside the country and still grooming leaders

BusinessCAC Register Blockchain Start-up After VP Osinbajo Intervention by naijapower(op): 12:57pm On Oct 24, 2021
According to Bitcoin.com news

Nigerian Agency Finally Registers Blockchain Start-up, Blames Employee for Rejection of First Application

Just a few days after reports emerged that it had refused to process a company registration application by Flint API limited, the Nigerian agency Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has now registered the blockchain start-up. The agency however blames an unnamed employee for the failure to process the application.

The CAC’s About-turn
According to a report, the agency’s reversal of its earlier decision followed an intervention by the CAC’s registrar-general Alhaji Garba Abubakar. As reported by Bitcoin.com News, the CAC’s refusal to register the start-up had prompted directors of an incubating hub that is housing Flint API Limited to seek Nigerian vice president Yemi Osinbajo’s intervention.

While there is speculation that Osinbajo did intervene, the report by Cryptoassetbuyer, however, suggests it was Muhammad Abdullahi, an assistant to Abubakar, who aided in the registration process. The difficulty in processing the application also is said to have been the result of an unnamed employee’s error.

Start-up Issued With Certificate of Incorporation
After completing the registration process that reportedly took just six hours, Abdullahi went on to inform the co-founder of Convexity, Adedeji Owonibi, about this development. Writing on Linkedin, he said:

Adedeji Owonibi Your application has been registered with RC 1852282. Thanks for reaching out. However, this type of matter should be escalated through the channels provided by the Commission.

Meanwhile, following this development, the other co-founder of Convexity, Charles Orkafombah suggested via Linkedin that Osinbajo had indeed intervened in the matter. He also confirmed that a certificate of incorporation had been issued to Flint API limited.

Igbo and Yoruba youths are very intelligent and a force.

PoliticsNigeria: Boko Haram Self-destruct Mode by naijapower(op): 3:13am On Oct 23, 2021
October 20, 2021: For Nigeria, increased crime, especially kidnapping, is largely the result of the worldwide covid19 economic slowdown and recession. This was made worse by the sharp global decline in oil sales, which hit the Nigerian economy hard. At the end of 2020 unemployment was nearly 30 percent and inflation nearly 15 percent. Currently the unemployment rate is still over 20 percent and the inflation rate is 16 percent.

Because the economic damage was worldwide it has hurt Nigeria more than just a local recession would. Even with the recession Nigeria still has the largest economy in Africa and the 26th largest worldwide. Post covid19 economic recovery depends on how effectively the government spends funds allocated for recovery and how well corruption is controlled. In the past, post-disaster recovery money has been a favorite, and vulnerable, target for corrupt politicians and other government officials.

The covid19 recession hit oil producing nations particularly hard because there was less demand during 2020 and that meant lower oil prices. Worldwide oil income for OPEC members was about $600 billion in 2019 but declined over 40 percent in 2020. The oil income decline for Nigeria was closer to fifty percent in 2020. Oil income makes up most of the government budget because Nigeria’s pervasive corruption makes collecting taxes, especially income taxes from the wealthy, impossible.

Northern Exposure

freestar
The army effort to suppress Islamic terrorism in the northeast is nearly a decade old and still putting about a thousand or more Islamic terrorists out of action (captured, surrendered or dead) a year. The violence in the northeast continues because none of the fundamental problems have been addressed. Boko Haram got started in the 1990s as a non-violent group protesting the corruption and calling on Nigerians, especially in the Moslem majority states of northern Nigeria, to be more religious and less corrupt or tolerant of corruption. All these things did was trigger a backlash from the local government, police and soldiers. This escalated and turned into a large-scale Islamic terrorist uprising which was suppressed seven years ago, leaving behind devastation, perpetual banditry and Boko Haram violence. An increase in tribal disputes over territory and grazing rights in the northwest and central Nigeria have been producing more dead than Boko Haram and become more of a threat to national unity than Boko Haram ever was. The tribal land wars have been around long before Islamic terrorism but the major offender in the land wars, the Fulani, also adopted the Boko Haram belief that northern Moslems had an obligation to rid the north of Christians. Most of the farmers attacked by Fulani raiders are Christians and the Fulani violence is not just to gain control of land, but all to kill all the Christians encountered. The Christians fight back.

Southern Discomfort

Boko Haram and Fulani revivals of ancient religious wars (jihads) against Christians and non-Moslems in general had brought back to life another disruptive and divisive cause; Biafra and the Igbo separatist movement in the southeast. This was revived in 2015 and at first the government ordered police to crack down. By 2016 nearly 200 Igbo had been killed by police attacks on demonstrators and anyone suspected of separatist activity. The violent response was obviously making it worse and after 2018 a gentler approach was tried.

freestar
The pro-Biafra separatists have been around and increasingly active since the 1990s. Back in the 1960s the Igbo (or Ibo) people of southeastern Nigeria considered establishing a separate Igbo state called Biafra. A brutal war followed before the separatist movement was crushed and the Igbo were warned not to try it again. Separatist attitudes were silenced but not extinguished. Pro-Biafra groups began to appear again in the late 1990s, trying to revive the separatist movement. Since then, over a thousand separatists have been killed, and many more imprisoned, while the government continues to insist that Biafra is gone forever. But as details of the extent of government corruption during the last few decades came out, Biafra again seemed like something worth fighting for. Senior government officials, including president Buhari, are paying attention and seeking to work out a compromise with the Igbos. The Fulani are less amenable to any compromise, especially since the Fulani are Moslem and consider themselves defenders of Islam against non-believers like the Christian Igbo.

In response to the threats of violence, a major pro-Biafra organization IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) took the lead in protecting Igbo from anti-Biafra violence. In areas where peaceful defense measures do not work IPOB formed an armed security component, the ESN (Eastern Security Network), to defend Igbos in Imo State from Fulani and government violence. The government has responded by sending a battalion of infantry to an area thought to be a base for ESN members. This was unpopular with the locals as Nigerian soldiers are notorious for their violent behavior. These troops had been ordered to behave but that proved difficult for them to do so in the face of Igbo contempt and hostility.

October 17, 2021: In the northeast (Borno state) the soldiers detected and opened fire on a large group of Boko Haram gunmen apparently seeking to raid and loot a residential suburb of Maiduguri, the state capital. The air force as a alerted and soon had armed helicopters supporting the soldiers who were fighting the Boko Haram gunmen. The Boko Haram force was taking casualties and fled. This came several hours after Boko Haram gunmen ambushed soldiers outside a nearby army base. The ambush failed and the Boko Haram men fled. This was apparently a different group. These two incidents follow a similar clash the day before near the city that left three soldiers and at least twenty Boko Haram gunmen dead and many more wounded who fled. The three incidents were thought to be part of a coordinated attack on Maiduguri but further investigation revealed that all three attacks were opportunistic or deliberate looting operations required to keep many Boko Haram groups going.

freestar
Boko Haram raiders persist in carrying out attacks near the capital because there is more to steal. There is also more public hostility towards Boko Haram. The police and soldiers are often warned in time to send one of their rapid response teams, which arrived in wheeled armored vehicles. Boko Haram sometimes anticipates this and prepares to flee if they realize the locals are hostile and have cell phones that quickly alert the security forces. The rapid reaction force often catches up with the fleeing Boko Haram men and kills or captures many of them. Boko Haram continues attempting these risky operations in order to terrorize the population and demoralize the security forces. These raids are carefully planned because just getting into the city means planning a route that avoids the many checkpoints. One risk planning cannot minimize is the random civilians with a cell phone who is often unseen by the raiders. A decade ago, Boko Haram had a lot more popular support because the Islamic terrorists said they were fighting against corruption and bad government in general. Boko Haram soon came to be viewed as a cure that was worse than the disease.

October 16, 2021: Britain issued a travel warning for British citizens in Nigeria, who are advised to stay out of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states in the north and northeast. In the south, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states are also dangerous. Because of the increased bandit and terrorist threat British visitors are advised to only make essential visits to Bauchi, Kano, Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto and Kogi states as well as anywhere within 20 kilometers of the border with Niger while inn Kebbi and Abia States. British citizens are warned to stay away from inland areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states, which also have extensive river systems that are used for travel. Most of these areas are risky because bandits and Islamic terrorists see foreigners as prime kidnapping targets. Many British visitors are Nigerian born or the descendants of Nigerians and their presence is easy to spot because despite looking like locals the expatriate Nigerians now move and speak differently than the natives, even if the locals are close kin.

October 13, 2021: In the northeast (Borno state) a large ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province) force suffered a major defeat when a planned attack on one of the army “Super Camps” failed in a spectacular fashion. The attack included the ambush of a military convoy headed for a Super Camp on the main highway to Damaturu, the capital of neighboring Yobe State. ISWAP lost at least 24 men, including three well-known leaders. Five years ago, the army responded to attacks like this, especially by ISWAP, by improving their tactics. This included only using larger, better defended bases up north. These “Super Camps” eliminated the Boko Haram ability to mass sufficient forces to overrun and loot smaller army camps. Boko Haram and ISWAP still try but so far, those attacks, using variations in previous tactics, have failed, often costing the attackers heavy losses.

October 5, 2021: In the northeast (Borno state) near Lake Chad, two days of fighting between ISWAP and Boko Haram factions that refuse to join ISWAP, left over a hundred Boko Haram and ISWAP gunmen dead. This is the unexpected aftermath of the mid-June death of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau. He was killed by a large ISWAP raiding party and the factional dispute declared over because of the ISIL faction raid. It wasn’t. The death of veteran Boko Haram leader Shekau did not lead to a reunification of Boko Haram under pro-ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) leadership.

freestar
Shekau was killed by dissident Boko Haram members that had joined ISIL and considered any Boko Haram who did not do the same as traitors to Islam. Shekau had been active in Boko Haram from the beginning, in the 1990s, and had been leader since 2009. Shekau was correct about ISWAP, the local ISIL affiliate, seeking to absorb Boko Haram and seemed to realize more than ISIL leaders that many Boko Haram members preferred to fight ISWAP, or simply leave the movement. ISWAP leaders backed this forced reunification idea without realizing the impact the death of Shekau would have on most Islamic terrorists in the northeast. This became obvious when the number of Boko Haram and ISWAP members abandoning Islamic terrorism increased after the “merger” and death of Shekau was first announced. Many of those defectors are switching to organized crime and ditching their religious pretensions. This has already been happening in the last few years but the “merger” caused the trend to spike. By the end of August over 8,000 Boko Haram/ISWAP members, including many family members who lived in Islamic terrorist camps, had officially surrendered, something which merely resulted in an update of government records and agreeing to answer questions about their experience with Boko Haram. Nearly all the Boko Haram/ISWAP already named as criminals and wanted for specific crimes, are leaders and could negotiate a surrender deal that could spare them any punishment at all. That has upset a lot of northern political and business leaders, but these men know that if you have enough cash and connections, you can avoid conviction. This has been the case during the last decade as more and more notorious (they often flaunted it) politicians and business magnates were prosecuted, often with the help of foreign countries, like the UAE and many other Western nations, who provided evidence of financial activities locally.

Boko Haram quickly appointed a new leader; Bakura Modu (or Sahaba) who had much less experience than Shekau and he moved Boko Haram headquarters from the Sambia forces to Rijana forest in neighboring Kaduna State. These changes did not stem the defections. Boko Haram and ISWAP are both beset by money problems. Over a decade of Islamic terrorist violence in the north have ruined the local economy, there are more unemployed young men who can be enticed to join the Islamic terrorist for a “joining bonus” of less than $20 with the promise of more if they can learn to handle an assault rifle and succeed at looting and plundering what is left to steal in the northeast. A merger of economic, not religious, convenience was one thing most Islamic terrorists could agree on.

Boko Haram and ISWAP leaders tried to turn this collapse around by declaring the recent success of the Taliban in Afghanistan was still possible in Nigeria. The Islamic terrorist violence has been going on for over fifteen years in Borno state and portions of central and northern Borno where Boko Haram and ISWAP remained active are now depopulated economic wastelands. The Islamic terrorists are not strong enough to expand and, unlike the Afghan Taliban, Boko Haram does not have a powerful Moslem neighbor like Pakistan supporting them and providing sanctuary. There is also no massive drug production operation, like the heroin cartels of southern Afghanistan. While Boko Haram and ISWAP leaders insist prospects are great, that only applies to the leadership. Most Islamic terrorists in Nigeria have destroyed their own communities for a decade and have nothing to show for it. Their leaders are seen as another bunch of corrupt officials who prosper while the majority sinks deeper into poverty.

BusinessBitcoin Will Skyrocket To $168,000 When Futures Start Trading On Wall Street – F by naijapower(op): 2:34pm On Oct 22, 2021
HE THAT HAS EAR SHOULD HEAR

The price of bitcoin could nearly triple when the first crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) makes its New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) debut on Tuesday, according to analysts at US research consultancy Fundstrat.
The New York-based researchers, who had previously projected the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency to hit $100,000 by the year’s end, now say that the ProShares ETF may attract substantial inflows from investors, thus boosting the price of bitcoin.

According to Fundstrat, the new bitcoin futures ETF will deliver higher first-year inflows than the Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 fund ETF was able to attract back in 2002 by tracking the Nasdaq 100 index.

“The new bitcoin ETF will enable vastly more individuals to allocate to crypto. We think bitcoin demand will exceed the inflows for QQQ,” Fundstrat Global Advisors co-founder Tom Lee said, as quoted by Yahoo Finance.

The analyst added that the bitcoin ETF could bring more demand from the investors, who already enjoy the option of purchasing and holding bitcoin via existing crypto exchanges.

Fundstrat expects the bitcoin ETF to bring inflows of around $50 billion, implying roughly $50 million in additional demand for bitcoin per day.

“There are some views that the run up in [bitcoin’s price] is already discounting this approval,” the expert said.

“To an extent, this is probably true, since bitcoin has surged to near all-time highs in the past few weeks. But in our view, the price of bitcoin will continue to rise, well after actual approval of the ETF.”

Bitcoin was trading at around $62,650 as of 13:25 GMT, according to crypto data provider CoinMarketCap.

PoliticsHow Igbos Can Support Tinubu Presidency Dream And Still Produce A President by naijapower(op):
The Igbos want to Produce the next President of Nigeria, but first they need the North and West vote to produce the President of Nigeria.
Asiwaju Tinubu,Atiku wants to be President also, even Kingibe, Wike, Yahaya Bello will love to be president in 2023.

The 2023 election is around the corner and the guns are already out.

Nigeria is bleeding as a result of the desire to be the next president come 2023.

The North that has ruled this nation more than the south, despite producing the current president, still wants the office of the president. Sound funny.

The Igbos must not allow the mistake of Awolowo and Azikiwe to denial then theOffice of the President of Nigeria, come 2023 if they so wish.

The Igbos can produce the President come 2023, if they are ready to go through Tinubu Highway or build a bridge accross Tinubu River.

Asiwaju is the only politician that have the office of the president in sight. Like i said in the other post, except Buhari ,Osibanjo refuse. Tinubu is the next President of Nigeria come 2023.
Who is Asiwaju Tinubu, according to Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bola_Tinubu

Asiwaju is a pan Nigeria politician. An Intelligent person that understand what is economy and how to make an economy self sufficient. He did it with Lagos State and we are still seeing the effect in Lagos today.

Asiwaju like Abiola and Awolowo are nationalist figure, but Tinubu is more Strategic Politically than Abiola and Awolowo.

Nigeria really need a pan Nigeria leader as President at this point in time.

Asiwaju Tinubu is the Political Piller of the West, whose action will affect the next generation of political leaders from the west and the west political relationship with other region of Nigeria..

Asiwaju political action has isolated Lagos State from the current economical hardship facing other states of Nigeria.
Asiwaju dream is to become the President of Nigeria someday, But age is not on his side again, therefore he will be a fulfill man, if he can become the next president. NOTE: Asiwaju is very qualified technically to rule this nation.

Asiwaju has made money ,friends, name. But the Title "President of Nigeria" is very dear to him.

The South Western will gladly support an Igbo Presidential candidate ,if Asiwaju Tinubu say so.

A South West/East Political collaboration will bring peace and progress to Nigeria. Pa Awo and Pa Zik did just that then to give us Independence.

The Igbo deserve to produce the President of Nigeria, and every patriotic Nigeria agrees. But politics is a battle for the political war lords and foot soldiers.

So how can the Igbos support Tinubu to produce the president of Nigeria.

Remember Asiwaju has Very Powerful Political structure: Media, Foot soldiers, Funds, International Connection, Public Appeal to run Presidential election successfully, This the igbo should note and most importantly Northern politicians want Tinubu as against an Igbo Candidate.

A Political arrangement between Tinubu and the Igbos to Produce an Igbo President will get almost 80% Southern Nigeria vote and 60% Norther vote .
Age is not on Asiwaju Tinubu side, that is the drive for the west to produce the president come, 2023. As Asiwaju is the main contender from the west right now, Minus Asiwaju, if the 2023 President comes from the east, it will not affect the west.

The east should put their political drum stick down and embarked on a political consultation to Asiwaju home . Which will yield a desire result. President Buhari had an arrangement with Tinubu, and it result to Buhari becoming President.

The Person that needs the 2023 most is Asiwaju Tinubu follow by the Igbos and the Yorubas.

In my other post, i gave an option, which is one of the options on table.

NOTE: With or Without Asiwaju Tinubu the Igbos can produce President of Nigeria.

September 14, 2020: In the northeast (mainly Borno state) corruption and continued Boko Haram violence have crippled the educational system, as well as the economy and much else. In the last decade Boko Haram has destroyed or damaged over a thousand schools and caused more than 1,500 schools to be closed in Borno. This has crippled efforts to educate about four million students. Efforts to repair the damage are crippled by corruption and continued Boko Haram violence. The Islamic terrorists are finding that the local refugee camps are a valuable resource. There are always some armed gangs in these camps, where the usual local leadership of elders or elected officials is lacking. Boko Haram has become the most powerful gang in many camps, although they do not publicize their Boko Haram affiliation because the army will enter the camp to deal with extraordinary circumstances. The usual poverty, unemployment and lack of schools is considered normal and Boko Haram exploits it to recruit supporters. For uneducated and unemployed teenage boys, joining Boko Haram to be a fighter seems attractive because there is the prospect of loot and sex. Teenage girls are often coerced to be suicide bombers.

A growing portion of Boko Haram income is from extortion payments. In many parts of northern Borno state Boko Haram can make use of the roads impossible for personal and commercial traffic, unless these drivers pay a fee to get past the Boko Haram roadblock. Sharing control of the roads with the military makes it possible for Boko Haram assassins to go after local leaders who are usually tribal chiefs or government officials. In the aftermath of these deaths the replacement leaders tend to be more accommodating to Boko Haram demands. Captured civilians are used as slave labor as well as hostages for ransom. Few families in northern Borno can afford a ransom so the captives are gone until they die, escape or are rescued by the army.

The objective of all this mayhem is to enable Boko Haram to slowly take control of the population and government in the north.

Boko Haram violence in 2014-15 resulted in Boko Haram taking control of many parts of northern Borno. That control was broken by 2017 because of a massive army offensive. Boko Haram was diminished and scattered but not destroyed and the Islamic terrorists changed their tactics, rebuilt their numbers and sought to make a comeback. Boko Haram has been more successful at that than the army has been at destroying them.

The Boko Haram violence has caused nearly 300,000 Nigerians to seek refuge in Cameroon, Chad and Niger. Most of these refugees live in refugee camps, which have become a refuge for Boko Haram members. Back in Nigeria (mainly Borno state) there are still over two million internal refugees from Islamic terrorist and tribal violence in northern Nigeria. Despite years of efforts by the army, Boko Haram has become a permanent presence in northern Borno state and able to regularly carry out attacks in Cameroon and Niger as well.

Northern neighbors Chad, Cameroon and Niger criticize Nigeria for not maintaining discipline in the army and making Nigeria as inhospitable for Boko Haram as Chad, Cameroon and Niger. These three countries are raided by Boko Haram based in Nigeria and the Islamic terrorists have had a much more difficult time establishing bases in these nations.

Cameroon has had the most trouble with Boko Haram in part because it shares a long border with eastern Nigeria. Northern Cameroon is less populous and developed as neighboring Nigeria but the Cameroonian military is more effective. Cameroon civilians have the most problems with Boko Haram in areas where refugee camps for Nigerians are located. There is a growing popular demand in Cameroon for the Nigerian refugees to be forced back into Nigeria because of the way Boko Haram uses the camps as a refuge and source of support.

Since the 2010 Boko Haram violence along Lake Chad, the borders with Niger and Chad have been a major battleground. In that decade there were nearly 30,000 dead and three million refugees. Over 80 percent Most of the dead and refugees from Boko Haram violence have been in this Nigerian border zone.

While the Boko Haram violence is coordinated in an effort to control territory, that is complicated because there are two separate factions of Boko Haram. The larger faction is also called ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province) and it is the cause of most of the violence near Lake Chad. ISWAP was once a faction of Boko Haram that declared its allegiance to ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) in 2016. Many of these new ISIL members had been with Boko Haram since 2004. ISWAP personnel are mainly in northeastern Nigeria with smaller numbers in Chad, Niger and northern Cameroon. What remains of the original Boko Haram is about half the size of ISWAP and operates in northern Borno state areas that are not near Lake Chad. The two factions have fought each other in the past, but in the last two years appear to have established some form of ceasefire and an effort to stay out of each other’s way.

Boko Haram also tends to stay away from the tribe-based violence in northern and central Nigeria. This conflict is between nomadic herders and farmers over who controls land and water resources. This conflict was a growing source of violence even before Boko Haram violence appeared in 2004. For a few years (2015-17) Boko Haram was killing more people but since 2018 Boko Haram has declined while the farmer-herder violence has increased. Overall Nigeria has been suffering 400-500 deaths a month from the Islamic terrorists and tribal violence. Most of the dead are civilians. Because of all this violence in the north local and national government is losing control of much of the Moslem north. While that loss of control is seen as a national crisis, it is not as important as the oil fields in the far south, in the Niger River Delta. Security in the oil producing states gets far more attention than anywhere in the north. The semi-desert north has long been less prosperous than the moister south, with its oil, more rainfall and access to the sea.

September 1, 2020: In the northeast (Borno state) Boko Haram gunmen ambushed some soldiers while another Boko Haram group attacked an army base in the same area (Magumeri) near Lake Chad. At least twenty soldiers died plus a number of Islamic terrorists. Boko Haram was able to take their dead and wounded with them when they withdrew. There have been several Boko Haram attacks in the area in the last month. The army is vulnerable to these attacks but is also able to bring in reinforcements quickly. Often the air force has armed aircraft aloft in the area and these are directed to site of the Boko Haram clash and often cause the Islamic terrorists a lot of casualties and destroy vehicles Boko Haram uses to move around with and especially to get away from airstrikes. Neighboring Chad has encouraged Nigeria to use its air force more aggressively and effectively to find Boko Haram camps and go after them and keep going after these Islamic terrorist bases until the Islamic terrorists move somewhere else or fall apart because of the lack of base areas. Chad attributes the chronic and widespread corruption in the Nigerian security forces (military and police) for the inability to emulate Chad.

August 18, 2020: In the northeast (Borno state) soldiers escorted a convoy of trucks taking 1,200 refugees back to their homes in Kukawa (near Lake Chad) on August 2nd. Today Boko Haram raided the reoccupied town and kidnapped several hundred of the returned refugees and stole whatever they could find. Another Boko Haram group attacked the nearby army base that had been established to keep Boko Haram out of the areas. News of this attack gets back to the refugee camps in southern Borno state and discourage refugees from returning to their abandoned homes, businesses and farms in the north, especially near Lake Chad where Boko Haram is still present in sufficient numbers to keep the army on the defensive much of the time.
