I see far too many threads focusing on the differences between us and not enough celebrating our similarities. Let's start with the basic,cultural dance or folk dancing. This is something I love and I am passionate about. I'm not sure how many different nationalities there are here but let's all show case our heritage and see the similarities which I am sure there. Here are some from my end that I found on you tube now show me some of yours.Also I think alot here have warped ideas about Somali people and what they look like. We are different and don't all look like the picks that have been posted. It's africa afterall tell me what you think...

Yes I am most definitely for an free and Independent Somaliland and hope that one day we will be granted that.I can't tell you where these people are from and but a couple of girls that conversed in Somali(in another thread )had a southern dialect.However I will tell you not to generalize. People here are very quick to generalize. There are people with warped ideas everywhere as I have also experienced on this forum. Most the Somali's that are present on forum's online are always youngster's mostly teenager's. Rarely will you find someone older on forum's so that could be a reason why they are so willing to create a ruckus to get a reaction from people.

Are you judging the religion by the Quran(holy book)and Sunnah(teachings) of the prophet or by the followers of the religion. If you genuinely want to understand the religion then please do so by reading the scripts and understanding how they are meant to be understood and not putting your own twists on them and those of you that are posting quotes and verses please post them in context and complete after reading yourself and understanding. The same as what has been done here could be done with any religion however due to the ignorance surrounding Islam many accept negativity far easier about Islam without research.

For those of you feeling it necessary to insult Somali people because someone has insulted your people you just as bad as. them. If some troll wants to create chaos and bad blood between Somali's and other Africans then they should be ignored, not given the importance that you are giving them. These idiots don't represent my people. Myself and other Somali's I know are respectful loving people and I'm very disheartened by some of the posts I have read hear today from Nigerians.

Just want to say that as a Somali I can also answer questions and tell you more about my people. I don't hate my fellow brothers and sisters in Africa. In Fact I have nothing but love for them.
