Emefiele found that there's not much foreign reserve to defend the naira with, due to his corrupt employer's habits.
He's also decided to take what he can while he's there.
He knows he can't be an effective CBN governor with the mess on ground, so why bother ? The naira can go to hell.

the question is where are we going to get the power from? I have a laundry business that has been depending on generator for the past 1 year, we been running @ high cost. this is the problem when we have someone that is clueless @ the top. God save us.

Don't mind him.
He thinks inflation is a knee jerk response that happens in a second. In 6 months time we will all know what level we're all at.
Nigeria is in for it, there are no infrastructure on ground to mitigate this.
To say its bad for importers alone is just plain ignorant.

No serious owner of a business in this country can afford to make customer king.

Why ?

The would-be Nigerian consumer is a naturally wasteful person. Especially when you run an online based business.

They want to ask a million questions over phone, email..and woe betide that business owner if he has a portal on a free chat platform like bbm or whatsapp. Some repeatedly make appointments they hardly keep.

Even when you put up a website with all the info a customer needs to make an informed decision, they would still come back after visiting that site to repeat the same questions you've already addressed and expect you to put up with that.

When your business number is published on the web. You get calls, ordinarily this should be a good thing but the Nigerian consumer want to abuse this too. Some would flash you 50 times and expect you to call back.

A lot of them have never heard of courier services before, and if you dare suggest that option some immediately think you to be a scammer.
They expect, that outside Abuja, Lagos, and PH you must also have 'office' in every tiny local govt area in the country.

Some want you to send them tesxt msgs of your bank details, price lists, office locations...a lot of them will never use this info ! If you are not discerning, you can spend a small fortune as a professional SMS sender on a weekly basis. grin

And when you show a measure of firmness against all this wastefulness, they get offended. They tell you, "is this how you treat customers ?" That's when you have to remind them but you are not yet a customer until you've actually done business with us.

Having said all of the above, there are still a lot of good, considerate and business-like customers who are a joy to do business with.

Many years ago (I lived abroad) I once had a gf also called yetunde.

She was always pestering me to take her to NEXT when she came on holiday. Finally we went, as she was telling me buy her this dress and that shoe, she was also buying this tie, that shirt, that watch..

I paid for her stuff , while she paid for the men's shirts and I said " Oh baby, why you spending the little money you have on me ? I have all these things.. "

She said, "Oh don't worry, they're not for you.."

A few days later, she went back to Nigeria.

I was 'a learner' back then..

People were even going who ask my parents for my hand without my knowledge
I had on occasion been stopped on the road an d a woman is toasting me for her son in America
I didn't set out to attract suitors ,I was just being myself

@OP, don't let anyone tell you you're only 31. You're concern is quite appropriate. In fact, you should have started this thread like 3 years ago !

But ask yourself, why do you want to get married ? Have you answered that. Marriage is not for those waiting to be served but those ready to serve. Marriage is work.

Marriage is not for cheats, unfair or those waiting to take advantage of their better half. Marriage is not for unfulfilled or miserable types. Some women are just looking to make someone else more miserable than themselves so what do they do ? They get married !

Don't allow pressure form married friends and family to push you into marriage. Those married folks who make the most noise about your single status are actually going thru Hellish situations if you look closely.

Spend more time in Nigeria, travelling to UK all the time hasn't done you any good either. Nigerian men in London have wisened up about about this marriage issue not many are willing to get 'locked down' like before. They prefer to have white baby mommas from Poland and Romania, to marriage with a Nigerian girl.

Work on your 'local' image here, keep up your social life. You'll find him soon enough.

The answer to your question is not for very long! If you only knew the kind of damage you're doing to yourself internally by trying to deal with all that negativity.

From what I read, its clear what you should now do, please do it sooner and not later.

WhyMe222: Thanks everyone for your contributions. You have all spoken well. I love my wife and I love my daughter silly. I leave no stone unturned in taking care of my family cos that is the only reason I go out daily (To provide for them). Her friends are a testimony to my capability in taking care of her. Her colleagues in both her former work place and the present one all appreciate for her what she has in terms of her marriage and husband. So there is no gain saying I may not have been leaving up to my expectations as a hubby.

In the last 8 months I have tried to heal, I have tried to see how we can work around it, I have also tried living like it never happened. In all this, none seem to be working. I loved my wife and that is why I have made all these efforts but the torture I live through will never go away and for this singular reason I feel there is no need going on like this. At the moment, I am only tolerating her and that is not good for marriage; reason I said marriage is not meant to be endured. Can there ever be a time I will not remember the incident? Can there ever be a time I will laugh it off and not hurt instead? The sex is dead; No urge because she repulses me and there is no way I will think of S£X with her without remembering what they did. So how can one live in this manner?

God help me.

This is syndrome isn't peculiar to black youth alone.

The UK government also confirmed a similar trend with their own youth many years ago. None of these white kids want to enroll in formal education anymore. They all want to be indy-rockers, Tv personalities, DJs etc.

All the Unis there are overrun with Asians. They're the Doctors, engineers, lawyers even political offices are increasingly going to Blacks (Africans) and Asians.
