The 10th edition of the Headies award held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, but the award pretty much ended on a sour note after Mavin boss and YBNL boss got into a nasty fight because Lil Kesh of the YBNL lost the Next Rated Award for 2015 category to Reekado Banks of the Mavin which started a beef between the record label CEOs.

I think we the fans are begging for answers based on this beef...

Olamide, when his artist Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative act for his song, Shade
climbed the stage with his whole to address what he felt was an injustice to Lil Kesh, said some unpleasant things threw the mic on the floor and stomped off the stage and Don Jazz, who had been given a Special Recognition award at the end of his acceptance speech, urged Olamide to come take the car that came with the award in question.

1. Don Jazzy not making his beats, rather, he pays people to do it and take all the credit – as revealed by Olamide.

2. Headies Awards has been compromised
Going back to 2014 Headies, Reekado Banks won the Rookie of the Year award without having a song to be nominated with, but his input with Mavin Song - Dorobucci.

3. Olamide has let go of the fact that D’banj producer, Deevee accused him of stealing the Kokomaster's songs. This can be seen in how Olamide dragged D’banj into his rant?

4. Don Jazzy is an attention seeker who is not humble at all as he pose to be – as revealed by
Olamide.

5. Olamide actually care about the feelings of his fans. This seen in the way he was quick to apologize to them for his very unruly and unacceptable conduct at the awards.

Residents of Big Daddy Street in the Atinplome, Bagadry area of Lagos State on Tuesday stormed an uncompleted building in the area, which they suspected to be a ritual killer’s den, after a female victim raised the alarm.

It was learnt that at about 12am, while a carnival went on in the area, a woman in her late 20s, whose name had yet to be known, had run into the party with her throat partly cut, while blood was streaming out of her body.

The girl, who later became unconscious and rushed to hospital, had told the partying crowd that
an alfa, identified as Mallam Sheu, had tricked her into the uncompleted structure before slitting her throat with a knife.

The matter was said to have been reported at the Morogbo Police Division, and some policemen
came to the scene, but the alfa was said to have fled the uncompleted apartment.

It was learnt that in the morning, more residents thronged the area and they were said to have found bloodstains, old clothes, charms and ladies’ clothes inside the structure.

Speaking with PUNCH, a resident who identified herself as Mummy Eso, said youths in the area attempted to burn the den in the afternoon, thinking that the girl had died as a result of her injuries.

Mummy Eso added that the alfa did not stay in the area and nobody suspected that he used the place for evil purpose.

She said: “There was commotion in our area in the midnight when boys holding a street party saw the girl bleeding from the throat. The girl, who just managed to speak, pointed to the structure and said an alfa had attempted to kill her, but she managed to escape.

One of her hands had also been tampered with. So, the youths became furious and headed for the uncompleted building. Some policemen, who were also on guard duties at the carnival were informed about the incident and they went too. But information had got to the man, and he escaped before they could arrest him.

Since morning, people have been coming to the area to check the building. They attempted to burn it in the afternoon.”

Another resident, identified as Akeem Ajao, who visited the building, said the youths found old bloodstains, clothes and charms.

He said: “The lady ran into the carnival with blood streaming out of her body. One of those at the carnival saw her and came to her rescue. She said a man was in the house trying to slaughter her.

“We rushed the girl to a hospital, where she is now receiving treatment. We did not know that the alfa used the house to do evil works. The girl’s clothes were bloodstained. The police have also come to the area this morning.

“When I entered the house, I saw bloodstains, charms and a human bone was also in the man’s car – a Gulf 4 vehicle. It was the boys holding the carnival who noticed the girl.

“The girl’s neck was cut. Nobody knows the family of the girl involved. The man has run away from the area.”

It was gathered that the Alfa had been having an affair with the lady, before he took her to the building on the evening of the carnival. She comes to see him all the way from Igando area.

WhatsApp is no doubt one of the most widely used instant messaging services worldwide, and crossed 900 million monthly active users back in September. One of the features however missing from the Facebook-owned messaging app has been video call support, which gives an edge to competing apps such as Hangouts and Skype.


Leaked screenshots now tip that WhatsApp may soon receive video calling support. A German website has posted screenshots from WhatsApp for iOS that show an ongoing video call.



Based on the leaked screenshots, the WhatsApp video call interface appears to be similar to the voice call one, with green-dominated tabs. The leaked screenshots show that users will also get the option to mute as well as switch cameras while on video call.

According to the website, WhatsApp for iOS version 2.12.16.2 is being tested internally, and is the build that developers and beta testers are already testing video calling feature on. So far, there has been no word on video call support officially arriving to WhatsApp but speculation has it the feature may be rolled out early next year.

Apart from video calling, WhatsApp is also rumoured to be testing a multi-tab UI which will allow users to jump from one conversation to another without going back to the main chat list. Details about multi-tab support on WhatsApp are limited as of now.

To recall, WhatsApp started rolling out voice calling support back in March with Android users. This was later rolled out to other platforms including iOS, BlackBerry, and Windows Phones. We can expect the company to start video calling rollout somewhere during the same period next year. Notably, Facebook’s standalone Messenger app already supports video calls.

President Muhammadu Buharion Tuesday, Dec. 22 to a Joint Session of the National Assembly; read 17 important things the President said in his 2016 Budget speech.

1. By June 2014, oil prices averaged $112 per barrel. But as at today, the price is under $39 per barrel. This huge decline is having a painful effect on our economy. Consumption has declined at all levels. In both the private and public sectors, employers have struggled to meet their salary and other employee related obligations. The small business owners and traders have been particularly hard hit by this state of affairs.

2. Fellow Nigerians, the confidence of many might be shaken. However, I stand before you today promising that we will secure our country, rebuild our economy, and make the Federal Republic of Nigeria stronger than it has ever been.

3. The answers to our problems are not beyond us. They exist on our farmlands; our corporations; in the universities in the hearts and minds of our entrepreneurs; through the gallantry of our Armed Forces; and the resolute spirit of Nigerians, especially the youth, who have refused to give up despite all the obstacles confronting them.

4. This Budget proposal, the first by our Government, seeks to stimulate the economy, making it more competitive by focusing on infrastructural development; delivering inclusive growth; and prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians. We believe that this budget, while helping industry, commerce and investment to pick up, will as a matter of urgency, address the immediate problems of youth unemployment and the terrible living conditions of the extremely poor and vulnerable Nigerians.

5. In the medium to longer term, we remain committed to economic diversification through import substitution and export promotion. This will build resilience in our economy. It will guarantee that the problems we have today, will not confront our children and their children. This shall be our legacy for generations to come.

6. Despite the weak emerging MARKETgrowth rates, our domestic security challenges, declining oil prices, and the attendant difficulties in providing foreign exchange to meet market demands, the Nigerian economy grew by 2.84% in the third quarter of 2015.

7. We have, and will continue to implement strategies that will maintain macroeconomic stability and manage the oil price shocks we are experiencing.

8. Upon the inauguration of this administration on 29th May 2015, we engaged key stakeholders from various sectors of our economy and interfaced with the heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in order to understand the true state of our nation. What we found prompted us to take certain strategic decisions.

9. On the economy, we injected new leadership at the helm of our revenue generating agencies including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian COMMUNICATIONS Commission (NCC), and the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS). We implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which, so far, has provided greater visibility of Government revenues and cash flows. We intervened to support States to navigate their fiscal challenges by restructuring their commercial bank loans and by providing facilities to enable them to pay salary arrears.

10. We have demonstrated a strong will to fight corruption. I am sure you will agree that the sheer scale of corruption and impunity of the past explains in part, the economic challenges we now face. On these initiatives, and the many more to come, we shall not be deterred. We will pursue the recovery of everything that belongs to the people of Nigeria. No matter where it is hidden. No matter how long it will take.

11. Distinguished and honourable members of the National Assembly, I now present a review of the 2015 Budget. That Budget was based on a benchmark oil price of $53 per barrel, oil production of 2.28 million barrels per day and an exchange rate of N190 to the US$.

12. After reviewing the trends in the global oil industry, we have set a benchmark price of $38 per barrel and a production estimate of 2.2 million barrels per day for 2016. We have focused on non-oil revenues by broadening our tax base and improving the effectiveness of our revenue collecting agencies.

13. Also, with the full implementation of the Treasury Single Account, we expect significant improvements in the collection and remittance of independent revenues. To further support the drive for increased remittances, we will ensure that all MDAs present their budgets in advance, and remit their operating surpluses as required by section 22 of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

14. The 2016 budget, as outlined, is designed to ensure that we revive our economy, deliver inclusive growth to Nigerians and create a significant number of jobs.

15. We will invest in training our youths, through the revival of our technical and vocational institutions, to ensure they are competent enough to seize the opportunities that will arise from this economic revival.

16. Indeed, the future looks bright. And I ask that we all work together to make this vision a reality. The 223% year on year growth in capital expenditure demonstrates our desire to make Nigeria more competitive, and start the journey to deliver sustainable development in our country.

17. In fulfillment of our promise to run a lean government, we have proposed a 9% reduction in non-debt recurrent expenditure, from N2.59 trillion in the 2015 Budget to N2.35 trillion in 2016. Furthermore, we have budgeted N300 billion for Special Intervention Programs, which takes the total amount for non-debt recurrent expenditure to N2.65 trillion.

THREE policemen reportedly lost their lives yesterday when they went to foil an attempted kidnapping of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Rivers State Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Jerry Needam.
Needam who disclosed this in a statement commended the gallantry of the policemen deployed to rescue him during the attempted kidnap and alleged assassination attempt on his life.
He said one of the killed policemen was an Assistant Superintendent, ASP, adding that the policemen engaged the heavily armed assassins in a fierce gun battle for several hours.
Needam accused his political opponents of being behind the alleged attempt on his life.
While expressing gratitude to God for sparing his life, Needam said two of ther policemen and his security guard sustained bullet wounds during the incident and were receiving treatment at a hospital.
A text to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad from Vanguard for comment on the issue had not been responded to at press time.

Aero Contractors has issued a statement explaining why disembarking passengers had to use a ladder.

A special charter flight operated by Aero to Bauchi had problems with unserviceable equipment by the airport management in disembarking about 34 passengers from Abuja.

Consequently against the airline’s wish and operation safety guideline, the passengers used a ladder to disembark. However, at the time of boarding, the air stairs became functional and the passengers boarded successfully.

Aero wishes to state that it took adequate and safety measures for this operation, including the airport’s ground staff crew to handle the air stairs equipment in Bauchi.

Unfortunately, it became unserviceable at the point of disembarkation. Although the airline crew tried to calm down the passengers to wait while the equipment was being fixed, the passengers insisted on their own volition to disembark against all safety protocol of the airline.

Aero Contractors wishes to state that it is reviewing its safety measures with all charter operations to all airports to prevent such reoccurrence. Aero will continue to take adequate measures to ensure that its operations remain safe and secure.”
