A soldier allegedly shot and killed an unidentified woman in Effurun near Warri in Delta state today April 30th. According to ThisDay, the woman whose daughter was getting married at a place far from her house, boarded a tricycle to a relatives house close to the venue of the wedding.

According to reports, the tricycle operator arrived her home early enough to beat the movement restriction as the state was observing its monthly sanitation exercise.

As the woman and the tricycle operator approached Jakpa junction, they were flagged down by soldiers but for fear of being detained and dealt with, the tricycle operator refused to stop.

The soldiers opened fire, hitting the woman. The bullet pierced through under her left breast. Her body has been deposited at the morgue.

THE Fulani herdsmen and some of their petty-traders have deserted towns and villages in Enugu State, following the attack on Nimbo Community in Uzo Uwani Local Government Monday morning. Armed Fulani-herdsmen This was even as facts emerged that security men drafted to Nimbo to prevent the attack abandoned their duty posts, paving the way for the herdsmen to kill over 40 persons in the community. Some Fulani and Hausa who sold carrots, suya meat, sugar canes, onions, electronics as well as those engaged in nail cutting among other menial jobs have deserted the towns and villages and joined some herdsmen in the bushes around Amalla in Udenu Local Government and Umuogbo Agu and Ette border in Igboeze North Local Government areas of the state. The herdsmen had evacuated their cattle from Adani in Uzo Uwani and other parts of the state before the Monday’s attack, which led to the untimely death of over 40 people including a school teacher from Enugu Ezike, Igbo Eze North Local Government, residing in the area.

PoliticsUgwuanyi Reveals: I Alerted Security Operatives Before Fulani Herdsmen Attack by nairacoded(op): 3:41am On Apr 30, 2016
Following the slaughter of 46 Ukpabi, Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State natives last Monday, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on Friday, accused security agencies in the state of complicity despite assurances they gave him that planned attack will be forestalled.

Ugwuanyi made the accusation while speaking in an emotional laden tone during a news briefing at Government House attended by the Deputy Senate President, Ike

Ekweremadu,Deputy Governor,Cecila Ezeilo, all serving senators and House of Representatives members in the state.

The governor’s speech read in part:”On Sunday, April 24, by 7 pm, the night before this carnage took place, I got security information from Uzo-Uwani Local Government Transition Chairman, Hon. Cornell Onwubuya that such an incident was likely to take place in the state.

I immediately summoned a meeting of the State Security Council which commenced by 10 pm.

The meeting was attended by the following: Garrison Commander, Brigadier General Olufemi Akinjobi who normally represents the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army; the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nwodibo Ekechukwu; the State Director of Department State Security Services (DSS), Mr. M. Abdul Malik; the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Lar Stephen; Representatives of the Nigerian Air force, Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigerian Prison Services, who attended as observers.

“From the side of government were, myself, the Governor, the Deputy Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff, the Chairman, State Traditional Rulers Council and the Honourable Attorney General of the State.

“In the meeting, we received assurances from the Commissioner of Police that the Area Commander of SARS was on ground in Nimbo. That the Anti-Terrorism Unit was at Nimbo. That he was in contact with the Kogi State Commissioner of Police and reported suspected herdsmen grouping at Odolu in Kogi State preparatory for an attack on Nimbo and Abbi communities. That Police mobile force and conventional police were already drafted to Nimbo and Abbi communities. That he was in touch with the Area Commander, Idah, ACP Ikegwuonwu and had linked him with the Area Commander, Nsukka, ACP Monday Kuryas. Both men according to the CP reported that there were no traces of suspected herdsmen in Nsukka or Idah.

“That he ordered the Area Commander, Nsukka to redeploy to Nimbo. That the Garrison Commander on his part assured the meeting that Military was already deployed to Nimbo. Let me state that the State Government provided logistics for these deployments. After receiving these assurances of deployments to Nimbo, I felt quite confident that we had done everything possible to forestall an attack on Nimbo.”

“I have deliberately narrated what transpired at the Security Council meeting fully conscious of the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution pertaining to my oath of office. I am doing this in due discharge of my duties as Governor.

“Sadly, in the early hours of Monday reports of this carnage reached me. More disturbing was the report that the attack of innocent and defenceless citizens were carried out at about 6.30 am. Further reports available to me indicate that apart from the killing and maiming of innocent and defenceless citizens of Nimbo, a Church was also burnt. Following this development, I engaged the security agencies in order to ensure that the Nimbo area was secured from further attacks that might escalate the situation.

“I am at once, constituting a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the immediate and remote causes of all the violent occurrences in the State associated with suspected Fulani Herdsmen and recommend appropriate measures that will be put in place to prevent future occurrence.

“What happened between 6.30am and 7.30 am on Monday 25th April, 2016 despite assurances from the Security Agencies? Only the Security Agencies can answer this question”.

CelebritiesSee My Say On Tiwas/teebliz Marriage Issues....042report.com by nairacoded(op): 3:29am On Apr 30, 2016
After watching the 45 minutes video of tiwa where she addressed their marriage issues I will say this .

1. Teebliz was doing fine until he met tiwa and Tiwa took his shine , he became dependent on her and like most women they can't handle authority . She made him look small and trashed his ego . It may be by omission or commission from her .

2. Tiwa knew from the start that the marriage won't work but due to fear that he invested in her career she married him out of sympathy , regardless of his wayward ways . Like excessive alcohol intake , drug abuse etc ...

3. Teebliz did not know how to handle living within his means .

4. Tiwa may have slept with those people he accused her of but in the past before marriage . I believe her when she says I have never cheated on my husband .

5. There is more to the miscarriage issues , probably she has seen that the marriage was heading to divorce so she may have done away with the pregnancy and arranged a fake miscarriage .

6. Tiwa was already up to end the marriage the reason Teebliz wanted suicide because without her he is done financially . She is his life wire and keeper.

Finally , the lessons learnt from this is :

1. Every man should make sure he hustle to take of his wife or at least share the bills fifty fifty . Do not make the mistake of letting your wife pay the bills . You be damn after a while .

2 . Every woman must know the type of men they marry . If he is an alcoholic , drug user etc know that you court trouble in the future . And if he doesn't work , don't marry him .

CrimeDeath And Herdsmen: A Report On The Menace Of The Fulani Herdsmen by nairacoded(op): 8:40pm On Apr 29, 2016
In the early hours of Monday, April 25th, 2016, destruction was unleashed upon Ukpabi-Nimbo, a sleepy village in Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State. Scores of heavily armed Fulani herdsmen executed a ferocious attack on the community, killing dozens and seriously injuring a large number of others.
According to eye-witnesses, at least fifty people were killed, and about thirty seriously injured by the time the attack was over. Some witnesses who spoke to SBM Intelligence said that up to twenty corpses were taken to the morgue at Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka, while up to thirty wounded people, are currently receiving treatment.
What many do not know, however, is that the bloody incident could have been averted, if prompt and decisive action had been taken, according to reports from civil rights groups. We learnt that the villagers became apprehensive a week before, when they observed the movement of large numbers of armed-to-the-teeth Fulani herdsmen around the area. They informed Cornel Onwubuya, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Uzo-Uwani LGA, and also informed the state government and the leadership of the State Police Command. Onwubuya summoned an emergency stakeholders meeting at the Uzo Uwani Local Government where the leaders of the Hausa-Fulani in the community assured the natives that no such attack will take place. All these transpired to over the weekend last week and by Monday morning the attack happened anyway.
If the foregoing is accurate, then the authorities had prior information regarding the impending holocaust. The question is, what did the authorities do to avert the impending catastrophe? The answer is, next to nothing.
Sources in Ukpabi-Nimbo said the attack may not be unconnected with the vigilante response to destruction of farms in the community by the Fulani Herdsmen in the previous seasons, though they claim that they never killed any Fulani, and only stopped them from grazing on their lands. All this information was passed on to the police with no response.
This brings to the fore the question of how many other incidents have been forewarned about? Just days after the Enugu incident, there was another herdsmen attack, this time in Obiaruku, Delta State, less than three hours from Warri. Eight people have been confirmed missing from the attack and the community is searching for bodies to confirm if they are dead.
Over the last six years, there have been incidents in various states from Zamfara in the North-West, to Rivers, in the South-South. The bulk of these incidents have been in the Middle-Belt. It is important to look at the data on the attacks to get a sense of the difference in the recent escalations and what has historically occurred as farmer-herdsmen clashes. Between 1997 and 2010, there were a total of 18 reported attacks, with most of the attacks being in the North-East. However, the incident with the highest casualty count was in the Middle-Belt state of Plateau.

When we compare this with the four-year period between 2011 to 2015, we see a marked difference. In this time period, there were 371 incidents, with the bulk being in the Middle-Belt and North-West. By this time, the attacks had also reached the South-South and the South-East, with a sprinkling in the South-West, particularly in the westernmost parts of Oyo State.
In 2015, there were no attacks in the North East and North West. All the attacks were in the Middle-Belt and South-East, with a single incident in the South-West. Some of their stories were told in our October 2015 report, Terror In The Food Basket.
The total number of reported incidents between 1997 and 2015 was 461, with the vast majority occurring between 2011 and 2015, in the Middle-Belt, South-East and South-South. In 2015, it was recorded that there were more casualties from herdsmen violence than from Boko Haram. It clearly shows that the most potent threat to the existential continuity of the Nigerian state has shifted from Boko Haram to the rampaging Fulani herdsmen. In 2016, there have been twenty-one attacks that SBM Intelligence has been able to independently verify, with the number of victims stand between 526 and 820.

However, the response from the government and the security institutions do not show a clear understanding of this fact. Worse, they show a lack of will to pursue the protection of Nigerians from this threat as has been shown for the Boko Haram insurgency. This has emboldened the herdsmen and has won more and more to their cause. Success in their rampaging endeavours has granted increasing legitimacy to their methods amongst those who might have remained antagonistic to such violence within their ranks.
The scale, spread and frequency of the attacks, as well as the near methodical manner in which the communities are wiped out, pacified and the sequence in which it is being carried out speaks to a higher degree of planning and organisation than the government is willing to acknowledge. It is dangerous to refuse to acknowledge this, as our recent experience with Boko Haram has shown. It takes only a little nudge forward for what we see as marauders of civilian targets to begin to take on whole army formations. By then, it will be a lot more difficult to defeat them, at a considerable cost in men, finances and logistics to the Nigerian state.
It also speaks to the value placed on the Nigerian life by the government, where a group of people kills other Nigerians with impunity, openly justify the killings as retaliation for grievances of cattle theft and the government does little or nothing to punish the killers or put an end to the killings. The number one thing that legitimises a government is the ability to protect the life of its citizens.
A video obtained by SBM Intelligence showed boats of fully armed men crossing the River Benue en-route the Agatu attack. According to analysts consulted by us, the men in the video spoke Fulfude, Hausa, Gurma and Zarma, the last two being languages indigenous to Nigeria’s northern neighbour, the Republic of Niger. This lends weight to the belief that a lot of these attacks are being carried out by people foreign to Nigeria, and questions the ability of our security services to police our country, given how far inland this river crossing took place. The distance between the suspected crossing point and the nearest border crossing in Katsina is 802 km!
The video was made on the morning of the Agatu attack, by one of the attackers. The same man took part in the Logo attack two weeks later where he was killed and the video was found on a mobile phone retrieved from his body. That such a large body of armed men can move around within the country is an indictment on the security and intelligence services.
Something, beyond rhetoric, has to be done about these incessant attacks on peaceful natives going about their lawful duties, and it is only the authorities that can grant that succour to the people.

Ashinwo Oluwatosin was murdered yesterday night by her police lover because she refused to marry him and he is on the run as we speak as he's been declared wanted by the police . She was stabbed multiple times in the neck and armpit by this mad lover of hers .

Now my take :
Under no circumstances must you be in a relationship with an abuser and a cheat . A man who beat you , raise his voice on you , mal-handle you is not fit to be in a relationship with you . You must not condole it , ones he starts becoming violent to you in any way whatsoever that's the time to break the relationship. And Indian proverb says " A relationship that has become a burden need to be broken " .

If you know you won't marry the man , please do not collect anything from him because some men don't let go easily . They pay back and it may be fatal .

Lastly , when you see a man who is good and want to be with you do not think he is weak , he is just a man who loves you and do not think for a man to be violent and rude to you means he is a strong man , no a thousand times no ! Your mentality has been tampered with to believe so . Change it .Always insist how you want to be treated in a relationship , if he doesn't like it , then he should be your guest . Ladies be classy .

ARE YOU ASKING YOURSELF WHAT TO DO?

The questions above have been provided by WAEC to assist you understand the required standards expected in English Language final examination.

If you ask examiners they will tell you that a very substantial portion of essays marked are letters.Formal or informal. The obvious reason is that students tend to regard letter-writing as a way out as opposed to the monumental task of crafting other brain-bursting essays inside the exam hall.Is this due to ill preparation or laziness? Or is it due to examination tension and the temporary paralysis of the brain leading to inability to think of relevant points to put together for an impressionable score?

With reference to letter-writing it is one thing looking for the easiest way out and it is another eventually finding your self in a maze or getting caught like mouse in a trap! Our honest opinion is that most letters are mouse traps for students and their tutors need to let them know this. Why do we say so?

a.Letters are the most technical of all the essay forms!. There is a list of content that must be seen and included in certain ways without which students can lose substantial marks.

b.Letters hardly give examiners room for discretion or sympathy to students as in other forms of essay.

c.Students hardly feel compelled to study the finer details of what is required for letters. The usual attitude is that they have been writing letters for long and should be able to accumulate “enough” marks with lesser effort than would have been expended on other forms of essay.

d. The advent of e-mails and net writing (such as we are presently using for this write-up) have ensured that students commit more spelling and punctuation mistakes which they don’t even realize especially when writing informal letters!

OUR SUGGESTION?

i. pick one of the questions…

ii. remember the notes below

CONTENT OF INFORMAL LETTERS
What are the essentials of informal letter-writing? Is there a check list for tutors and students to use for doing fairly well in letter-writing? Please find below our humble submissions for informal letters.

1. Date.

2. Address of writer.

3.No designation of the addressee should be included.

4. Informal salutation such as Dear Daddy, Dear Uncle Wale or Dear Bobby
5.Don’t let your inquiry about health or well-being take more than a line. Some students often deceive themselves asking after the baby or the dog or even the fight their sister or mother had in the market a few months before the letter! All in a bid to accumulate enough words to meet the minimum number of words required. It is a wonder that students do not know or are not just prepared to know that such games are easily discoverable and promptly decoded with lesser marks.

6. A letter to a friend can be chatty and should reflect some measure of familiarity between two friends. Tutors should please spend more time in giving examples to students because this is their Achilles heel as they tend to let go of their guard-very merrily!

7. Long sentences are allowed and can predominate.Contracted forms such as weren’t, or don’t are also allowed

8. Avoid errors from grammar, punctuations and spellings as indicated in other posts

9. Balance the length of sentences and link your paragraphs.

10. Balance the number of sentences in each paragraph.

11. Apart from your introduction and conclusion use only 3-5 paragraphs with each expressing different ideas.

12. For conclusion restate the reason for writing.

13. For Yours sincerely, truly, lovingly etc those italicized words must start with a small letter.

14. No signature but first name of writer allowed.

15. Though colloqual expressions and slangs may be permitted know that they are very risky. Also be careful about using new acceptable words such as femme fatale which might be known and approved more by markers from urban areas of the country. Anyway, why risk words that are not likely to add more marks to your essay?

16. The tone should agree with the purpose of the letter. If it is for sympathy or condolence it should give comfort.Even if it is a complaint against certain behavior it should indicate disapproval of such behavior without betraying annoyance or anger of the writer.

iii. check past Q/A booklets for similar answers

iv. then write yours…that is, do your own work, learn from the mistakes you make along the way, and the world will be a better, brighter place for you,at least academically (WIKI)

Good luck.

What's your say on this :

Nollywood Actress Bares Breast in New Movie, Claims She Is A Devout Christian

A few weeks after photos of bare-breasted actresses from the set of an epic movie, hit the internet upcoming actresses Peace Maria Francis has defended their act, saying it was all about the profession.
In an exclusive interview with Nollywood Insider ,Peace, who hails from Akwa Ibom state appealed to her fans and movie enthusiasts
“Show me love and appreciation, and not condemnation. This is about my profession and I want to express myself better as it should be done, in my acting career.”“My manager got it for me. He told me about the job and I agreed to take part in it. I wasn’t forced to do it.
It is all because I wanted to use it to tell the real story of what happened back then in our country, Nigeria. It is also in a bid to tell our younger ones how we started back then, and the only way to do that, is to express it in a professional manner. That is what I am in the industry to do; tell people the real story and interpret such roles very well, for their better understanding and enjoyment.”” As a professional actor I do take risk. For I take enormous pride when people call me an actor. This means and shows how serious I take my job. It is a sign of the sacrifice and effort I put in it to make my acts have some sense of reality, while sending good messages to our people, “
She continued
“I am a Christian, for crying out loud. I fear God and worship him as best as I can. But would that stop me from doing my job? I think that shouldn’t.Some ask how much I was paid to expose my body like that. Others want to know ask why I did it. They say I am desperate and a paid prostitute.
All I want them to know is that I am just a good actor, who takes her job with the seriousness it deserves. I only played the character given to me and interpret the role well. I’m not here for fame or money. I really love my job. I do it professionally. I went into acting because I love it. That’s the only thing I do that gives me joy. I am here to make a difference. It’s about my passion.”
She summed it up, saying,
“Let the world know that it is not easy for anyone to come out and change his or her identity, in order to make films look real. The world should be more supportive than criticising us.
They always want Nollywood to give them good movies but if there are no good actors, there would be no good movie. Why are Nigerians not watching Nollywood movies again and prefer Mexican and Hollywood films? Is it not because they are tired of what we act and produce? Yes. They feel we are lacking behind. This is what we are trying to correct and save our dying film industry. Here, I promise my fans, that I would not disappoint them. It is not about S*X but good acting.
