The mathematics of combining Atiku and Obi's votes may be wrong. Many people that voted for Obi will never vote for Atiku and vice versa. Make we just cross hands dey look shaaaa On the other hand, if this is true, Labour Party will just die a natural death. Abure and co will see that they're nothing, without PO. |
People shouldn't joke with all these |

In a democratic Country like Nigeria, voting is a civic right, not a forced duty. Jailing someone for not voting undermines personal liberty which is a core democratic value. When politicians rig elections, bribe voters, intimidate opponents, or falsify results, they are actively destroying the democratic process. If politicians face no consequences for destroying the democratic process, the citizens will lose faith in the system, thereby not voting during elections. Jailing non-voters punishes powerlessness, jailing corrupt politicians punishes abuse of power... The later like the writer rightly pointed out, deserves the punishment, not the former. |

My friend told me the church where they worship today in Bolton used to be a Roman Catholic Church, but RCCG has taken over the big auditorium because the Catholics seems to have deserted the Church. All those Catholic saints images on the window glasses are still there till today. |
Fsboperator3:See reasoning... Why should we protest against IPOB? Are we paying them to secure our lives and properties like we do to the Government? |
jumper524:I've heard another one... So we have naira subsidy just like fuel? Nothing I won't here for this forum. Pobem ![]() |
Nazgul:Some people are been sentimental because Church is involved. To help answer this question, let look at it this way. Someone is sick on nairaland and requested of Seun to help him raise funds from nairalanders... Seun obliged. After donations, N760,000 was realized whereas the guy needs only N245,000. Is it justifiable for Seun to give him just the 245k he needed and keep the rest in "nairaland account?" The answer to this question is the answer to your question. |

From all indications, your heart is somewhere already. If I were you, I'll stick to that secondary school job as if my life depends on it. The increase in salary shows that you're making progress and it'll be hard for them to lay you off. Most private Universities especially those with pay range 40 to 80k are prone to owe salaries. You get extra 150k every year from the secondary school, extra 58k every month. Why will you trade all these add-ons for 88k job that is not even secured? It would have been a different case if it had been a State of Federal University. My take: Stay with the secondary school, start your PhD and then along the line or after your PhD, you'll pursue for a lecturing job in a well deserving University. Good luck! |
I was about saying this Government is growing after reading almost the whole speech without seeing a blame game. Unfortunately, I got disappointed at the tail end where the previous Government was blamed for the failure of this present Government. Again, someone preaching seeing ourselves as Nigerians first before any other things is the same person that mebtioned to the whole world on international TV that he won't treat the people that gave him 97% of their votes the same as the people that gave him 5% of their votes. Tell me what moral justification has one to talk about "TOGETHER" when the same person made it clear that we are not together? Last but not the least, in trying to justify the Nigerian oil price, he asked "it makes no sense for oil price be cheaper in Nigeria than in Saudi Arabia?" Someone should please let him know that minimum wage in Nigeria was recently fought for to get to #30,000 whereas that of Saudi Arabia is at #305,000. Meaning Nigeria's minimum wage is approximately 10% of that of Saudi Arabia. It would make more sense for oil to sell at #16.8 per liter as that is 10% of oil price of Saudi Arabia who sells at #168 per liter. Let me not talk about the speech preaching moving forward but yet dwelling on the past at the same time. Still no sight for hope in this country with this Government, this speech has made it more obvious. |
Mattressdoctor:Please open a thread on this matterress thing... Many people will be interested just like I am. |
My friend was about rejoicing for a taxi man that gave birth after two years of studying abroad in a lonely path at night. I wasn't moved when I heard the story inside the toilet of one fast food around Ikeja mile 2 oshodi. Even though I've been to Lagos once, I think cooking with Maggi will be more distasteful than slapping a little innocent child that can't even defend herself. It's Independence of one country while some other countries can't count how many girls that are ready to get married this year even in a football team. At 60, confused as the above. Thank you, more |
You spent money that doesn't belong to you and still get mind to say it's not your fault... You're funny. So, since February till now you have not rallied around to see how to get money to pay back? They gave you option to work for one month is because they wanted to help you. But as it seems now, there's no space for you so you should return the money. Mind you, everybody get their own problem. You're not the only one having issues with school fees whatever. Your company never said they'll pay acceptance fee for you. The worst part is that you're not even remorseful rather you're trying to prove you're right with your actions. Last word, find a way and pay back their money. |
Even as a Christian, I always discuss religious beliefs before going into marriage. I guess it's one of the reasons I'm not yet married. ![]() The last elegant beautiful soul I proposed to accepted but insists we must wed in Roman Catholic. I suggested otherwise. I told her we must wed in my own church (Anglican), thereafter, she can continue with her Roman Catholic (a condition I won't give to any other person). She said her family won't allow that. That's was how we didn't get to settle. These days, before I ask your name, I ask your church first. Once you're a Roman Catholic, I will back out. If you believe your church is the best, nothing concern me and you. Back to topic, the killing happened because they didn't discuss the religious entanglement before the marriage. |
Happy birthday to this beautiful woman. She appears to be beautiful in heart too. |

At least they got something. Good fight. All these DISCOs that billed unmetered users on R2 over 13k instead of the usual 1,900 as the cap set by NERC, will they reverse that last month bill now? |

Wow! Hotel don get freelancers? Abeg make them no spoil our parole for us. Runs na runs, it has got nothing to do with freelancing. Freelancing jobs are not done with the body, but by skills. |

Barcelona just acted like Nigerian Private owned companies. When they throw you out, they do it without conscience and not minding the great feats you achieved with/for them. But when you chose to leave even in a more honorable way, they feel you are doing the wrong way. This action shows they can even throw Messi out just like that after using him. Good thing is the guy already sensed this; reason why he wanted to leave. Messi just got this season with Barcelona, no amount of money can turn it around.
