Congrats Afelouz. I celebrate with you.

I also have an update.
So a scan today confirmed I had lost my 12 weeks, 3 days old pregnancy.
So, I guess this is where this present birthing journey ends for me for now.
But it isn't over.

I don't know what use my visa will be of if it is eventually approved, its been since January and no invitation for interview yet.

Ideas are welcome.

Thank you all.

Hello all.
It has been way past 21 working days since I submitted and I still have not gotten an invitation for interview or any feedback.
The reply to an enquiry mail sent to the embassy asks me to be patient.

Please is there any one who submitted in early January who is yet to be invited for the interview?

It MUST end in praise just for his name sake.

Oh imagine, and I stressed notarising form.
Pls how much did you pay for the minor? Is it same 36k cos I know some countries like Italy usually give a reduced cost (Child is below 1year o). Pls respond as I intend paying on Monday.

Surprisingly the Stanbic Bank hubby went to in Apapa don’t know they are the recipient for Brazilian visa fee so I guess, the guy was even requesting to see where their bank was mentioned.

I’ll guess i’ll just go to any VI branch and make my payment
It is the same amount per applicant irrespective of age.
Yes a knowledge gap does exist with STANBIC IBTC tellers as I encountered same.
What matters is that you pay into the Brazil Consulate's account with the applicant name and get a teller which you will include in your application.

Chikina.

Gods grace

So I wrote them a mail and they have sent me the forms. Not deleting the chat incase someone else needs this tomorrow, just send them an email. Gracias.
Thanks for this, it is stated on their site (but I guess that may be if the minor is not your offspring) or you aren't the one accompanying them...I may be wrong

Well, I applied with my kid who is a minor.
I sent out an email requesting the parental consent form to the embassy but they did not reply.

So I jejely applied with just her birth certificate based on advice from veterans here since I am her parent.
I submitted with the original birth certificate too and the guys there didn't talk about the parental consent form.

But it is good you got the form.
I wonder why they haven't made it readily available on their website.

Anyways, Na God get power.

i finally got to the last page of the thread but I don’t know if I missed this part (if it has been responded to before) but I just want to be sure:

Please if applying this February and putting June or July as when I want to visit, will that seem too far or do you advice I put a closer date for visit like April for Easter? And can I choose to travel on a later date if I do.
put April for instance.

2ndly, what’s the maximum number of days advised not to exceed when filling the form as a tourist? Is 6weeks too much? Or we should just stick to 12/15days?

Thank you.
Salvage7:
Gurus please!
My 50kobo thoughts on this.
As a thumb rule based on the USA and UK visitors visa application, I believe it is safest to apply for a visitors visa not more than 3-4months in advance.
Apply in February for a trip in May.

If I am a visa officer, I'd be concerned that you are applying for a visa in February when you intend to travel in November.
It won't look like you being organized to me but rather like there is a hidden intent.

Then for the duration of your holiday.
Even Bank MDs are entitled to only 25 working day leaves.
I guess the President has about the same number of days too.
So why will an employee holiday in another man's country for 6 weeks.
Even an entrepreneur like Dangote won't even.

Time is money
And time in a foreign country is more money to be burnt by you.
The visa officers must not have a reason to disbelieve your motive.

Well unless you are an investor seeking raw materials in the Amazon or you'd be undergoing a medical procedure on your spinal cord.
6 weeks looks overrrrrrlllllly fishy to me.

It is safest to leave it at 10 - 12days.
That was the range I used and the range I have used in my other applications.

(Remember these are all theoretical, once your visa is in your hand, you call your shots)
But like they say, stoop to conquer.

Good luck.
I hope my 50kobo thought on this equals the 2cents of the true gurus.

If you're going for birthing no need to panic, it's a blessing in disguise by the time the visa comes you will be half way through already even if you give birth at the airport your child will still be brazillian grin... It will end in praises
#you think you're doing me you're doing yourself gringrin
Amen, amen and amen.
I tap into this prophesy with my 2 hands and my two legs and all of my heart.

Chriscole with the ginger.
I'm happy you are settled in...it feels almost seamless.
I guess you are using AIRBNB for accommodation.
Thanks for the headstart on RoyalAirMaroc.
Also happy to know you didn't experience any hassles with the Entry Clearance Officers at the Airport.
God bless Brazil for us.

AyaFany:
Hello to all the experienced applicants on this great platform (Adjo10, Chriscole,Techspot etc)

Please is it possible we apply for tourism as a family (hubby, wife and child) online and only my hubby goes to the embassy to submit our application?
Or do we all have to go together?
I will advice you go yourself instead of your husband.(you are actually the crux of the matter grin grin)
Better still, you and him can go.
But don't stress your child. I didn't go with mine, neither did my husband come with me.
It is just submission.
But I met a couple applying as a family.. They came without their kids.

Just submit and wait till you are invited for an interview.
The Visa Officer will decide whom amongst the 3 of you they want present at the interview.

Lovetterrison, this should also address a part of your questions.
You can attach a marriage certificate but your itinerary letter should explain that vital information.

Nice one Namae. Every visa interview i have ever attended (for various countries); (thank God i don’t have to attend any of them anymore), I have come to the sad realisation that the rudest people are our fellow Africans at the gate or receiving applications in this case.

This is super ironic because, their attitude is the direct opposite of how Brazilians behave in general. Brazilians are one of nicest people on the planet and these guys at the gate have actually never been to Brazil before trust me.

Nice story. Cheers
Thank you Adjo10.
You have been a great inspiration.

Thank you.

Please can you help with required documents to be uploaded in the application. Pls
iwanvisityankee:
@Adjo10,
Regarding the document upload, since one has hard copies of all the required documents, which document among them need to be uploaded. Thanks
The required documents are on the Lagos website.
But for me I uploaded,
Passport
Statement of Purpose
Bank account reference letter
Marriage certificate
Employment letter
Pay slips
International passport
Hotel reservation
Flight tickets
Signature

That was it for me.

I hope this helps.
Horlaarsco:
I think what they mean is get the visa but you can still stay in Nigeria, the visa takes like 1 year to expire if you don't use.. Then you can now go to the country when heavy, it starts reading as soo. As you get there... Abi my bosses no be so??
You are very correct Horlaarsco.
Kingsmum the 3 month visa has multiple entries and can be extended by another 3 months upon expiry in Brazil.
After which you now pay fines for visa overstaying when you've birthed and are getting the Permanent Residence.

May God give us his favour, because only him can do it.

I will advise her not to state any value. I don't think it's necessary at'all.
Thank you Afelouz, she did just that and will be submitting by early February.
This thread seems a bit dull, so let me share my application submissiom experiences.
Who knows, it may be of importance to prospective applicants.

At the embassy, we were about 8 when I got there.
I saw a guy sent back with all his documents. I can't tell what his offence was, but I overheard someone say "why e no upload them"?

Then another was called in.
He walked in without any document but came out with a parcel of documents.
I don't know if it was his visa he came to pick or something.

Then another and another.

To get firsthand aproko and have a good view of where the guys who receive applications sat, I walked to the Mopol and asked if I could open and lick my TomTom because I had a cold, he looked at me like didn't you see the instruction at the gate that foods are not allowed in here?
I kukuma respected myself and sat in the settee facing the application area.

Mission accomplished but it was of no much use as I could only hear their voices and not see so much.

Then it got to my turn,
I went in.
Met the guy who receives applications who asked in an obviously fake Portuguese accent if I had uploaded all my documents. I answered in the affirmative.
He then asked for my package.
I handed them over.
NOTE: he gave a verrrrrrrrrrry detailed glance at my super flat tummy before he offered me a seat.

(I didn't see him minute anything on my file) but I saw the other guy writing something on the application of the lady who had just left before I came in.
So maybe they write after you have left now?

He used like a barcode scanner to scan my application and it populated my details, he scanned through and that was about it.
He returned my employment letter, promotion letter and my birth certificate.
He then told me the process could take as long as 21 working days and I will be contacted via email.

Now here is the enlightening part.

While I was there.
The other guy called in a couple. Husband was principal applicant but dude was asking why the wife did not have her payslips and all too.
He even asked for a letter from their kids school
He made a fuss about this and the madam's letter

I'm not a visa officer sha, but those couples looked like the tourist type..the husband wasn't having any of that and explained to the guy that the embassy website did not indicate those requirements and that he had visited several countries with his family and not once have they been asked of this by anyone and had always gotten his visa.
He said he stuck to the requirements on the site and got all.
He also said he is the primary applicant..that he explained that in the cover letter.
The guy seemed to mellow down after learning that the man wasn't a rookie in taking his family around for a good time.

Like I read here, the naija guys there are soooooooooo unwelcoming, they make everything appear difficult and are outrightly repugnant.
BUT it does help to point out some facts to them when they get overzealous.

Please don't go like a coward.
Or go like someone who is being helped.
Go like someone who has no care in the world but to make themselves happy.
It works wonders.

NB. I travelled alone
Hubby could not come with me due to work engagement.
The guy didn't even ask of him.
The guy who attended to me is a beardganger.
He seems like the better of the two devils, try to get him to attend to you if you can.

If I remember anything, I'd share.
This thread has been a helper, please more people should share their experiences.

Hello Mama Adjo10
Hello Afelouz
Hello TechSpot
Hello ChrisCole and other veterans.
God bless you all for all the guidance.
I submitted on Tuesday.
The wait now begins.

A colleague of mine who is still a Nairaland guest wanted to know if it was okay to state 1.450million as budget for her family of 4 who plan on visiting for 9 days in her Itinerary letter.
Will this be okay for them.
Flight, feeding, accom and tours.

I personally did not state how much I intended spending. I just wrote that my savings account had so, so and so. And I intended to foot my travel bills from there.
I told her this but she wants to state a value.

Veterans please advice.
Thank you all in advance.

chriscole:
Its not really important just fill it as TechSpot suggested...and keep an eye on your mail good luck
TechSpot:
Your name/Alias or c/o. and phone number of that person but you can leave it blank.

They usually contact through email so I don't think this part is really important
Thank you so much.

Good day to the great veterans and already successfuls.
Adjo10, Samuelsoma,TechSpot, Afelouz,ChrisCole and others too many to mention. Special thanks once again to all of you.

I applied 4days but just to be certain

Please what do I fill in the highlighted area so as not to make any mistakes?
Should it be the details of my Next Of kin?

Thank you brother, thank you TechSpot too.
May God give us all great favour.
I took your advice and we are all applying as a family. Sad thing is that our airline reservation expires in a few days but info on this thread says it doesn't matter.

I need to know from you and others are already there as no one has talked about it here.

Do the entry officers have any reservations about coming in with an open flight ticket or one with a longer duration than the number of days stated in your visa application.

Or should we just come in with a return ticket reflecting our supposed days of holiday which is 9 days.

Thank you once again.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by Namae: 9:50am On Jan 13, 2020
Samuelsoma:
Namae,
For 1st question, if you intend to apply for PR or citizenship for your other kids, then you have to take them along, it is compulsory to have them there physically if you intend to get any document for them. So please apply for visa for them.

2nd question, I think you should be able to get someone to submit in person for you. If you have friends or relatives in Lagos you can send down to them and let them submit the documents in person for you at the embassy and pls get your application done ASAP.

3rd question, Well I feel relocating all depends on you, since both of you have good jobs in Nigeria then you both have to plan it and see what works out best for you. For some couples, the wife and kids might decide to relocate first and while the wife is in Brazil trying to surf for jobs and all, the husband who has a very good job in naija will be supporting them in brazil and little by little things get sorted out and some others may decide to move once and for all,so it all depends on you guys, what you want and how what you want it, but just get your PR first and get your kids their citizenship/PR too, thats the main thing. Goodluck

4th question, the parent consent form isnt on the lagos embassy website, so maybe you can send a mail to the embassy to ask them about it and pls if there is anyone here that knows how to go about that should kindly advice her on it.

Cheers
God bless you.
This is very helpful and does indeed answer all my questions.
I am extremely grateful.
Do remain blessed.

MA'AM THERE IS A RULE HERE BEFORE YOU ASK ANY QUESTION ENSURE YOU READ PAGE 1 TO 44 THANK YOU!!!
I'd never understand why some people make everything seem very difficult.
Adjo10 has greatly helped people with her knowledge, freely dishing them even when unsolicited. You can see a genuine happiness to liberate others.

Yet others on this thread who are less committed to helping people but more concerned about showing off how informed they are readily jump out like class prefects to prevent further enlightenment.

Aside my question 1,
Please can you show me ANYWHERE on all 44pages of this thread where questions 2, 3 and 4 of mine were answered as those were specifics to my case?

To think that just in December you too were asking dumb questions about language and jobs.
I guess you hadn't created your selfish Rule of reading from page 1-44 then?

Please Juliusocean, if you do not have my answers or do not want to help, kindly go back to selling maps to tourists in Togo while praying that your asylum is granted rather than make every one who asks for guidance appear lazy to read.

Afelouz got his visa yet asked a few more questions...does that mean he didn't read?

I specifically did not call you to help considering your haughtiness and penchance to scorn others; something you and a few others have not even tried to hide all through this thread.

Chriscole any news?
Have you gotten your visa..Please keep us updated
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by Namae:
Good job Adjo10, Brexiteer, afelouz, techspot, shallypop and others
Quick question.
I and my spouse plan to visit while our 2 other kids who are under 10 years stay back in Nigeria.
So that our new baby gets the citizenship and myself and hubby the PR.
But we will return to Naija after this due to our works

My questions are these,.

1). Are our children in Nigeria eligible for the citizenship or must they be physically present in Brazil at the time?

Please advice so I know if to apply for them too as i am starting my application right away.
Do you advice I go with all of them considering that I will be alone after a while as hubby needs to go back to work.

Or I just focus on the new one, since I can't go with a nanny.
I know it must end in praise sha.

2). I am only 8weeks gone and very "invisible".
Can we mail in our application and wait to be invited since we don't live in Lagos or should we travel down to Lagos just to submit and possibly still get invited again as we live in Cross river which is such a distance for a double trip..

I'm also asking so as to know how to start planning permission to be off work.

3). Better still,
Considering you are already there and well experienced,
will you advice myself and hubby to totally relocate...it's been our life long dream just for the kids to have a better life, we have quite good jobs here in Naija.
Wondering if it be a worthy risk ditching our sought-after jobs to chart this new course?

Finally,

4). How do I get the parent consent form for the minor who will be applying as it is not on their site.

Thank you
