Hello Everyone,

I'm thanking God for the smooth entry I had last Saturday. Houston was to be my POE but after reading all d horrible stories at Houston poe, I decided to reroute my flight through Newyork. I arrived JFK airport and went straight to d rest room to freshen up. I met the immigration officer and we had the below discussion;

Me: Hello (pushing my passport to the guy)
POE: How long are you here for?
Me: 2 months
POE: what's d purpose of ur visit
Me: vacation and to have my baby
POE: (flipping through all d pages of my passports). Where is your husband?
Me: He's in Nigeria
POE:.Is he going to join you later?
Me: No, his schedule is very tight. Not sure he'll be able to make it
POE: Do you have your doctor's appointment letter?
ME: yeah, what i've got is d communication I had with the doctor (handed him the email trail).
POE: How much cash do you have on you?
Me: 9,350 dollars
POE: (Nodding his head). Do you have any other currency?
Me: Nope.
He then stamped me in.
I was very lucky that no one checked or asked what I had in my suit cases as one of my bags contained food items...Almost 25 kg!
I called Dr. Fagbohun and had my first appointment with him last Monday.
Thanks fellow nairalanders for the useful information on this thread.

Anonymousmum, I got an accommodation in Sugarland o. They still have one room left. The package includes transportation and feeding. There is a spare car if you choose to drive. I'm also using Dr. Fagbohun. Let me know if u are still in need of accommodation.

Congrats, MerryMom. These guys at the POEs are not smiling at all. Our God has gone ahead of them. They have no choice. We must come back testifying. There shall be no loss at all. Some of there questions are so irrelevant! God abeg o.

Hi GenoMI, I am o. Please let me know the plans. I need somewhere close to the hospital as I would be alone. Did you hear about the Precious Cedars lady? I spoke with her already and she sent me some pics of her apartments...
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Naniakay: 11:24am On Oct 23, 2014
Hello Lisamaris, when would you be travelling? I'm Houston bound too and travelling in December. I'm still checking on accommodation. I have checked with a lady who owns Precious Cedars where they take care of your accommodation, transportation and feeding. Has anyone used them? I read about them in a previous post but no detailed info has been released yet. Please help a sister in need o. Any useful info on cheap accommodation around Oakbend will be highly appreciated.

Hello Beautiful Naija Mums, i've been following this discussion for the past 1 month without uttering a word. I must say i'm really pleased with the way genuine info is released here. I hv gained alot! I'm new here and also expecting an American baby. I wld be travelling to Houston in Dec as baby comes in Jan next year. I intend using Dr. Fagboun. I called to book an appointment but they said I cant till I arrive in Houston. Isn't this going to pose any problem at the POE? Pardon me of this question has already bn addressed please. My second question is abt my visa. I went to d embassy for a renewal. The lady only asked for d State I would be travelling to and that ended the interview. After reading some posts here on d importance of declaring ur intention, I sent a mail to the embassy a week ago but there is no response till now. I've called several times but no response still. I'm not based at home (Naija) but in one of the neighbouring countries. Pls I need ur advice. Many thanks in advance.
