Monday Gift has been on fire for Tenerife this season and this has put her at number 5 position on the scorers' chart with 10 goals (Edna Imade is in 2nd position).
chidiokay: You are pushing a context of relationship, i have never seen wole soyinka ... but if asked do you know wole soyinka will i say NO
Atiku does not need to deny knowing Sanwo olu, ordinarily no one expect a r/ship btwn the two sef ... adding i dont know Sanwo olu makes the case more suspicious
thats for me
You are the person that is taking things out of context.
The context is that there's a story that says that Sanwo-Olu gave money to Peter Obi and Atiku for their 2023 presidential campaigns. It says that he sent the money through Aisha Achimugu.
In that context, the word know, as used by Atiku, means a relationship. It means knowing the person, not knowing of the person. Those are two different things.
🗣️ “Coming here was one of the best decisions I've made in my career. I started out as a fighter, but now I feel like a true warrior, a more advanced version of myself.”
🗣️ “This has been a place I'll always call home. Sergio Batista and the rest of the board have helped me a lot, and I'm very grateful. They helped me improve, giving me their time and effort to help me grow as a footballer. I'll always be a warrior.”
Washington Spirit Signs Star Nigerian Forward Gift Monday
Washington Spirit | March 25, 2025
Monday transfers to NWSL from UD Tenerife of Spain’s Liga F
Washington, D.C. (03/25/2025) – The Washington Spirit has signed Nigerian forward Gift Monday to a three-year deal with a 2028 team option in a transfer from Spain’s UD Tenerife, the clubs announced today. The move involved a transfer fee paid to UD Tenerife by the Spirit.
“Gift has unique qualities as a forward and will add a new layer to our attacking third,” said Head Coach Jonathan Giráldez. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team in the near future.”
A talented young forward, Monday joins the Spirit after two and a half years with UD Tenerife. Playing over 65 matches with the side, Monday tallied 26 goal contributions across nearly 4,500 minutes of action. Prior to her time with Tenerife in Spain, Monday played for Nigeria’s FC Robo and COD United Amazons. At the international level, the forward made her senior debut for Nigeria in 2019 and was named to the federation’s 23-player roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“I am excited to join the Washington Spirit family as I have long wanted to play for the club,” said Monday. “I can’t wait to start living the dream with the Spirit!”
The Spirit recently kicked off the team’s 2025 campaign by winning the second trophy in club history in the annual NWSL Challenge Cup earlier this month against the Orlando Pride and by setting a new club home opener attendance record last weekend with its third consecutive sellout at Audi Field.

People's Gazette published a strange story that Governor Sanwo-Olu was in trouble because President Tinubu discovered that he and others sent money to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, through Aisha Achimugu, for their 2023 election campaign.

Halt this @officialABAT's Voyage of Misdaventure and Campaign of Calumny Against @atiku
We at Atiku Media Office have taken note of reports in a section of the media that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu through Ms Aisha Achimugu made available to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, Vice President of Nigeria, 1999-2007 money purportedly belonging to Lagos State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is also credited with investigating the matter.
Let it be known, that this is a blatant lie from the pit of hell; a contrived political hogwash, and a futile campaign of calumny aimed at advancing the political interests of President Bola A. Tinubu.
It may interest Nigerians to note that the Waziri of Adamawa does not know Gov. Sanwo-Olu and indeed has never met him before.
This piece of kindergarten propaganda is beneath the camp of Tinubu. How is it possible for an Atiku that does not know and had no connection with Sanwo-Olu to be having a transaction with him involving the exchange of money - let alone during the Presidential election of 2023 in which his boss was a contestant? To what end would that be?
We wish to, therefore, state emphatically and for the record that it is a political hatchet job aimed at providing a much-needed justification to jettison Governor Sanwo-Olu, who appears to have fallen out of favour with the "Bourdillon Cult."
Indeed, their strategy is two-fold: get rid of Sanwo-Olu and to discredit the coalition being put together by the opposition political leaders, of which Atiku Abubakar is a key stakeholder.
To even underscore how poor the propaganda is, an unnamed Sanwo-Olu's aide is quoted in the news story trashing his principal and adding fuel to the fire. Pray, who does that?
Since the EFCC has been dragged into the arena of politics and propaganda, we challenge the anti-corruption agency to make public the outcome of its alleged investigation.
It is not just the President that is entitled to that information but the generality of the Nigerian public, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party's Presidential flag bearer in the 2023 election, Peter Obi.
This voyage of misadventure and campaign of calumny against the person and reputation of Atiku Abubakar must be halted immediately and with alacrity, too.

Louis Armstrong Okeke, known as "Super Armstrong of Africa," was a Nigerian professional wrestler who held the heavyweight title in the late 1990s. Here's a bit more about him: Nickname: "Super Armstrong of Africa" Wrestling Career: He was a heavyweight wrestler in Nigeria's professional wrestling scene in the late 1990s. Title: He held the heavyweight title in Nigeria.
That was in the 1990s. He came after the wrestlers that I wrote about. This thread is about wrestling legends of the 1970s and 1980s.
naptu2: Do you remember British wrestling from the 1970s? Mick McManus and co? The weird (actually, just different from American) rules made it very interesting.
Well, this is one of the wrestlers from British wrestling that actually came to Nigeria. In fact, the fascinating thing here is that, in this video, he is billed as being from Lagos, Nigeria. When he came to Nigeria he was billed as being from the West Indies, while Wikipedia claims that he is British.
This is Johnny Kwango (the guy with the phenomenal headbutt).
