Okpebholo Updates @OkpebholoUpdate

I had the honor of visiting His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State @jidesanwoolu, alongside my partner, the Deputy Governor-elect. During our meeting, I took the opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for his unwavering support during our election on September 21st. There's something missing on this thread. Unfortunately this is the best that I can do to correct the situation.

You can't have a thread about John Chukwu without having a picture of him in evening attire. You need to have a picture of him in a tuxedo with bow tie, etc.

This is the best that I can do. It is the cover of a book about John Chukwu.

(I hope the picture will attach to the post).

John Chukwu is a great comedian during his life time.
I can't forget one of his joke wherein he used his initial JC to crack a joke. He talks about great people that had graced the surface of the earth. He started by listing them with their brief history as Julius Caesar, Jimmy Cliff, President Jimmy Carter, Jesus Christ and lastly he mentioned himself John Chukwu as one of the great men with JC as the initial.
He also has a night club called Klass at Awolowo way, Ikeja.
May the Lord rest his soul.
Wow! You've just reminded me of that joke. I haven't heard it in a long time.

John Chukwu at fashion show Part 4.

This is the part in which he talks about how different people pronounce his name.

When I get to Ibadan they call me John Suuku. I don't mind. But I have a reply. When they say John Suuku, I reply, "John Oniku Chukwu", because suuku means cry and die.

Is Christopher Kolade the same Christopher Kolade the highly respected administrator.
Dr Christopher Kolade was appointed Director of Programmes of the Nigerian Television Service (NTS) in 1964. The NTS was the television arm of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and it is the forerunner of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Here is Dr Kolade in the 1960s explaining why the NTS showed 60% foreign programmes and 40% Nigerian programmes.

Dr Kolade moved to radio in the 1970s and he was actually trapped in Broadcasting House, Ikoyi, during the shooting that took place during the Dimka Coup.

Dr Kolade became the CEO of Cadbury Nigeria in the 1980s.
