PoliticsNorthern Influencer Sani (AKA Sarki, Waspapping) Is Missing by naptu2(op): 7:33am On Mar 11
Sarki is missing and some people claim that he was arrested by the DSS because of his comments about Israel and the Iran war.

Engr Khalid @KHALYD16

It is no longer a secret that, Sani Waspapping, has been abducted by the DSS.

From what we have gathered so far, on Friday evening around NEPA Roundabout in kaduna, @Waspapping_ was picked up alongside a friend who was later released. The arrest is allegedly linked to a post he made on X regarding the US and Israel.

At the time, we deliberately chose to exercise restraint because some individuals came forward claiming they were “handling it” and assured us they were mediating behind the scenes to secure his release “everything is under control”. We gave them the benefit of the doubt.

But it is now Tuesday, and Sani’s whereabouts remain unknown. We have also received information that he has been moved to an undisclosed location.

At this point, it is becoming increasingly clear that some people are more interested in protecting their own positions and keeping their noses clean than actually doing what was necessary.

Let me be honest: People in power can burn anyone if it helps them remain close to power. I know a lot of you might not agree with what Sani was doing and rightly so, I don’t either. Desperate times…

Enough of the pretence.

We are therefore calling on everyone who genuinely believes in justice and due process to step forward. Do what you must on your end, and we will do what we must on ours, because this situation is clearly getting out of hand.

We call on the DSS and all relevant authorities to immediately release Sani Waspapping. If there are allegations against him, he must be formally charged and taken before a court of law without delay. Due process is not optional; it is a constitutional obligation.

A team of lawyers is already being assembled to formally engage the DSS and other relevant authorities in order to establish the legal basis for his detention and demand accountability.

Nigeria is a sovereign nation governed by law. Our institutions must operate within the framework of the Constitution, not in a manner that suggests arbitrary detention, external pressure, or disregard for fundamental rights.

The silence, the secrecy, and the games being played around this matter must stop.

Foreign AffairsRe: US Senators Slam Iran War After Classified Briefing by naptu2(op): 7:24am On Mar 11
Democrats say White House offers no clarity on Iran war goals after 11 days

Democratic Party members have decried a ‘disturbing’ lack of clarity following the latest classified briefing on Trump’s war justification and aims.

Washington, DC – Several Democrats in the United States have emerged from a classified briefing about the war on Iran, saying they still have little clarity about President Donald Trump’s justifications and end goals, even 11 days into the conflict.

“I emerge from this briefing as dissatisfied and angry, frankly, as I have from any past briefing in my 15 years,” said Senator Richard Blumenthal, following Tuesday’s briefing to the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Their statements marked the latest wave of condemnation from congressional Democrats, who have a slim minority in the Senate and the US House of Representatives.

Party members in both chambers had recently voted in near unison on resolutions seeking to halt the war, which the US and Israel launched on February 28.

But their efforts to pass a “war powers resolution” to rein in Trump failed amid widespread Republican opposition.

More recently, Democrats have pledged to delay proceedings in the Senate unless top officials from the Department of State and the Pentagon testify under oath about the war.

Following Tuesday’s briefing, Democrats like Blumenthal argued that the Trump administration owes the US public more clarity about the war.

Blumenthal added that the meeting piqued concerns that US forces may be deployed to either Iraq or Iran.

“I am left with more questions than answers, especially about the cost of the war,” he said.

“I am most concerned about the threat to American lives of potentially deploying our sons and daughters on the ground in Iraq. We seem to be on a path towards deploying American troops on the ground in Iran to accomplish any of the potential objectives.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren, meanwhile, said that the Trump administration “cannot explain the reasons that we entered this war, the goals we’re trying to accomplish and the methods for doing that”.

She also pointed to the high cost of the military operations against Iran, which some have estimated to exceed $5.6bn in the first two days alone.

Warren pointed out that Republicans cut healthcare subsidies last year in an effort to reduce federal spending, but appear to have no problem approving military expenses.

“While there is no money for 15 million Americans who lost their healthcare”, she noted, “there’s a billion dollars a day to spend on bombing Iran”.

While approached by reporters, Senator Jacky Rosen indicated she was limited in her ability to comment on classified briefings. Still, she offered brief remarks to voice her frustration.

“I can tell you what I heard is not just concerning. It is disturbing,” she said. “And I’m not sure what the end game is or what their plans are. They certainly have not made their case.”

‘On our timeline and at our choosing’

The latest round of criticism came shortly after US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth pledged to conduct the “most intense day” of strikes since the war began.

As of Tuesday, the war had killed at least 1,255 people in Iran, 394 people in Lebanon, 13 in Israel, six in Iraq and 14 across the Gulf.

Trump has repeatedly said the war would not be prolonged, but his officials have offered shifting timelines. Hegseth, for instance, said the fighting would not stop “until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated”.

“We do so on our timeline and at our choosing,” he said.

The Trump administration has also offered an array of justifications for launching the war, which came amid indirect talks with Iran on the future of its nuclear programme.

Trump has blamed Iran’s nuclear ambitions for the conflict, though Tehran has denied seeking a nuclear weapon, and his administration has also said the war was necessary to end Iran’s ballistic missile programme.

Experts have said that available evidence does not support the Trump administration’s claims that either posed an immediate threat to the US.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters last week that the US attacked because its close ally Israel had planned to attack Iran, which would have led to retaliation against US assets.

Rubio and Trump subsequently backed away from the circular rationale, with Trump claiming last week that Iran was the one planning to strike first.

Another rationale the Trump administration offered is that the totality of Iran’s actions since the 1979 Islamic revolution represented a threat to the US, thereby necessitating an attack.

Trump and his top officials have not provided evidence for any of their claims.

Calls for hearings, investigation

Democrats have been largely sidelined since the war began. Only a handful of Republicans have joined the left-leaning party in its efforts to rein in Trump through legislative means.

Under the US Constitution, only Congress can declare war. But presidents can still use the military to respond to imminent threats in instances of self-defence.

Still, there are limits to how long such operations can proceed. Under the 1973 War Powers Resolution, presidents must withdraw forces within 60 to 90 days of an unauthorised military campaign, or else seek congressional approval.

Trump, however, has denied he needs congressional backing for the military campaigns he has conducted since returning to office.

The latest attacks in Iran have sparked widespread public opposition, with polls suggesting a majority of US citizens oppose the war effort.

Earlier this week, six Democratic senators called for an investigation into a strike on a girls’ school in Minab, in southern Iran. Several investigations have indicated that the US was responsible for the attack, which killed at least 170 people, mostly children.

Last week, nearly 30 members of Congress called for an investigation into reports that US military leaders had used biblical motivations to justify the war to subordinates.

Some reportedly invoked “religious prophecy and apocalyptic theology” in statements to other enlisted personnel.

On Monday, Senator Cory Booker said Democrats had “collectively agreed” to use an array of procedural mechanisms in the chamber to block legislative business until Trump officials agree to testify under oath.

“Each individual senator has a tremendous amount of power to disrupt the normal functioning of the Senate, as well as certain privileges that we can exercise,” Booker said.

“And what we have agreed right now is that we’re not going to let the Senate continue business as usual, which seems to be ignoring the urgent issues the American people are dealing with.”

The United States Senate Armed Services Committee received classified briefing on the Iran War. Many senators came out of that meeting and condemned the war. The briefing is classified, so they cannot reveal what they were told.

Senator Chris Murphy is a democratic senator from Connecticut.

Chris Murphy @ChrisMurphyCT

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

1/ Here's what I can share:

2/ Maybe the lead is that the war goals DO NOT involve destroying Iran's nuclear weapons program. This is, uh...surprising...since Trump says over and over this is a key goal.

But then of course we already know air strikes can't wipe out their nuclear material.

3/ Second, they confirmed "regime change" is also NOT on the list. So, they are going to spend hundreds of billions of your taxpayer dollars, get a whole bunch of Americans killed, and a hardline regime - probably a MORE anti-American hardline regime - will still be in charge.

4/ Ok, so what ARE the goals? It seems, primarily, destroying lots of missiles and boats and drone factories.

But the question that stumped them: what happens when you stop bombing and they restart production?

They hinted at more bombing. Which is, of course, endless war.

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

Foreign AffairsRe: Egypt Raises Fuel Prices By 30% by naptu2: 6:00pm On Mar 10
Simple fact.

The Iran-Iraq War ran from 1980 till August 1988. During that time there were many riots over fule scarcity and petrol price, most prominent of which was the 1988 SAP riot.

That's fact.

ceejay80s was wrong and instead of admitting that he was wrong he has started telling us stories, which explains why I usually block him (and I will block him again now).

This has been happening since the beginning of the war. It's one of the things that people noticed at the beginning.

Tjese missiles break up into many projectiles and this makes it difficult for anti-missile missiles to stop them.

Police release images of Oslo US embassy explosion suspect

Alys Davies

Police in Norway have released pictures of a suspect linked to an explosion outside the US's embassy in Norway's capital Oslo on Sunday.

Two heavily pixelated images taken from surveillance footage show a person with their face concealed, dressed in dark clothing and carrying a backpack.

Police said in a statement on Monday that their investigation had so far showed the explosion was caused by an improvised device that was placed at the building's entrance. The blast caused minor damage and no injuries were reported.

Police previously said it was possible the explosion was an act of terrorism. They said in their latest update that they had no developments on the attacker's motive.

As well as the images, investigators were also examining a video published on Google Maps around the time of the incident, police said.

The now-deleted video featured Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, local media reported. He was assassinated last month during joint US-Israeli strikes on Tehran.

Police said the investigation into the embassy blast was being treated as high priority and that dogs, drones and helicopters had been used to carry out investigations at the scene of the explosion.

They appealed to anyone with information about the suspect, as well as anyone who noticed anything unusual in the area between midnight and 02:00 local time (01:00 GMT) on Sunday, to contact them.

Emergency services were dispatched to the embassy, on Morgedalsvegen street in the Ullern district of Oslo, at about 01:00 on Sunday.

Following the incident, photos posted on social media showed shattered glass in the snow outside the entrance to the embassy's consular section, cracks in a glass door and dark marks on a tiled floor.

Norwegian authorities described the incident as "unacceptable", with Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide stressing that "the security of diplomatic missions is very important to us".

A US State Department spokesperson said it too was investigating the incident.

Which country do we have a face to face battle before ??
Our troops died when they're on peace keeping mission.
I'm going to first give you the philosophical basis before I give you the incidents.

You have a house and your house has doors, walls and gates, why? It's to prevent armed robbers from coming to rob you.

It's the same with countries. Resource rich countries need armed forces to prevent other countries from invading their land and stealing their resources.

1) Cameroon: There were very many military clashes between Nigeria and Cameroon over the Bakasi Peninsula from around 1975 till the late 1990s. Cameroonian gendarmes would attack Nigeria, the Nigerian military would repel them, etc.

I had a friend in the Navy that said that they made many requests to Abacha for a new generator for their ship but they didn't receive any response. Then Cameroon attacked again and they got a brand new generator. They didn't know where it came from (Nigeria was under sanctions), but I heard rumours that it came through the Chagourys.

Anyway, there were many clashes, many troops died due to th3 Bakasi issue. It was because Cameroon realised that they couldn't take it by force, due to our military, that they eventually went to court.

2) Chad: Chadian forces invaded Borno in April 1983. President Shagari ordered the 3rd Armoured Division to chase them away. The GOC was Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari did not just chase them away, he invaded Chad.

Foreign countries put pressure on Shagari to withdraw from Chad.

3) Tongeji Island: It is an oil rich island in Ogun State. Benenoise gendarmes have often invaded the island and harrassed the locals. The Nigerian Navy had to build a base there.

There are more and I'll post them when I get back

Science/TechnologyRe: Nigeria's Air Defence Systems by naptu2(op): 7:11am On Mar 09
The first statement in your post is a lie. Nigeria had many international threats between 1960 and 1999 and Nigerian troops were involved in many such actions (and some died in battle).

UzorIyke:
They're also correct, Nigeria did not have international threat, since 1960 till date any problems we have with foreign power we usually solve them diplomatically or through international courts around the world, moreover a good and well equipped police can stop the internal security challenges we're having today like the book haram you mentioned. Nevertheless since we have money to acquire military equipment, I'm happy that they did it, because tomorrow is pregnant, no one knows what it holds.
Thanks.
