I know that I shouldn't take these people seriously, because they are not being serious. They are playing a game of anybody can say anything, even if it makes no sense. So my last post here will be to show that anybody can play that game.

Here is the issue.

CAF insists that WAFCON will hold this year. However, European clubs are trying to block the date that CAF proposed. So no specific date has been given.

Mens tournament was hosted in Egypt during the summer
It also depends on which country will host & their weather conditions

There are other issues involved (as has been already stated). FIFA & Europe usually have their tournaments in the Northern Summer and Africa and Asia staging their tournaments at this time will avoid clashes.

Prior to 2018 tournament, I wasn’t regularly following the Falcons
Although I’ve been watch a couple of games since USA 1999 with Mercy Akide etc
Watched only all the games in tournaments they’ve participated in since 2018
Someone here sarcastically threw jabs at me but you patiently wrote down facts
I thought North Africans usually prefer to host tournaments summer (end of season) periods. That’s why I was somewhat confused.
Plus I often don’t remember the womens game and history like the super eagles

I think there are two reasons for the controversy.

1) CAF insists that the Nations Cup will hold this year, but they still haven't provided an exact date for it. A lot of people, including journalists, want to make plans and that's difficult when you don't know the exact dates. CAF would usually have released the dates by now.

2) The men's Nations Cup is usually held in January and February, while the women's Nations Cup is usually held in November (because of the Rainy Season- Dry Season in Africa). However, European clubs often complain that they lose the services of African players during this period, so CAF did an experiment and moved both tournaments to the European Summer. It didn't work, so we are now back to the traditional times.
