Were you able to get one and how?

Had to pay a travel agent for visa assistance. I was told that Spain's booking was closed till the start of October at the time, so we went with Italy due to time constraints.

Hi, is anyone having problems booking an appointment? The calendar is completely greyed out for me. Does that mean that there are no available dates?

Submitted on 1st march in Abuja. Just noticed the case updated just changed to
14th April from 2nd March. I don't know what this means. Still on Application received though

It means that they have maybe moved it from one pile, or one office, to another.

Bear in mind I'm in Lagos, but mine was updating everyday, even though it was on Application Received. It's now been approved.

Hello,

I am applying for a US tourist visa to visit a sibling in the US who is on a student visa as well. I'm in the UK for my masters. I have applied and gotten an interview date for July. In the employment section, I included my last two jobs in Nigeria. However, I didn't include my current part-time HCA role with the NHS. This is because, 1) the ds160 allows for only 2 jobs, 2)the HCA job is not my main reason for being in the UK, and 3) the site does not allow for indicating that any other job besides the primary occupation is currently ongoing. Meaning if I add the HCA job, it will be listed as a job I have left already.

Should I still add it ? The person I'm going to visit thinks it should be included and will increase my chances. Does this matter? If I decide to add it, I will have to create a new ds160 form, and reschedule my appointment. Also, I indicated I'm self funding. I plan to take along proof of my employment with the NHS and my payslips. I'm a first time applicant with no travel history except to the UK.

Any tips pls?

Since you are in the UK on a student visa, your work isn't all that relevant. You will need a letter from your school that states you are a student in good standing/enrolled when you go for the interview, and your financial stuff. I would say being a student in the UK gives you a pretty decent chance already. It usually helps if you have a valid visa for another western country too. I got a US visa in Switzerland as a student and it was nowhere as stressful as it is Nigeria. VOs were much nicer too.

I submitted on the 17th of march. Me, my wife and 2 kids. I checked this morning and no changes. Just that same application received. case was created on 20th march and was last updated on the same 20th of march. I submitted my document at DHL-Dropoff point in Abuja.

that's me too, but in the ustraveldocs portal (where we booked the appointment) the 'your passport is with the US Consulate' message has changed to 'delivery information' which is what happened to a family member a few days (like 3-4) before they received theirs. i didn't know about the visa tracking site, so I didn't check that one then. i should note that i'm in lagos, so the timings could be a bit different for you, but i'm pretty sure we should have a passport hopefully with a visa in it by this time next week.

Hi
my mum applied for B1/B2 visa to come help take care of her grandson. if she is asked why she is going to the US should she say she is going to take care of her grandson?

Please I would appreciate your responses

I wouldn't say this. On paper, it would seem like she was going there to work even if common sense said it wasn't. Just say she wants to visit her child and grandson.

Please I guess you have done yours. Please can you direct us

I didn't do anything, God smiled on me and I randomly looked and they had opened up some interview spaces in February. So i ended up doing it on February 10. Funny enough another family member had applied in early january and got March. So I actually got to submit before them.

Anyway last time I looked on the ustraveldocs site, they said it's 1 day appointment wait time, so go and check.

Please why were you disqualified

Hi, not the person you asked the question, but in my experience it seems to be at random. My mother, sister and I once applied together for IW and my sister was invited in for a physical interview. We later found out a few years later that there was some kind of error in her records in their system so maybe that might have had something to do with it.

I had a passport stolen before my last visa, so if they invite me in we will know that it's not completely random.

Hello everyone. I hope you are well, and 2023 is treating you well so far. Please, if you could give me some advice, I would be grateful.

I applied for dropbox some time ago and it was approved last week. However, I only saw the email this evening. Go on the platform to schedule an appointment and the earliest appointment is in June. Unfortunately, my visa expired in April, 2019, so June will make it 50 months, not 48.

Is anyone in this situation? How did you manage it and what would you suggest I do.

Hello house. I know this thread is meant for France visa discussions exclusively but I wanted to know if anyone has had an experience with France or any other Schengen country's outsourcing agency (BLS, VFS, TLS, etc.) where they refuse to post up appointment openings in a timely manner? I've been searching for a May appointment slot for a Spain Schengen visa since the beginning of March - we're now at April 6th and they still haven't released May appointment bookings. I hope this isn't a move by some cabal to pre-book May appointment slots for their chosen people or something...anything can happen in Naija. Please can anyone advise what may be happening? Have you experienced such before?

My advice to you is to not bother with Spain. I dunno whether they sent the people who came last in class to Nigeria, but they are very dull. You will even have to translate your documents into Spanish, and they will hold your application even beyond your planned travel date.

Hello thread, I have a quick question.

I am planning to travel to the U.K on holiday on September 27th. I have a long term visitors visa so that's fine. However, I had long since planned to do a course at the end of October (Oct 30) after my holiday, that lasts 20 days however I recently found out that I have to get a short-term study visa.

However, when you look at the UK.Gov website, it says that you can study for up to 30 days on standard visitors visa. I've included a screenshot of the relevant section.

According to that I can't just go there with the purpose of doing the course. Well I'm going on a two week cruise, then visiting friends for two weeks before the course, and it made sense to tag the course on this trip to avoid buying flight tickets twice.

So what should I do? Assuming I have to get a visa, does anyone know if you can do priority with short term study visas in Lagos?

Airside is a very high risk area. So security is very very tight, as such one is not supposed to snap the area because it will give opportunity to criminals to understand the layout of the area and find ways to beat that intelligence.
Someone would think but people can see it when boarding. Yes, but if you notice one wouldn't have time and the opportunity to learn all the security setup. They would hurriedly guide you to the aircraft.
Even staffs working in the airside are not supposed to know the setup and cameras area of coverage. Intact even among the security personal not all of them are allowed to know the location of all the cameras

lol. like we don't all live in nigeria.

Sorry, it doesn't matter if they weren't 'wandering anyhow'. It is NOT a sane policy to leave irate people on the tarmac. It's a safety and security issue.

By all means, they should have gone to Medview office (within the premises!) to complain. If possible, stop all other booking operations etc. But to linger on the tarmac makes zero sense and in every single country in the world, security agencies WILL remove you from the tarmac.

Let me re-iterate. There is NO single first, second or third world country where security agencies will leave you to stay and complain on the tarmac.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-37283869 that happened at London City Airport last year and they didn't even have the right to be on the tarmac to begin with.

i see and understand the point about safety and security, but having also been in that situation (hence my extra sympathy for them) there are better ways to have handled it. however maybe because in our case, we were plenty and possibly skewed older (at least 30), they went with the tender touch rather than the rough stuff. for instance, in our situation, arik ground staff were there and worked hard to calm us down, hell even the security agents had a modicum of sympathy and were concilatory.

Most of you don't get it. They should have gone to medview office to air their grievances or protest. You don't wonder around anyhow on the tarmac.

I am very sure the security must have warned them before going physical on them.

Don't be ridiculous. They weren't wandering around anyhow on the tarmac. The only reason they were on the tarmac to begin with is that Medview cleared them to be there and then bleeped up.

They should go and protest in Medview office? please stop typing from countries with customer service and be serious for a moment, airlines in nigeria are mental. in november, arik air left a planeload of passengers stranded in Kaduna, they had been waiting for about 12 hours for a flight to lagos. A colleague of mine finally got to Kaduna airport on Azman at 11 PM (after being advised by Arik staff in Lagos that they probably wouldn't be flying to Kaduna that day) and was told by people there that they were still expecting the Lagos flight. Meanwhile, not a soul from Arik air was in that airport to give any information or anything to the passengers. Sometimes, if you leave that place, you're on your own.

Hello Agriculture Forum,

I was wondering if any Cassava farmers here had encountered this disease. Please, if you have drop me a line, I want to interview you for a piece I am writing.

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, my deadline is fast approaching and i am a little desperate.
