COVID-19 WAR: WALIDIRA FULANI INITIATIVE REACTS OVER MARGINALIZATION OF FULANI PERSONS BY FG. By Ikpontu G.N As tension continues to rise over the required interventions and direction of action by the federal government in containing the Covid19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation have called on more interventions in the rural and ruga settlements, especially in areas of awareness and diagnosis to ensure that it's members(Fulani) are considered in full priority, as a result of their vulnerability, interactions and sensitivity. In a statement released and signed by Alh. Yusuf Ardo, the National President of Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation, he noted that its members especially in the ruga settlements where now being exposed to economic struggles, hunger, social stagnation and psychological drifts, which may pose a greater threat in the fight to combat the Covid19 Pandemic in Nigeria. He further noted that the message of sensitization, use of disinfectants and other health hazard observed under the Disaster Management Act or Quarantine Act is not observed within the precepts of this rural groups, need-less to say of the privileges and incentives given to less-privileged and handicapped persons. In the statement, Mr. Ardo however noted that our generation is presently faced with a threat that is 10 times more potential than our conventional modern day science and stressed on the need to better magnify the problem in a bigger light and sought out any means to solving it, instead of merely looking at it without any feasible sense of purpose, sense of duty or optimism, as it may endanger the very existence of an industrious generation. Ardo described the situation as apparently a third World War, with an army that is not visible to the naked eye. He further challenged leaders and citizens to ensure that all hands are on deck, stressing that the shutdown developments may not sufficiently be the way out, if the situation persists. He emphasized on the sustainability and capacity of the Nigeria government to hold-up on the recent emergency economic stimulus bill passed by the National Assembly on tax relief, import free duty on medical and pharmaceutical materials to the country and stipend given to the less-privileged and vulnerable households by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. He encouraged the federal government to initiate a coalition that will equilaterally engage citizen and build a work force that will come from different volunteer groups, as the volunteers services would be regarded and described as the “soldiers of fortune”. He suggested that the coalition will sustainably focus on areas like agriculture/faming, environmental sanitation/disinfection, food distribution, scarcity and production mechanism for livestocks. The National President stated emphatically that its Members need to be included in the fight and control of the spread of Covid-19 Pandemic, stressing that there have been eventualities whereby it's members in he rural areas visited the market without knowing the reasons behind the closure of market and mosque’s (worship centers) and most of them are found coughing and exchanging pleasantries with each other as usual. The National President of the Fulani initiative have continued to support and promote advocacy and sustainability programs for the predominant Fulani people in Nigeria, who deserves equal rights and considerations like every other citizen of the country. He finally stated that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

2019 POLLS: COLD PROSPECTS FOR PDP, APGA IN NASARAWA STATE. Even though it is the masses that will do the voting that will decide who the next governor of Nasarawa State would be, it is obvious that the APC's pick for the governorship election stands the better chance of clinching the governorship. This assertion is not farfetched and stems from existing political phenomenon. As it is today, the two major opposition parties in the state, I. e the PDP and APGA does not pose a troubling threat to the ruling APC's quest to retain the control of the state. Aside its current state of polarization and dwindling fortune, the PDP still carries with it the baggage of its previous record of misrule while it held sway. Convincing the people to again entrust the PDP with the control of Nasarawa State is no doubt a difficult task. APGA on its part is politically, ideologically and historically alien to the state. The party in the state is currently peopled with nonentities and politician of no means. Since its debut in the state in the 2015 election, the party is yet to register any appreciable presence in the state leaving its flagbearer as the only notable figure Being the ruling party, the APC is organized, stable and can boast of sound structures in all the nooks and crannies of the state. The party also has the stellar performance of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to campaign on. It can thus be conveniently assert that the 2019 governorship is a one-way traffic for the APC. the party in all ramifications appears the favorite for the 2019 governorship. This is perhaps the reason behind the crowded race for the party's ticket. That over a dozen aspirants have so far indicated interest to bear the party's flag is an attestation of the strength of the APC in the state. Already, the aspirants have busied the state political landscape mobilizing and and engaging with party faithful and electorate. The only thing left is for the party to correctly navigate and present to the people a valuable and acceptable candidate that will be crowned the next governor of the state. Unless the party got it wrong with its nomination process and throw up a development that caused it its fortune, it retention of the state beyond 2019 remained obvious. Nasarawa State is for it to loose |
MURIC has threatened to sue Falz for using Hijab wearing dancers in his music video, "This is Nigeria", if he failed to withdraw the video from circulation and apologize to the Muslim community within 7 days. They gave an analysis of the dressing concepts and termed it hate expression against Islam. They insist that the video is calculated to ridicule Islam. I have always known Hijab to be an Arabic dressing. And not all Arabs are Muslims. Not only Muslims wear hijab. In fact, all Abrahamic religion wear hijab. I then wonder why MURIC has decided to personalize this and are everywhere threatening and indirectly instigating hate against Falz and others(apparently Falz religion). MURIC, perhaps, didn't watch in the same video where Falz directly ridiculed Christianity and its leadership in Nigeria. Why then would they take personal a dance concept which never portrayed muslim religion in bad light and ignored the visible ridicule against Christianity? Why would MURIC always tune in the voice of violence at every given opportunities? Recently, I wrote to complain about the inclusion of Arabic in Police recruitment exam and most of the persons that criticised me both openly and secretly in the forum I posted it argued that Arabic isn't a representation of Islam. Now that someone has employed same Arabic dressing to pass a message in remembrance of the Chibok girls, why the fuse? Is Arabic unislam in exam curriculum but Islam in dressing? Double standard? And come to think of it, a Muslim that watches shaku shaku music to the point of analyzing it, is that one a Muslim? Copied from Tsede Tsede timeline |
CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA GIVES FG 72 HOURS TO CANCEL AND REORGANISE NEW POLICE RECRUITMENT TEST. The federal government has been chided by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for allegedly making Arabic language compulsory in the aptitude test conducted last week for all applicants shortlisted for recruitment into Nigeria Police Force, Vanguard reports. The organization made its position on the matter public, in a statement released by its national president, Rev Samson Ayokunle, on Thursday May 31,2018. CAN called for the cancellation of the aptitude test which was organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in 156 centres nationwide. According to the association, it is a violation of the Constitution and the secular nature of the country, to mandate both Christians and Muslims to answer questions in Arabic language. It stated: “The just concluded Nigeria Police entrance examination using JAMB Computer based test (CBT) where Arabic language (the official Islamic language) was made compulsory for Muslims and Christians alike is another dirty slap on the 1999 Constitution (as amended). “To many Christian youths who sat for that examination, the display of the Arabic language questions came as a rude shock. Many could not recover from the setback until JAMB logged them out of the CBT platform; obviously achieving the aim of the Islamic extremists who are hell bent on fostering their religion and culture on the Nigeria Police Force. “While it is true that in some Police examination centers, some officiating officers advised the candidates to ignore the Arabic language questions; but that again ran contrary to the examination instructions wherein a candidate was required to answer 180 questions viz- 1. Use of English 60, 2. Arabic language 40, 3. Fine Arts 40, and 4. Agriculture 40 hence summing up the 180 questions each candidate is required to answer. “This deliberate attempt to undermine Christians in Nigeria leaves so many questions as to the unity of the nation. The most appropriate action is to cancel the exams and conduct a fresh one devoid of controversies. “It will be wrong for the president of Nigeria (who swore to defend both the Christians and Muslims alike) to turn around to allow his appointees seek to divide the nation through their action can allow this affront now and he is still seeking the vote of Christians for a second term we do not trust he will keep us alive if he ascends that throne for another four years. “CAN demands evidence of cancellation of the examination and fixing of date for a retake within 72 hours of this notice. Else, the Christian community in Nigeria will have no choice than embark on other measures to seek redress of this national insult. “We also demand evidence of the withdrawal of Arabic language as a compulsory elective for management science studies in tertiary institutions from National Universities Commission, NUC.” |
