MrBrownJay1: see these hypocrites!!!!! so everyone should be on "your" side abi?! what type of arrant nonsense is this?!
just like many are supporting Ukraine, ANYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO SUPPORT RUSSIA, if thats what they wish to do. You are the authentic hypocrite here. South Africa is a back stabber. You need to know the extent of US moral support for all African nations before, during and after the COVID pandemic. Americans sweat and blood is crying for vengeance. The US went an extra mile for this most ungrateful nation on Earth 🌎🌍. If joining BRICS and arming Russia is their best way of thanking a destructive Putin, then let it be. The blood of Ukrainian and sweat of American would surely cry for justice at the right time. |

They don't even support him, they thwarted his election in the S.E hence the low turnout, yet you claim that they're his boys. Stop deceiving your brothers. Obi is their patron. Sponsor of unknown gunmen and IPOBs. They voted for him enmass They are still all over the social media abusing and attacking The president elect. The day of judgement is near when the Nigeria government shall send all unknown gunmen to their ancestors in Biafra Land . |

Secondly Spar is a franchise. No single owner. ShopRite sold the brand and the pioneer branches before they exited Nigeria. |

Isobug: There's nothing Tinubu can not afford in this country. If you like video him live while he commits murder, you're on your own, He will still twist matters and buy his way out. Even the prosecutor s life would be at grave risk. The money coming out from Lagos alone plus porpoted drug proceeds in billions, are almost Omni-potent. Litigations in court against him are just there for formalities. Those judges you see are money mongers, once a substantial amount is offered, you will see an utter unanimous decision by all the judges.
We are completely doomed in this country, nothing I repeat nothing can ever works unhampered in this country Rather say, you are doomed in Biafra land, we are blessed in Nigeria. |

Lend money to an enemy, you will have him back, borrow same to a friend, you will loose him forever. This is what is happening to the great US$ who borrow and finance so many countries in Africa for years, they are now turning against United States, supporting Russia and China. I learnt a lesson early in life, never to lend family and friends money. |

Penguin2: Let’s have an intelligent conversation here for once.
It’s increasingly becoming a reality that the BRICS and some other countries that share in their view, are pushing for de-dollarisation of global trade which would see the US dollar cease being the fiat currency for trade in the international market.
A lot of people are celebrating this move but haven’t really explained how it would exponentially benefit a country like Nigeria or a continent like Africa for instance.
Let’s take an example, if Nigeria trades in Chinese Yuan for instance, where will it spend the Yuan apart from another trade with China?
If we sell Oil to Kenya and Kenya pays with Kenyan Shillings, where are we going to spend that apart from another trade with Kenya?
For me, I see the dollar like a “lingua franca” in a multi-lingual society.
Take Nigeria for instance, if the different Nigerian tribes refused to learn and communicate in English, how would communication amongst all of have been possible? There would have been confusion.
That’s the way I see the dollar. It helped eliminate confusion in international trade as it became the common currency of trade.
If you eliminate the dollar, what are we gonna do? Start trading with gold like in the olden days or resort to trade by barter?
So, I’m asking this question because I know there economists and people with better understanding of the the financial system on Nairaland so they can help us make sense of the emerging reality.
I want us to have an informed understanding of what is going on so that if we are celebrating, we will be celebrating what we understand and not because some paid PR told us to celebrate the fall of American dominance.
Nlfpmod Mynd44
You might wanna move to front page let’s have some educative conversation. You cannot de-dolarise. We can only have basket of currency in which nations of bed fellow would choose a suitable currency for their international trade and economy. In as much as there is NATO, Western European nations, Canada, Australia and Taiwan, the BRICS would struggle to back up the BRICS currency due to inequitable distribution of resources among the component nations. The worst scenario, is a Bipolar World, where if you are not for me, you are against me. Every nations had gotten the right to choose where to trade. This is where the US innovation will stand them out. The ongoing effort by the US and European allies is to render crude oil as an alternate source of energy. Once this is achieved, believe it or not, most of the allies of Chino-Russia blocks will be rendered impotent. Most of the innovations and technologies of the US stolen by Chinese would have become obsolete. The nation that can solve the problems of humanity in the nearest future would rule the World again, and that nation is the US. The dramatic transformation of China economy was not without the active involvement of the US ,which the Chinese leverage upon, but now deleveraging. The US was aware of this happening as far back as 1974, they had done countless research on how to cope in today's World. The solution is in Africa, however the report from Africa was scaring the American away. In the days of military dominance in almost 95% of Africa countries, the US opted to industrialized China with Petrol-dollar ⛽️. The result of which lifted over 800 million Chinese out of poverty. Back to the discussion, we can have a scenario where a country like Nigeria, Ghana and few Africa nations might end up as the potential beneficiary of Chino-Russia vs Euro-American global trade war.

Poten111: Anybody advising Tinubu to support Akpabio or Barau hates Tinubu and Nigeria.
Igbos have been marginalized in Buhari's government. The country is highly polarised along ethnic lines. According to Ex-governor John Kayode Fayemi, "Tinubu should work towards having a government of National Unity".
If Kalu is senate president, nobody can say they have been marginalized in igbo land. Secessionist struggles will have no meaning.
Ir you recall, majority of Nigerians did not vote Tinubu. if you compare Atiku and Obi's vote. About 65% of Nigerians did not vote Tinubu. Only avenue to achieving lasting peace is by ensuring that No Igbo man, home or abroad can use grievance to hate a government.
Tinubu does not need that distraction. Your deep imagination, can you reap where you never sew? A wishful 🤔 thinking, Ipo-bian can never be a senate president of FRN. Igbo should be a SP in Biafra Republic of Simon Ekpa and Nnamadi Kanu. |

The best and relative antidote to impending fuel subsidies removal is conversion of liquid assets (Naira) to $ Dolapo. Every other things Will fall into place. The Government target is N1000.00 to $1. They are stupidly broke. Devaluation is imminent Higher denomination is coming Floating of Naira is a condition tabled before the government by lenders. We are in a government of confiscation. Government seized unclaimed dividends money Government seized dormant Naira and domiciliary account funds Government seized Naira in the name of introducing new currency.
