IT GOT WORSE IN 2023

The ‘O To Ge’ offensive has effectively dethroned him from the status of a kingmaker to a commoner. As things stand, the outcome of the 2023 general election seemed to have nailed the political influence of the family in the state.

Though Bukola managed to win his polling unit in the presidential election, the PDP only secured 29,978 votes while APC won with 47,784 in Saraki’s Ilorin West LGA.

In the end, the PDP secured 136,909 votes, the APC polled 263,572 votes in the state. All the senatorial and house of representatives seats from the state went to the APC.

In the governorship election, Saraki’s party lost all the 16 LGAs in the state to the APC, including Ilorin West. APC also swept 23 of the 24 state house of assembly seats of the state.

IS THIS THE END OF THE SARAKI DYNASTY?

Titilope Anifowoshe, a lawyer and public affairs analyst, in a chat with TheCable, said the 2023 elections broke the last straw on Saraki’s back.

Anifowoshe added that the landslide victory for the APC in Kwara holds so much water on what the PDP needs to learn about the political dynamics of the state.

“The 2023 election in Kwara seems to be the final nail in the coffin of the Saraki Dynasty. Times may change, but there is so much to learn from the overwhelming victory recorded by the APC in Kwara,” Anifowoshe, a Kwara-born lawyer, said.

“Considering allegations of vote buying, it may be too early to attribute the fall of PDP in Kwara to the yearnings of Kwarans for good governance. However, concluding that the political game has changed is safe.”

Anifowoshe further argued that the imposition of party candidates ruined the show for Saraki in the contest.

“A huge percentage of Kwara PDP stakeholders were allegedly dissatisfied with the primaries. The primaries that elected the candidates of PDP were marred by the massive imposition from Bukola’s camp,” the lawyer added.

Beyond that, though, there were also complaints by Kwara civil servants about their welfare.

Abdulrazaq, the governor, has paid salaries regularly and also approved promotions on time, some of the workers told TheCable.

“Our promotions were delayed under AbdulFatah Ahmed, the former governor,” a teacher told TheCable.

“Abdulrazaq had made our welfare his priority and there was no way I would not have voted for him. Most of us are happy with him.”

That means the resuscitation of the Saraki dynasty may take much longer, if it will ever happen

This remind me of the good olden days, when men were men, when the system was functioning, when education was education, I meant, before Buhari buried what is left of the system in the graveyard.
I was born in Ugheli, had primary and post primary education in the Southern part of Nigeria. It was such a beautiful and evergreen memory. Today, I give God the glory for giving me the weapon to destroy poverty in my life.

I read the said letter from A to Z, and came to a conclusion, that if we do not celebrate and promote our own, noone will. For this reason I apologise on behalves of over 8 Millions Nigerians that voted for you, We did not do enough to celebrate you before now. We left the stage for the enemies to demarket your victory in the spirit of no winner,no vanquished in order to give everyone a right and sense of belonging in the renew hope which you promised the Nigeria electorates. We had almost allowed the enemies to paint your victory as unworthy. For the record, the election that returned you as the President elect was free and fair ,and almost the best in the history of Nigeria. I cast my vote in Arepo, Ogun state and voted for APC, though I'm not a card carrying member of any political party. I can attest before any established authority that the election was indeed free and fair. We were deeply happy that you won the election, but choose not to celebrate the victory in order not to make the losers feel bad and add salt to their open wound and defeat at the poll. I reflect on your slogan "A renew hope" which I interpret as an encouragement that Nigerians should not give up despite the destruction caused in 8 years of destruction by the locust, the cankerworm, the caterpillar and the grasshopper of the outgoing administration. This was the only motivation that made me to vote for APC.
We demand more from you, not going to be easy but the Almighty God that made you the President elect of Nigeria will give you the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to meet Nigeria at the point of her expectations.

Firstly, I expect you to prioritize the well-being of our citizens. This includes ensuring access to quality healthcare, education, and basic necessities such as clean water and sanitation. It is also important that you address poverty and inequality, and work towards improving the standard of living for all citizens across the diversity. May you also restore the glory of Naira as you embark on the aforementioned.

Secondly, I expect you to prioritize economic growth and development. Our country has vast potential for growth, and I believe that with the right policies and investments, we can achieve significant progress. This includes creating an environment that encourages foreign investment, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and providing support for small businesses. Our population should be an asset, not a liability. China turn her population to asset, India is following suit.

Thirdly, I expect you to prioritize good governance and transparency. Corruption has been a major issue in our country, and it has hindered progress and development. I expect you to lead by example and ensure that your administration is accountable to the people. This includes implementing policies and mechanisms that promote transparency, integrity, and the rule of law. Rwanda is a template you can study in achieving this, though not in the rule of law.

Fourthly, I expect you to prioritize environmental sustainability. Our country is blessed with natural resources, and it is important that we preserve them for future generations. This includes promoting renewable energy, reducing pollution, and protecting our forests and wildlife.

Lastly, I expect you to be a unifying figure for our country. Our nation is diverse, with different cultures, religions, and political views. It is important that you work towards building bridges and fostering unity among our people. This includes promoting dialogue, tolerance, and respect for diversity. Also ensure the restructuring of Nigeria, devolution of economic power to the constituent states, resources control and true Federalism should be given necessary consideration.

In conclusion, I believe that you have a great responsibility as the leader of our country, and I have high expectations for your presidency. I hope that you will work tirelessly to address the needs of our citizens, promote economic growth and development, ensure good governance and transparency, protect our environment, and promote unity among our people.

I am writing to you today to share with you the valuable lessons that I learned from
the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigeria President elect. his recent experience of achieving a worthy victory.
BAT victory has taught me some important things about life that I believe are worth sharing.

First and foremost, the victory has taught me that hard work and perseverance pay off in the end. Achieving success is not easy, and it often requires significant effort and dedication. However, if you keep pushing forward and don't give up, you can achieve great things. I learned that even when things get tough, it's important to keep going and believe in yourself, and never get distracted by the antics of fake prophets, GO, critics and enemies.

Secondly, the victory of BAT has taught me the importance of having a positive mindset (Emilokan). Our thoughts have a powerful impact on our lives, and having a positive outlook can make all the difference in achieving our goals. I learned that focusing on the positive aspects of a situation and believing in one abilities helped one to stay motivated and confident, even when faced with challenges.

The victory of BAT has also taught me the importance of teamwork, negotiation, inter-ethnic consideration, consultation and collaboration. While individual effort is important, working together with others can lead to even greater success. I learned that by collaborating with others and leveraging their strengths, we can achieve more than we could on our own.

Lastly, the victory of BAT has taught me that success is not just about the destination but also about the journey.
