If you've broken up, its customery to return the stuff whether he/she ask for it back, or not - just return it.   After all, it's his/hers property and not yours. At the end of the day, it was he/her who bought it and has the receipt to prove it.

Have you considered the fact that, he/she could even get you arrested for keeping the item and thus, could label it a stolen item.  Na there the trouble go kukuma develop K-leg. Also, you wouldn't want to be black-mailed with that kind of thing, would you?
