I can't understand why they say our standard of education is low I will continue to disagree and will always disagree, now come to think of it, here you cannot use your text books during an exam we call it malpractice but over there like in the us they are allowed to do that, and many still fail. here we have to read like mad people for a simple test and most times no teacher is ready to tell you'' you have a test on friday so prepare for it'' They come with impromptu test.
I can't understand how someone who came to Naija after studying in the us will not be able to cope here, at least I had many classmates who were schooling there ''the so called high standards'' but when they come here ''low standards'' they cannot cope, they come out bottoms in class always as no one drags it with them, so I begin to wonder person wey no know 1=1 how you wan carry solve algebra?
Also if you notice you will see that some one who made a third class here in Naija will go over there and make a fist class, I think its the foundation. all we have to do is invest in facilities of our schools and we can be the best. I know a lot of you will disagree with me but its okay, but still you should just think about it

Jeez why are so many peoepl saying this doesn't apply in Nigeria? I my self after finishing sec school at age 15 I got a job but couldn't go due to some circumstances even my Dad helped in the search of a job, many of my peers also got themselves jobs as teachers others worked in fast food outlets, so I don't get when you guys say this doesn't apply in Nigeria, there are still many parents here who encourage their children to get holiday jobs

well those of you whose results are witheld keep praying that your result will be out, nothing is impossible, and those of us whose result are ''no result yet'' don't fret, My mum went to the WAEC office in my state for some stuff today and they told her to go to Ph but that all the workers have gone to mark Jamb scripts and they will be through by 4th of July ''this means that they haven't marked all scripts yet'' After hearing this from my mum I am very sure our results will be out very soon. So I advice you guys should not waste time, start preparing for your pume, me I have already started preparing even though I haven't seen my result. Good luck to all of us.

[b] I DISAGREE WITH THE ARTICLE TO AN EXTENT @ STAGGER I agree with you, Though some of us here still get holiday jobs at least I finished sec school when I was 15 I tried getting a job twice, though my parents are not the wealthiest we are very very comfortable. Immediately I finished I told my dad I wanted a job, since my jamb wasn't favourable although I made my WAEC. My dad also went searching and found one, I had already prepared for the interview and I was sure I would be the one to get the job, they were to pay #20,000 monthly. but It was cancelled because of the bad conduct of most people. Truth be told my mum was scared that if I start making money at the age of 15 I might loose interest in a lot of things including school lolz. I later tried out a computer centre but I couldn't go at last because of some problems my bro caused. I had some classmates who also got themselves teaching jobs, they were paid at least #10,000 monthly others worked in fast food outlets. My parents have never given me a dime as pocket money no matter the amount of money available though they provide everything for me. The point is there are still a lot of parents here who encourage their children to get holiday jobs. [/b]
