Nice thread, I must say having sickle cell is like a war that never ends. I really sympathise with people with SS genotype. I'm AS though, its sad to know that I cant marry an AS. Even my gene has started selecting husbands already before me damn. It pays to know your genotype though, people need awareness its sad that so many people only get to know their genotype at the verge of getting married some still damn the consequences and go ahead and at the end the child suffers greatly. Its hard to raise a child with SS its even harder for the child prevention is better than living a miserable life with one crisis after the other.
