Chelsea's debt to value ratio is 0 because Chelsea owe the owner(Roman).I should be asking you if that is hard to decipher for you. . . . That's where interest payment make a difference. . . It is as of now IF Roman decides to quit. . . for ManU it is when the banks call for their money. . . I am actually done arguing with you. . . you've taken me whole day . . . goodnite to all of ya! including my friend debosky. . . Side note. . . Chac. . . Don't say all those men understand figures. . . I have gone far and wide in this country man! |
switch47:I have told you . . you don't belong here. . . go to the Romance. . . We are having a debate not prophecy here. . . . @Debosky. . You don't have to win arguments. . sometimes it's fair to say I lost!. . You can only call what I said wuru-wuru either because you don't understand it or you do and do not want to accept. . . I can only talk with Chac. . because he likes to find figures. . . So you are telling me the £40m max that Chelsea made from CL is what made £223m revenue. . what are you talking about? I said Utd spend £130m . . did I call it net spend. . ? Is "net spend" not different not different from "spend". . why are you bringing it into the fray of things. . . You take things that suit you in an argument . . you don't tackle to true points. . . . The true point is Debt. . . and not any other thing. . . tackle the points I have raised about Debt. |
Transfer wages have no bearing on a club's welfare. If United spends £300 million acquiring players and sold players worth £280 million. The net is only £20 m. When plastic fans(like u) see £300 milla in expenditure, u scream ur lungs ou t but what about the money made on players who left the club, huh?? So when those old men who supported ManU in the Munich crash era see figures and don't understand, they are ultimately plastic fans uhm!. . leave that for later. . . Okay do a fact check. . . I said how much Utd have spent in the past two seasons. . . tell me how much you made on players that have left the club in that time and tell us where the net spend is. . . You overtsate so many things. . . So everything I have said here to day is not enough for you to understand who doesn't know expenditure. . . The player wage bill is the true index of knowing how much a club spends on their players. You are only backing up what I said earlier, I have never docked the question of huge wages. . . I have told you that it's being sorted as yourself can't produce figures of 07/08 and there will be 08/09. . . I also told you as soon as Chelsea can fix it's wage structure it'l be a far better run club than Utd. . . because we both have near revenue power. . . . From the very moment that Chelsea breaks even, Chelsea will be less and less in debt while you will keep spending your profits on interest repayments and going more and more in debt. Man Utd made £212 million in the last financial report while Chelsea made £190 million.I don't know where you got your figures from but I am quoting british newpapers. . . . And this is the comparism. . .Debt!. . . You evade the topic of debt. . . . you've not said anything about it. . . According to Forbes Utd are the richest club in the world. . . who cares? . . . According to Forbes Chelsea are the 8th richest club in the world £764m. . . but this is what forbes won't explain. . . According to Forbes. . ManU has a debt to value ratio of 60. . . . Do we go into the lectures of that? . . . . In case you don't know Chac . . Chelsea's debt to Value ratio is 0. . . . higher is worse. . . and that is an indicator of long term survival. . That's the comparism . . that's exactly where you know that interest free loan advantage that Chelsea have will make then the richest club in the world in only a matter of years. . . . |
U are very funny. The Glazers owe various banks and they are servicing the loans. The Glaziers are servicing the loans. . ?. . Tell me your figures. . . Chelsea do not owe more than United. . . I don't know where you got your figures from . . . . and I repeat Chelsea's debt are internal not external. . Roman's can't be forced to sell Chelsea because of a match. . . Roman can only be forced to Chelsea because of figures. . . Get the facts right Chac. . U must be smoking woolies. . . . . .United can sell Berbatov for more than £30 million if they want to.While I am not an expert at quoting market value of players. . . I do not need to be one to know that you only a club from planet mars will buy Berba for over £30m. . . What are you drinking Chac. . . ? So you think because Diarra went for 20. Berba will go for over £30m. . . I know you to the game yesterday. . . go have some rest. . . I won't buy Berba for more than the transfer value of JS Park. . cos I see him now as a squad player. . And I repeat Chelsea is not in any deep financial crisis. . because we owe one man not a bloody board of pot bellied directors. . . Deloitte are the official accountant of em Premiership clubs and they have come out to say United are in a comfort level.I know who delloite are. . . "Debts will take care of itself in the long run" . . . It's not like wishes man!. . . and only a few minutes ago, you said they are not debt. . . United at current profits rate can never pay pay back the loan . . you have to be earning more than your interests to pay back your loan over time. . . what your plan. . ? Roman will sell because Chelsea as a club has been posting losses since Roman's arrival. . . . .Wrong again. . . Chelsea weren't making profits when Roman took over. . . He knew he wanted to spend and that will even more nullify the club's chances of making profits in the short term. . so how the hell did you come about knowing Roman will sell because we aren't making profits. . . Are you saying Roman bought Chelsea because he knew we'l be making profits from the word go? Roman did not stumble on billions . . he knows profits from a distance. . . and non of you externals no what he is thinking. . And I think you are only over stating United's Commercial antics. . . I just told you United gross turnover was £245 and Chelsea's £223m only £12m better. . . . you make it seem like you turned over £700m. . . Simple maths from the figures there shows that the only reason Chelsea is not profitable is "expenditure". . not incapacity to generate revenue as you make it seem. . . On the real, you are only a tad better than Chelsea. . . MOF only £12m. . . cutting wages and staff is very easy and doable. . . it can only take one or two years. . and Chelsea will be profitable. . except we'll be paying money to our owner . . and paying the loan. . not interest on principal. . . That report was for May 2008. How old can it be when financial reports come out once a year?? Grin GrinThis is also not true. . . . TV, Shirt sales, Merchandise no matter how you paint it. . . . generated only £12m more than Chelsea for the year. . . I tell you, you are only overstating the "virtual" And Chelsea only spent more than Chelsea in 2004/2005. . . since then ManU have spent over £130m in two seasons in transfers. . while Chelsea bought Malouda, Anelka, Bosingwa, Deco and DiSanto . . . all for less than £50m . . The only thing we need to cut now is wages. . . and with Ballack, Drogba, leaving in the summer. . a significant amount will be reduced in wages. . U are the one showing undiluted ignorance. You are only mixing facts up just to prove a point. . . Roman does not fire coaches for money. . only for the love of football. . so talk less about crisis. We don't fill our stadium up and we still generate £223m . . . imagine we do. and please don't give me some estimated BS. . . how the hell did you come about that figure? Don't try that here. |
it makes sence to any bank to fund UTD so long as they can prove they can pay back. The books can show thatIt does, but the point I am trying to make is . . IT DID. . . You look at profit alone, but look at it from this point of view. . . The total cost of Arsenal buying and building the Emirates stadium is £360m . . . with ManU's debt of about £764m. . . . Do you really think ManU is backed by any physical asset? Mabe you say OT is worth more. . . !!. . What the value of OT? Last figures coming out according to the Times show that ManU paid £42m in interest . . . but the total payable interests on all borrowings was £81m. . . The unpaid interest rolls over . . now that's compound interest. . . I don't know know where you guys get what you are saying fromLook ManU can't pay its interests . . and the interest don't go on forever. . There's a time frame for the loan. . which I think is Dec 2012. . (correct me if I am wrong). . . unless of course if the Glaziers refinance the loans. . . Now tell me . . . what does refinancing mean?. . . . Simple! It means higher interests. . . and higher and higher interests. . Not true!!! The debt is serviced year in year out. to the banks, dealing with UTD shows positive. so where do u get ur stats from? You can't justify this can you? I am quoting figures . . you are using words. . |
@chac, Those Delloite reports are old man!. . ManU currently has the biggest debts in the PL. . with well over £700m. . and while Chelsea currently has debt . . must I remind you that Chelsea's debt structure are way different from ManU's. .it's internal, not external. . and the loans can be converted into shares . . . and while a partial collapse in the UK economy will send ManU into division two. . it will only mean Roman is a £1bn poorer. . He just lost £3bn. . . big deal. . . . It's Roman's decision. . . Chelsea currently have high wages. . but it's gonna go down. . . the squad size has been reduced drastically, cutting wages, we have stopped paying stupid transfer and wages for players, we just cut down and restructured our scout network. . Arnesen's scout network laying off 15 of them, . . It's only a matter of two years, probably less, we start to make profit. . What's even better ?. . . we don't pay interests on loans. . You still don't get it . . do you. . |
@Chac, You can't compare ManU's financial state to having a mortgage. . . In a stable economy having a mortgage is like securing a loan to finance an asset . . that will penultimately increase in value. . it makes sense to any bank to fund that so long as they can prove your capacity to finance the mortgage repayments. . Conversely, ManU's borrowing to buy perishable assets . . in the finance of wage bills and transfer. . they very little fixed value whatsoever to the club. . like no one will buy Berbatov off you plus wages, for £30m. . that's debt. Even seasoned analysts call it debt. . . you dare to call it otherwise. . . ? (not that I am saying you are not one - I don't even know what you do. . . but you get the gist) The Glaziers won't cry no matter what, because they do not have a single penny in it. . . They don't lose either way. ManU's debts are spiraling out of control. I actually thot ManU made £245m in turnover, because Chelsea generated, £223m in second place. Chelsea is not far behind in being a money maker as well. With £223m, Roman will never sell because he understands long term. . . We can even generate this much without having as big a stadium as you and Arsenal and not being as loved as either of you. @Debosky. For you who just repeats gist you hear on the forum without proof. . how do you come about we not filling our stadium? http://www.chelseafc.com/page/TicketAvailability/0,,10268,00.html I will continue to post every time we have home games. . ,. |
@Debosky I will tell you once again. . . This is not an argument of whether Chelsea makes more profit than ManU. . . I am saying you guys are only looking at profits while the club continues to borrow. . . The profits only begin to make sense the moment the club stops borrowing. . . and you still haven't told me how you know they service their debts effectively. . Chelsea last reported very decent figures. . . although not decent to you. . Two years ago Chelsea reported loss of £140m, down to £80m and now last reported £74m loss after tax. . . but our turnover has grown to a massive £223.3m. Way above even Arsenal's at £200.8m. The difference Chelsea and Arsenal now wages. . . while most clubs try to keep their wage structure at 50% of turnover, ours is currently 71% of turnover but still better than previous 74%. . . . Chelsea has a mission to break even by 2009/10. . . I am not saying that will happen but it's easy for Chelsea to do away with huge wages, and get interest-free loans from Roman to buy younger players that can win trophies by selling our fat salary earners, than it is to do away with repayments on a stadium. That way, Chelsea can save the excess money on wages, increase revenue, and start to make profits in tens of millions. But instead of paying the banks, it can go back to Roman or even go back to the team. . . Roman can see this is profitable and there's no way he's pulling the plug. . . He will then be happy throwing more funds because of the profits. . This is not a far-fetched reality neither is it fiction. It is possible and within two years. So you see what I mean by saying Chelsea is in a fairly more comfortable state than ManU and Arsenal. . My question is will the banks stop borrowing ManU money? |
@Tkb http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/BobbyMcMahon/2007/01/26/Manchester_United_and_interest_on_the_debt Take that first. . . Comapnies borrow yes. . . . and so did Lehman Brothers . . . they could not survive without borrowing. . and AIG as well . . Freddie mac and Fannie Mae. . . but they all pay fat salaries and bonuses. . it's called operating expenses. . . they pay fat salaries and bonuses so their competitors don't edge them out . . Like ManU buys and buys now and pay fat salaries so that their competitors Chelsea, Arsenal et al don't edge them out. . . The point is there comes a threshold . . . Lehman Brothers declared PAT (can't remember the figures now). . even before they went under. . Don't tell me ManU can't go under because they service their debts regularly. . . Collateral of $425m for ManU's borrowing is dependent on the general health of the overall economy which in turn reflects in their share price (besides profit now). . . keep share price high and the company has till got some value. . . Look I am not saying ManU is not healthy. . I am saying they can't keep on borrowing. . . and creditors can pull the plug . . they can |
@Debo and Tkb417, Look guys this is not an argument of who is in a better financial position. I never said ManU don't make profits. I am not arguing about who makes more money. Haiving said that, can you for sure show me proof that ManU "effectively" services its debt. . . . and effectively means "as supposed to". . . are you sure you are not dwelling on hear say. The glaziers secured a deal when they took over ManU that saw their intertest payments drop from $180m a year to $124m a year. . . but they went on borrowing and all time borrowing has increased from $1.16bn to $1.32bn and ManU's current intertest payments stand at $180m a year . . Their last financial books read Revenue of $331m , PBT $62m How the hell can you justify "effectively servicing debts". . . if this results released by ManU is right. . . or maybe there is different explanation for "effectively servicing debt" Also how do you suppose ManU can "eminently" pay off the loan? How please tell me. . . And Arsenal. . . Oh! I didn't tell you. . . They now have -ve equity on the stadium. . . which means they now pay the banks more than the stadium is actually worth. . and did you hear no one's willing to buy those properties. . . ?. . meanwhile you must still pay council tax . . and all the other costs I can't mention now. . . Fact is . . Chelsea is not at the mercy of any bank. . and until Roman decides to call for his money, all you guys are only speculating. . it's not the same for banks. @Tkb419. It doesn't always work like that I agree. . . but sure fact is the next person to take on Chelsea will be someone that can afford it. . if not Roman can't sell in the first place. . . And please tell me why you think creditors can't call for loan in a harsh economic climate? . . . I doubt if many of you even know what the figures of your clubs are . . you all just jump up and down after trophies. . . |
@Switch And you come back to infect us with even more ignorance. . . . must you say what you don't know. Name me one club that you think "that profit"? Oh! you think ManU does. . ManU owes more than £700m and they don't even generate enough in a season to pay interests on the loan, let alone paying off the loan . . Do you know what Glaziers are doing to the club? Do you know what could happen if their creditors call for the loans in the harsh economic climate? What do you know? . . . Why did you suddenly change the number of people you thought are richer that Abramovic?. . . You call 14 people only? Do you think billionaires buy football clubs so that they can make a source of income. . . ? Cash cannot buy silver ware . . how does ManU win silverware. . with Rubbies? or Shells? Or you did not know ManU spent close to £130m over the past three seasons. . . if not more! I have told you to move to the Romance section if you can't educate us. . . Read the last ten pages. . you will see this place is way too much intelligence man! And please don't come back here with that infection. |
switch47:People like this should not be on this thread. . . . just go to the romance section. If Roman sells the club, he is going to sell it to someone richer than him. Or maybe I should say only someone richer than Roman can buy Chelsea off him. So how does that spell doom. Abeg go find something do. . . @Somze. I think it's wrong for you to say I was biased about reality. Only mid last week after the southend match. I was here writing about general managerial decisions that have been taken in the past with regards to players. I wrote extensively on our squad and what it has been reduced to. I also spoke about the way forwards. I liked Deco because of his style of play. . . but if it's possible or you to fish out my posts when he was signed . . I commented about his age. I ended up saying at £8m, it's not too much a risk for a 30 year old as compared to £30m for Sheva. I am so glad anyway that your "want-out" list now contains Drogba. I don't balme you for liking him so much because of what he has been paid to do for us. . what you did not see then what the right time for him to leave. We have all made mistakes about decisions. About LPS. . . I am going to say this once . . . I seriously backed him not because of his tactical nous but for the sake of stability. ( I have always stated that). . , at this point, I am "thinking" (yet to conclude) the best thing now is for him to go. Not because I no longer back him but because I think the results have been too disastrous to regenerate any confidence. The spirit is at an all-time low and I think his presence can only bring more disrespect and damage than good. . . except, except. . and I mean except of course he finds an entirely new set of players that want to play for him. Like I said, I am undecided yet. Having said all that, we could beat Southend and Stoke and Borough in the coming matches and go on another run . . . that might inject some positive spirit. I don't want to believe we have lost all the strength . . . we are still good enough to create some shock! |
@Ibime, Diarra was one player I loved so much. It was so clear to see he was going to be good. I would play diarra in DM above Mikel anyday. . . and he's young as in true young. . not Mikel's young. . but one reason he left is because Jose did not have patience with him. . . Jose hardly has patience with developing talent. . it's always developing talent. I think it's now clear to all the pro Drogba fans that he's finished. . . I pointed in one of my posts that knowing exactly what to sell is not as crucial as knowing when to sell. If we did not have a player that was constantly giving Drog a run for his money as at two seasons ago, then we were in trouble long time ago. A 31-year old striker is our supposed top striker. That's rubbish. We have failed to plan. Above Akola has highlighted a very important fact. . .but I very sure now he understands that he made series of errors. . . point now is we don't know what step he wants to take. . . sell off and ask for his loan in 90days. . or rather see the positives and focus on starting again. . . . I think he will want to start again. . . recent article in the Times quotes PK saying Chelsea's buying strategy will take a whole new turn from the summer. We will be spending big but we will be buying fresh and young players that have drive and passion and also resale value in the long term. . one important thing he also said is that we will be negotiating wages to the absolute lowest possible amounts. . . in other words , bye to ludicrous wages. . . This is the only way forwards. . . and I hope that Roman can stay and make this work. . . About LPS ? If he is not sacked this January end when we probably might have lost out to Juve. . . then he won't be. Roman loves CL. . . |
@Emperoh, I will take your stories in two parts. . first part . . . bollocks. . second part . . . complete sense. . . First part. . Why do we not get tired of this tradition thing. . . must it always be mentioned? Our team's crisis management strategy is abysmal. . You talk like we've been here before. How can you talk judge a "strategy" that hasn't been previously implemented? If you think our team's problem is not players. . then you probably do not understand the meaning of your crisis management in the first place. The problem is knowing just when to transition. . . exactly what Fergie has mastered over the years. . . You guys praise Ronaldo now, I won't be surprised if Nani is the best in two years time. Imagine the best scoring team in the PL last year splashing £30m on another forward player. . after spending £60m the previous season. . . what's more. . you'v probably agreed a deal for the Belgrade duo . . . . Every ManU fan was waiting for the return Gary Neville. Wes brown, in my own opinion did well in that position. . . out of the blue comes Rafael and knocks everyone out. . . many of you think Evra is the best LB in the premiership. . . but then there's Rafael's bro ready to push off the first at the slightest chance. . . . Evans is probably going to be a better defender than Ferdinand and Terry . . . . I can go on and on. . . .Do you see the transition there? I can't tell you better . . you are a ManU fan. . . Take a trip down to SW6 and imagine a major injury to Lampard, Terry and Drogba . . . that's it. We have left the transitioning factor behind. . . .we failed to find embryo while we were screaming Lampard and Drogba . .Many of us think our stars are the best there can be. . . . "don't sell this guy. . . . he's the best we have" that's been the culture. . Now the graph in going down south. . . . and it's clear to see that the major problem we have, before anything else is player problem. 2nd Part JM should not have been sacked. . . He needed his independence. . but JM practices short termism. . I also said LPS might be gone by Tuesday. . . . and it's really genius of you to think that if that doesn't happen changes will happen. . . . |
Where you puffing on some cohiba when you typed this?
Why are you trying sooo hard to get my attention?. . . . I saw everything you posted. . . Last season you were 12pts above us at some stage and you still did not finish above us . . . is that not true? You could easily lose to Stoke, Hull, Middlesborough. . You should be brokering a deal with Aston Villa not to displace you off your normal position. . Fourth. . Like I told you when things like this happen to teams like Chelsea, it called a glitch. . . it's norm with you guys. . . And must I remind you again A-40. . The premiership is still phocking blue. . . we understand what's wrong. . and we'll fix it very soon. . . stay tuned. . |
dayokanu:Hey man. . . I usually respect your insight into the knowledge of football. . but what you have here is utter rubbish. . . what is the talk of oblivion? What brought Chelsea into lime-light (Roman) is still around. £7bn rich. . . so what exactly are you saying. . . ? The only thing Chelsea have failed to do in the past 3 seasons is replenish the squad with younger players. . and that has caught up with us. Buying new, younger and better players will surely makes us competitive again and everyone who knows football can see this is easy to digest. . . So get back to your old self Dayo and stop all the futile stuff all for the love of being opposition. . . . Also does this "Shepe" thing not sound irritating to you? |
@Dayokanu Don't call me the Scolari guy. . . All you guys miss the point. It's not because of Scolari, it's because of stability. . I'l probably do that to any decent coach. . Pls guys stop all this stuff. . . I am considering how much it cost us to sack JM and all back room staff, Grant, Ten Cate et al. . and now Scolari. . . maybe we should not have fired JM accepted. , but we should be putting all the pay-off funds to building the team. |
@Ibime. . . Are you watching Sky? Fergie was just asked what he felt about the match. . and I have neva heard him talk about tactics of the opposing team. . . He said. . . In the second half they brought in Anelka, a forward player and opened up the midfield for us. . and from there. . . . . Exactly what I was saying. . . |
@Critz. He actually was . , we were so poor we made him look like MOTM. . . ![]() |
@Ibime, Don't misinform the public about my opinions on playmakers. . . even though I wanted playmakers, you make it seem like I wanted them in favour of wingers. . . I welcome wingers anyday . . I feel howeva feel playmakers will bring out the best in them. . .and that's what I said. |
vicade:Hey what is the reason you keep repeating this thing?. . The fans here are not plastic. . and know just how to take defeat. . . If we beat you 3-0 you won't feel great but don't go around posting childish statements. . |
@Ibime, Our midfield did not break down in the first half. . we were pushing them back. . and we only conceeded a goal from a mistake. . . but when LPS took off Deco, we lost a player in midfield for an attacker. . a formation that contracted into a 4-5-1 when defending ultimately becomes a 4 man midfield with Lampard and Ballack in central midfield. . . that's why Fergie rearranged his team. . . |
We are fucking finished. . . |
The midfield is broken down completely. . . we can't compete because our players are older. . |
We don't even look like we want a goal. . we should be pushing them back now. . . |
This is so so sad. . . |
A come back is not impossible but it's difficult. . |
That's it. . . |
I don't think we are set-up very well. , we can't trouble their keeper |
Common!!!! |
Another set piece. . . |
@Muki, Arsenal ke?. . . No way. . . When things like this happen to Chelsea, it is called a glitch. . . . everyone knows what Arsenal can't do. . . |
