Firstly, Mikel will never be an AM, he needs to take shots on target to make me believe. I can't remember his last shot on target, he probably will never score a PL goal.

Going two forwards in an away game is not something typical. The assumption is that the home team will come all out for the points, you need to be a bit defensive starting from your midfield. Going two up front will make us have only 2 away central midfielders DM and AM (assuming the other two are winger in a typical 4-4-2) as first shield for defense. This puts pressure on your defense and makes you vulnerable to conceed.

Now thinking about going 2 upfront with 10men (9 running men) is ludicrous. . . playing away you have only I central man as shield for defense. you can't do that. Reflecting on yesterday's circumstances, a draw was a fair result.

There's something wrong and this is what I think it is.

Playing a team like THE EVERTON we played during a JM era, we would have beaten them even with 10men. In the 2nd half, after the red card, we simply disappeared because we had three 30-year old midfielders and one 30-year old striker and that was supposed to be our front line.
Our transfer activity in the past 3 seasons have been appalling to say the least.  We have to be buy in January and buy young but it's so bad that Roman has lost the key to his safe.
