I created this thread since 2012 and I have done jobs for hundreds/thousands of client on nairaland and none has called me a scam. Allow me to digress a little: Early this year, April 3, 2018, Toyota North America, announced that it is recalling approximately 6,000 model year 2018 Camry and Highlander vehicles, model year 2017 Sienna, Tacoma and Lexus RX350 vehicles in United State. This vehicles are equipped with vacuum pump assembly, which provides braking assist. Now the problem is that a component in that vacuum pump assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly. This situation can lead to sudden loss of braking assist while driving and could increase the risk of crash or loss of life.

Now if am to apply or borrow your word, I will conclude immediately that Toyota are scammers, that didn't they conduct safety check before selling this cars to people.

I know it is old post but I wanted him to confirm if he carried out the conversion and the outcome. My lexus gx470 has ABS problem and cost of replacement is very steep. If a conversion can be done at a more cheaper price, I will gladly go for it.

My mechanic changed it..bought it for 45k at ladipo and charged 5k labour.
No issues since then

Someone I know has a related? fault with a 2008 Land Cruiser V8 (2UZ FE engine). Maybe some more light can be thrown on it here.

Vehicle is not throwing up any diagnostic test codes. Brakes work normally. No leaks, sponginess or excessive pedal travel. The problem is that if the vehicle is on a steep incline (such as when trying to go over a large speed breaker/bump at speeds of about 1km/h to 5km/h) and you take your foot off the throttle or brake - the vehicle rolls back and the anti-slip (VSC/TRAC) warning light and buzzer come on. On the same incline, another Toyota SUV we tested for comparison simply rolled back slightly until the torque converter held that vehicle stationary - without any buzzer or VSC/TRAC warning light drama.

All mechanics who have checked the vehicle don't seem to know what to do, especially since there are no DTCs. Any ideas, any one?

I'm sorry for the absence. I got a mechanic to change the abs . Cost me 50k then and no issues since then.
