@xtremebase thank you for your perspective on the big chop. Your advice is very helpful. I don't know what ori is but i do try and use Shea butter and castor oil, rosemary oil, olive oil and all those but apparently they might be doing more harm than good.I'll try and follow your proposed regime and see if i see the difference i desperately want.

The first girl is Bi-racial and so are the last 2 people. The others are African American. Show me a Nigerian woman who is not mixed with that natural hair texture. I'm not saying that our hair is bad, im just saying that we don't have that texture.

These are nice but we are black Africans, our hair don't curl in these patterns. We have 4b, 4c in hair texture and they are 3a to 3c. These women are all mixed with the exception of maybe one who's hair is the closest to our texture and her hair is probably a 4a/b. Find hair that will be best suited for our type of hair and then we'll talk.

Use sunscreen and moisturizer everyday it prevents hyper pigmentation on the skin. Then for your skin there are many fade cream specific for age marks and acne spots (neutrogena,ambi,olay, etc) I would use retinol(tretinion) if you can get prescription because it peels off the outer skin and reveals a smoother more even skin and it won't make you lighter which is a plus.

I have actually cut my hair. I just want to grow it out without chemicals.

So basically you've met your perfect girl except she does not look attractive to you. You already know your choices, you can stay with her and grow to like her which often happens, or you can keep searching and you might finally meet your match the most beautiful girl with the ugliest attitude. Has anyone gone the natural route and done the big chop[cut your hair]. How are you maintaining/ managing your hair. Do you feel like it is growing better now?

I did the big chop 6 months ago and i still don't know if i did the right thing. My hair is so stubborn and people keep telling me to do something with it when they see me, so i guess its that bad. I don't really miss relaxers because i'm liking my natural texture and its fullness but i just cant get my hair to look how i want it and it has not grown much which is annoying.

For the person that posted the Moroccan oil treatment,which store carries those or is it only available online. I use all shea moisture products and coconut oil, Moroccan argan oil,rosemary oil with castor oil for the best results and of course hello hydration herbal essence shampoo. I have really kinky hair and it shrinks like crazy so i use them with twist outs or braid outs too.
